Arturo's Tacos

Large menu with margarita specials on Tuesdays & Thursdays. The al pastor Gordita was my favorite item, highly recommend this place for a casual spot. I’ll definitely be coming back

After a long day of hard work, nothing tells your crew “I appreciate you” like some late night tacos from Arturo’s. Although it was busy, our server was very attentive and we appreciated that as well!

I ordered a burrito with rice and beans. It was done and bagged in less than 2 minutes. How is that possible? For $22, I expected very good food. I have to be honest and say the food was very very very very very very very nasty. The burrito seem to be pre-made. The rice and beans were very cold with no taste. I highly do not recommend this place

I first went to Arturo's back in 1990. I fell in love with the place. Such good food and nice people. I didn't have much money, and would save up to treat myself to a burrito. They were huge. The size of a yule log. I return to Arturo's every time I am in Chicago. The place is glorious, the food affordable, service quick, genuine food and people. I over eat every time and never regret it.

Great late night spot. The service is good, staff is friendly and the food comes out hot and quick.

They don't give free chips and salsa. It is $4.95. No fountain pop they have cans and glass bottles. The tip you have to give by cash, not by credit card. Friendly service. On the pricey side. I had an order of ground beef flautas rice and beans. Also a Sprite and it was $22.00. I love supporting local businesses I am sure I would be back the food was very good .

Food was terrible. We only stopped in because it was close to our final destination. My wife ordered the flautas but it seemed they were pre-fried and then just put inside the oven to toast and serve. The burrito al pastor I had was served correctly I suppose but the flour tortilla was just heated and not even given some brown marks from the skillet. $5 a taco?!? Way too expensive, cheap quality meat I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. We were going to eat at the place by our house (Garcia's Mexican Restaurant) on the Northside but decided to this horrible place. Next time, we will stick to our gut...

Rude people, especially the two managers that claim they were the owners at first I go in there to order my food that I have for credit. It’s a remake cause they gave me the wrong food. Something that was spicy and I cannot eat it due to my acid reflex, the lady they gave me the credit during the day. She said she apologized and she’ll have my name written down for the next time I come in as a credit. I was there for 45 minutes. The two managers that claim to be the owner said get out of here or I could take your order and pay for it. I clearly gave them enough time to look into my credit, but that’s what he came back with so I asked to speak to the owner so I could let them know how they’re talking to me. I am hoping I could speak to the owner and let him know what’s going on there Horrible experience

This is an if you know, you know kind of spot. From the outside it looks unassuming and the decor is nothing to write home about, but the food and value here are UNMATCHED in this area. Last time I was there I had three tacos with beans and rice. My group also shared queso. We all had leftovers from our meals to take home. The staff here are so incredibly kind and told us to come back-- we were already planning on it after seeing their $5 margarita happy hour on Tuesdays and Tuesdays.

Miscellaneous Mexican food for lack of better words. I went in for a casual taco night with a friend and we were shocked when the total for 2 sets of tacos, an order of chips n guac, and two fountain drinks was nearly $80. Every side is an extra charge, and not a nominal one either. It could have been justified if you thought you were paying for ambiance or service, but its next to nothing in both departments. You're better off going to Manchamantales next door if you want to spend money on dinner out.

Excellent food and they have a nice parking lot. They're open late and they offer the Mexican bottled Coca-Cola. This is my late night go to restaurant.

I was at night with my brother in Arturos Tacos. everything was good accept Cafe stuff . Waiters was very rude .

I ordered a steak burrito which comes lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole. There was no guacamole on my burrito so I asked since no guacamole can I have avocado and that was a $2 up charge.

Adding a 4% service charge for credit card sucks enough. But then requiring you to tip your server in cash or Venmo is just insane.

I'm braking the bank again 2 micheladas Taco dinner 3 tacos rice & beans 2 tacos 1 gordita $70 card fee and zelle to the server.........but the pastor tacos are good

I paid $3 for sour cream $3 for cheese and and it was an additional charge for $ for creama each charge stated it was extra, why would someone agree to pay extra 3 times for the same thing Lucy, but it was barely any on my tacos. 2 drinks and 2 taco meals costed me $80 impossible no matter how you change the word. The food was good but let's not over do it being as though. I was excited to eat here because I've eaten here several times in my younger years and I was not impressed. 2 tacos was inedible because it contained mostly fat which had to be spit out.

First, the heat in the building was too hot. $11 for a small subpar bowl of guacamole. No free salsa. The ribeye in the chimichanga was inedible and in a pile of oil. Just gross. Service was fine.

Sundays is not 24 hours, they lied and are not truthful on their hours. The food is so so at best. Arturo's had good food back in the day.

Beware: taco dinner on website menu is $11.95. When we showed up to pick up a carry-out order: they charged $17.95 per dinner. That's a huge increase. There's masking tape all over the menu increasing other prices as well. Food for al pastor tacos was good. Chicago standard taco quality. 3 tacos, onion & cilantro, rice & beans, all stuffed in that standard #6 styrofoam container. Order was ready when they said it'd be. But too expensive at $18, even if i want to help local biz.

This is a good taco spot! The tacos are pretty tasty but I felt like it was a little overpriced for what it is. I got a taco dinner, which comes with 3 tacos of choice and rice and beans. For my tacos I got pollo, Al pastor, and carnitas. All of them were tasty, but surprisingly pollo was my favorite - the meat was flavorful and juicy. The rice and beans on the side were good too. Overall this is a nice spot to grab some tacos. The food is good, but again felt like it was a bit overpriced.

A hole in the wall type of place. Don't come here if you are expecting fancy! I ordered 2 tostadas, a chicken and a pork. I preferred the chicken. I also enjoy they have bottled coke in the glass bottle!

Worst tacos I've had. Burnt, crunchy meat is not worth spending $4.50 each. I definitely won't be spending money here ever again.

Two taco dinners and an enchilada dinner. And 2 sodas. 71$ plus 10$ tip. Pepes Tacos chain tastes much better. 81$ for three dinners is obscene. Never again.

i honestly was expecting more from this place (with absolutely no prior knowledge lol) based on how authentic it looked on the inside. the food was alright, nothing spectacular. i got the al pastor tacos and they were a bit dry but not terrible. the margs were HUGEEEE and only like $15. service was average.

Excellent food and service, especially considering it was after midnight on a Saturday. I recommend it for all your late night Mexican needs

Food is delicious. However I ordered flour tacos, as I am allergic to corn. They give me corn. I call and she says I can either come tomorrow and bring the food or next Tuesday. This is a random treat for me and I'd like to come whenever I want. I expressed that to her and she basically called me honey and hung up on me. I never write reviews but this saddens me because I love the food.

Not fancy, but very comfortable, tasty and fun. Good enchiladas here. Oldskool Chicago place. A perfect spot for late night munchies, too.

I used to really like coming here for their soups but sadly, today was my last time because they charge for everything now. I was charged for chili garnish for my soup as well as rice which usually comes with their soups. I get it, inflation and higher wages is probably impacting business, but as far as I know, no other Mexican restaurant is charging for rice and garnishes, which again, is always complimentary with soup.

The food was very good and authentic , the service was super friendly and good and the ambiance was a vibe they had good music playing , I was a lil sus about going because of some other reviews but it was very tasty and the tacos are big and fat and very much worth the money , I would def eat there again. The chips n salsa are free so idk what some reviews were about but they gave it to us w no issue and no charge.

Arturo's is a staple of Bucktown - it's quick, tastes good, and has a huge menu with lots of pictures on it just like you would hope. Oh and the best part? It's open 24 hours, so look nod further for late night munchies after the bars close. It is a bit expensive on my opinion for what it is, but hey, I'll be back anyway. Also, please note they don't allow for tipping on their POS for some reason, I had to Venmo my server last time, so bring cash or make sure to have Venmo/Zelle set up.

If you come after 4:20 am. not allow to eat inside. Only carry out . They Close at 5:00 am but need to Order before 4:20 am. I got here 4:22 am. .

Only food as good as Arturo's can overcome the sub par service. Their fastball is their hall of fame chorizo. But then they hit you with the curve--the barbacoa. Which has to be some of the best food in Chicago.

Food used to be way better and that's saying a lot for a place that's 24/7. Please tell me why i spent $20 before tip for a taco dinner that looked like it came from Taco Bell. Actually i had taco bell couple days ago and that looked and tasted better and was half the price for the same amount or more food. The menus have all the prices scratched out and only half the menu items are listed on the white board above the cash register, so we really didn't even know that that's how much we would be spending on such a bad to subpar meal. I know times are tough with rising produce prices and such, but if the prices are going to go up, then the quality must also get better. Pretty simple. Also, don't bother asking for chips and salsa cuz it ain't complimentary anymore. We asked and were surprised when she said it was a whopping $5!! For chips that have been in a tanning booth for 6-8 hrs a day, that's some mighty high inflation!!

It was decent food but the price is NOT worth it. It was 75$ for 2 dinner plates and 3 tacos with no drinks .. they also charge for everything and I had to ask for napkins 3 times since they would only bring one for each of us. After the poor service, the server said... " leave my tip on the table I'll grab it from there" inferring I would be tipping.

I've always been a big fan of this place. Service is on-point and the food is always delicious. Love the flavor of the steak and the red hot sauce is so flavorful. Easy street parking (typically) and a convenient lot behind the building, too. Friendly reminder if paying by card that gratuity still has to be left in cash.

Shame on you Arturo's for having a great location and serving lackluster food. Tell me why we came in there today and every single table got chips and salsa and not us? Even after we said something, we still didn't get it. To add insult to injury, the food that I got was cold because it was just sitting there after it was made. I would give consideration if it was super busy but this restaurant was like 20% full. We ordered a mixta tostada as well and it was sitting so long that the tostada lost its integrity. I advise you all to patronize other deserving businesses because they don't seem to care for customers.

Best Al pastor tacos in all of chicago. They give you loaded tacos so definitely worth the price. Recommend this place 100%

Tacos had lettuce and tomato. Hard to find prices on the menu for different entrees. Kinda expensive for what you get.

Had the steak taco dinner. Paid them TWENTY U.S. DOLLARS. It's bland. Tastes like nothing. they forgot my limes too. Sad because the workers were nice people.

I have been eating here for about 7 years and it's still so good. It's my favorite place to go for tacos. It's a community staple. Perfect for lunch time, family dinner, and late night bites. The Chorizo Gordita is perfect.

I purchased two Chile's rellenos dinners today to go and when I got home this is what I got. One STAR to many, What a ripoff!

Ordered pastor burrito and not sure what meat they put in there but it was not pastor and it had a bad smell. My wife ordered caldo de res and her meat was old

Paid almost $18 for 3 tacos and food poisoning. So bummed! The food here used to be so good and the price has had a pretty major increase. Would not recommend :(

The waitress I had was very nice and that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about this place. The food is mediocre at best while also being very overpriced. The part that I dislike about this place the most is the inability to leave a tip if you pay with a credit card. The waitress said I could Zelle her which I'm fine with but I find it extremely unprofessional that a business forces it's employees to have to ask for customer's cash app to get paid. Who's ever in charge of running this place needs to go.

The chicken soup here is delicious and authentic, but the prices seem to go up every time I order from here...last night I was charged $30 for chicken soup and a side of guac. The guac was horribly over-salted and lacked flavor. They also don't really list prices on their menu, so they essentially charge people however much they want on a given day. You could easily go elsewhere for the same quality of food and for a much more reasonable price.

Yummy food, shitty pricing. Taco Max just west of fantastic Old Irving Park Is more delicious and half the price and frankly in a better neighborhood

I absolutely love this place. Second time coming and the food is always fresh and fast. Literally so fast that after ordering, the turn around shocked my friend that dined with me lol. The al pastor tacos are delicious! Authentic with onion and cilantro. What more could you ask for? I demolished the entire thing. And the best part?? OPEN 24 HOURS. Perfect meal after partying for Halloween!

All good to me. I've been coming here for years and I've always been happy with Arturo's. Unlike so many babblers here under, I've always tried to be nice to the staff and they have always been nice to me, even though my Spanish speaking attempts must wear thin on them. Decent tortillas, Pastor, lengua, rellenos, seafood soup, all delicious and ample portions (ok, the farm-raised shrimp are always overcooked, but nobody's perfect). Prices are up, but not as bad as many. We parked in the back @ 9:00 on Friday, no problem. I wanna go now.

Service was awesome. It is open 24 hours, so I decided to take a look at what they offered. The menu had affordable Mexican comfort food. I was tempted to order more than I visited for, but ended up sticking to my plan of ordering one taco. Although it was nearly midnight, the restaurant was crowded and there was barely any tables open. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but I ordered the $2.75 carne asada (steak) taco. It came with 2 nicely grilled flour tortillas, nicely cooked carne asada, lettuce, tomatoes, and a side of red salsa sauce. Only critique is I wish it came with some onions, cilantro, limon, and more meat. The restaurant walls were colorfully decorated and had the feel of a little hole in the wall Mexican village. The al pastor meat on the rotating spit looked very delicious, I will have to spend the extra money next time to try the $3.30 al pastor taco. It hit the spot. Perfect midnight snack. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Ordered $45 worth of foods to go, which included a seafood soup. I had two bags that looked double knotted so I grabbed them both by the knot and immediately the bag with the soup fell because it was not tied properly. The soup spilled in the bag while I was still in the restaurant and they told me they would not replace it. Very poor hospitality and service.

Been going to Arturo's every few weeks for almost 30 years. Used to have huge burritos and the best free chips and Pico de gallo. Went today and the burrito was tiny. Cheese was +$1 sour crème was +$1 and the once free chips were $4.50!!!!. What used to be an affordable lunch that I would take 1/2 the burrito home for dinner, now costs $20+ w/tip, and there's nothing to take home because the burrito is so small!!! I understand prices have gone up for things but this is a joke.

We wandered in to this restaurant on the corner for a bit to eat. I thought about not writing this review, but ethically it needs to be written. If you are looking to eat here during daylight hours, I wouldn't suggest it. I ordered a margarita and it had a green and black ice chunk stuck to the bottom... it began melting and smelled of fish. The mango flavor tasted of bad breath... and I paid $10 to almost sip it a few times The salsa was wonderful! However we ended up paying $50 for mediocre tacos. Our server was very kind, but I couldn't get over the initial sludge experience falling off my drink :/

I came from vermont and was desperate for delicious authentic Mexican food. So glad my uncle recommended Arturo's. I got the steak torta and a carne asada taco and my sister got chicken flautas. Delicious!

Never going back here again... What is this?!?! this is SUPPOSED TO BE A TACO DINNER... Skimpy meat... beans were runny... rice was the best thing on plate and I usually don't eat that ... had to put all on taco to fill it out... LEAVING HUNGRY... $14 of pure shit! They looked at me crazy when I complained... They were looking at me like they knew what they were doing when it was delivered... GO NEXT DOOR TO LAZO's!!!!
