New Austin Food Truck Asado’s Taqueria Opens With Mission-Style Burritos | Eater Austin

"Opened in mid-August at Rosedale Market in the Rosedale neighborhood (1309 West 45th Street), this new food truck offers a focused menu of Mission-style burritos, tacos, quesadillas, chips, salsas, and guacamole. Its burritos nod to the overstuffed, steamed Mission tradition but currently omit rice (the owner plans to test rice as an optional add-in); they can be ordered 'super' with pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, salsas and Monterey Jack cheese, and can also be served crispy instead of steamed. Protein choices include grilled steak, carnitas, grilled chicken, or bean-and-cheese. Owner and chef Danny Blair brings Bay Area influence and professional culinary training after working at San Francisco restaurants such as Californios and Cala and Austin spots including Nixta Taqueria, Suerte, and the Egyptian barbecue truck KG BBQ. The truck operates 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, offers online takeout and delivery, and provides outdoor dine-in seating." - Nadia Chaudhury

Asado’s Taqueria - Review - Rosedale - Austin - The Infatuation

"Parked at a gas station at 45th and Burnet, along with a few  other food trailers, Asado’s specializes in burritos and tacos inspired by San Francisco’s Mission District (minus the typical inclusion of rice). That means steak, carnitas, or pollo, plus pinto beans and pico. Or you can make your taco or burrito “super” with guac, sour cream, and Monterey Jack cheese for a few dollars more." - Nicolai McCrary

Google
After hearing great things about this place having great burritos, I was excited to try them out. The location wasn’t hard to find and there were a few other food trucks in the area. After reading about the long lines/wait times I decided to go early. The young lady who took my order was extremely polite and upbeat, customer service was on point. I ordered a chicken super burrito (crispy) and a regular flour steak taco. The food was very filling, but unfortunately in my opinion it lacked any real flavor. The food was warm and tasted fresh, it also came with green and red hot sauce which added some additional flavor. I don’t see myself coming back again, but if I do I will add lime and extra sour cream and hot sauce to jazz it up a bit.

Asado’s Taqueria is hands down the best food truck in Austin. Their burrito is absolutely amazing—packed with flavor and so delicious! The crispy texture is perfect, making every bite unforgettable. If you're in Austin, you have to try this place. Highly recommend!

Google
Yum! Asados Taqueria has California mission style burritos and don't hate on diversity in Mexican staples for local Tex mex lovers but these super burritos are absolutely lovely! The tortillas are toasted, which makes the burrito hold its texture and filling without making a mess, the service is swift since we online ordered and picked up right on time, and the outdoor patio seating tables have shade and are great and lovely to indulge a la fresco on a cool evening for your dinner noms! I also scooped up a burrito bowl which was very well portioned and love the offerings of proteins for solid entree choices. Can't wait to come back, parking is the cozy tiny lot or street parking but it's a great local eats place which is a good spot to get your taco and burrito fix!

Google
Finally found a good burrito spot, will be back. Very good pick, came from tiktok and i was very happy with my choices. I got a carnitas super burrito as well as a chicken super burrito crispy. Both very very good, there is a good load of toppings in it like rice, beans, guac etc. which can over take the meat a little since there is only so much meat but overall a very good authentic mexican burrito. Both salsas are good, green is a little limey but both have the perfect spice. On a good day, the outside patio is the perfect weather to be in and not too many people around.

Google
Asado’s Taqueria is hands down my favorite food trailer in Austin! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with real care—you can taste the quality in every bite. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Every time I’m craving a quesadilla, this is where I go. It’s totally worth driving across Austin for. Every visit feels like a mini food adventure. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Mexican flavors!

Hands down the best burrito I ever had in my life!! No joke! I’m not sure whether to call this place a hidden gem and hidden GOLD MINE!! If they wrote a book about that Crispy super steak burrito I would read it😄. Fresh ingredients, amazing quality and delicious flavor. Please go and enjoy!😋 My wife and I loved this place!

Google
This burrito was absolutely amazing. All of the ingredients and technique of cooking were top notch. It was not quite as large as I was hoping but for the price, it can't really be beat. We also got a super quesadilla and it was a bit overfilled with ingredients. Next time, I'd like to request the guac and pico on the side rather than inside from the get go.

Google
First time trying after seeing on social media, overall it was really good! I got a steak quesadilla and it was flavorful, the seasoning on the steak was a bit mild but the chips, salsas and guac were delish and added nice flavor. The food truck area is also very cute, lots of seating. We would go back and recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
We stopped by before heading out of Austin on Saturday evening. Even though we arrived less than 15 minutes before their posted closing time, the guy at the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered the bean and cheese super burrito and my boyfriend ordered the steak super burrito. These burritos are stuffed full of goodness. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection. The beans could have used a little more seasoning, but the salsa added that extra flavor. The guacamole was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. Let's talk about the salsas. The red was spicy hot! It was packed full of flavor, so use it judiciously. My favorite was the green. It was delicious and creamy and had just enough heat. I did not use this judiciously and got a little sweat on. Also, be warned, the chips and guacamole are addictive and will cut into your hunger level before the burrito. The food was definitely worth the trip up from San Antonio.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Asado's. I decided to come and try them before getting gelato from Kessho for a Friday lunch. There wasn't anybody ahead of us when we walked up to the truck so we were able to place our order quickly and got a recommendation on what to order. You get a little beaver to let you know when your order is ready which enabled us to check out the little shop that's part of the food truck park. There were a couple of orders in ahead of us so our weight was maybe around 10 minutes. Even if we hadn't gone into the shop, they now have the picnic tables covered, which is kinda nice. We split the super burrito with steak and got it crispy. It came with two of their tomatillo Bay sauces, and one red sauce. I didn't notice that the tortilla sauce was spicy, but my daughter thought it was. The red sauce was definitely spicy, but in a great way. The burrito is a good size for the price. And it's quite flavorful. Couple of the pieces were a little chewy, but overall it was an enjoyable and filling lunch. Agua de Jamaica was good, but it is very sweet. I am taking ours home and going to pour over some more ice and maybe water it down just a little bit to cut the sweetness, but it is quite refreshing. I look forward to trying more items in the menu but may either order as take out or wait until fall.

Yelp
Nothing short of amazing! This is our go to spot for California style burritos and it never disappoints. We usually order the chicken and steak burritos and both are always packed with flavor and hit the spot! The crispy cheese on the outside is perfect everytime and adds that extra crunch you don't get from most other burrito spots in Austin. The line can get a little long, but it's definitely worth the wait. We don't live in Austin but make it a point to hit up this place every time we are in town!

Yelp
I tried out this taco truck after it was recommended to me. I got the super burrito and I love that the outside was toasted and the flavors were really good. I did order a steak burrito and ended up getting a Carnitas one instead, which was a little disappointing! But overall flavors are good. I do think the burrito should be bigger for $14. Especially since this is a truck and not a restaurant where we would be paying for the atmosphere.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Asado's dishes up California style, Mission specifically, burritos that are both HUGE and delicious. Sure, they are $15, but certainly your moneys worth considering how much food you get for that amount. Service: 5/5 Very quick and friendly. We only waited for 10mins until we got our food. Environment: 4/5 Outside at picnic tables can be nice when it's cool, but really hot in the summer. Parking can be tough if the lot is full as well. A lot of this is out of the control of the food truck.

Yelp
Been here a few times and although the burritos are good, I think their rice bowl is the best!! Everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. Opted to add guac too and was not disappointed. Their salsa has a great kick to it and chips are great. There is a good amount of seating and then street parking or parking at the shopping mall across the street. They have beautiful plants and landscaping around the truck and picnic tables. They can get a pretty long line around lunch time so I recommend showing up right when they open at 11.

Yelp
5 stars - I will always be a burrito person... I actually first saw this place on Reddit lol. My hubby and I went on a Saturday morning at around 11 which is when they open. There isn't very many parking spots right outside of the food truck but if you drive a bit further, you can park on the street near the houses. There were quite a few people here when we came. My husband ordered the Steak Super Burrito ($14) and I ordered the regular chicken burrito ($12). The super burrito comes with guacamole, sour cream, & cheese, the normal burrito doesn't. We asked for it crispy which just means they leave each side of the burrito on the pan for it to crisp up and give a pretty brown color. The red salsa was so good, it's a bit spicy. This place is like Cabo Bobs but they go the extra mile to crisp up the burrito and don't overfill it so it doesn't tear when you take a bite lol. There are a few picnic tables if you wanna sit and eat there. I don't think there was a restroom or a portapotty. I will def be back!!

Yelp
Found this gem on TikTok. I made my parents come try one with me and everyone LOVED the burritos. Ordering from your phone is super convenient and easy so bonus points for that. Super quick wait time too which was good since we were starving. The only thing I wish I got more of was the salsas. I could drink the orange one it's BOMBBBB!

Yelp
Wow guys, I haven't had a burrito in years - this changed my mind about burrito. Got the super burrito with carnitas which is similar to standard one but has sour cream, avocado and cheese. They make it crispy, probably through pan fry? The burrito was flavorful, love the crispy outer layer and all the fillings blend together perfectly. It's a food truck with outdoor seating and some umbrellas, so very nice in the winter months. The guy working there was friendly and helpful. Would 100% have this again.

Yelp
Too many better options throughout Austin. I read a review from someone being from NorCal and saying how they remembered burritos back home being just like this. Unfortunately, I am from SoCal, and those burritos come with refried beans. Granted, their menus does say "pinto beans" and I just assumed when they referred to pinto beans, they meant refried beans. The menu also advertises Monterey Jack cheese; I had to take the burrito apart to find any cheese. The flour tortilla is delicious but I am sure they buy these. Overall, it is a large tortilla but filled about 80% with rice, 15% full beans and 5% cheese. And for $9... hardly worth the price. We tried two regular tacos; a chicken and a steak on corn tortillas. The meat tastes like it was cooked up earlier in the day and has just been sitting in a warming tray. These also came with pinto beans, something I never had in a street taco... and some sauce. No cilantro. The corn tortilla fell apart and just had to eat the tacos with a fork; more like eating a taco bowl. Their salsa is quite good. I've read elsewhere the customer service isn't very good and I agree. The person who took my order wasn't very pleasant at all and was even more disagreeable when I picked up my order and asked for more salsa to take with me. And as other have noted, we waited much longer than any other place I have been to. I have been to almost 100 taco places since moving to Austin and have found a few that are exceptional. Most of the others are just fair at best and this doesn't even rank up there. Again, there are many other choices and I would recommend trying other places before eating here.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while and I finally took the plunge. The location is ideal as there are other shops around so you can make it a day. Also available enough if you decide to just do a lunch run pick up. We got the super burrito with steak no sour cream cut in half and we shared. I had the hibiscus iced tea and have to say it's one of my favorites! The steep was good as the color gin was a deep hibiscus. As for the burrito I will say the green salsa is a must with it! The lime flavor and spice tied into the crispy burrito with tender steak is so flavorful. A bite without the sauce is okay ...I will say the rice lacks flavor but the combo with the green salsa takes it to the next level! Being located with other shops around gives it a very homey aspect. I recommend trying and again don't forget the green salsa.

Yelp
Get yourself to the corner of Burnet Road and Addison Ave. Park in the small lot right off Burnet (not on the side streets, those are marked resident-only). Set a bit back from the street, near a coffee kiosk and a few other small businesses, you'll find a bright orange food truck. Approach the window and say "I'd like a Super Burrito with steak, and make it crispy, please." Pay and receive a buzzer thingie, take it to a nearby picnic table and wait until the buzzer thingie starts buzzing. Receive your treasure and either eat it there or vamoose to home or office. The Super Burrito costs about $15 with tax, which might seem high, but it's huge enough for two people with normal appetites. This isn't a Tex-Mex burrito, it's a Mission style burrito like they do it in California (add a star if you're from there). A large, thick flour tortilla, nicely browned but still soft, is wrapped around rice, whole pinto beans, steak, pico, guac, sour cream and Jack cheese. You can also order chips and salsa, chips and guac, quesadillas and tacos. The man at the window is friendly and works quickly. So what are you waiting for? It sure beats Chipotle.

Yelp
A massive and crispy burrito!! They place was delicious and easy as you can order ahead for pickup or to enjoy at their many picnic tables on site. The portion was large and the quality/flavors were exceptional. It does get busy so I highly recommend ordering online in advance. Enjoy!

Yelp
This place is my friend's all-time favorite go-to burrito spot. Danny has such a great passion for his food, and they are continuously working on improving the outdoor seating area experience. Expect friendly and personable experience. This plaza is a hidden gem!
google avatar

Kim-Jamy N.

Yelp
Very good burrito! The first bites were my favorite with the crispy-ish tortilla. I heard great things about Asados and while I was up north for a doctors appointment, we decided to swing by afterwards. What a treat! The burrito was delicious and the green salsa was so refreshing. If I'm ever in the area - I'll come back!l (low key, high key hoping for more doc visits so this burrito could be a reg occurrence in my life).
google avatar

Yelp
Food truck but they have parking around on street or in the lot it is located in. They have plenty of picnic tables to sit at with umbrellas for the Texas sun, Food came out pretty quickly but there was nobody there when I arrived. I got the super burrito with steak and crispy. The difference from the regular burrito and super is that they add guacamole, sour cream and cheese. Crispy makes all the difference from the traditional soggy tortilla. The burrito has the perfect balance of ingredients and flavors. Great salsa but definitely spicy, especially the red! I also got the Agua de Hibiscus and I love sweet but this was very sweet, Still really good just mixed some water to it. I will definitely be coming back when I am in the area.

Yelp
Finally got to come back to one of my favorite food trucks! Me and my boyfriend thought to come here for lunch since we were in the area and loved it so much the first time we had it. When we came here for dinner a few months ago it was super busy and the wait was honestly kinda long so this time I ordered on our drive over and our food was ready by the time we arrived. We got the super burrito (toasted) with carne asada again and oh my gosh it was just as good as the last time. I love that they will toast the outside of the burrito for you. It makes eating it so much easier and the slight crunch is so satisfying to bite into. We also got the regular quesadilla with chicken and it was such a good size for the price! All of the ingredients here taste so fresh and are so well seasoned and cooked so everything tastes great on its own but the salsas are also incredible. Make sure to get both the green and orange salsas!! Both are have great flavor and a good kick to it. Overall, such an awesome food truck in a cute lot with awesome service!
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Delicious burritos! Whole beans rather than refried beans I didn't mind it on the Super Burrito (which was fantastic!) but the BRC was pretty dry and everything spilled out. Refried would hold it all together better. Love that they do crispy burritos. Made the tortillas that much tastier! $5 for a small guac was offensive until I tasted it and that was some of the best damn guac I d had in Austin! Service was friendly and online ordering/pick up a breeze.
google avatar

Brigid P.

Yelp
So my husband thought I was crazy to give them a 3 the other day. He ranks this a five and he snuck and went the other day when I was with friends again. So since he was so adamant and we usually have pretty aligned palettes I decided to give it another chance. My burrito today was definitely more stand out than the other day. I thought the steak had more flavor and the guac/pico ratio was better. I think my bug a boo might be the rice. It's a little on the mushy side for me. My husband stands by his 5 and says he wants to eat these burritos everyday. I would eat them periodically and I am sure I will since my husband has found a love for them. I think I might go the quesadilla route next time. Worth checking out and the owner Danny is really nice and definitely has a love and passion for the food he makes.
google avatar

Eden M.

Yelp
Asado's is the only food truck my partner and I have been to more than a couple times in the last year since moving here.. We have a 30 minute commute, but it's worth it every time! I usually get their steak burrito, and it's always been a hit I'm from LA and it's hard to find a spot where it hits the same, so I'm very glad my partner found this place to check out! Will always be coming back
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
I really wish I could see what the hype is all about with Asado's Taqueria because I ordered them through Uber Eats and was massively disappointed. Their guacamole is quite good, but that's about all I can say that's strictly positive. I also tried their burrito, which was outrageously overpriced. It's a pretty bland burrito, and I don't recommend ordering delivery because it came pretty soggy. They also took quite a long time to make my order, so it was delivered over 1.5 hours later despite the fact that I live 12 minutes away. The burrito is quite large, but they only give you one of each salsa/sauce which is not nearly enough for the burrito size.
google avatar

Salma L.

Yelp
Tried their Super Burritos and pretty close to authentic Mexican burritos. The meat needed some salt but I don't know I'm a salty person myself so. Really enjoyed it! Wish their salsas were more spicy. Will definitely have again, gets busy quick so make sure you start to line up before opening. I don't if they were running late that day but they didn't open up right at 11
google avatar

Kelsea K.

Yelp
My GOTTI! The nomsky-licious crispy beef burrito with all the fixings is filling, tasty, and pretty good to look at, too! These guys set me up with a fantastic first experience, complete with chips & divine homemade salsa! The service was top-notch, especially since the poor guy had to run my chips & salsa to me on the other side of the parking lot (but he got to me before I started the car)! I'll definitely be back for more of this delish food! And thanks again for making sure I left with all of my meal!
google avatar

Andy O.

Yelp
I live in San Antonio Texas & this's was my first visit to this food truck & I will 100% be back to get another burrito. I know this will be an unpopular opinion when I say this but it's my truth. This was the best burrito I've had in Texas and it tastes like California and because of that it makes it so good. I appreciate the cook and his courtesy. Great food truck and I will be back
google avatar

Sydney D.

Yelp
This was my first time at Asado's and I'll definitely be back! I ordered the Super Burrito with Steak, make it crispy, and a side of Chips & Salsa. The burritos are HUGE and with the salsa and chips I was able to get two meals out of this. The steak pieces were perfect size, while still being flavorful and juicy. The guac in the burrito and the two small hot sauces/salses that came with it were a delicious combination.

Susan P.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot after seeing it all over social media. Came on a hot day--patio was clean and the guy taking orders was friendly. No line, which was a plus! Got a super burrito with extra beef--nicely made and the hot sauce had a good kick. Good overall, but honestly a bit overhyped.
google avatar

Ajay G.

Yelp
Had a lunch here today and the super burrito is amazing. The tortilla is toasted until it is crispy and the ingredients are so fresh. It was worth the 30 minute wait and they have nice benches in the seating area.
google avatar

Ang F.

Yelp
It's National Burrito Day, so you know we have to hit it up at Asado's. Yes. We gave up deals at Free Birds and Chipotle, because you'll never be disappointed by Dan's crispy burritos. I stand by that. Cabobob's I see you, and I haven't forgotten about you. These burritos are simple and unique. It's clear the aim is not to provide food that is "insta worthy", but rather food that is accessible, convenient, and straight up good. Always order for crispy style. Imagine a wrapped burrito and then seared between a flat spatula and flat stove surface on all sides. Adds the texture you'd miss from the traditional burrito you're used to. The salsa has an especially zesty taste of lime. Honestly, you don't even need the chips, the salsa is good enough to eat by the spoonful (although, I mostly put it on my burrito). The super version does offer the gooey presence of cheese and avocado, for an up charge.
google avatar

Anisha G.

Yelp
Coming from California, I was so excited to see California style burritos! I finally got to try this place and it slapped!! The burritos can be slightly tweaked to make them even better but overall I would come back here for a bangin burrito! They have a few benches to sit which is nice but it is a bit wack because of bugs, bent tables and next to a gas station.
google avatar

Soseh P.

Yelp
Have heard a lot of good things about Asado's and oh boy they didn't disappoint. They are parked behind a gas station and are the last truck. The gentleman taking our order was so nice and answered all the questions we had so service was amazing. They do have seating that's covered so that's a plus during hot Texas days. We ordered Steak Super burrito and Steak Super Quesadilla. We got time both crunchy which was amazing. The super has guac , sour cream and cheese added and that just elevated the burrito to a whole other level. The flavor was on point, not too greasy specially the quesadilla or oily and just all around great. We will be back to try carnitas and chicken items next.

Yelp
Born and raised in San Francisco Mission District where burritos are readily accessible. Moving to Austin area was a bit of a culture shock when it came to burritos. First, burritos aren't as available. Breakfast tacos seemed to have taken its place as they are served nearly everywhere, which is not a bad thing at all. However, I missed a good burrito. Second, the burritos that are available in the Austin area all come with lettuce! I mean, lettuce?!?! It gets soggy and it simply does *not* go in burritos (or tacos for that matter). Now that context has been laid out, I came across this spot via an Instagram post that looked promising. My verdict: I'm stuck on the **crispy super carne asada burrito**. It's thee closest I've gotten to a Mission burrito. The first thing I asked when I approached the food truck was "do you put lettuce in the burritos" and out came a quick "no" from the gentleman. As the location is out of the way from where I reside, I make sure to stop by every time I'm in the area to get my burrito fix in. Oh! Nearly forgot to mention the salsas are on point. Lastly, it is on the pricier side, and they do take some time preparing your order. If you got both time and little extra cash to splurge, I say this spot is 100% worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Hours are wrong online and they were still there servicing others but apparently closed.
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
the best food truck in town. i would highly recommend their super burrito (be ready to EAT!) i usually split it since i can't finish it in one sitting. the ingredients really do taste fresh. the service is always incredible, you can ask them to add something to your order or remove certain things. i usually go over the weekend, so it gets pretty packed but usually there are plenty of parking spots and enough tables to sit at.
google avatar

Erik H.

Yelp
Burrito, massive and most of all, delicious. Rice bowl was really good, with the green salsa. The red salsa brought the heat. The guy taking the orders was super chill and quick with the orders. Definitely a place to take a seat, enjoy the burrito and sip the Jamaica Hibiscus aguas.
google avatar

Devyn C.

Yelp
This burrito is my favorite in Austin and I get it at least once a week. If it was socially acceptable and fiscally responsible I'd get it much more. I love this place!!!

Jillian C.

Yelp
The best burrito I've had in Austin! I had the steak super burrito extra crispy and wish I had room for one more . Every bite was packed with flavour , can't wait to go back again.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Don't believe everything you see on social media. The cripsy burrito is a nice touch but they skimp on the steak

Juan S.

Yelp
The burritos here are BOMBBBBB!! get extra meat and make it crispy!! sooo gasssss i would definitely come here again
google avatar

Colombo R.

Yelp
Damn good tacos. The steak was cooked to perfection. I barely had to chew just melted in my mouth. And guac and chips was exceptional. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Hope the crispy burrito with steak and it was packed with fresh ingredients--avocado, beans, pico de gallo. It was at least 4 inches in diameter. Massive. Can feed 4 people, or 2 with good appetites. Loved the crispness of the flour tortilla contrasted Ruth the creamy avocado filling. Friendly service

Yelp
Great flavor! We actually went to SF last week and waited in line at La Taqueria and no joke...my husband and I looked at eachother and agreed that ASADOS is better. No waiting in line and the flavor was a bit more flavorful. This trailer is a little gem. They're not open on Tuesdays so no taco Tuesday for us but it's worth having a taco Thursday.

Yelp
Glad to see a nearby food truck that has options for vegans and vegetarians. I inquired and both the rice and beans are vegetarian. I got the veggie rice bowl and asked for sour cream or cheese to make it vegan. Very friendly person took my order. The green salsa that came with it was quite spicy, but tasty. Did not feel weighed down afterwards; felt healthy.

Yelp
Best burrito I've had in Austin. No contest. I got the super burrito with steak. I recommend getting it grilled too.

Yelp
Happy to have found this gem ! Bay Area style burritos . The meat ( asada ) is delicious I go back and forth on the regular and the super, the super includes sour cream . Service is amazing and I get helped right away . Only thing I would like to see is if they could offer refried beans

Yelp
Los burritos are so good, we had carnitas and steak and omg! The size is perfect either if you are very hungry or wanna have a snack for later. El agua de Jamaica with mint it's absolutely delicious and fresh, it has the right amount of sweetness we would definitely come back here!

Yelp
We were looking for something different on Sunday and went to Asado's to try their Cali style crispy burritos. It was a little hard to find and I think if we hadn't been looking for it specifically we probably would have missed it. I'm glad we found it because it was delish! I got the super burrito with steak crispy and really enjoyed it. I'm not well versed in California vs Texas style burritos, but rice seems to be one of the distinguishing factors (Asado's currently do not have rice). Personally, I really liked that. Danny, the owner, is a very friendly and receptive person and mentioned that customers have told him they want rice so he's going to be adding that option soon. I also love all the edible plants he had outside his trailer -- mint, basil, purslane, peppers, etc. All around, Asado's is tasty, fresh, and served with a friendly smile. This is my new favorite burrito place.

Yelp
Guys. Guys! Guys!!! Austin finally had a good burrito! I grew up on mission burritos from SF and this scratches the itch completely. I was chatting with the owner and he said he went to San Jose state and lived in various parts of SF and the Bay Area and it shows. The mission influence is there and actually improves upon the legacy. The first bite you can tell this is what tortillas are supposed to taste like. The optional grilled version has the perfect amount of crisp that adds to the flavor. The rice is perfectly balanced, the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned, the cheese adds great flavor and gooey texture to the bed of the experience, the pico and guac combine together to produce a lovely limey flavor and gives you a burst of freshness with the diced onions, and the beans don't overpower with their flavor but give everything they have to offer to complement the whole package. Hands down best burrito in Austin. Worth the trip and will be a repeat customer for a long time. I didn't even finish my burrito before I felt compelled to write this review. Now I must go savor the remainder of this flavor bomb.
