"Most dishes at Asia Market Thai Lao hover between $11 and $12, and almost all are enough for two people to share. The Heights restaurant, which doubles as a Thai grocery store, serves everything fast, hot, and spicy, even if you ask for “mild” spice. And whether you get crispy egg rolls or curry, every dish comes layered with a healthy dose of flavor, funk, and acidity that we can’t get enough of, especially for the price." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

"When you need a few cans of curry paste alongside a fiery serving of pad thai, hit up Asia Market Thai Lao Food. At this combination grocery store and quick-serve Thai restaurant, ordering each dish “mild” might be an option, but don’t expect anything to be devoid of heat. The incredible food here starts spicy, like the pad kra pow, and veers into tangy with a beef laab that makes us wonder why we aren't eating here every day. And because it’s a half-restaurant, half-corner store, a lot of folks grab a quick lunch, popping in and out with sacks of to-go food, and couples squeeze in for a quick, midweek date night." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

"Walking in, you will first notice Asia Market does actually function as a market with fully stocked shelves of Thai and Asian grocery staples, but also as a casual sit down spot. Yeah, Asia Market Thai Lao Food might be wedged on a strip center corner next to an auto supply place, but this combination grocery corner store and quick-serve restaurant dishes up some of the best Thai food in town. In between grabbing cans of coconut milk and bulk Thai tea, grab a seat, some laab, a pad thai, and a drunken noodle or two. Everything here comes out fast, hot, and spicy, no matter if you ask for “mild” spice or not. Nothing here lacks heat, or the pervasive and addictive sour tang prevalent in all great Thai-Lao food. The menu might seem simple, but whether you get crispy egg rolls or curry, every dish comes layered with a healthy dose of flavor, funk, and acidity that we can’t get enough of.  And while the space doesn’t have much charm, apart from the thick spray of colorful fake flowers, it’s comfortable enough. So whether it’s a quick lunch, a low-key date night, or a mid-niche grocery run snack, don’t pass up Asia Market. " - Chelsea Thomas

"Housed inside a market just off of I-45, this quaint restaurant boasts some of the best Thai and Laotian food in Bayou City. The lemongrass chicken nuggets and fermented sausage are a perfect snack before diving into a main course like the red curry with pineapple or a classic pad Thai. Don’t leave without perusing the aisles in the market. You’re sure to find something fun to elevate your next at-home meal." - Brittany Britto Garley

Amazing Lao Cuisine! I recently visited a Lao restaurant and was blown away by the flavors! The Tiger Cry beef was incredibly tender and packed with rich, spicy flavor—definitely a must-try if you like a little heat. The Pineapple Fried Rice was also fantastic—perfectly balanced with sweet and savory notes, and served in a fresh pineapple shell. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was warm and friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!

Google
we wanted to eat Thai food and looked online and they said this place was good so we decided to check it out. it’s a market + restaurant so the vibe is very casual. we started with the drunken noodles with lo mein and tofu, and then got many other dishes. the dish was plentiful in terms of size and flavor. the dish was a bit spicy but not overly spicy so it was good. overall good food, flavor and atmosphere

I was initially skeptical about this small restaurant located in a grocery store, but I was pleasantly surprised. They offered fresh coconut with tender coconut meat! We ordered red curry, pad thai, and drunken noodles, and all three dishes were excellent. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the dessert—mango sticky rice.

Came to explore Asian groceries around Houstan and we discovered this place. The grocery section is very small and has very limited options in term of groceries. Another part of this place served as a small restaurant that serves, of course, thai food. The food is okay and their service is fine but there's lot more room for improvement when it comes to the taste. We tried few dishes and one of it was Tom Yam soup, a dish that Thais are most known with. It was just ok. Nevertheless it's a good experience.

Google
A charming restaurant takes up the first half of the store with the back half of the building containing Asian foods. The menu is easy to read with a good variety of options. The food is really fresh and flavorful and delicious. The Tom Kha soup was exceptional.

Authentic and Spicy!!! Like probably everyone else, Pad Thai and spring rolls are my gauge of most Thai restaurants. Chicken Pad Thai: Volcano spicy! As someone who gets max spice at every restaurant they go to, this is the first time I've actually had to slow down while eating because of the heat. Authentic Thai chili flavor, without being overpowering to the savory sweet of the pad Thai. If you're looking for a Pad Thai that doesn't play with its spice, this is where you should be going. Spring roll: pork Soft, savory, refreshing. Wrapped well while not being too "thic" with the rice wrap like other places. Great ratio of veggies to meat. Overall, if you're looking for an authentic taste of Thai, with the heat to match, this is the place to go. Edit: My only reason for reviewing atmosphere as 4 out of 5 is because the AC is out. I'm Filipino and it honestly gave me that tropical vibe I'm used to in Cavite city, however that's not what I would like to enjoy in the Texas Summer.

Google
After multiple recommendations we stopped in for dinner this is an Asian store with a restaurant as well like a michoacana meat market. The food was really good everything we had was amazing, however the service was very slow they only have like 2 waitress you also have to seat yourselves and the seating area is very small maybe 8 tables for like 30 people. When you finish you have to go pay at counter. Overall its just a very unorganized dining experience. If your in a hurry this is not your spot you will be waiting a lot. The food makes this spot a must try if your not in a hurry.

We had a great date night here! Started with the appetizer sampler and chicken wings—both were delicious. My wife ordered the L3, and I went with the H8 paired with Thai fried rice. She absolutely loved the Thai iced tea and the sticky mango rice for dessert. We definitely ordered more than we could finish, but everything was full of flavor. Service was quick, and the staff were incredibly kind. We’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
This is both a casual sitdown restaurant and small market with a few thai/south east asian ingredients. They have some tables and you are welcome to take a menu and sit down, or you can order takeout by phone or in person. We came to dine in friday night ~7:45 and learned the kitchen closes at 8:15 sunday-friday. We were helped pretty quickly and ordered angel wings, boat noodles, and a red curry. All came out pretty quickly and were excellent. I really enjoyed my boat noodles and have been craving them for a while. Though it may not be the best I've had, the taste/price/portions were great and well worth it for me. The curry was also great and you could really taste the herbs through out the sauce. The angel wings were a slight disappointment as I was expecting stuffed thai chicken wings but they were very well flavored and so crispy that ultimately, I got over my disappointment. I may have found my Houston Thai spot and am excited to come back as the dishes were great and cheap, and I can also pick up some things to cook my own meals at home!

Yelp
My dish was the fermented sausage and my coworker had the larb which is stir fry ground pork and papaya salad. Great flavor, sausage could use some more fermenting but I prefer mine to be more sour. Also cooked longer making it charred as it has more flavor. Not a fan of the papaya salad. It had too much of a crabby flavor to me. Overall will probably try other items if I'm ever there again.

Jannipa K.

Yelp
I was looking for authentic Thai food. This restaurant answered me the correct one. Unfortunately, food flavor easy not stable. The first time I went there, everything was delicious. It was exactly what I looking for but the second time I went there, I order the same thing tum tad with salted crab but the server bought me regular papaya salad with peanut. Chicken had no flavor, need to dip with sweet chili sauce Beef jerky was good and my husband loved beef soup. There is a small market in the restaurant. The restaurant did not have alcohol, you can bring your own bottle.

Woo K.

Yelp
It was good. We had it to take out. Their spice level is intense, so make sure you are careful with how spicy you make it. Flavors were good. Nothing was like the best. None of the dishes made me think of how amazing this is, but everything was fine and good.

Roma B.

Yelp
Casual eatery with a grocery store in the back. Picked up drunken noodles and red curry from here! Portions were good and price was very reasonable. Great spot for take out Thai food.

Anissa A.

Yelp
We will be coming back to this spot to order a medium heat bc the hot sure was a kicker. All of the waiting staff were very kind.

Jeannie K.

Yelp
I had no regulation of the food here anymore, so I tried the boat noodle from my review, and it was OK. Three stars for food and another for service. My friend's Tiger Cry and kee mao noodles looked good though. May also try the curry next time.

Hannah F.

Yelp
I used to really love Asia Market for quick, tasty Thai takeout but unfortunately the quality has really gone downhill. On the last several occasions that I have ordered, dishes have been missing several key ingredients. I ordered the tofu massaman curry and it was unfortunately prepared without any potatoes, sliced onion or peanuts. It just came as a curry sauce with carrots and tofu cubes. The Tom Kha soup (ordered without chicken) came as just the coconut broth with sliced mushrooms. Sad. Looks like I need to find a new takeout spot.

Rachel I.

Yelp
This unassuming market is a gem! I didn't know if its existence until a friend told me about it and we went and I'm so sad I didn't know about it earlier! There may not be a lot of frills but--as with this place--it's often a sign of the presence of amazing food! We walked in and found a table and the server greeted us. I was quickly overwhelmed with the amount of mouthwatering options. We ended up getting the beef jerky and soft spring rolls with shrimp for an appetizer and they were delicious! I opted for the Yentafo Pink with tofu for my meal since I never heard of it and it looked interesting. I was not disappointed! (Although I may have burnt my tongue trying to devour it too quickly....) The whole thing had great flavor and I enjoyed the tofu which was very flavorful (pretty sure it was fried before going in!). There was also plenty of cabbage and minced garlic adding to the deliciousness. Overall can't wait to come back and try more of the items on the menu! Oh and there's a market for Thai/Lao items/snacks in the back to check out!

Yelp
Feb 7, 2024 came in from Galveston for lunch. Quaint little place. Clean. I had the Thai Lao bowl #11 with chicken [medium heat] I had spring rolls. My friend had some kind of meatball soup...hot level It was good ...but, not as flavorful as I like

Brittany E.

Yelp
This place seems to be super authentic. It's both a restaurant and a Thai/Lao market. Our servers were very attentive and helpful as we decided what to eat. We split some steamed pork dumplings which were good. My boyfriend got the Yentafo Pink Noodles. It was a super interesting noodle soup that we had never had and definitely something we would order again. I got the Kao Nam Tod which was not what I expected but was even better. It's like they took fried rice and threw it on a grill to get it super crispy and crunch. The flavor reminded me of Tom Yum soup too. I really enjoyed it. If we lived in Houston, we would be regulars here for sure.

B Dub N.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Very authentic and full of flavor. Smaller place with ample seating. Get here early because it gets busy. Definite thumbs up. My go to for Thai/Lao food.

Henry Y.

Yelp
For some reason it makes sense to operate your restaurant out of a grocery store. It just feels right in a city like Houston, or LA for that matter. **Note, my rating is solely based on the khao soi I ordered. Please do check it out if you're going to order something else!** Very solid Thai food, the spice level true to form, so stick with mild if you can't handle it well. The khao soi was good, with most of the ingredients I'd expect. I was most disappointed by the lack of a chicken drumstick but chicken chunks that were on the dry-side. Flavor is there and the prices are more than fair. Personally, I like Street Food Thai Market more, it's just 5 min / 1.5 miles away. However, definitely give this place a try and make the decision yourself, thank god for Houston!

Thao N.

Yelp
The beef jerky here was the best damn thing I ate all day. God, I love hole in the wall places. This place is located inside a grocery store, how brilliant, if they need ingredients, they can just grab it off the shelf. The beef jerky came with some sort of dipping sauce but personally, it's slapping on it's own. Also ordered pad kee mao and tom saep to balance out a deep fried protein dish, a carb dish, and a soup dish. Prices are very inexpensive and they come out on those super Asian dishes that I remember eating out of as a kid. I would come back here if I was back in Houston. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Annalisa P.

Yelp
I had this place bookmarked for a while. I was craving Pad See Ew and wanted to try a new place. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and the 5 pc crispy egg rolls that came with a filling choice with and without meat. I chose the veggie & pork filling. I liked the sauce for the egg rolls. It's similar to what you usually dip Vietnamese egg rolls in and wrap with lettuce. Not as sweet as duck sauce, which I also enjoy. The egg rolls were crispy and faired well in the air fryer to make them crispy again the next day. It's mostly the wrap and not as much veggie and pork filling. The Pad See Ew had a nice stir fry flavor that comes from a wok, but it lacked in other flavors. There wasn't enough sauce. I ordered mild since I read reviews that the medium was too spicy. I should've ordered medium because the mild was basically nothing. I like that the chicken was sliced thin, and they used Chinese broccoli. I had to doctor up the noodles in my own wok and added cayenne pepper, red chili flakes, and oyster sauce since it lacked the sweetness that Pad See Ew usually has a bit of but not quite like Pad Thai. I ordered via Door Dash, so I can't speak to the restaurant service, but the food was delivered quickly and was still hot. Pricing for Pad See Ew is actually on the cheaper end compared to Mint Thai, Nara Thai, and Nua Thai.

Dominique N.

Yelp
Maybe I'm just biased, but it tastes almost exactly like my grandma's food, who was born and raised in Thailand. This is in regard to the traditional Thai food options. I will have to get back to you on other menu items. The menu is pretty large with multiple dessert options. I like the atmosphere even though it is nothing fancy. It's always pretty packed during normal dining hours, so plan accordingly! This has quickly become my go-to place to remind me of family. The little market part is fun too and you can pick up snacks to try later or Thai bakery items.

China D.

Yelp
Another one of the best thai places in the loop. If you are looking for a no nonsense thai joint that has perfected the classics, this is your place. If you are not a spicy food lover be careful with their heat levels! they are definitely on the thai spicy side - even the mild had my nose running. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I only wish they loaded our pad see ew with more broccoli. I can definitely see the place filling up quickly inside for lunch and dinner, and it's on the cozier side for Houston.

Kim N.

Yelp
Omgg I love Thai Food so this is one of the best Thai Food in town. It is a Thai Market , and it was very busy at lunch time and close very early. I will comeback and try more food here

Ruby D.

Yelp
I've been coming here with my family for years, have introduced many boyfriends, friends, colleagues - everyone loves it. I feel like I have a good grasp on thai food in Houston at this point and this is by far my favorite. I like that it is no frills, truly. Hole in the wall, between a whataburger and an O'Reilly autoparts with few tables inside of a grocery store essentially. This food satisfies alll my thai spice cravings. They do spicy actually spicy. Always get the papaya salad, some variation of rice noodles, and a curry depending on what I'm feeling. Love eating it family style *the only way to do things IMO* They're always busy with to go orders but service is always great.

Susan R.

Yelp
Great little place, tucked away by an auto parts store and fast food burger place. I walked in and they are packed full yet it's not hectic. At least four young staff taking care of people and they're doing an excellent job. Staff is friendly and efficient. I didn't have just one person waiting on me, everyone that walked by cared about my experience. Food is good. I ordered the Tom kha soup. I asked for a cup of the Tom yum soup and they happily brought it. Both soups are solid!! The Thai custard and sweet rice is pretty amazing! I'll be back. Great place to eat and I'm glad I found it.

Mynika C.

Yelp
After hearing (and reading) so many people rave about Asia Market Thai Lao Food, I had to make my way over. I stopped in on a Thursday evening after work. The place wasn't packed and I was able to place my order quickly. I took some time to go over the menu first. I ordered veggie crispy egg rolls and pad kee mao (veggie). I didn't love the crispy egg rolls they were a bit bland for me. The pad kee mao was delicious though. The food was fresh and hot- the way I like my meals to be! I'll definitely return to try some additional items from the menu. I love that you can shop for authentic Thai food ingredients to cook with, given that this is an actual market. The customer service was good also. One last thing- the prices here are very reasonable/affordable. I don't think I've ever paid so little for Thai food that's actually cooked well.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
(3.5 star) Ka ree puff - $7.5, 5/5, loved this appetizer, super flavorful filling and the outside was perfectly crispy and flaky Chicken satay - $7.5, 1/5, not sure how it's supposed to taste like but it was dry and lacking flavor, I was drowning it in the peanut sauce (needed more sauce) Parang curry with chicken - $12, 3/5, curry was good, not particularly special but felt like it needed more chicken Pad Thai with beef - $11, 2/5, wish the noodles were bigger/wider, never had a pad Thai that tasted like this, it was ok. Beef didn't seem very high quality Pad Khing with chicken - $11, -/5, we ordered this hot spice level and I personally couldn't handle it so I couldn't judge it fairly, my friends seemed to enjoy it. Prices are good but food reflects the price. Service was great! Refilled our waters a lot. Pay at the front after you're done & they will split your bill however you like! Parking was easy on weekend at 6pm, not sure how it is at other times.

Sonya E.

Yelp
Had lunch here as this was the only spot I found with Lao influenced dishes in Houston. I ordered the following to taste test -- 1) Papaya Salad - Lao Style - Extra Spicy - with Green Beans 2) Tom Yum Soup with Seafood - Extra Spicy 3) Tiger Cry - Medium Rare (I know this dish as Crying Tiger as a Californian). Let me tell y'all, these guys are the real deal. The Uncle or Auntie chefs in the kitchen have to be from Southeast Asia because there is no way those recipes are not from generations of perfecting the Thai and Lao cuisine. The authenticity, spices, and flavors married with the quality and presentation of those dishes simply make up the perfect storm. The Tom Yum soup had a generous amount of spices, herbs, and lemongrass -- each bite was infused with so much sweet and sour flavor that it became addicting. The Lao style papaya salad had the right crab paste and fish sauce ratios making it true to the roots of its origin. I loved how it was spicy as I requested but not unbearable where it was hard to enjoy. Everything I ordered was true to taste and exceeded my expectations by far. Service was quick and friendly. Oh and bonus: these guys are also a mini supermarket with spices, sauces, noodles and more on the back shelves for sale. Further, there is a frozen meat and fish section that I didn't look too deep into. At any rate, stop in for a meal that will blow your tastebuds away and get some pantry stocking shopping in too. Plenty of seating for groups large or small to enjoy!

Big V.

Yelp
This establishment stands out as the most authentic Thai cuisine available in the area. Having visited Thailand on numerous occasions, I have developed a keen appreciation for the region's culinary traditions. The restaurant's exceptional attention to detail in preparing authentic Thai dishes, including the meticulous selection of chilies and heat levels, is truly commendable. Additionally, the staff's warm and friendly demeanor enhances the overall dining experience. A great joint with a small grocery.

Dee D.

Yelp
Panang Curry w chicken. Pork and shrimp eggrolls. Lemongrass nuggets. Curry fried rice. Are a few of the things that I've tried here. The spicy sauces are just that. I am working on working my way up to the extra spicy. I'm at regular hot for the moment. Service was good each time I've been. Food came out really fast. And it was always crowded. I love it.

Thomas S.

Yelp
My wife and I dropped in for lunch and also picked up two dishes for dinner. For lunch, I had the beef Mama egg noodle and my wife had a type of beef stew with eggplant and green bean. My beef egg noodle tasted delicious with just a touch of over saltiness. However, the beef was not tender, very hard to chew. My wife's beef stew was very water down. It was more like a soup consistency. The sliced beef was not tender, very chewy. There were barely any eggplant and green beans. My wife liked the taste of the broth, though. We ordered the salty fish fried rice and pork lamb to go. We also picked up pork jerky for snacks. Pork jerky was excellent. It was tender, sweet and salty with a hint of heat, delicious. The salty fish fried rice was the star of the show. The rice was cooked perfectly and the salted fish was not overpowering. The pork laab was just ok, kind of bland actually. Prices were inexpensive and service was excellent. We had not decided rather to give it another shot if we are in the area.

Chris V.

Yelp
We saw the end of the local eat show. We heard "Asian Market", googled it and Asian Market Thai Lao Food came up. Before heading out, we double checked and noticed a similar establishment. We decided to go to the Thai Lao because there were more options. The dinning area isn't big so we lucked out with table. We received menu, water, plates and silverware quickly. Within a few minutes, we placed our orders. They asked for our spice level. We asked for thai spicy for all of our dishes. We tried the Lemongrass Chicken Nuggets, which were deep fried. They weren't oily but we tend to avoid fried food. You can taste the lemongrass. We also tried Fish Laab with an order of sticky rice. It didn't pack the punch of flavor that we were hoping. The sticky rice was dried and hard so that was a disappointment. The last dish that we checked out was the Kaeng Phed Nor Mai with chicken. It was good but not a must-try dish. We also ordered kee mao noodle with tofu just in case we didn't like the others. It was the best dish, only wished there was more tofu and Thai basil. Their thai spicy had heat but it wasn't unbearable. Overall, good experience and reasonably priced. If we are in the area, we would definitely go back.

Lynn M.

Yelp
Order take out. Cute little space and had space to eat there. We got everything medium (this was a little spicy for my husband but a perfect amount of spice for me). Vegetable egg rolls: this was fresh and crispy Crab fried rice: this was a little salty for me but my husband enjoyed it Beef pad Thai : this was good . Dumplings: these were okay. They are chicken and soft Red curry: this came with a very small side of fried rice and a giant container of red curry Thai iced tea: so good it was the perfect amount of sweetness

Mikey W.

Yelp
Such a local gem! This place is tucked inside an asian market and has such a unique atmosphere. The service was very friendly and attentive and I got my food in short order. I ordered the Panang curry with chicken medium spice and it definitely packed a punch. Will definitely be coming back there to try some of the other flavors.

Gary C.

Yelp
My rating from a few years ago dropped. While the food remains as tasty the prices, like at most restaurants, have increases. That is not the reason of my drop in score. If the prices go up that's fine, yet the service is not as good. The lady's service food or cleaning don't even let you know to just take a seat and your standing at the door along with the line of Togo orders. I like Asia Market but if this continues there are other restaurants... come on this is Houston!

Colette M.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food, had take out but I know they were busy on Friday night! The cold Thai Tea was delish--obviously it's different anywhere you go--it was a 6/10 Tea wise. The Pad Ew was great, as was the other dish! Panang was good too.

James K.

Yelp
We had takeout recently and really enjoyed the food. I was frustrated that none of the delivery services suggested through website would work. Everything was savoury and fresh tasting. We tried the green curry, a noodle dish and a few appetizers and were so happy. Quick easy pick up order based on their websites. Although it felt like menus was smaller than in person. Not a problem for me but the spice level was a bit higher than expected by some. Medium was already getting hot. We will certainly order again.

Sunny A.

Yelp
Tom yum soup was flavorful bustling with spice satay chicken was ok but not to die for pineapple fried rice was good but curry made an impact on flavor forget the service n enjoy the food half market half restaurant but overall go ahead n try the good food

Candy C.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. We were greeted as we walked in, offered seats and given menus. They brought water to the table. LAAB - meaty and I am guessing lemongrass flavor, Kee Mao Noodle- My fav Kee Mao Noodle - lots of flavor soft with a tiny chew, Crab Fried Rice - tasty, green curry - we got medium a little spice- nice flavor and creamy good balance with curry & coconut milk, and fried tilapia - it was crispy but needed a sauce. It's a grocery story turned restaurant - family friendly atmosphere but limited on tables. I will definitely be back.

Julie L.

Yelp
I've had this on my list of bookmarks for a minute, and I'm so happy I got to finally try it! My friend and I tried: -crab fried rice - I don't normally eat much rice, but this was actually really flavorful and full of crab -tiger cry steak - I loved the marinade on this, bonus points b/c the steak was made perfectly -crispy egg rolls - this was just average to me, I wouldn't get it again -thai tea - this was comped because the worker saw how spicy we were eating, so I'm super grateful :') but ultimately, this was more milky than I'd like The staff was incredibly friendly and super helpful as I asked for recs and knew I ate spicy, so they brought out an entire tray of spices (chili oil, pickled peppers, dry spice, etc). They do NOT mess w/ their spices here, spicy actually means spicy, yalll. Can't wait to come back to try their other dishes! (:

Kaitlin O.

Yelp
Hands down the best Thai food that I've had in Houston. It's a simple shop with a grocery store in the back where you can buy a variety of Asian and Thai ingredients to make your own noodles or curry. I've tried a bunch of dishes and my favorite noodle dishes are the pad kee mao and pad see ew. The pad Thai is a little more saucy than the other ones that I've had. You can choose your desired spice level, but just a warning- medium spicy is a lot spicer than you would think, so I think the mild is the perfect spice level. Of the rice dishes, is the pineapple fried rice. The food comes out very quickly and the staff are all friendly as well. Only complaint is that in the summer, it gets pretty warm in the restaurant even with the fans running.

Rohit G.

Yelp
It's no lie that there are a ton of great Thai food options in Houston. However, Asia Market Thai Lao is a cut above. I ordered a pad thai and a pad see ew to-go. There's plenty of parking out front and to the side of the place, and my food was ready quickly. The pad thai is the best I have had in Houston. It's so flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. I would recommend getting the mild and then asking for spice on the side so you can put the dry or the Thai chili oil to your taste. The pad see ew was similarly amazing. Portions on each of the entrees were large and the value was good (~$12 for each). Be sure to ask your server for the tray of spices to try their chili oil, dry spice, and everything else you can add to your dish (not that it even needs anything added).

Yelp
With some of the most authentic Thai Laotian food in Houston, this place is not your usual restaurant. They are a grocery store with a tasty kitchen and a few tables with a delicious menu of freshly cooked food to server you. The people are polite and it seems like they love what they do. Beware of their spice levels- even if you think you can handle spice, think well before going beyond medium!

Yelp
Came here on a week day night with a friend. I've tried the other competitor (similar name on Calvacade) several times and wanted to see how this compared. I'd say this location is just as good, but I definitely have to try other dishes to really compare. My friend has a low spice tolerance so we ordered mild for everything, but I think this is a great indicator of how the taste really is without spice overpowering the dish. The service was great, friendly and quick. They come around with little servings of their hot sauces to adjust to your preference. Ka ree puff - chicken curry puffs were good and they came out hot and fresh. Would recommend. Pad see ew with tofu - I thought this was the better dish of the two noodles we ordered. Flavorful even though mild. Didn't taste sweet, which is what I liked. Tofu cooked well. Would recommend. Pad Thai with shrimp - mild spice but it tasted more sweet than I liked... might have to try their medium spice next time. Would try one more time before deciding to recommend or pass. Mango & sticky rice - rice wasn't as sticky as I anticipated. Too much liquid, almost soupy. Mango was sweet though. Not sure if I would get it again. Thai iced tea - I'm very picky with my Thai iced teas and I felt like this was too milky and not enough tea. Wouldn't get this again. Overall, would come back again and try the other dishes. Service was quick and friendly. Parking isn't too bad. There's a small little market with snacks, curries, noodles, etc. Come here hungry. :)

Yelp
If you want to eat Thai food, look at Yelp. This restaurant has good reviews. Must try again. I ordered Tom saep ,Tiger cry, Som Tum , sticky rice, Thai coffee and Thai tea. Everything is delicious, price is ok. Tom saep and Tiger cry comes with rice too. Eat full enough in one set. But if you want to eat it more deliciously, then you have to eat it with sticky rice. I recommend this restaurant. It's really delicious. Clean bathrooms and very good service.

Yelp
The green curry and panang curries had a really great flavor but were thin and watery. I came several years ago and was disappointed at the curry, and was told it had to have been a one off. It wasn't. BUT- that Pad Kee Mao is the best I've ever had. Absolutely delicious! I want to try a lot of other of their menu items but will likely avoid their curries.

Yelp
This has become one of my favorite Thai spots in Houston. The ka ree puff was a nice and crispy appetizer that started off the meal well, though it was a bit filling! I'm usually more of a pad thai person but the pad see ew here blew me away. It had a flavor and spice profile that beats any other pad see ew I've had. Definitely my favorite dish here for sure. Of course, the tofu pad thai was solid as well. I enjoyed how saucy the noodles were. As for the papaya salad, it was delicious but SOO spicy. I can't remember if we got hoot or Thai hot but either way I had to drink so much water and Thai tea to offset the spiciness! It was an addicting kind of spice though and I would definitely get it again. I loved that it came with cabbage to wrap the papaya in. I'm a huge fan of this place now and I hope to try less basic dishes the next time I come.

Yelp
Ordered on doordash. I think their oil is a little old. My fried dumplings and wings were very dark and tasted old. The pad see ew was pretty good and with medium it was a good spice but the basil fried rice with mild had an old basil taste with little flavor without the spice. I do want to come visit the market for ingredients but the kitchen seems a little old.

Yelp
Ate here last night at 6pm and it was not crowded. Huge variety of authentic Thai/Lao foods. I ordered the lemongrass chicken nuggets, pad ka prao and kee mao noodle. They did not disappoint and worth the hype. All tasted good, only thing is the chicken needs more salt seasoning other than that all good. Friendly service make you feel like you at home. Food also came fast. Reasonable price. Would definitely go back to try their other menus. Food 8/10 Service 9/10 Ambience 8/10 Price 8.5/10

Yelp
One of our favorite go-to places for delicious Thai cuisine. The flavor is unbeatable and very authentic. Vibe is very down to earth, casual, family owned and operated, we love the atmosphere that is different from the vast majority of Thai restaurants in the greater houston area- definitely a hole in the wall. We enjoyed the Pad Thai w Tofu (hot!) and the Pad Kee Mao (mild) and the self serve chili oil, pickled Thai chilis, chili flakes, that are all offered in addition to your spice level- Perfect for those that like a bit of extra heat in their meal! We appreciated the very quick service despite a busy night they got us seated and served very quickly. Perfect place for carry out as well! We look forward to coming back more often to try their curry dishes! Tip- they can make your dish vegan- we really appreciated this because often Thai restaurants have fish sauce premade in their curry and other dishes so you cannot modify that. Thai Lao was very vegetarian and vegan friendly and adjusted our orders to be vegan, a huge plus!! Parking is with the autozone lot, so it can get busy at times, but is manageable!

Yelp
Great find! The food was tasty and delicious, the staff were very kind. The restaurant is tucked away on a corner you would never expect.

Yelp
Delicious food at a casual market/cafe. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Can't go wrong with anything here, but we loved the pad kee mow, papaya salad, green curry, and chicken laab. Unlike other Thai restaurants, the mild spicy here is actually no heat so order accordingly

Yelp
Wow. The food is so good here. Thai tea - very authentic but a tad too sweet. Thai fried rice - wet fried rice and full of flavor Massamum curry - great portion size, needs a little more flavor but the chicken was so moist. Glass noodles - probably the favorite. We added tofu and the tofu was fried and good. Must go back and try more places.
