Organic craft beer, burgers and seafood from Local Tide

"Aslan Brewing’s newest taproom is now open in Tangletown. Along with cocktails and natural wine, you’ll find a robust lineup of beers, including German pilsners and hazy IPAs. And the food menu leans heavily on seafood, with options like fried oysters, fish and chips, and chorizo-topped steamed clams." - kayla sager riley, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo

"In a city where brewery-hopping is a patio sport, Aslan Brewing comes in handy during the cold and drippy months. Their Fremont outpost is a cross between a taproom and the living room of that one friend who has unbelievably good luck on Facebook Marketplace—there’s tons of comfortable couches, hanging plants, and almost always a friendly dog present. Come here to drink peppery IPA with friends or have a solo WWB (work with beer) day when you’re in the mood for gingery pale ales instead of coffee. Plus, Aslan shares space with Local Tide next door, so you can order tasty shrimp toast and smashburgers directly from the bar." - Kayla Sager-Riley

"I was excited to see a well-regarded, certified organic brewery from Bellingham, WA open its long-awaited new taproom in Fremont on North 36th Street, not too far from the Lenin statue. The cozy space has an almost modern log cabin-like aesthetic, with tables and a bar made of reclaimed wood from an old barn, trippy artwork on the walls, and a TV for sports watching. Most importantly, the taps are flowing with several popular Aslan standbys — including the nutty B’ham brown ale — plus two newer fall lagers: the Oktoberfest-style Das Boot and the crisp, fresh-hop helles Kellerbier. Located in the Cedar Speedster building, the taproom will also share barrel-aged projects, seasonal beers, and one-off creations usually not available in the Seattle market, and it has an adjacent space for extra equipment and standing room. Dogs are welcome, it’s 21+ (so leave the kids at home), and happy hour runs 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day — a much more convenient and social option for Seattleites than driving up to Bellingham or buying a Batch 15 six-pack at the grocery store." - Gabe Guarente

"I’m excited that Bellingham-based Aslan Brewing Company — known for its popular organic beers with the signature lion labels — is opening a new, more intimate taproom in Fremont’s Cedar Speedster building; the space seats about 30 and will share some barrel-aged projects, seasonal beers, and one-off creations not usually available in Seattle, and when it opens there will be sandwiches from Salumi plus items from a new seafood restaurant called Local Tide that will share a window with the taproom." - Gabe Guarente
