"I was excited to see a well-regarded, certified organic brewery from Bellingham, WA open its long-awaited new taproom in Fremont on North 36th Street, not too far from the Lenin statue. The cozy space has an almost modern log cabin-like aesthetic, with tables and a bar made of reclaimed wood from an old barn, trippy artwork on the walls, and a TV for sports watching. Most importantly, the taps are flowing with several popular Aslan standbys — including the nutty B’ham brown ale — plus two newer fall lagers: the Oktoberfest-style Das Boot and the crisp, fresh-hop helles Kellerbier. Located in the Cedar Speedster building, the taproom will also share barrel-aged projects, seasonal beers, and one-off creations usually not available in the Seattle market, and it has an adjacent space for extra equipment and standing room. Dogs are welcome, it’s 21+ (so leave the kids at home), and happy hour runs 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day — a much more convenient and social option for Seattleites than driving up to Bellingham or buying a Batch 15 six-pack at the grocery store." - Gabe Guarente
