Giving 2 stars: 1 for the nice seating outside and 1 for the effort to open early on Sunday morning. 0 stars for the coffee that was weaker then deli coffee. 0 stars for the almond croissant that looked really good but when I took a bite it was so dry that it fell apart and ended up on the floor and 0 stars for the service that turned their back to me even before I paid, I guess I should have walked away without paying but that’s not my style. My recommendation is to buy coffee and pastry somewhere else then enjoy the outside seating, the staff don’t seem to care.

This my first review and I had to make a review because this place is no good…. Order 2 quiche, 1 croissant sandwich , 4 americanos and a very plain croissant.. total? $52 and it wasn’t very good. The croissant was plain, I’m out of town visiting but I been to others in NY where they toast it and it’s crisp with a nice glaze on top. This place here give you the croissant plain out the container. Costco croissant would be better than this. To make it worse, I had food poisoning and I can’t help but to think it came from here. It was the quiche, it was still very cold after heating it up for only a minute which is not long enough. Only thing that was good was the coffee. Customer service was bad, they kept forgetting out stuff. I had to ask for my croissant which they forget and I had to ask for another coffee and I had to ask yet again for the other quiche

I had their bread and a slice of cake. The Opera cake was fine, delicious but not outstanding. However, I recommend their 🥐croissant and 🥯bagel! So what happen to the 🥐❤️‍🔥croissant? Call the chef out! It was suuuuperrrrrr delicious! So flaky and crispy outside, while the inner part was so soft, springy, and moist. How come you only open a store in Astoria? 🥯The bagel was good too! After heated up, it had soft and chewy texture with a crispy edge. Cinnamon roll was ok, I would not recommend but nothing wrong with it.

Great neighborhood bakery/Cafe. Love their coffee, come here multiple times a week for my iced coffee fix. Staff here is always amazing, kind and friendly. Have always been so extremely nice to my daughter who always wants to stop by for a cake pop and for moms favorite, the Tiramisu.

Cute neighborhood bakery. They have cakes, cupcakes and coffee including frappé. Nice staff and cozy feel. Unfortunately the cupcakes I got were not very fresh and the cream wasn’t creamy. The frappé and cream puffs were delicious though!

So happy they redesigned this bakery it looks so beautiful and clean inside. I have lived in astoria almost 10 years and it was until recently that I started coming here. The staff is really nice and the desserts are delicious! I love there pumpkin spice iced latte,cookies,ham croissant. I recently picked up an apple pie to bring to a friend's BBQ everyone raved about how good it was. It wasn't overly sweet which we all enjoyed ! I also just picked up the truffles and some mini cupcakes for my bday party they too were a huge hit!

Have tried this place several times and given them many chances. All times mediocre or subpar, and too expensive. This is not a luxury bakery to be charging luxury prices. On our most recent visit we got almond croissant and a pistachio cream croissant. Both were stale and bready. Basically bread rolls at about 5 bucks each. On our visit prior they were selling valentine's day cookies in late march at full price. They are cutting corners for profit. Will not return.

Saw this cute store on my way to therapy, stopped and made an order for custom cake with my company's logo and 12 cupcakes (blue/orange) for an event I was hosting as I am an event coordinator at LaGuardia airport. What an embarrassment, ax I opened to see my order, unfinished cupcakes (no frosting), cake was not near the picture I provided her. Paid $108. called and not even an apology also stating that this was brought to them, meaning they do not bake or make Custom cakes. This is what I got for not going to Martha's Country Bakery!! Please read reviews before buying, never again!

This is a great little bakery and Café located on Dipmar's Boulevard corner of 45th St. It's been a business since 1964 and provides a wide variety of bake goods including cakes and cookies along with pastries. They have an amazing assortment of croissants and other bakery goods for breakfast. Give the Apple tart a try as well as the mozzarella and tomato croissant. Both were delightful; they make great coffee too, so if you're in Astoria, give this place a try.

I will start with the good: almond croissant is delicious and they have good bread. The not so good: cappuccino was weak. I tried giving it another try by asking for an additional shot and it just made it bitter but no real coffee/espresso flavor. They should consider changing their brand. My teen daughter who is obsessed with cupcakes and sweets said theirs weren't palatable because they were too sweet! After taking a bite of the cupcake I had to agree! Why?! Lastly, I just tried a selection of their mini tarts/desserts yesterday, courtesy of a friend who picked some up for me .... lovely presentation... unfortunately can't say the same about the taste ... I tried the mini lemon meringue tart and tasted super eggy! Think I'll just stick to their almond croissants and.breads :/

What an upgrade! Astoria Bakery is the cleanest coffee cafe in the neighborhood. It's a totally different shop than what the owners bought it as. The cannolis and Oreo truffles are crazy delish. My friend is addicted to the raspberry cookies. We are regulars here and the women who help us have noticed. The treats are endless and always the freshest they can be. Watch carefully as the bakers are in and out putting out the freshest batch of each treat. Yum! The rewards program is great, for every 100 points spent you earn one $6.50 coupon that can be used on anything in the cafe. It's all digital, just type in your phone number when checking out to earn and redeem your points. Come in on a Saturday morning (mask, please) to grab a mini cheese spinach pie and a latte. You won't be disappointed.

This unassuming bakery is a hidden gem. The decor and eating space is standard, they have a spacious outdoor space that's comfortable even in rain. The food and coffee are amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. A friend was visiting and we were looking to get her her first NYC meal and on a whim we came here and we were lucky we did because it was a great meal.

On our way to another location, we got off at the bus stop which put us right in front of this bakery. Simple shop with cakes, muffins, brownies, cookies, donuts, etc. lined up behind glass. Lots of enticing options to choose from, but settled on a simple Sugared Jelly Donut ($1.50). Soft donut with a sweet punch from the sugar on top - jelly inside is your standard grape variety. Finished the thing in about four bites and was on our way. Again, good location plus quick service. Would come by once more if in the neighborhood.

I got our wedding cake from here and it was beautiful. We came about a month before the big day and got to taste different flavors and finally decided on what we wanted. The girl who was helping us was super helpful and nice. We went through many pictures to decide what design we would like, after using some of their ideas and ours we came out with the perfect design for us. Our cake look great the day of the wedding.

Really great cookies. I'm addicted. Their rainbow cookies with jam and with cannoli cream are fantastic. I usually dislike cannoli cream but this was well done. Counter person was also really sweet. I will be coming back for more cookies. My toddler son ate all of his sugar cookie which was gifted by the bakery. Toddler approved so I'm all for them!

As I was walking from my storage unit I noticed this beautiful decorated bakery. I went in and decided to check it out. Antonia was so pleasant. She gave me a warm welcome and didnt care if I was just looking. Her great personality and sweet eyes convinced me to support this beautiful bakery. Mind you everything looks fresh, sterile and aesthetics pleasing. I wish the best success to this bakery as they opened during the pandemic. Please check them out. You won't be disappointed. I ordered a few raspberry filled cookies the first time. Today, I ordered a Freddo Espresso and a sweet tart. Everything was delicious. Thanks again Antonia! Nice to see some places opening up during this time! Checked this place out twice so far. Though I am trying to cut down on sweets, some days you just need a fix! I tried a mini Tiramisu, which was very good. The second time I went in was after I saw they had frozen hot chocolate on their Instagram! Will definitely come back to try their other drink options (this girl needs to be constantly caffeinated!)

This is a charming little space with a lot of outdoor seating on the corner of the street. They have a variety of cookies with fruit filling or chocolate and other desserts like tartes. I got a few biscotti from here and loved them because they were soft and easy to bite into. I also got an iced latte which was decent but not very strong, it was very milky -- so if you like strong coffee I would get extra espresso shots.

Not only did they look good but they tasted delicious. The staff and chef is accommodating and very friendly. Pricing is reasonable. This is my go to spot for all my customized cakes. Had high hopes for this place with a re-opening. Unfortunately I was let down. We walked in and wanted to get an egg sandwich and coffee, but we found out they don't offer eggs. After finding that out, we try to order a corn muffin with butter, the urban truffles, and coffee. When we asked if we could have the corn muffin toasted, the girl said no. There was a toaster right behind her - which made no sense. Then she asked me what size coffee I wanted. As listed on the menu, I said 12 oz and she just kept asking what size. I said the 12oz and she responded oh the small. Why have the size coffees in oz if your staff doesn't know oz measurements. When I tried to order the truffles, I was told I could only order a cone of them. Once again, let down. The ambiance and set up is beautiful, but that's as far as it goes with this place. Iced dark roast - not bad. They are bound to lose business if they repeatedly say no and don't have basic requests such as toast a muffin, butter, individual dessert treats...so upsetting.

Ironically I came here because I wanted to support a local business. The bakery is cute and the people that work at the front have been very polite with me . However, my one star is being placed because I've been waiting to hear back from the owner. I placed an order for a cake for my daughter's baptism a day in advance and was given confirmation that a basic carrot cake with flowers as a decoration would be possible, prior to making my payment. To my surprise the cake was not made and I was given the one that was on display the day prior with a carrot as opposed to a flower as decoration. If I had been told this in advance I would've gone to Paris Baguette. I've attempted to speak with the owner twice and am told that he is busy opening a new bakery in Manhattan. If you are looking to support a business that values you as a customer I'm so disheartened to say I made a mistake thinking this was it.

What can I say about this bakery...well their customer service is amazing, their prices are great and the baked good are delicious. I ordered a cake for my moms 60th birthday and it was not only a hit but a neck breaker! Everyone couldn't stop looking at it. The staff was amazing, from Jackie who took my order and gave my daughter complimentary cookies the day we ordered to the big Italian guy who helped me carry my cake to the car! I went back and forth whether to post this. First, please notice that I gave AB&C four stars. The decor is excellent, the people inside are very nice and everything I have had - iced coffee, cookies and the shake I just murdered - are excellent. I want this place to succeed. It's one of three places close to me (Krave, Loukoumi) that I have tried to support during the pandemic, even when I'm not working. If what I write below doesn't bother you, then consider this a 5 star review and please support them. I mean that. So, there is one thing that really disappoints me. And this is after I just got home from there. There is a sign outside...a rather nice one...asking people to wear a mask inside. This is obviously out of respect to the employees and patrons. I've been inside multiple times when there were customers without masks. It happened again today, so I politely mentioned something (I believe to the owner, not sure...super nice guy). He was brutally honest with me, which I appreciate, when he told me that he's afraid they'll lose customers and/or get bad Yelp reviews if something is said to customers who don't wear masks. I know businesses are struggling. I understand where this is coming from. But one, the sign is just a facade then. Two, it's a slap in the face to customers who wear masks - and the employees who risk their health to work there. I'd have more respect for the answer if the sign wasn't there. But to be afraid of someone who might post a bad Yelp review because you asked them to put on a mask? C'mon. Most normal people would read that bad review and move on. Again, I understand his point of view from a business standpoint. But as a customer, I am not sure what to do, whether to support it anymore. This isn't the only business who does it. Krave does as well, as do many others. For folks like me, we have to accept that many folks won't wear masks. But I don't have to accept when a business posts a sign that says they care and then doesn't execute caring...even if for their own employees. Which sucks. I really, really like the place. But I'm supporting places while not working and this is so disappointing. Apologies for the long post.

Let me just get out of the way that they make quality pastries and have a nice selection of coffee items, but I unfortunately cannot patronize this establishment any longer. My wife and I witnessed what we're assuming is an owner (since he walked behind the counter and into the back) and another man walk in without masks on. One corrected himself and placed a mask over his face but the older gentleman made no effort to correct his behavior nor acknowledge my wife when she called it out. Twice. The bakers in the back then lowered their masks to speak with this gentleman, all within feet of customers. This shows they have no respect for the community they operate in. Over 4,000 people died yesterday from a virus that's mostly transmitted via respiratory droplets. Come on, guys. Do better.

Astoria Bakery is a nice family run business that has been serving the Ditmars area for the better part of 45 years. This place doesn't get as much kudos as nearby rival Martha's Country Bakery or La Guli but they still serve a decent variety of old school Italian treats and desserts. Food always tastes best fresh. Their "just out of the oven" times usually in the mornings and afternoons, when during most of the day they're in the back making up fresh batches of everything from mini-cakes to depleted cannolis. The college looking girl (daughter?!) seems to be in the front often with a cute smile and friendly service enough to keep waiting customers happy while giving thorough explanations of every item. Generally their fruit tarts and little cakes are what keep me coming back. Cannolis and various sweet breads are also pretty decent. The prices are also pretty solid, ranging from $1-3 per item and each one is fairly big. I will say I'm not a fan of the mini cupcakes or most of their cookies. The dryness of the cookies and overly crunchy texture has kept me from wanting more. Another negative is the fact they close so early every day, leaving only Ditmars locals to sample their goods. With Martha's opening till midnight on some nights, it's no wonder they're getting the bulk of the attention.

We got our sons first birthday cake here. They told us we could have exactly what we wanted no matter what it was. We got yellow cake with chocolate butter cream filling and whipped cream frosting. I made no mention of decoration but they went ahead and made the cake absolutely beautiful. They made a great memory for our party and we are very grateful for that. It's a bit off the beaten path for ditmars blvd but absolutely worth the detour.

Though the previous iteration of Astoria Bakery had that "old neighborhood" charm (and magical twisty donuts), I've been enjoying the new remodel and the goodies they're serving. Cookies, cupcakes, truffles, and more, all made on site. just polished off a lighter than air blueberry crumb muffin, washed down with the pictured flat white. It's great having this spot just a short stroll down the block to take my mind off the work from home grind (or bring the kids for a decaf-but-adequately-sugared remote learning break). Welcome to the neighborhood!!!

I use to love this bakery until they recently sold it. Aside from the Bread being nowhere in comparison to what ot use to be I had an issue with my cake. The girls assure me the pastry Baker was the same and today I realized that's not true. The custard filling was nowhere near the same as the one in my gender reveal cake I got back in the end of Sept. Also the cake wasnt done that nicely. I gave them a photo, asked for it to he done with buttercream instead of fondant and it didn't taste bad at all, it was fresh but it wasnt what I was expecting. The cake was also all cracked Looking. I just was not 100% happy with it. See pics- cake toppers were provided by me and placed on my me. They're bread is also horrible now. I compare or to a dried sponge. This is terrible to change things like this. I get it, new owners but you dont need to change anything. It was good the way it was. But whatever, I'll find another bakery but your business will decline drastically.

I must say that this bakery is characterized by delicious products and excellent costumer service. Their flavorful frozen lemonade is one of my favorite products and their new line of urban truffles is just amazing. The atmosphere is so warm and the staff is very dedicated and welcoming.Even in these unusual pandemic circumstances the staff seems well prepared in fulfilling all the safety requirements.

As I was walking with my friend around Ditmars we came across this little bakery on 45th street, Astoria Bakery & Cafe. Me and my friend decided to go in and take a look since we haven't been there again. As we walked in one of the girls came right away to help us and asked us politely what would we like to get. My friend got a frozen lemonade and I got a peach iced tea, they were both so delicious and refreshing . We also tried some of their desserts which were absolutely amazing. Their passion fruit brûlée and Ditmars truffles were incredible!!! Great staff full of professionalism(all wearing masks), amazing desserts and drinks. Can't wait to go again and try their coffee while sitting outside on the little patio they have created.

Love this place. The bread tastes so homemade and fresh and the pastries are the best... Sweet but not overly sweet... You can taste the from-scratch ingredients. My favorites are the sprinkled donuts, cin sugar donuts and cheese danish. The only downside is they only take cash and there's no tables or area to enjoy the goodies in-house. But, not a big deal just would be nice if you want to enjoy a bite with a friend! Haven't tried the cakes but hmmm... Maybe I need to get on that!! :-) Ok , so was able to order a cake for an event I had and had a really great experience with Sal and staff. They were so helpful with ideas and then also looking at a picture of a cake I liked. Also, the day I picked the cake up, Sal helped get it situated in the car so it wasn't slanted! And the cake itself although a little different then I'm used to,was really nice... Very light sponge cake and light icing. The cake looked spot on with the picture and lived it. a decent bakery to grab some sweets, coffee . fresh bread. cakes.pies ,etc. its only grab and go unless you want to sit outside while strangers on ditmar blvd stare at you while you sip a cup of coffee and munch on a bluberry muffin. good variety of the sweet stuff and prices are fair . Place is small inside but has a euro hip decor that makes it a favorite with the locals and newcomers to the area. i picked up some rainbow cookies and mini biscotti for my peeps which they enjoyed as much as i did. The three times i have visited astoria bakery and cafe i can honestly say that i never have been let down with the quality of sweets, prices and the kindness of the gals who work behind the counter.

I searched high and low for an affordable, quality bakery for my wedding cake this past October. Let me tell you something: ASTORIA BAKERY is UNREAL. They made a gorgeous red-velvet cake (I posted pics) and UNBELIEVABLE cream cheese frosting. I brought in a picture of a cake design I liked and they replicated it to a tee. As if this wasn't enough, they charged HUNDREDS of dollars less than any Manhattan bakery, delivered the cake on time to my Tribeca reception site. Ask for Jack. He was amazing to work with, and the two times my fiance went in to drop off payment and finalize plans, he sent him home with a complimentary large box of treats for "the bride" (that would be me!!). This is real small-town, old-school Italian treatment and prices. They made us feel like family. And that cake.....WOW. They blow Magnolia and Buttercup Bakeshop's red velvet out of the park. Seriously!

They were able to provide a custom photo birthday cake on short notice. End result was lovely. Customer service was very friendly. I wasn't a huge fan of the sponge cake (either vanilla or chocolate) used in the cake, next time I would choose a non-sponge cake option.

Thank you to one of the patrons reporting about the poor management of this cafe. I just walked in. There was no where to stand. I just stood at the back, as you would in any bakery or store, and one of the people waiting decided to start. One it's too early in the morning. Secondly, if this is the type of patrons they have they can keep it. If management can't keto the place orderly then it's not the place for me. There was another woman in there that he had apparently tried to start with as well. Too bad but there's way too many cafes and bakeries just on ditmars where you don't have a problem. Think about cliental and management when visiting an establishment.

Half the size, double the price... I bought 5 little pastries and paid $33.46!!! My mistake was that I didn't ask the price of each upfront, but.. come on. Are they made of gold? And the triple chocolate wasn't even good. The others were decent. I want to support local businesses during these tough times but the businesses have to understand that the customers are also going through the same though times and meet somewhere in the middle. That was highway robbery.
