The 25 Best Cheap Eats In London - London - The Infatuation
"Something of a Brixton institution, this all-day Caribbean takeaway makes chicken, curry goat, and beef patties daily, and they’re worth going out of your way for, especially at £1.50 each. Each filling is carefully flavoured, but we like the beef best—it’s rich with a scotch bonnet heat that gradually grows into a whack at the back of your throat. The pastry is flaky and crunchy on the crust, and tastes even better warmed up in the oven at home." - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
Atlantic Bakery - Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation
"Atlantic Bakery is something of a Brixton institution. The Caribbean takeaway spot makes its own chicken, curry goat, and beef patties daily, alongside portions of fried chicken, ackee and saltfish, and jerk chicken. We’ve only come by for the generously filled patties, but they’re worth going out of your way for, especially at £2.50 each. Each filling is carefully flavoured: the beef is rich with a scotch bonnet heat that gradually grows into a whack at the back of your throat, and the curry goat mixes an aromatic sauce with tender meat. The pastry itself is flaky and crunchy on the crust, and tastes even better warmed up in the oven at home.
Food Rundown
Curry Goat Patty
There’s plenty of layered flavour that goes into Atlantic’s fillings, and the curry goat is a great example. Warm, even-handed curry powder spicing, with hits of thyme, and rich goat meat.

Beef Patty
The filling on this beef patty is of the drier variety with flakes of beef spread generously inside. We like that. The scotch bonnet in this does not mess about." - Jake Missing
The Best Caribbean Bakeries in London | Eater London
"The iconic red frontage of Atlantic Bakery is hard to miss for anyone who’s spent much time in Brixton. Atlantic serves all of its own-made baked goods but also has started to experiment outside the box with the likes of ackee and saltfish-filled dumplings and jerk chicken bagel burgers." - Riaz Phillips
A few vegan options and the veg patty is really good, nice heat and spice levels, flaky and light pastry, thick filling centre. Good prices.
The callaoo with dumpling was a little bland, would have liked some hot sauce with it, but al good otherwise. Would go back.

I need to give this lovely bakery 10/10
Needing to bring a Jamaican fix back to Amsterdam with me and finding out my usual patty shop had closed down I came across Alantic Bakery. What a great find!! First of all the two ladies taking my order were attentive and friendly, I was able to walk in and take away a big box of 24 patties which they had wrapped securley for my journey. Secondly, when I got home and tasted the patties ....WOW where has this bakery been all my life.
I will for sure revisit them when I am back London and I highly recommend this bakery as THE SPOT for Patties

Always a chore to get through on the phone, and the manager can be quite nonchalont in his manner. Bread is only baked TWICE a week so be sure to ask when it was baked before buying, I love their hardough bread, veg patties are scarce but the patties are baked on the premises, very spicy and the best ever red peas soup suitable for non meat eaters. Only three stars because there is much room for improvement.

Been my go to shop when visiting brixton for many of years. Sad to see it has recently closed down permanently 😞
There is a note from the owners on the outside if the premises explaining there reason for closing up shop.
Hope the staff find alternative employment soon, Best wishes 🙏

the oxtail, curry goat, and fried chicken are top notch. ask for gravy on the rice and you shall receive, unlike some other stingy cookshops. portions could be a bit larger. havent tried any of the other dishes yet

Yelp
I had a tasty Jamaican Pattie from here recently. The man who served me was really friendly and it was a bargain at around 1 pound. They had a whole selection of caribbean snacks and deserts. They also had several sweet and savoury breads. Good for trying something different that you wont find in the supermarket.
