Auguste

"In Gaël Orieux's compact restaurant – seating barely 30 people – the elegant contemporary interior with deceptively sleek lines exudes an unexpected calm. It's a chic and "classy" space where you can enjoy judiciously modern cuisine, for instance saddle of veal with a rainbow of sweet and sour carrots or turbot flavoured with wild herbs and artichokes in a pepper sauce... The appeal of the menu lies in its variety and the quality of its produce. Gaël Orieux sources his ingredients from the market and has chosen to serve only species of fish that are not endangered (black mullet, meagre, pout). The wine selection offers the opportunity to try something new without breaking the bank." - Michelin Inspector

Not great service - waiter knocked our bottle of water off the table, which splashed onto us. No apologies, just a new bottle and it wasn’t taken off the bill. Informed them one of our party had a nut allergy and the dessert served had almonds!?! Had to take medicine for it and the only “apology” was a new dessert without the almond cake… very poor form given the potential danger of cross contamination and anaphylactic shock. Especially as I had double checked with the waiter (who assured me it had no nuts) before taking a bite! The restaurant atmosphere is bizarre - very warm and no music. The ambiance does not deliver especially with the poor service. We ordered the lunch set and the chicken main (sous-vide) was dry - I couldn’t finish it. The artichoke side was very good though, and the starter soup was delicious. Overall, the service and food was not worth the Michelin rating. I would not come again or recommend it.

My wife wanted to go to this place after reading about it and it being a Michelin 1 star. The staff is super friendly and nice. 5 stars for the staff for being so attentive and making you feel comfortable. The atmosphere is great too, what you would expect from a high end restaurant. We ordered the course meal for 98 euro a person, which was recommended by the staff. It came with scallops, quail and dessert. First they brought us some appetizers which were amazingly good, especially the fish one. Then they brought a mushroom with escargot soup. That's probably the best soup I have ever had. At this point I had pretty high expectations for the other courses, but unfortunately it did not meet the expectations. The scallops were good, but nothing out of this world. The same for tht quail. It was very disappointing, especially after that amazing mushroom soup. In my opinion it is not worth the price.

Google
Quiet restaurant. Well cooked food, almost to perfection, but unfortunately the flavour combinations didn't blend at times. We had the Langoustine Ravioles, perfectly cooked, the flavour profile of Parmesan, orange and avocado didn't work for me. The lobster couldn't have been better cokked or served, but the accompanying puree was a bit salty. Worth a visit.

We wanted to visit at least one Michelin restaurant while we were in Paris, and found this restaurant. They offer great lunch courses for fair prices. We had lunch for €45 course (weekday only), but I paid extra for fish. Service was really good, food was amazing, atmosphere was cozy and calm. My husband had red wine that had unique flavor and smell, which he enjoyed with his duck. I highly recommend this restaurant when you visit Paris!

Google
The best Michelin star restaurant I had during my time staying in Paris. All dishes are tasty, creative, and flavors are well balanced. Details are also habdled carefully. The service is also up bar. The price is very reasonable. If you can only have one Michelin star restaurant during your stay in Paris, try this one.

Google
Very affordable lunch menu (45€) at a Michelin starred restaurant (if you don’t order the wines >w< ). Food was fantastic, although I wouldn’t have supplemented for the fish in hindsight - the duck on the menu my partner had was superb. We were rushing for an appointment and asked the waiter to fire our deserts while we were halfway through our mains so we didn’t have to wait for them to prepare it just as we finish our mains in true French style dining. He obliged us and we managed to make our next appointment with time to spare. Overall very happy campers

This restaurant has a clear issue of racial segregation. When seating guests, Asians, Whites, and Blacks are placed separately. Black waiters only serve Asian customers, while White waiters only serve White customers. If you don’t mind this issue, their onion soup tastes decent.

Google
A fine, affordable Michelin one-star restaurant. I made my reservation for the same day; I can't say why it's not packed. I had the prix fixe 5 course menu for 96 euros: frog leg soup (my first time having frog; tastes like chicken!), clam/calamari paella, monkfish, quail, then berry pavlova. The only course that could have been a little better was the monkfish. The fish was a touch overcooked, and the carrot sauces were bland. Otherwise a full-on recommendation

Yelp
Yes. Yes. Yes. I've had the pleasure of dining at Auguste twice now -- and every time I'm in Paris, it's at the top of my must-visit list. This is fine dining done absolutely right. Lunch here is truly one of the best deals (or honestly, a steal) you'll find in the city -- refined, beautifully executed dishes for under 50 euros. It's an experience that far exceeds the price. Dinner, as expected, was incredible -- with an extensive drink list that pairs perfectly with the elegant, balanced courses. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate, and exquisite -- no fuss, just timeless sophistication. The dishware is stunning, and the food presentation and flavors match the elegance of the space. Every bite is thoughtful, tasteful, and harmonious. If you're looking for a spot in Paris where the entire experience -- from the ambiance to the service to the final bite -- feels special, Auguste is it. Can't wait to return on my next trip.

Yelp
One of the best things I did in Paris was eat at Michelin-starred restaurants during lunch when they have severely discounted fixed menus. My meal at Auguste cost €45 and included appetizer, main course, and dessert. They also served me light snacks while I looked at the menu! My favorite part of the meal was the truffle mushroom soup, which was foamed at the top and came in a caved-in glass bowl. The roast duck was tender, and dessert featured bitter coffee ice cream and sweet cream. It's a very cozy, intimate, and modern interior, and the staff is very attentive. The baguette slices they serviced in between courses was one of my favorite parts about the meal, hah.

Yelp
Intimate and lovely. Modern feel but still cozy. Expected to order more than we did because portions were surprisingly large! The escargot starter was wonderful and the pigeon was delicious but very rich. I couldn't even finish it. Tasted both lobster dishes as well and they were the best! Desert was devine service was impeccable!

Yelp
Beautiful interior and beautiful cooking. The food was paced out very well and is a great place to try modern French cuisine. The service was very attentive and worthy of a Michelin star.

Yelp
We had the chef's fixed price menu for dinner and loved it. Portions were reasonably sized. Food tasted super. Good combinations of flavors I would not think to pair together and it all worked really well. Not pretentious at all. Highly recommend it for a tasty, filling splurge. .

Yelp
The ambiance was what is to be expected at a restaurant of this caliber. The service was top notch as all the servers were bilingual and spoke very good English which was helpful. The servers know the menu very well and how to explain each dish. The food was literally the best I have ever had. My fiancé and I both had the Menu Decouverte with 5 courses and it was absolutely phenomenal. Overall the total bill was 212 euros before tip which is in my eyes an amazing value. Now people say a tip is not needed in France but every server we tipped was so appreciative, in my eyes they work hard and I want to show my appreciation.

Yelp
Amazing dishes for such reasonably priced 3 course lunch menu. It was a bit quiet but towards the end of lunch, we were all casually talking and felt more comfortable. Started with 3 amuse bouche then tomato gaspacho with smoked fish, then chicken as main course which was a bit tough. best was the red fruit over raspberry sorbet which was to die for. I'd recommend dressing up just a bit to show some respect for the staff and chef. It is clearly indoor so for people used to eating outdoor, know what you're getting.

Yelp
I can't even start with Auguste. I made a reservation here based on a few tidbits of research, and of course expected a good meal but, had no idea I was in for one of the best meals of my life. Having been to a multitude of Michelins and highly rated or best restaurants in the world, I knew what to expect, but Auguste completely blew me away. Each dish on their discovery menu was carefully crafted, not in silo by itself, but in a progression that made absolute sense when you go from one taste to another. The umami of flavors that progress with the opening of your palate is indescribable. The brilliance of adding acidity with foods you didn't expect is on par with top chef skills I've not come to appreciate until this year. I recommend coming for dinner, it's incredibly affordable by Michelin standards and even any major US city standards. Absolutely worth it!

Yelp
Amazing lunch fixed menu at €39 for a Michelin star restaurant. Great presentation and the portions were good. I want to tell you what I had, but I really don't know how to. All I can say is, there was a wonderful asparagus and mushroom escargot soup, duck breast (husband had perch), and a citrus dessert. There were also a couple of small bites and bread. Overall, I highly recommend.

Yelp
Every single dish was delicious and creative. My favorite was the quail! The staff was very attentive and nice.

Yelp
We loved this restaurant. It is small. The tasting menu is divine and well-priced. The wine pairing is worth it.The service is perhaps the best we experienced in Paris. I would go back again and again if only for those amazing oysters.

Yelp
Came here for the lunch set menu and was very happy with the experience. Based on some of the reviews, I was having second thoughts about the reservation. In the end my friends and I really glad we stop in and it was one of our favorite meals while visiting Paris. The restaurant is small so if you come early, there really isn't much space to wait. But there is a very yummy bakery close by that we were able to share a croissant while exploring the near by shops. The service was efficient and the staff polite. Since they did not have an English menu, our server did a good job explaining each course and options. The scallop soup was delicate and flavorful. Both the scallop and the duck I ordered was perfectly cooked. The others in my party all ordered the fish and were very happy with their selections. They commented that it was fresh and light. One in the party did say he could do without the foam on both the dishes he ordered. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a reasonable price set meal that give you more then you pay for. I would like to go back next time I visit Paris and try their dinner menu.

Yelp
The appetizers were delicious. My favorite was the escargot! They make tasty Mocktails, unfortunately I forgot the name of the one I ordered. The inside is decorated with pretty autumn colored leaves along the ceiling. Really nice ambiance. Our server was nice and attentive.

Yelp
Very affordable lunch prix fixe for a Michelin starred restaurant. I came in with high expectations from my previous Michelin experiences in New York, and to be honest, Auguste single-handedly made me disillusioned in the standards of Paris Michelin inspectors. We went with the €39/pp lunch. For starters, I got salmon sashimi and an asparagus cappuccino with a bit of caviar on the top. Salmon sashimi was ordinary and not superbly fresh or chosen well. The cappuccino was intriguing, especially because of its interesting plating, but the soup was creamy and heavy, and the caviar did little to nothing to offset that. I didn't bother finishing it. The quail with cauliflower puree was amazing. It adds an extra star just for how well it was cooked. Perfectly moist flesh and a really delicate flavour that wasn't upset by the puree. I was hesitant to eat the puree after the cappuccino took its toll, but it was not heavy at all and added depth to the slight sweetness of the quail meat. For dessert, Soufflé Grand Marnier with a moderately sour white cheese yoghurt. The soufflé rose a bit unevenly, but it kept its height and had an amazing texture. It was just to my dismay that the Grand Marnier was so intense that it was like eating a shot with every bite. Just really unfortunate. The yoghurt was akin to Greek yogurt with a much smoother and less curdy texture. It didn't pair well with the soufflé. The amuse bouche was just okay.

Yelp
Best value Michelin, maybe ever. I was here the same week Notre Dame burned down, so this is a very late review. But I felt I had to post this for the benefit of others looking for a solid restaurant choice that won't break the bank. I went there for lunch and it was a set menu. For the set menu, I believe it was €40 and another €10 if you wanted to add the wine pairing. Incredibly, I have actually had less expensive Michelin Star meals, so of course you can find cheaper, but not for what you get and this one punched well above its weight. They could have charged double and I would have still been happy. Every item was delicious, I recall a mushroom soup that was outstanding but the menu changes based on what's in season. I liked the food here better than some 3 Michelin Star restaurants I've had (Benu in SF and Michael Mina LV come to mind). If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Fancy but casual. Really great bargain for a tasting menu with wine pairing for about €150. No suit? Not to worry, khaki and collared shirt here. Good for nice date or an anniversary dinner, or just eating by your self. Not good for big groups, loud groups or bringing the kiddos. It would just totally kill the ambiance. French or English...they're pretty proficient on either language and everything seemed to be on queue with their delivery. Seems like they have everything synchronized. My favorite was the dessert. It will probably be different for you on your visit, but my ice cream with pineapple will leave a lasting impression here at Auguste.

Yelp
We got the menu découverte, which is the 6-plate tasting menu. Here are my thoughts plate-by-plate. Pardon me as I can't give a full description of the dish name, but please refer to the photos. Oysters. An extremely clever way of making oysters. The oyster shell is filled with jelly, and the jelly essentially extends the juiciness and slipperiness of the oyster flesh. It's pre-salted and topped with citron. The sour and salt works very well. Avocado dumpling. The dough shell is salty and conceals shrimp and an avocado paste. The paste tastes minty. The shrimp is delicious. The dumpling shell itself also had a tinge of citrus. Interesting and delicious dish. Fish. An orange-colored sauce that is slightly fruity and tart but also creamy. I've actually never really enjoyed creamy sauces and fish together. Here, too, I must say that I liked the fish and the sauce individually, but didn't like them together. However, I did like the green onion topping the fish. Quail. The thigh (or wing, it's too small to tell) was good but the breast was dry, in the way that breast usually is. I expected more in that respect. Cheeses. Blue cheese is still a little too strong for me, but eating both cheeses and the jam in combination yielded a funky sweet and pungent aroma that was nice. Ice cream. The sorbet component of this was kind of normal - I feel like I've had something extremely similar before. It is good and delightfully tart, but it is "typical". The dill sorbet, on the other hand, was very interesting. It makes me feel like lightly-sweet vegetable sorbets should be more of a thing. The service was attentive. The baguette slices and butter were yummy. And the interior deco was extremely cozy. In general, I thought that the food was clever and attentive and had wonderful surprises. It was also affordable for a restaurant like this. However, components like the drier quail breast, the not-so-creative pairing of cream and fish, and my own lack of appreciation for extremely strong cheeses made this meal not quite reach the high expectations I had.

Yelp
It seems like one of the most important experiences to have in France is the incredible dining experiences. We haven't had many michelin star level restaurants, and this was definitely an impressive meal. We went for the lunch special of 37 euros for a 3 course meal (+ amuse bouche). Our appetizer options were a white asparagus salad and yellow carrot soup. The flavors were solid, but I was extremely impressed by the yellow carrot soup complemented with a poached egg. I never expected to enjoy a carrot soup this much! For our entrees, we picked between a sea bream and duck. The duck was done very well - my friends described it as eating "filet mignon as duck". The fish dish was solid, and once again impressive flavors that blew me away. We concluded our meals with the souffle with a side of vanilla ice cream. The souffle was extremely well done, perfect consistency and an amazing egg white flavor. Overall, this was an amazing lunch that all of us were extremely pleased with. The portions were large enough to fill us up and the service was amazing. The staff spoke decent English - enough to describe the menu and dishes to us. I would definitely come back here again when I find myself in Paris next.

Yelp
To get by in the world of Michelin rated restaurants in Paris, you truly have to be top tier. The Parisians invented the modern restaurant, so they've been at it a while. Not only that, but to train for the culinary world in this city is coveted by up-and-coming chefs many of whom would probably love to open up shop here and start the restaurant of their dream. The competition is cutthroat. To even be on the radar of Michelin here is an honor. And Auguste is definitely on the radar. But enough of that Michelin business, I'm not writing this review to talk tires. It's somewhat overwhelming to pick a restaurant in Paris (#firstworldproblems), so we relied on our friend who had been to culinary school and is one of the aspiring foodie people of which I spoke; she worked here and obviously recommended it. You walk in to Auguste and I have to say, it's not all that impressive from a visual standpoint. Not minimalist. Just simple, straightforward, unassuming, but elegant - which as it turns out, was not entirely unlike their food. As normally splurges like these go, we opted to order from the chef's tasting menu (with a wine paring). I could tell you all the details of what it was, but that wouldn't be all that interesting - plus it's constantly changing so you likely would not have anything like what I got. A few of the dishes were seafood (scallops, fried langoustines, caviar) - and the main event was pigeon. With each dish you got a perfectly prepared protein (which... you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber... and also, triple 'P' score in Scategories!), but then also small accompaniments and sauces which added bursts of flavor that gave a freshness that can sometimes be lost in heavy/saucy French cooking. Berries, mangos, carrots, chocolate sauces, apple mousses. These all played a part which admittedly on their own have not much appeal to me, but as part of the whole were fantastic. The meal was ended with a soufflé (because... France) and some very nice ice cream which I cannot remember much more about - that's the wife's forte and she very much enjoyed it. The wines served alongside, which I wish I remembered more about or noted, were all paired well and very tasty. Starting I believe with some bubbles, getting heavier into the Bordeaux, and ending with something crisp that went well with the ice cream. It was all much better than the $5 bottle I had bought from a street vendor by the Eiffel Tower the night before. I would recommend Auguste as a good value find if you are looking for a Michelin restaurant in Paris (and by value I just mean you're not going to have to take out a second mortgage.... but it's still expensive). Go a little later if you want to be there when it's full. We went at 7 and I believe were the first reservations on the books. And since I have to be that cheesy person to end their review of a French restaurant this way: Bon Apetit!

Yelp
3 stars - $100 USD per person for a pretty filling me. Everything was great, but not sure what was sooo impressive. I wasn't blown away as I thought I should be. Dessert was a flop. It was like the meal needed an ending and they settled with this apple crumb thing that was just too sour to be considered dessert. BEST thing was the pigeon. Hands down best part of the meal. The scallop/crab dish was strange, could've done without the foam. Shrimp tempura..? Really? Come on. I want a real fresh shrimp. Overall, you can taste the quality here, but if you're looking for an amazing experience with food, I'd try another place. It was great, just didn't blow me out of the water.

Yelp
Fulfill your fantasies of French fine dining without breaking the bank at this affordable one Michelin star restaurant! Food/Drink: we got their prie fix menu for two and it was worth every penny. In total we had 3 tasters, an appetizer, an entree, a dessert, and post meal sweets! We also ordered the house red wine along with the prie fix which was delicious. If it's still a available, I highly recommend the duck for the main dish! It was juicy and tender, by far the best duck I've had. Their plating is also so beautiful and fulfills every fantasy you have of French fine dining! Price: at €39 per person this is rated one of the most affordable Michelin star restaurants in all of Paris. The presentation and quality of food is definitely worth what you're paying for! The wine is a little expensive at €11 for barely half a glass but you can't eat a nice meal in Paris without wine. Atmosphere: we went on a Thursday for lunch and not all the tables were filled. I enjoyed how unlike some fancier restaurants it wasn't completely silent, people were conversing and laughing. The waiters were excellent in terms of attending to your needs and refilling your bread without even asking. They also spoke English very well and were not condescending towards American tourists.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this restaurant because my husband and I were planning our honeymoon trip around Europe. We are quite the foodie, and so I wanted to check out a one star Michelin restaurant in France! There were so many, so it was difficult to choose. I googled "best one star Michelin restaurant Paris" and one of the articles that popped up was actually for the 8 best value Michelin restaurants, so I checked it out. Auguste was one of them, and I liked the decor and the reviews were great. I checked out their website and saw that you can make reservations on line! They sent me a confirmation email, and we were off! We showed up late on a rainy and trafficky Wednesday night at 815PM for an 8PM reservation. They greeted and seated us. Such a cute little restaurant, nothing pretentious, and the restaurant was a bit empty at the time. We decided to go the tasting menu with wine pairing. It was €145 per person, and everyone at your table has to do to the tasting menu with wine pairing if that's what you plan on doing. The courses looked amazing and we were so excited! The waitress Carmen was so sweet and so great at her job! Mattias (or Matisse), the sommelier was also a delight! So personable and make the night very easy going and always had very great pairings. They both spoke English so perfectly, I felt like I was so comfortable eating in a French restaurant, in France! The food and the wine always tasted better together than alone. I remember trying the wine, and not really liking it or thinking it was too dry, but once you had it with the food, I totally understood why the wine was paired with the food and the wine. A dry wine would not be dry after trying it with the food. Or a wine that was more bitter would be a lot smoother with the food. Amazing pairings for sure. It's a do the pre-fix menu with the wine tasting! 4-course pairing, and we strongly suggest it! You would not be disappointed! We were more than full, and the service was excellent! I won't go too deep into each dish, as I'm sure their tasting menu changes, but these were the delicious dishes we had -- 1st course - rosé with oysters! fresh oysters with sea water gel. It was a good way to make the oysters with the ocean saltiness. Big oysters too! Wouldn't normally pair oysters with rosé, but it was delicious! 2nd course - langoustine with butternut and kumquat reduction. It was fried langoustine too. This was my husband's favorite! It's hard to describe, but I have photos. 3rd course - turbot fish in a coconut milk. This was MY favorite!! If I can have someone make this for me on a weekly basis, I would look forward to it every week!!! The fish is perfectly cooked, and the coconut milk becomes a soup. DELICIOUS NOW I WANT TO EAT IT!!! 4th course - quail with raspberry sauce. This was a bit heavy for me, but I remember it being very delicious. The quail was not gamey, and the wine pairing was perfect. Cheese course -- this was a surprise! Coming from the US, our tasting courses usually don't have a cheese selection. It came with a couple different chesses, 2 types of jam, some hazelnuts, and some bread. I was already pretty full, but all of our combinations we tried with the jams, cheeses, or nuts were all so good! We ended up eating everything. Dessert - I will say, I don't really like strawberries/fruits as dessert. I like my desserts sweet, and most of the time, fruits don't really cut it for me. This turned out to be the most delicious dessert I've had! I think it was so well crafted, so delicious, and so well plated. I couldn't get enough. And the other funny thing was, my husband doesn't really like sweets (prefers tart), so he likes strawberries, so we both LOVED THIS DESSERT!!! It's hard for us to find a dessert we both love!! The dessert wine was DELICIOUS I was about to ask Mattias what the wine was again so I can look for it in stores!! If the food doesn't convince you, then the service really made us feel great -- we left so happy and in such a good mood, that we just walked back home in the rain! It was like a 40 minute walk, in the rain, but we did it anyway! We got there kind of grumpy (running late and in the rain), but we left feeling amazing!! Thank you, Auguste for a wonderful dinner for our honeymoon!

Yelp
I am a big time foodie that loves to research restaurants and find the best of the best in each city I frequent.. In this case, I did plenty of research to find a spectacular dining experience for my brother, and now sister, for their wedding/honeymoon gift. I wanted this to be the sort of dinner that would knock their socks off, so I used the Michelin star website, yelp, tripadvisor and local blogs to find this stellar establishment. I really wanted their experience to be perfect yet delicious, and so I was lucky when Auguste had Friday night reservations three weeks in advance, and even luckier to be able to make them online since I cannot speak French by any means. From the start of the meal, my brother began texting me about the exceptional service and the delicious champagne that they had been served. Apparently, the wines are really great here and they both loved the red wine they had as well. They opted out of the tasting menu but still tasted a plethora of items, all of their favorites on the menu- there were quite a few favorites, as you will see pictured below. Auguste prepares the kind of cooking we love- simple items prepared in the best ways possible, and to exceed the expectation every time. The last time we were in Paris was about a year and a half ago. We dined at Michelin star restaurants and raved about le comptoir, but this time I wanted to really knock their socks off in a "you just got married" sort of way. It paid off. My brother and new sister raved about this dining experience stating it was the best so far. They loved asparagus soup and said that it was like a firework of flavors exploding in your mouth. Just to give you an idea, neither of them particularly care for asparagus, so I was surprised to hear they had even ordered it. The burrata with egg was incredible. The fish with ravioli melted in their mouthes. The chef is also a slow food fish chef, which only made me fall more in love. They had veal with apple sauce. One dish was as good as the next. They finished with a chocolate soufflé with honey almond ice cream and then they finished off with homemade macaroons and candies. How jealous am I? Yes, the meal was expensive but well worth it. I would pay it again and again and again. My brother and new sister are still in awe at this delicious restaurant with perfect service. Thank you so much, Gael, for exceeding very high expectations and taking care of my family :)

Yelp
We came for the €37 prix fixe lunch and was not disappointed by food and service. 3-courses and a few extras left us very full. Inside is too quiet and can easily hear the tables next to you. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
Excellent value for the prix fixe menu, especially considering this is a Michelin star restaurant. Service is good, and food is solid, but very safe in its flavor profiles and execution. Don't expect to be floored, this is more of an every day gourmet experience.

Yelp
The fact that Auguste has a Michelin star AND an affordable pre-fixe lunch? I knew we had to come here during our Paris trip! Reservations were easy to make. We came in and were quickly seated at our table. We started off with 2 glasses of their white wine to start. Since there are 2 options for each course, we decided to get one of each so we could try the whole menu. After we ordered, we were given an amuse bouche on a spoon with a cream and caviar. Delish! The first course that came out were the soups. BF had a soup consisting of carrots and eggs, which was both rich and creamy. We loved it! I had a mushroom soup with chestnuts which I absolutely loved. For the main course, I had the chicken and he had fish. I'm usually meh about chicken in restaurants because it can be so boring, but the chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. I did prefer the fish though, just because of the stronger flavors. For dessert I had peaches and cream, which was nice and refreshing. BF had the grand marnier souffle with a side of sorbet. The souffle itself was fine (tasted very light), but I loved the sorbet on the side! Service was top notch! If you're in Paris, I would definitely recommend dining here for lunch!

Yelp
Had the lunch prefixes at this place for $39 euro a person and it was amazing! The chicken was like the best chicken I've ever had and the vegetable nutmeg soup was foamy and amazing! Top it off my desserts were so delicious. Could taste the oranges in the chocolate mouse.

Yelp
You can't go to Paris and not engage in some haute cuisine! Since we were visiting Paris in August, a holiday month for many Parisians, there weren't too many restaurants open during that time. Luckily, Auguste was open, so I made reservations for dinner here for our group of 6. It was quiet when we arrived and the restaurant never really got too crowded, which was nice. We were greeted by the host and entered the simple yet elegant dimly lit restaurant and were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal. We did the Chef's tasting dinner menu, which seemed to be reasonably priced for a Michelin star restaurant (~$100/person for 6 courses with multiple amuse bouches). When each little dish came out, we were awed by their delicateness and really enjoyed the presentation of each course. There was a bread dish, a cheese dish, an oyster dish, a fish dish, a beef dish, two desserts, and homemade caramels. I remember the portions being larger than expected and by the end of the 2 hour meal, I was stuffed. Every dish tasted very intentional with a perfect harmony of texture and sauces. The French really do their sauces well! One of my favorite things was the oysters with sea water jelly. Sounds slimy and salty, I know, but it was actually quite delicious! The only hiccup was that their credit card machine did not work that night, and we had been planning to charge the meal to our card (gotta get those reward points!). Our group did not have enough cash on us to pay the bill, so we had to walk to the ATM to withdraw a bunch of euros. It was a little inconvenient, but in the end it was easy enough. Overall, I had a wonderful experience dining here. The service was friendly and not in your face. I thought the pace of the meal was perfect, nothing came out too slowly or was cleared away too quickly. The dishes complimented each other well, and most importantly, they each tasted divine!

Yelp
Extremely disappointing. This restaurant came recommended by a friend, which was upsetting. My fiance and I had the chef's tasting menu which consists of 6 courses (2 starters, 2 main, and 2 dessert). First of all, the pace of the meal was terribly slow. The whole meal lasted 2.5 hours. Furthermore the plates were small, so the downtime between each plate was very long. As far as the taste, I've had better food at other restaurants in Paris. Paris is a city of food and this place just can't compete with others in my mind.

Yelp
My first Michelin star restaurant and I chose this place because it was in a part of the city I'd not been and the menu seemed reasonably priced. I went here for a solo lunch for my birthday and I was treated very well. Most of my time here was waiting to see how long it was going to take reservations to show up.at they're appointed time. My reservation was at 11, and so was the table next to me, but they did not all arrive until 12:30. I was quite appalled. But this review isn't about them. It's about me and my birthday experience. I ordered the prix fixe lunch menu: 3 courses for ~ €50 and 2 glasses of white wine which weren't very remarkable. But it was something to wash everything down. The amuse was tiny profiteroles. A crusty end of a baguette was also presented to me with a small crock of butter and a ramekin of fleur de sel. That may have been the highlight of the meal. The asparagus soup was my favorite course. Creamy, light and foamy, it was fun to eat out of the whimsical bowl it was presented in. It was like eating out of a Christmas ornament, to be honest. The entree came with a dusting of surprise walnuts (to which I am allergic) and after sending it back and it coming back because again because the chef said "these are walnuts, not ground nuts" I nervously waited for another 15 minutes and sipped on mediocre wine while I watched others come in and fill their reservations, it finally came back, sans nuts. A seared chicken breast with carefully placed leaves of herbs and a light foam which was the essence of something...i don't remember. The dessert was essentially a chocolate mousse cake which was a nice end to an okay meal. The ambience is modern and a little boring, to be honest. The space small but spacious enough to seem roomy. While I had an okay experience, the place seemed a little dusty and in need of a good wet rag to clean all of the surfaces. Would I come here again? Probably not. But I'm glad I got to experience that asparagus soup. That was a winner.

Yelp
This is what I would like to call an "ambassador trap." It is very close to National Assembly and the like and somehow has a Michelin star. That being said we had: Oysters - overly ocean tasting. Didn't taste as fresh as other places but this was disguised by the sauce and fruit on top of it. We couldn't believe that for this we paid 35E when most other places charge much less for better. Langoustines app - I'm not sure why this was fried and over salted. It made us feel like a mediocre Chinese meal. It even came with sweet and sour type sauce and some odd butter scoop. Filet - this was cooked well but once again over seasoned and wayyy over salted. We had higher expectations. The wine was nice, but hey - it is Paris!! Don't go here if you want the quality to match the price.

Yelp
C'est Bon! Unfortunately, that's about as good as my French gets, but I just don't have the (French) words to describe the dishes. Delicately presented and thoughtfully combined, the meal made magical music in my mouth. Why no 5 stars? Pricing. While the lunch menu offered a fixed price 3 course menu at 37 euro per person, I've had comparable meals for 40 Canadian dollars per person (1 euro = ~1.5 Canadian right now!) for dinner. Service was attentive, although surprisingly our servers seemed to have a below basic grasp of English. Luckily, chef Gaël Orieux seems quite fluent in the language of deliciousness, and that was what mattered more to us!

Yelp
Intimate atmosphere, mirrors, white walls and pretty armchairs... Auguste is perfectly tailored to the cuisine of Gaël Orieux, a chef who is passionate about food and ingredients. His dishes? A quest for harmony and inventiveness, finely weaving together ingredients from land and sea. Affordable prices at lunch; all the stops are pulled out at dinner.

Yelp
Impeccable in every way. The Discovery Menu is a steal! Every dish was fantastically prepared and artfully presented, the service was the most professional and warm we've received in Paris, and the entire experience was just magical. Most memorable item - dill sorbet! Somehow the chef managed to create a flavor so refreshingly scrumptious from an ingredient I normally dislike. I also loved the potato cream soup, a dish so unassuming and humble turned by the chef's ingenuity into one with complex, layered flavours, fantastic! I spooned up every last drop. The best was the scallops though - an easy dish to be sure, but still outstanding in this case in its simple perfection in both texture and sauce. I cannot recommend this gem enough.

Yelp
This place is perfect for those looking to have a delicious meal at a Michelin starred restaurant without breaking the bank. Their pre-fixed lunch menu is an affordable €36 for a fantastically unique three course meal. Not only was the meal delicious, but the service is unmatched.

Yelp
It' a nice restaurant. I feel relax and warm there. The food is good but dessert is not delicious. We choose 88 menu and order a bottle of wine. The average amount per person is about 120€

Yelp
First experience at a Michelin star restaurant. Service was great and didn't have to break the bank. My bf and I went in for lunch. Since there were two options per meal, we were able to try them all. Though everything tasted good, nothing really "wowed" me, but overall a great experience. The desserts were my favorite

Yelp
I went to another Michelin star restaurant last week Yam tcha. It was out of this world . My lunch at Augusts today was ok, especially for the price, but not the Michelin star quality, I expected. Because of the price it was full of young people and they were loud and that really took away from the atmosphere. The asparagus soup was asparagus soup. The chicken was over cooked but the fish was lovely. The desserts were fine but nothing special. It's nice to say you went to a Michelin star restaurant but the €37 lunch menu was not a good reflection

Yelp
This was my first Michelin experience, and what place to do it other than in Paris? We got their 3 course lunch menu for 36 euros, which was such a steal! The overall experience was divine and the service was wonderful. The food was good but not amazing. But hey, for the price I'm paying, I'm definitely not complaining.

Yelp
Wanted to have a nice meal while vacationing in Paris. Did some research and found Auguste - 1 star Michelin.Very wallet friendly lunch menu at 3 courses for €36. All 3 courses were full of flavor and I loved it. Being 5 months pregnant, I have been wanting bland food, so I was a bit hesitant to dive into fine dining. Before pregnancy, we would go do tasting menus all the time. But since being pregnant, with the listeria restrictions and weird appetite, I didn't know how I would handle the menu. Luckily I could eat all the items on the menu and it made for a very enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Michelin restaurant with a very good lunch menu. Service was excellent and the desert was delicious. The soup was also creative and delicious.

Yelp
A friend and I stopped by as our first lunch in Paris since we wanted to take advantage of the economical 3 course lunch. We ordered 1 of each. Everything was very foamy did not settle very well on my stomach. Could not finish the soups. The duck was ok - chewy and the skin not so crispy. Could not finish the desserts. If you're expecting a great place just because they have a Michelin star, I would say pass. There are much better places in Paris!

Yelp
I don't often splurge on highly rated restaurants. But because I have heard such great things about Auguste, I simply couldn't turn down the opportunity. The restaurant vibe was elegant and modern. I ordered from a price fix lunch menu which had two soup options for the first course, a chicken dish and fish dish for the main, and either a soufflé or array of sorbets for dessert. These descriptions don't do the food justice. They were beautifully prepared and presented. In addition, the staff was helpful in translating the menu to English so as to assure I wasn't ordering anything I'm allergic to. Overall, a two-thumbs-up experience.

Yelp
This is one of those places that you will tell everyone you know about. And then no one will be able to go. The food is really special, the presentation is amazing, it's quiet, it's gorgeous, it's so wonderfully French.

Yelp
It's near the national assembly. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere and modern french cuisine. The menu is seasonal, so go in for your surprise.
