The 10 Best Restaurants In Larchmont

"The phrase “artsy ice cream cave” wasn’t on our bingo card, but that’s exactly how we’d describe Awan’s second location in Larchmont. This Indonesian-inspired ice cream shop looks like a light-and-sound installation you’d find at The Broad, with moodily lit clay-toned walls and menus that hover in dramatic built-ins like they’re the Dead Sea Scrolls. It’s a lot, but if you were going to build a museum exhibit around any ice cream in LA, it would be these creamy, plant-based scoops. Flavors are in constant rotation, but you can usually expect fresh and tropical options like blood orange, palm sugar, and vanilla made with Bali-important beans." - brant cox, sylvio martins

My first reaction with thoughts was - its a basic Ice-cream but after testing i realized its much better testing than Ice-cream. Tried different kind pury much all of them, sounds they're very delicious testing as natural fruit each kind. Company produces delicate products without any kind of milk , strictly on the back end mandatory contains coconut milk and mixture of different kind of fruits or flowers . Top on the quality and how its testing. Was impressed how its testing, highly recommend .

Google
Very good authentic and organic ice cream completely non-dairy. I would say by far the best base vanilla ice cream that is non-dairy out there. Def try it out - as it’s hard to make non dairy ice cream that is good. Also I like the interior.

Google
This ice cream spot was pretty good. It's coconut milk based for those who are lactose intolerant. Had the sesame and vanilla bean. The sesame was good but would've tasted better with milk based ice cream. The vanilla bean was really good too and was a better match with the coconut milk and palm sugar combo. It's a small whole in the wall with a few seats/bench area. You can taste the flavors like other ice cream spots to see which one you like.

Google
We stumbled upon this hidden gem in Ktown, and it was literally love at first sight! The spot has a unique, cave-like ambiance that's definitely Instagram-worthy. While we thought it was just a visually appealing place at first, the ice cream was actually really good. We opted for the pink grava matcha and their signature Balinese vanilla bean, and we loved both flavors. I would definitely recommend trying their signature vanilla, it had a creamy flavor and was unlike anything else. The flavor reminded me of some of the desserts I had while traveling in Southeast Asia. Worth trying!

Hot sunny Saturday, feels like a good time. Tried an ice cream. Good location busy place but quick service. Ice cream was really good non dairy and you gotta try it 👍🏻 I’m satisfied

Google
Never mind this is vegan. This ice cream is for everyone. The flavors are inventive and we had a hard time choosing. I think the best flavors are the fruit based ones, the blood orange was voted best by all four of us. The shaved sugar on top is crunchy and interesting. I had vanilla and chocolate Oreo which was creamy and good but not as good as the fruit ones. It’s pricey but a good once in a while treat. Also PLEASE limit the amount you ask to try flavors. The line is long, one person does all the scooping, and it’s lame to do. We had a family of five take a full 15 minutes at the window and the person who worked there was so so patient and lovely the whole time. We in line were a little less happy with them. But just be considerate please, everything there is good! Update: got a bunch of pints and it’s all yummy!! Esp the fruit ones, creamy and you’d never guess it’s vegan. Best are guava matcha and still the blood orange.

Google
Delicious and vibey! Loved the banana lemon curd this time around. I love the quality of the food and the experience here! They also let you taste flavors and the staff is so kind.

Google
This is definitely the best spot to get vegan ice cream in LA. The offerings are incredibly rich and creamy since they use coconut cream as their base. The coconut cream also adds a lovely taste to their flavors. Speaking of flavors, they have a lot of interesting ones among classics. We got the birthday cake (classic-ish) and the saffron pistachio date rose water (unique!).

Yelp
This is such a cute spot! Service was good too, staff were nice and friendly. You can try flavors as many as you'd like before purchasing. The interior reminds me of a stone age type of house, like the Flinstones but aesthetic :) Great ice cream selections and reasonable price. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday night and it was relatively busy! They only have one worker scooping ice cream and taking orders; so please be patient with them! They have very unique and Indonesian inspired flavors! I had the kids scoop Chocolate Oreo and my friend had the Blueberry Lavender. The worker was very kind and scooped a bigger scoop for us since we were waiting in line for more than 10 minutes. It is on the pricier side ($8 for a single scoop), but honestly, in this economy, it's not that bad. Seating is limited and outdoors (it's basically just a small area enclosed with 3 walls). There are no restrooms, but the design and architecture of the place was very aesthetic! I gave this place 4 stars because the ice cream just didn't stand out to me. It was very ordinary, and I'm not sure if I would wait in line again to order it again. I will say that I do appreciate that the ice cream isn't overly sweet!

Yelp
My friend who is very about health and used to be a vegan introduced me to this place after dinner on a Friday night. About 30 minutes before closing, it was pretty busy with a line going to the street. The set up of this place is very interesting.. kind of odd if you ask me. Very LA in that respect. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the front to try different flavors and order. The guy who was handling the register and samples wasn't friendly at all. Had a very serious face and looked like he hated being there. He did allow us to keep asking for samples which was nice. I opted for whichever one had Carmel, but the guy messed up and gave me something else which I didn't realize until later. The ice cream was good and it's dairy-free which it's important for me and my stomach, but my experience here was meh.

Yelp
This dessert place has unique flavors. I shared the Balinese Vanilla Bean ice cream which was refreshing. It had shavings of sugar cane to add a hint of extra sweetness. The place is very aesthetically pleasing with it's modern arches and modular seating.

Yelp
This ice cream spot is dope. The design is insane--it feels like you're walking into a red mud cave, super simple but crazy photogenic. Definitely one of the most unique ice cream spots I've been to. Everything here is vegan and coconut-based, and the flavors are different but in the best way. Unique combos that actually work, and the texture is so smooth and creamy, you wouldn't even miss dairy. Highly recommend the Vanilla Bean and Blueberry Lavender together--they paired perfectly! Big shoutout to Mo--dude was awesome. He let us sample a bunch of flavors, gave solid recommendations, and was just cool to chat with. All in all, this spot is a must-visit. Great ice cream, dope aesthetic, and chill service. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
First time here and I was disappointed. On the side note the interior is one of the coolest vibes when it comes to an ice cream shop. I was disappointed not because the ice cream was bad, it wad good but overpriced and extremely over hyped. I came around 3pm and there wasn't much of a wait, but I definitely would not wait an hour for this like many others did. I tried the gaviota strawberry, blueberry lavender, saffron pistachio, and greenglow matcha. Their split scoop option is $10, so pretty much $5 per scoop. They were all decent, had a different texture since its Indonesian ice cream. But nothing stood out to me, so not worth the price tag Probably wouldn't come back, but it doesn't hurt to try it one time. There's parking around the residential neighborhoods.

Yelp
I am still in awe that we walk right into a cave when we enter this space, almost as if I have to realize why I am here. The soft background music definitely adds to that same ambiance. There is a feeling that we just traveled somewhere far away, and all we need to do is just go with it. Snapping out of my trance, I need to remember that I'm writing a review about a place that has very good ice cream, even though they claim it isn't (according to their sign by the sidewalk). They have very unique/ambitious/adventurous flavors. Quite possibly the best I've ever tasted. This place also happens to be vegan-friendly. They add a little bit of flare to your order. You don't just get a scoop. They prepare extra ingredients to compliment the taste and presentation. Parking: definitely street, and there isn't much at the front. FYI: - Seating is available either in front outside or next door @dayglow.

Yelp
Blue yuzu and the mango flavor in a split scoop. We came because we were in the coffee shop right next to it and thought the decor was very beautiful. The ice cream is non-dairy, which is great, and we couldn't really tell it was. Flavors are interesting and really make you wonder. We were extremely full from lunch and yet we were able to appreciate the delicate mixture of flavors and quality of ingredients. They were not sweet at all and you don't feel the heaviness or sugar rush of a typical post visit to Baskin Robbins. $10 for a split scoop. It's definitely not cheap, but the portion was good for two people.
google avatar

Arthur C.

Yelp
Legitimately one of the best ice cream places I've been to in Los Angeles. The ice cream on the right is a scoop of the blue yuzu lemonade on top of a scoop of the saffron pistachio date rose water. The menu features a wide range of unique flavors that you probably won't find anywhere else. Super tasty and the flavors complement each other. The service was also great and the setting has a cool orange cave feel, a great place for instagram-able photos.

Yelp
Awan is a great spot for those who are looking for non-dairy-based ice cream. There are many unique flavors including South East Asian-inspired ones and seasonal options. The new Larchmont location is great for photos and an after-dinner snack. The employees are also very friendly and helpful and are always willing to have you sample flavors. Ask about their off-menu flavors as well! I do find most of the flavors to have hints of coconut, so keep that in mind.
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
One of my new favorite ice cream shops! I gave it an extra star for definitely being the best non-dairy option in town. I wish there were a little more variety in the flavors (but there were 15) -- a lot of citrusy fruity ones and a decent number that were like single ingredient. I got a split scoop for $10 with pumpkin + pink guava and kluwek chocolate chip.
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Tried Indonesian ice cream for the first time, and was flabbergasted with how tasty it is. No dairy? Made with a coconut milk base and made in small portions to ensure quality? For someone who's lactose intolerant, this was great news to me! I ordered a split scoop ($10) to try two flavors. It's a steep price, but it was worth it. If you can't decide on a flavor, I highly recommend the gaviota strawberry flavor!
google avatar

Peggy S.

Yelp
A new favorite ice cream shop! Came here on a Friday night and there was already a long line since only one person manages the shop. We waited about 30 minutes but it was worth it. My bf and I opted for Yuzu Lemonade and Valencia Orange to share since we craving something citrus-y. Yuzu is tangy and a bit sweet; while the orange tasted mostly sweet. We tried other flavors too and honestly all of them are good. Will definitely stop by again!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream. The store itself so cool. Lots of interesting flavors to choose. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Came here around 8:30 on a Saturday night and the line was pretty long and moved slowly. It took about 30 minutes to get to the register. The ice cream though was delicious. The crew member at the register seemed to be working alone, but was super friendly and patient while giving us samples of the flavors. For plant based ice cream, these flavors are impressive. They're creamy & decadent - it'd be hard to tell that they're dairy-free. I opted for a single scoop of the blue yuzu lemonade - DELICIOUS! Street parking may be tough in the daytime, but we parked in the residential at night.

Yelp
Each scoop of ice cream is crafted with care and precision, which might explain why the process takes a little time, as others have mentioned. However, the attention to detail is clear, and it's worth the wait to enjoy such a thoughtfully made treat. If you visit in the evening, I recommend bringing a jacket. The interior of the building adds to the ambiance but can get a bit chilly at night. Overall, the vibe is relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a delicious dessert.

Yelp
The most delicious icecream I've had in my life. It is so creamy and the perfect consistency. I had the yuzu icecream and the lavender icecream and was truly blown away. You can't tell that it's made with coconut cream and that it's vegan! I'm wondering if I'll ever find another icecream that tops Awan. The minimalist aesthetics of the store with all the earthy colors, the beautiful colors of the icecream and the carefully crafted toppings elevate the entire experience.

Yelp
Awan is by far my favorite vegan ice cream spot in LA. Their flavors are all unique, high quality, not too sweet (looking at you Salt & Straw) and they manage to nail the ice cream texture despite being vegan. I no longer despise my lactose intolerance, because I discovered Awan as a result! This location has more flavor options than their other location in West Hollywood; however, their line is typically longer. FLAVOR (5/5): 1. MINT CHOC CHIP: My favorite of all the ones I've tried. I've been craving mint chocolate chip ice cream and I can finally eat it to my heart's content. This one comes with a chocolate topping and the combination of the creaminess of the ice cream with the crunch of the chocolate is divine. 2. GAVIOTA STRAWBERRY: These are made from Harry's Berries (expensive but high quality farmer's market berries) and I also love this flavor when I'm in a strawberry mood. 3. BLUEBERRY LAVENDER: Such a unique flavor that's so well-balanced. Similar to Salt & Straw's Honey Lavender but slightly fresher due to the blueberries. SERVICE (5/5): Service Is good! FYI If the line is too long and/or if it's near closing they won't allow for sampling. PARKING (3/5): Street parking, although there is a neighborhood nearby and you can try to snag a spot there. TAKEAWAYS: I really appreciate the creative decisions Awan is making while still using high quality ingredients. Even for people who aren't vegan, I'd recommend Awan as they have a wide range of unique flavors from fresh (with their Blue Yuzu Lemonade) to decadent (with their Chocolate Oreo). The attention to detail they have with each scoop is amazing and I'm in love with the toppings they delicately put on top. :)

Yelp
Been wanting to try this artisanal ice cream shop for a while and so happy they opened in Larchmont. You wouldn't think it's an ice cream shop from glancing at it but it is & it's one of the yummiest places I've tried. We've been a couple of times and it's the same server when we go and he's kind and friendly. They do samples of their ice creams too so that's a plus. The vibe is chill and the place is very aesthetically pleasing if you're into that sorta thing. Parking is only street metered parking. Unless you park in the residential but read the signs. Now for the flavors we've tried are the vanilla bean, the saffron pistachio date and the dayglow coffee. They all have tasted spectacular. Creamy, not too sweet and it's exactly what you'd expect an artisanal ice cream shop ice cream would taste like. Can't wait to try more!
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best ice cream in Los Angeles. I know we have so many options for ice cream in this city alone, and hands down, the best one! Flavors are so unique, yet they are not overpowering of any sort. Not overly sweet but very subtle, just enough to get you feeling good. I haven't tried all the flavors yet, but my favorite is the Almond Marzipan. I loved the chunks giving different textures. I just loved everything about it! The texture in general for Awan's ice cream is very smooth and creamy, as ice cream should be with its own style and unique flavors. Their Balinese Vanilla Bean was also so good, along with Gaviota Strawberry, made with the infamous Harrys Berries. I also really enjoyed the Greenglow Matcha and Spiced Apple Oat Crumble, which is basically the ice cream version of classic apple pie. Kluwek Chocolate Chip was also great and different from other chocolate chips you had in the past. The bittersweet Indonesian kluwek seed-infused chocolate chips are on another level! Waiting can be long on the weekends, especially after dinner time, but it is worth it. There is usually only one person working, so just keep that in mind. A few seats and tables inside but not too spacious. Street and meter parking only.

Yelp
My favorite (vegan) ice cream spot!!! The only downside is that they only have locations in LA, which means it can be hard to get to, especially since you would need to find street parking. We got their matcha, strawberry and blue yuzu flavor in their smallest size which around around $7. A bit pricey for the size that you get, but it's a sweet indulgence once in a while. The flavors were so pungent and strong, which I really liked, plus the coconut base was delicious. The aesthetic of the shop is also really unique, it's like you're in a modern cave. The way the ice cream is scooped up is also beautiful, so perfectly round and smooth. The service was also great, you're able to try out their flavors. Overall, a nice spot to check out if you're in the area!
google avatar

Vi H.

Yelp
Love the dairy free aspect, but my birthday cake flavor just tasted like coconut:/ the birthday cake chunks were grainy as well. Service was great and employee was patient as we sampled flavors!
google avatar

Kristina T.

Yelp
I was with my friends, and one of them suggested trying Awan for ice cream, so off we went. There is no parking lot, but we somehow found street parking quickly. However, everything moved at a much slower pace after that. There was a long line and only one person working very slowly. My friends and I made the most of our time in line by enjoying the cave ambiance, looking at the menu, and soaking in the sticker shock. The ice cream is vegan and is made using ingredients from Indonesia. Aside from ice cream, there are merch items, like spoons and hoodies. However, the prices are steep at $8 for a single scoop and $10 for a split scoop. I sampled some flavors and decided on a split scoop of blueberry lavender and mint chocolate chip. The ice cream was tasty, and I would not have known that it was vegan because it was so creamy. Awan is a unique ice cream shop, and I feel that the quality justifies the steep pricing. However, there are plenty of good ice cream shops out there with lower prices.
google avatar

Anita M.

Yelp
Incredibly pure flavors. Exquisite ingredients. Kind service that was knowledgeable about the ingredients which is important to me and a distinguishing factor for quality businesses. Stark cavelike ambiance though.
google avatar

Ivy L.

Yelp
Must try!!! Where do I start- so this spot is Indonesian ice cream with high quality ingredients and everything is lactose free and made with coconut milk. The best flavors by far in my opinion are the vanilla bean, yuzu lemonade, matcha, and kluwek chocolate chip. The flavors are not too sweet and just perfectly creamy. You can order a small jar to go or if you want to order two scoops, that size comes with a lid. You can also just order a small cup which comes with one scoop (one flavor)! There's street parking in the area and we came around 8PM and there wasn't a long wait at all. The person was so friendly and let us try a couple flavors each before making our final decision. I have a feeling this will be a new fav go to ice cream spot for me.
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
My friend heard about this place so we went to check it out. Since it is LA, you'll have to find street parking. We were lucky enough to do. The flavors sounded interesting. The person taking our order was helpful with the most popular flavors and gave samples. Gaviota Strawberry (5/5): This was actually so good. Everything is vegan but it still taste smooth and creamy. The strawberry flavor was perfect. My friends got the Blue Yuzu Lemonade and Greenglow Matcha. Both were also very good. The yuzu was strong. The interior was a very burnt orange stone vibe. It is a storefront with just a ceiling fan. There is some seating around. I would give it a 5 star but $6 for a 3 oz kids scoop is expensive..
google avatar

Melanie G.

Yelp
Creamiest vegan ice cream I've had (even creamier than some dairy ice creams)! So good. The strawberry is tart, and the matcha balances sweet and bitter perfectly well! $8 for a scoop and $10 for a split scoop, but definitely worth trying at least once The clay cave aesthetic is cool too and this location is connected to a coffee shop (DayGlow) next door
google avatar

Taryn I.

Yelp
Awan's dairy free ice cream was some of the best dairy free ice cream we've ever had. The atmosphere of the place felt very LA, it was as if we were walking into a cave. This made us feel a little weary about if the ice cream was good but no need to fear. They have a wide variety of flavors that change given the season. Some of our favorites include the almond marzipan, apple crumble, and birthday cake.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Vegan ice cream is good in its own right in both texture and taste, but it's not the same as dairy ice cream. The ice cream at Awan had a consistency that felt like frozen yogurt, but slightly more creamy, and also had a slightly tartness. I wouldn't say I was wowed by what I got and I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here, but if I'm in the area, I'd come back. They have a lot of interesting flavors that I was curious to try, but it's $8 for a single scoop and $10 for a split scoop and the weight difference is only 1 oz. I felt a bit put off by this especially when places like Wanderlust Creamery charge the same price for a split scoop and single scoop.
google avatar

Jaquelyne L.

Yelp
The flavors are definitely unique. The texture and base is nice and creamy. The coconut base is not overpowering at all, but I do love coconut. I do wish they allowed sampling to help choose a flavor as it was difficult to envision based off the description alone given that such unique ingredients are used. It is quite expensive as well. It's a nice moment being Indonesian and seeing Indonesian ingredients being used in certain flavors as that is basically unheard of elsewhere. I got the gula jawa and matcha and both definitely tasted of it.
google avatar

Pepper B.

Yelp
First I think the times are wrong here. At the store the sign says they are open until 11pm. Great addition to the top section of Larchmont. The ice cream I'm giving 5 stars. It's DELICIOUS and SUPER CREAMY! The reason for the 4 stars is just the design of the store. It's built to cause a line. One tiny window so only one order at a time and everyone is tasting samples causes a line down the sidewalk which is what they're going for. It took me almost 30 mins from just outside the store front to get to the window to order an ice cream. That's dumb. The picture of the line is when I first walked up and it was almost 30 mins from there.
google avatar

Ahmed H.

Yelp
Stopped at Awan for a midweek pick me up. I've driven past the Hollywood location on Melrose a few times and the decor peaked my interest. When I discovered that it was vegan and well reviewed, I had to try. They have a variety of unique flavors and a few familiar. I got the split scoop of blueberry lemonade and chocolate Oreo while my partner got the saffron pistachio. I almost got the almond marzipan; sky's the limit!
google avatar

Yuri J.

Yelp
Awan's newest location in Larchmont offers TONS more flavors - it feels like you're in a dark cave and the dim lighting and red rock vibe interiors make it a whole experience. Servers are friendly, they let us sample many flavors (esp since there were many that I was curious). Def on the pricier side with $6 for kids scoop and $10 for split scoop, but they use high quality ingredients. My favs will always be the matcha, chocolate oreo and strawberry.
google avatar

Jadyn K.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream place in LA! I love their matcha and Kluwek Chocolate Chip flavor! The ice cream is soft and creamy and you can't really tell the base is coconut. Yes it is a bit expensive (single scoop $8 and split scoop $10), but it's that good!
google avatar

Kristy K.

Yelp
This is my new favorite ice cream place in LA and I cannot believe it's vegan! I had the split scoop of gaviota strawberry and mint chocolate chip. Both flavors were refreshing and rich in flavor. I also like the little topping each flavor comes with. There is a slight coconut taste, but not overpowering at all. Street Parking is available and recommend parking on Larchmont as there's usually more spots available.
google avatar

Seohyun P.

Yelp
blue yuzu lemonade: very refreshing and light. valencia orange: I would get a scoop of this if I want a citrusy fruity ice cream. It has that orange flavor, yet is very creamy. dayglow coffee: classic coffee ice cream. needs this on a pick me up day. almond marzipan: not what i was expecting at all. expected nuttiness, but it tasted more floral like. spiced apple oat crumble: heavy on the spiced apple. nonetheless, yummy! #1: gula jawa. I don't like coconut but this was sweet, creamy, interestingly yummy and addicting. I would order this next time. love the vibes here overall. great interior/exterior design.

Yelp
Awan is a relatively new ice cream spot that opened up several months ago in Larchmont area, specializing in Indonesian-inspired flavors. We sampled nearly all the options, and choosing favorites was super tough. The quality is evident, with fresh ingredients and a collaboration with local artisan vendors. My top picks that day were Blue Yuzu Lemonade, Valencia Orange, and Shinko Pear & Ginger. Each offered unique and refreshing flavors - that were tangy, bright, and perfectly balanced. We visited on a cold day around 12:30pm on a Sunday and found no line. However, the small space and single staff member suggest it could get busy on warmer days, so plan accordingly. I just heard that they were opening another location in LA Chinatown which is much closer to me so I'm excited for that!
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Fell in love with this place! Such unique flavors! I got saffron pistachio date rosewater and balinese vanila bean and they were both amazing. They allow you to taste up to 2 flavors per person so definitely take an advantage of it if you don't know what to get :) Ice cream was so creamy and flavorful Larchmont location also has a cool interior but seating is limited. It was easy to find a street parking nearby. Cant wait to go back to try more flavors
google avatar

Vince P.

Yelp
Awan is definitely up there as one of the most unique and flavorful ice cream spots I have been to in a while! This spot is serving up some vegan coconut-based ice cream with Indonesian-inspired flavors! They are located in Larchmont right next to Dayglow Coffee. Street parking will be your best bet here. Wifey and I came after our dinner around 8pm and it was pretty packed. They have a really interesting red brick interior which creates for a super cool effect when you're inside the shop. As for their ice cream, they have so many unique flavors to choose from. We had to sample like 8 of them before we could even decide! Wifey opted for a scoop of the gula jawa (coconut sugar) and I got a scoop of the Balinese vanilla bean. Both of them were so flavorful and creamy with the right amount of sweetness. Overall, this spot definitely makes a case for it to be up there as one of the best ice cream spots in all of SoCal. Not only are they gluten and dairy free, they also have some of the most unique flavors you won't find anywhere else. Stop by here for your next ice cream stop and see what all the hype is about for yourself!

Yelp
Was eager to try this newest location and it did not disappoint! This shop offers a wide section are great flavors that are all vibrant in their own unique way without compromising creamy texture and quality. They offer classic and seasonal flavors that are all worth trying. It's a great aesthetically cute spot to grab a nice cool treat with friends. Even with a line forming behind you the store associate always lets you sample any flavors you like which is greatly appreciated when new flavors launch. Highflying recommend this shop for quality vegan ice cream that is delicious.

Yelp
Thrilled to have an Awan location in this part of town! It's a little nook next to Dayglow Coffee that will stay cool throughout the summer. You can try samples of their Indonesian-inspired vegan, gluten free ice cream - my current favorite is the greengrow matcha - great strong flavor - as well as the blue (spirulina) yuzu lemonade that even comes with a little candied yuzu garnish. Street parking on Melrose or Larchmont. Very happy they're continuing to expand here and eventually into Chinatown.

Yelp
Ice cream is delicious as usual and service is amazing! Moe was working the shift and was really nice about sharing the flavors that he liked and new seasonal flavors. He was amazing and my favorite is the strawberry one, and I also tried the quince one and that one was really good!

Yelp
Unique and delicious flavors in a non-traditional ice cream shop, but worth the visit! Awan gets five stars solely for their matcha ice cream--the most bold and matcha-forward ice cream I've ever had, and it doesn't taste water downed at all. A must try if you're a matcha fan! I also ordered a yuzu calamansi--refreshing, but the flavors weren't as punchy as I would've hoped. Street parking in the nearby neighborhood was easy enough to find. Definitely check Awan out on these hot summer days!

Yelp
The hype is real! The best vegan ice cream I've ever had. Every flavor I tried was super creamy, they allowed two samples per person so my sister and I tried the blue yuzu, saffron, Valencia orange and saffron pistachio. The saffron pistachio was the clear winner, the flavor was super complex with sweetness coming from the dates and a very subtle rose flavor at the end. We stopped by on a Monday night and there was still a line, about a 20 minute wait but I thought it was worth it. The only disappointments I have for this place is that there isn't enough seating and prices are very high. One scoop is $8 and a split I think was $10. I guess that's 'LA' prices for you though.

Yelp
Pros: High-quality vegan ice cream. Respectable but not delectable flavors. Cool, peaceful atmosphere. A unique and slightly trippy experience, in a good way (you'll understand when you go). Cons: Line can be prohibitively long and the service is excruciatingly slow. Everything has a hint of coconut because all their flavors are made with coconut milk. Awan is not a place I can imagine going to on the regular because of all the above considerations. However, I think everyone should try this place once by virtue of its uniqueness, sincerity, and creativity.

Yelp
Took forever to try Awan, but heard many many good things. Well deserved, as this place has easily become one of my top 3 ice cream shops in SoCal. The decor is so unique and the ice cream is AMAZING. The coconut base makes everything sososososo smooth and creamy. I don't even like the taste of coconut, but trust me you don't really taste it at all. Great for the lactose-intolerant peeps too. Got to taste test many flavors and ended up picking 2 citrus heavy ones: - Blue yuzu lemonade: love everything with yuzu. It was just the perfect amount of sour and sweet. The blue color is also very eye-catching and aesthetic. - Valencia orange: Not a super rare flavor but this one really tastes like you're eating real oranges!

Yelp
Pretty good ice cream, just a bit expensive to me! It's so cool that their ice creams are vegan! I tasted the coconut in the birthday cake ice cream but not so much in the strawberry. I'm not sure if $6 for a kids cup is worth it tho.

Yelp
We saw this place on Instagram a little while ago and wanted to come check it out! On our day trip out to LA we made sure to stop by to try Awan out! It did not disappoint! I got the Blue Yuzu Lemonade! Definitely one of the creamiest and unique Vegan Ice Creams that I've had! The Blue Yuzu Lemonade had the perfect amount of tart and sweetness to it! Also the building looks like a clay cave which is also cool and it's attached to a coffee shop!
