B. Matthew's Eatery

I'm in town visiting some former Tinder flames and one recommended I come by B. Matthew's Eatery. We came just before brunch ended and despite that the staff was still happy to let us order. The food was awesome. I had the Black Bean sandwich (I think that's what it was called) with a side of mac and cheese and my one Chica had the Reuben with some salad. We also had the cheese plate as an appetizer. The scene is good epecially as a tourist. Feels almost as if it's a Red Lobster in another dimension. Not sure how to explain it, but I really like the atmosphere. And our waitress was a sweetheart. The only minor complaint I have is the Cheese appetizer. The cheeses weren't bad, but at the price it should have either had a larger serving size or better tasting cheeses. Besides that, B. Matthew's Eatery got everything right. Would definitely let a Tinder / Hinge / Bumble date take me her for some food to try to impress me. Recommend for sure.

This location is great - right by the river. We didn't have to wait long, and the food and atmosphere were great! Family friendly, casual, and cozy. The only issue was the waiter - he was rushing us the entire time and barely said a full sentence to us. We were treated like an inconvenience, and the restaurant was busy but not packed. Overall the place is a worthwhile stop for the food itself - the Bay Street Scramble was top notch.

We came from out of town with a larger party (9) and no reservation. We were sat pretty fast at a large table in the back. The service was excellent and we had lovely chats with the various servers. Food was excellent. We shared two servings of the fried green tomatoes that was topped with a chipotle sauce. The kids chicken tenders and pancakes looked delicious and was well received. The adults got the shrimp and grits and the crab benedict. Highly recommend putting this on your must visit/eat location.

Best brunch place, best avocado toast! If you want to know what a proper avocado toast should look like — this is the best place to experience it. A huge piece of medium-rare salmon placed on a soft tasty bread with tomatoes. It was delicious. I don't know how I will order an avocado toast somewhere else 🥲

The Tradesmen Group hosted our Annual Work With Purpose Awards/Holiday Party in the private upstairs dining venue. As a 100% employee-owned company that specializes in historic restoration, we appreciated the environment/ambiance and historic setting, with some of our crew commenting on the beautiful brickwork and wood trim! The space, for our group of 20-25, allowed for comfortable mingling, intimate dining and we really appreciated having the whole floor to ourselves, allowing us to fully enjoy the company of our team. Our dedicated server/bartender, Haley, and Manager Elizabeth were super attentive and wonderful to work with all night. The appetizers/buffet/dessert presentation was lovely and ALL put out precisely on time. The food received rave reviews from everyone, and they happily provided To Go containers for leftovers. They were super accommodating when our event went a little long, since we were having such a great time with our crew. We appreciated their attention to details and willingness to do whatever was needed to make our night such a huge success.

Adorable Spot with Southern Charm Our visit to Savannah B Matthews Eatery was absolutely delightful. This quaint, charming spot is beautifully decorated, featuring gorgeous brick walls that add to the cozy atmosphere. We went for brunch and were impressed with everything we tried. The drinks were standout—our favorites were the Gas Lit Mary, the Rochester Coffee, and the Peach Tree Street, each of them perfectly crafted and delicious. For food, I had the Fried Green Tomato and Crab Cake Benny paired with creamy cheese grits and a side of turkey apple sausage. Every bite was full of flavor with a hint of southern twang. We also tried the soup du jour, a rich and comforting tomato bisque. My husband enjoyed the Biscuits and Gravy with fried potatoes—classic, hearty, and delicious. It was our first stop in Savannah, and we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city’s culinary scene. The staff was also super friendly and it was super quick service. Highly recommend this adorable eatery!

Enjoyed the shrimp and grits + espresso martini and artillery punch. Server (Nathaniel?) was awesome. It was quiet for a Friday night, in a good way. We were one of the only groups around 9:30 pm. Only complaint is that the chicken thighs were a little overcooked but the flavor was there. Would go back!

We walked in and sat at the bar. The service was prompt and very knowledgeable. Best shrimp and grits we've had! Thank you for a delicious meal and tasty drinks!
