Loved the ambiance, vibes, and authentic seating, majlis. We were visiting Boston from NYC and went in without reservation on Sunday night. The restaurant was fully packed, definitely favorite among locals. We had to wait for being seated. I appreciate they accommodated us on their busy night. Finding parking was a mission.
Food wise, I think the portion was on the smaller side, and lamb haneeth was missing on taste. We love yemini food, and we frequently eat at "Dar ul yemen," and Yemen Cafe in NYC also had a chance to eat at "Ard ul Yemen" in NJ. Haneeth has more flavorful taste, but their was more bland. They do give you spicy sauce, which we got refilled. Chicken Kabsa mentions half chicken on the menu, but they serve you pulled chicken pcs/bits buried in rice. Staff said it was spicy, but it wasn't at all.
Yemini tea was lacking the taste, too (not sure about authenticity as I have never been to Yemen, but so many restaurants can't copy fake recipes around NYC and get almost similar taste). We also tried yemini dessert, i think it was masoob that tasted good, bread and banana pudding with Qishta on top.
Good experience overall. I loved the place because of its ambiance.
