Vegas’s original gourmet burger truck still prowls the city with an All‑American–meets‑Japan menu. Regular late‑night stops downtown keep service workers fed, and its cult status has been cemented by Eater Vegas and Food Network features.

BACKSTAGE! Located on the fabulous Freemont street across the famous El Cortez hotel and casino, this is a venue I recommend on a weekend. It's got that old black light poster 80s and 90s nostalgia to it. Every Friday my good friend Shaun Fitzy, hosts a comedy show "fitzy and friends". I will be there this weekend for the upcoming show. If you love comedy, stop on by. For all you drinkers, they have what you need. And meet the friendly staff and say hi. See you guys there.

Went to my first show here recently and was impressed. Great sound, good staff and clean. Happy to find a venue this size in town that welcomes rock and metal.

Great venue!! Great price!! The perfect size to really get up close with the band. We saw Nonpoint, it was epic!🤘 Drinks were pricy but easy to get. We will definitely be back.

Amamzing atmosphere! The staff was friendly and the regulars were so welcoming and nice. Drinks average city prices but not LA, Las Vegas prices. $8 long Island. It was Karaoke night on Tuesday and the KJ was respectful and very good at keeping the list moving. He even warned people signing up about how long it'll be. Efore they sang next. The bar had an outdoor section for smokers as well. Good seating and again, amazing atmosphere. I will definitely visit again.

Saw an acoustic concert here in January on a Saturday night. Fits right in with the downtown local scene. Awesome venue, I smoke and I thought it was cool that they kept it out of the bigger show room and offer full bars all around that were VERY accessible. Didn't look like anyone had an issue getting a drink quickly. Stage views are pretty sketchy in the back, but overall it's a cool spot. The first smaller room has a stage, themed full bar, billiards and cocktail tables. Loved the atmosphere and choice of decor. Emo night was FREE afterwards, so we walked out to more live music, wasn't super crazy crowded even after the show let out. I'll def be back for more.

Solid venue. Easy to see the stage. Only complaint is that they take their time opening the doors. Luckily, Vegas let's you drink outside. Saw The HorrorPops, The Quakes, and Franks & Deans.

Yelp
Went here during Punk Rock Bowling and it was awesome for a concert. Nice and spacious with a great placement for seating just off from the stage and enough room to crowd up around it and dance. I ended up shuffling in there from the concerts ending at Country Club next door, not sure if they're connected more than physically but that was a plus too to be able to shuffle off to the next venue. Looking forward to any future concerts here

Yelp
The venue is great. Drinks cheap and good. So I'm unsure how to give stars here. Because the event was horrible, we left after 15min. We bought tickets for the burlesque show it said starts at 9pm when we walked in 8.50pm it had already started????... but it was more a freaksjow than burlesque, reminding me of the Amazing weird show I saw at the artisan years ago only this one was 1% of that shows talent. Worst part is the weirdo presentator that felt the need to talk 5 min most not understandable between acts. The acts itself were boring, long, just watching a slow striptease honestly of ... trying to say this respectful, not women I even prefer to see naked but that's to each their own. However my male friend was the one wanting the leave because he was more annoyed and disgusted than me and I was happy to walk out too!!

Yelp
I have never been in this venue. Last night I went first time. The venue itself is roomy enough. They have a pretty large bar. There is a lot behind the venue to park. It's fairly cheap, and it's super close to the venue. All in all, I was happy with the sound quality. They are always having bands playing, so its a great place to go catch new bands.

Yelp
Easy to get to and right at the corner of Fremont Went to the bubble rave with shapeshftr headlining and had a great time! Drinks were served with a heavy pour and the staff was friendly Restrooms were clean as well

Yelp
Been going here for years. Last night I had a tab open. I had bought beers for friends and myself throughout the night. Surprised to get a $167 bill at the end of the night for maybe eight - ten beers total. I usually settle up between each order but I thought it would be ok. My mistake, I won't be spending money here anymore.

Yelp
I was extremely dissatisfied with my evening there tonight. The older blonde woman working the door and taking the money was rude and short. Then, I find out that it costs 10 per person, per hour, to play pool. So, the five of us would have to choke up 50 dollars to play on a single pool table. Then, I had to run to the car to get cash, and they charged me five dollars to get back as their was "no readmittance" which they failed to tell me when I left. It's been a little while since I felt a place was so hostile and cold. I would never choose to return.

Mark G.

Yelp
Great venue, but I was disappointed the headline band was advertised at 8pm but didn't come out until much later than that. I expected their to be a warm up band beforehand, but no band even started until 9pm, I waited until shortly after 10pm then only the 2nd warm up band started, so I left. This is false advertisement to get ppl in the door early. Not to mention probably the most expensive bottles of water in town $6
google avatar

Krystal L.

Yelp
Not the best music venue in town. For starters, the venue is small and even smaller when they have two large pool tables on the floor during concerts. Drink wise, the selection is minimal but the prices are reasonable so it's really a wash. Sound levels are usually good, but security is practically non existent which makes for a somewhat unpleasant experience if it's a too rowdy crowd. Also, the worst part is the no re-entry policy. Smoking is allowed, but since smokers cant re-enter and there's no designated smoke area, the place just fills up with second hand smoke. For the right band sometimes you have to suck it up and see them at a smaller venue which is why I've been to this venue a few times in the past, but I really hope they change a few of their policies to make it a more enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Yelp
With the lack of small venues featuring Rock music in Las Vegas Backstage Bar & Billiards is a breath of fresh air. Tired of seeing your favorite indy act reduced to thirty minutes at a festival with fifty other artists for $199? Check out the line-up including a recent visit from The Appleseed Cast and an upcoming show from Cursive. Easy in and out, plenty of close parking and tons of local eateries like Carson Kitchen nearby plus excellent acoustics - can't really ask for more.

Yelp
03/15/24 CONCERT My least favorite venue in Las Vegas. Why? Because they make you stand outside waiting to get in when the door time specified everywhere online has already passed 45 minutes ago. Because you get an overpriced cocktail but then you ask for a water and they won't just "gun" you free water in a cup, instead you must pay $6.50 for a single small Crystal Geyser. (They sell 36 bottles in a pack of that same water at Costco Downtown for $5.98.) Because the sightlines are terrible and they have a VIP section off to the side where they can rake in way more cash from admissions (one wonders, does the band get any kickbacks from such nonsense?) and thus making sightlines all the more difficult. The only good thing is a single couch in the very back, if you are ADA, but if you don't get there the moment the doors open, good luck. Sadly I must attend some concerts at this venue, due to artists who rarely come to Vegas, but I try not to go here if I can.

Cecelia W.

Yelp
came here for the shwazey concert. alcohol in the drinks are less than less of 1/4 of the drink. seriously didn't even taste like alcohol at all. very disappointing. the backbar dude took away my drink with some still in there too. he got me another with the amount he took & it was only a splash. tasted like i drank nothing but soda. never again will i order drinks from here.

Yelp
We got comedy tickets and we're looking forward to the show. Our ticket said to arrive at 7:30 for an 8 PM start time. When we arrived at 7:30 The facility was not ready for an 8 PM show. We were told to come back at 8:30 PM. We happily complied, and when we got back at 8:30 there was a long line. We happily waited and looked forward to the comedy. When we finally got in to the facility at approximately 850. There was absolutely zero seating. Seating is on a first come first serve basis and it is in short supply. At approximately 9pm they said the show would be starting soon. At 9:15 I was told the show was starting any minute. The people in the crowd were growing anxious. While waiting I ordered a water and a Coca-Cola. It cost $8. When I was done enjoying my $8 Coke and water we left. The show had yet to begin. And who knows if it ever did. In short the place has a cool vibe but obviously the staff is unorganized and they are not prepared for the size of crowd they had in. Too bad!

Yelp
I went to a concert at Triple B's last night. Overall the venue is fine and the staff was friendly. The drinks aren't overpriced like most bars in Vegas. Once you check in with the guy at the door there is no re-entry which would normally be fine but they allow people to smoke in the venue. I was there from 8:30-12am in a smoked filled room. It's pretty ridiculous in 2022 that they allow people to smoke all night long with no section for people to go outside AT ALL. Or maybe having a smoking section outside like almost every other bar/venue downtown.

Yelp
Saw a friends band play here. Venue itself isn't bad as far as a band goes. Bar was a little expensive for a dive style environment (especially after paying $20 to get in) while concerts of headlining bands on Fremont Street were free. Billiards was the loosest term I've ever seen. One 7ft (standard size) table, Couldn't even have a real slate table?

Yelp
Went to see Black Marble on Wednesday night. Yelp said they are closed on Wednesday, but I believe that they just opened for a special event? not sure. It was a small lounge/bar. They had a bar inside so I could grab my drink and enjoyed my show. First time at this location, but a great experience. (Since it is also billiards, the smell of cigarettes could bother you if you are a non-smoker. I had a really hard time but I was fine after 30 min or so).

Yelp
Honestly my least favorite concert venue in town. They get some great bands and have a nice drink selection, but I just don't think the place was built as a concert venue. The giant pillars on the concert floor are super annoying (show up a little late and you're almost guaranteed to get stuck behind them). Sound levels are bad. Staff can be snippy and rude. Perhaps worst of all, they allow smoking on the concert floor. Every time I try to dance in the pit, I find myself suffocating in a giant cloud of secondhand smoke. I'll only go there if I really love the band.

Miguel F.

Yelp
Went to see a pyschobilly show and didn't let me wreck that's part of the mosh pit the show they are so uptight I was there not long ago and everything was good idk what's going but they don't let people enjoy the show

Yelp
Love this place. I love seeing bands here and the drinks are local friendly as far as pricing. It's right by a lot of trendy food spots too, so when you get a chance. Check. It. Out.

Yelp
Love this venue. Great sound, good bar and merch placement. If you even are somewhat interested in a band and they're playing here, don't hesitate to go and see them. The bartenders are attentive. At a music venue! Blew my mind. Great location by Fremont too. Lots to do before or after a show. The shows even start on time! I'm glowing.

Bob K.

Yelp
Been here 3 times to see a total of 9 bands/performers. Audio mixing for 7/9 was like trying to watch a Christopher Nolan movie w/ blown out audio. The 2/9 acceptable mixes were merely decent (both end of night headliners). Still they somehow get amazing talent to show up constantly? No re-entry, so you have people chainsmoking and vaping onto other patrons, be sure to bring a mask if you don't want to constantly choke on candy-scented smoke Large 'Fremont Country Club' stage is mostly fine, but BBB bar stage has a lot of viewing space blocked by support beams, and floor space blocked by tables (seems like billiards are now closed off during shows, thank god). If someone you love is headlining, it is worth arriving a few hours late to skip the openers and coughing fits so that you can see one of your faves, otherwise; steer clear.

Yelp
Great $1.00 beers and $2.00 hotdogs. Awesome place with great people. You gotta check this place out for a change of pace in Vegas.

Yelp
I like the layout of the Backstage, Bar & Billiards, but I'm not really sure what they're going for; is it a live concert venue or pool hall? I was here last Saturday and just decided to pop-in for a bit to check out the place. They were charging $5 at the door, but if you're playing pool you get in for free, how do they regulate that?..."Ummm, yeah. I'm here to play pool", I told the door guy. As I walked in and looked around the first thing I noticed was the decor; Led Zeppelin framed tour-shirts, a lot of label issued gold records on the walls, and the use of road-cases as stools surrounding the bar, these looked cool although I can't imagine them being too comfortable after awhile. They also had Limp Bizkit and House of Pain stuff everywhere and this almost garnered a two star review. But after doing some homework I found out that one of the co-founders of the BBB used to be the DJ in these two bands...or something. The drinks were strong and fairly inexpensive by Vegas standards. The place was pretty empty and the band was still setting up, so I decided to play some pool after all. The cost $10 an hour so depending on how good you are; this is either a great deal or highway robbery, I'm somewhere in between. My GF and I played pool for a while and watched a few of the local bands performing that night. I might have just been here on a off night, but the crowd felt very young and almost "high school cliquey". A lot of "kids" were running around to each group and whispering stuff? I don't know what was going on here. After our hour of pool was up we decided to call it a night at BBB and said our farewells. The staff here was great, the drinks were strong and the venue has a cool look, but I'll definitely have to come back when they have bigger acts playing. Maybe a few more booties in the door and a couple more shots of whiskey will liven this place up next time.

Yelp
UPDATE: 8/6/17 Triple B's no longer has re-entry :( What makes Backstage Bar & Billiards stand out from other concert venues is that they actually allow crowd surfing, smoking, and re-entry. Mosh pits were practically unregulated. People that crowd surfed their way onto the stage were unceremoniously shoved off. Another very cool feature of the venue was that members of the lineup bands mingled with patrons. This may be due to the nature of the bands playing (Carnival of Death Tour 2014). Bands were selling their merch along the back wall and watching the shows with the rest of us. Basically, if you're out for a rockin' good time, Backstage Billiards can definitely provide that kind of atmosphere. The venue itself was decent sized. There was ample seating which my tired feet and legs are grateful for. Couches lined along the right side of the wall and stools were at the bar and scattered throughout the venue. There were 2 pool tables that occupied the center of the bar. It's not like anyone is going to play pool during a concert, so these were just in the way. Unfortunately, the bar does not have draft beer. To me, this is unacceptable. If you're going to call yourself a bar, you better have some beer on tap! PBR short cans were $4 each. Ouch. Service was okay - the bar was pretty slammed and there were only 2 bartenders. Backstage Bar & Billiards is set up in a great location at Downtown Fremont. It's a stone's throw away from the newly opened Market, Container Park, and Le Thai. I look forward to seeing more bands play here in the future. :)

Yelp
very unprofessional, dirty venue, terrible customer service. take your money elsewhere.

Ann S.

Yelp
I love the place for shows. But I came last night. 20$ for a double shot of we'll tequila. Not cheap, but ok. Then I come back 30 minutes later. A SINGLE shot of well tequila, and 2 bottles of water is some how 28$. Seems like they are just making up prices and ripping people heads off. Not ok.

Yelp
I went to see one of my favorite bands play here last month. It was GREAT! I like the size of the space as a concert venue. I have been to bars and hole-in-the-wall venues that are small and intimate, but sometimes they are just a little tight. This place makes great use of their space and the bar is big. I see from some of the pictures and other reviews that they must have some pool tables here when there isn't a band playing. If so, I am going to have to come back and play some pool sometime.

Yelp
Che was the absolute best bartender we've had all mf week! If you're on Fremont and need a great place to hang for a good laugh or just need a good time, yall definitely need to come !!

Yelp
I came here to check out some bands with a friend. It's a really cool venue. They've got pool tables and multiple TV screens playing old movies. The seats at the bar are like converted trunks, and there's also seating along the walls. The bathrooms are clean, too. However, if you're looking to get a good buzz going, I'd recommend pregaming it. I thought the drinks were expensive ($5-8) and not strong at all. The good thing is you can re-enter the venue without having to pay the cover again. They give you a wristband.

Yelp
OK, so....I came out on Wednesday night to see a friend's band, and on Saturday for the Depeche Mode tribute band. First of all, they opened the doors 30 minutes after the posted time on Wednesday. Not a huge deal on a normal occasion, but it was really bloody windy out there, and we were pretty uncomfortable. Inside, the set up is pretty cool. The stage looks nice, and the bar is huge. Prices are not bad for Fremont street. $6-8 per drink was the range on what my husband and I had that night. Definitely not bad. The bartender was cool, and attentive. They could have staffed better on Saturday, because they were packed, and only had 2 bartenders...made for a long wait time. The biggest problem I had was the sound. On both Wednesday AND Saturday night the sound was AWFUL. On Wednesday, during the headliner, there was a tremendous amount of feedback, where there hadn't been before. On Saturday, apparently there was a power outage which caused the sound check to run 3-4 hours late. I get it, you can't help the weather, and power outages...but after the power was back up, it shouldn't have been THAT difficult to get the sound check done correctly. Instead, the band went on 30 minutes late, and for the first 3-4 songs, had to continually call out to the sound guy, making gestures to turn up the volume, asking him to put more sound in their monitors...I'm sorry but with the number of concerts I've been to, I've NEVER seen a band give direction to the sound guy. EVER. Will I be back? Sure. I liked the bar and the staff, and they've probably got the cheapest drinks on Fremont Street. However, if I go to see a band, I will lower my expectations for the sound.

Yelp
Thank you so much Lee! Most professional and personable bartender I've met so far the vibe of this place is awesome highly recommend

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Smokers gonna love this, YES you can smoke inside lol but you can't leave and come back, I think you gotta stand in line again if there is. I drink beers and order by the bucket. Pretty steep for 5 beers in a bucket at $50. But all in all atmosphere was great and the two bartenders there were cool.

Yelp
Attended a show here last nite (only my 2nd the whole year) and was very excited - but after awhile I noticed that there were several unmasked audience members who had no beverages in sight. If the venue had been checking vaccination statuses, I wouldn't have had an issue, but this made me feel unsafe and I ended up leaving the show early. Pretty disappointing, I really want to support the venues (and Triple B is normally a regular destination - I have a show to go here next month with tickets already bought, can't say I will go now), but I'm not putting myself needlessly at risk.
google avatar

Ife A.

Yelp
OK, first things first. If you are a local and have not started hanging out Downtown yet, then all I have to ask is "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!?" Hurry up and get your booty down here. It's pretty much the business. Secondly, you need to make a trip to this sweet spot. Especially if you are a musician or someone who loves music. This place screams "rocker chic." From the vinyl on the walls to the amp cases used as bar stools, you gotta appreciate the effort and cool sophistication in design at this bar. You gotta go when Danny is working. He was super nice, took care of me, and was really excited about the place. He made sure I had a great time! He even gave me the grand tour of their super-secret, super amazing hidden back room.... Pretty swanky if ya ask me. It was slow while I was there (Monday night), but they had a pretty cool special going on: I got a mug of PBR on tap and a large shot of rail whiskey for $6. Not tasty in the least, but you will be pretty good to go afterward lol. Apparently, they are also building a large music venue next door. So keep an eye out for future awesome live bands in the near future. I can't wait!! PS- This place also has pretty much the best doorman this side of I-15. Shout out to White Boy Tim!! I see you, baby!! LOL!

Yelp
First review of 2013!! Neon lights, strong pours, loud music, and a great staff. Now top that off with a fun game of pool with friends. Backstage Bar & Billiards, located on the east end of Fremont, is a nice change of pace. Keep in mind that this is a bar first, hang out second, and pool hall third. Don't expect to come here and think you're Tom Cruise from the Color of Money. This place is more of a lounge where you can just relax, have a drink, and even enjoy a game of 8-Ball. Drinks are priced about average to this side of town. No Las Vegas strip prices here. New, spacious, clean, and free of the overwhelming stench of smoke. Regarding the pool, $10 an hour which is not bad. Because it's dark and the lighting is all neon, it will take a few games for your eyes to adjust. Tables are small, but bigger than your coin operated bar tables. Felt is also lightning fast, which means more action on the cue ball for all you players that play for shape on the next ball. Only a handful of tables and luckily I was here when it wasn't busy. Overall, I like this place for a drink and maybe a quick game of pool. If you're looking for something different to do in the downtown area, tired of the usually bar scene, or just want to play a couple of games of pool, Backstage Bar & Billiards should be your destination. Happy New Years Everyone!!!

Yelp
This looks like a great venue for concerts, a few pool tables, cushioned seats along the walls and a large dance floor space. I love the old record players displayed on the wall and the speaker case bar stools(although not very comfortable). However there were several issues. 1) no one was there for the show and it was a very good local band Eddy Bear and the Cubbies. This leads me to believe there is something lacking in the marketing area as there were certainly people walking up and down freemont. 2) They had no beer on tap. Nothing. It looked like their taps were broken. 3) The bartender took our order and gave us our first round and then never came up to us again for a refill even though we were the only one in the bar. I will say this though, the pour was very generous and my drink was the way I like it, strong! This place has potential, but empty, it just reminded me of college parties after everyone had gone home.

Yelp
This place was awesome! Great setup for live bands, great bar, good size. Can't wait to see another show here.

Yelp
I came here the first week it opened and was excited to finally see a pool hall in the downtown area. They charge $10 an hour for pool, which is a little steep for my taste and unfortunately 2 tables out of 5 are uneven so when you play it's not going to be a fair game. Also the drinks are a bit high, but so are all the other bars in the down town area. I think having a bar/pool joint is an awesome idea, but gigs inside the bar isn't too smart... let me explain. I came here to play pool on a night when there was a gig getting ready to start on stage, which seemed fun until it started getting crowded and people kept bumping into my friends and I while we played pool. The whole night we were constantly excusing ourselves or asking people to move so we could finish our game of pool...ugh. If I ever come here again it'll be to enjoy a drink and live music, but not to play pool.

Yelp
Great venue for live music, great staff on hand, stellar management, and perfect location. Right in the heart of the Fremont East District, BBB has surpassed Beauty Bar as my favorite concert venue downtown. Less Hipster, more Rock and Roll! This place could become the top local indie music venue in Vegas...

Yelp
Very kool place, considering we can see it from our window that rocks. I don't really do bars however we would go here, great sound, kick-ass staff, and the owner is a Kool guy. Willie PSYCHO APPROVED

Yelp
Cool place, good sound system, and a good location if that area is part of your normal routine. I thought the prices on booze were a little high, but all things considered, a few beers or cocktails won't drive you broke. They are starting to book more divers bands, so I can only imagine this place taking off over the next year.

Yelp
The Backstage Bar and Billiards is a popular venue for live music, featuring local artists, tribute bands, and national tours. My initial visit to the bar was to see Save Ferris play their first show in over fifteen years.   Save Ferris is a ska-band from California who reached the height of their popularity during the late-90s. I remember buying their first album "It Means Everything" at the Hot Topic in my local shopping mall. Their first single "The World Is New" was featured in several movies and television shows, but it was the band's cover of "Come On Eileen" that brought them their biggest success and notoriety.  In the wake of Save Ferris' follow-up release, 1999's Modified, considered a commercial and critical disappointment, several original band members jumped ship. What followed was a decade-plus legal battle, with band members fighting over who gets to tour and record under the name of "Save Ferris." Ultimately, lead singer Monique Powell was granted the rights to use the original band name. You would never know that this was the band's first show in fifteen years. Powell has real stage presence and looks just as lovely as she did during the 90s. The set list consisted of the band's well-known hits, leaning heavily on tracks from their first album and some new songs from their newly-released EP, Checkered Past. The venue was intimate, providing a great view to everyone in the audience. The ticket prices were also very reasonable. I had a great time.

Yelp
This place is like a well kept secret in downtown Vegas! The DJ is great and the bar tending staff was friendly, professional and still fun enough to participate in some karaoke! A great time. We already want to go back.

Yelp
Went to see GWAR and bartender Skylar was awesome! He helped me with their beer on tap! Went with IPA per Skylars recommendation. Bar decor was really cool too! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Almost famous karaoke around midnight was pretty dead on a Tuesday. Didn't really hang around long but managed to take a couple of mirror selfies on the way to the restroom. Dig the black lighting and pool table area. Last time j was here I saw Hannibal Buress live comedy.

Yelp
We found this place because they were doing kareoke on Thursdays. Laid back neighborhood bar type vibe, fun atmosphere and our bartender Lee was AWESOME. The prices on drinks were fantastic, the patrons were friendly and everyone was having a great time. And be sure to ask for Lee, she's friendly and a great bartender!
