The Best Burgers in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Hours: Open from 11 a.m. daily except Tuesday. Closes at 10 p.m. most nights, and midnight on Friday and Saturday. James Piazza originally sold his smash burgers from a food truck, moving in early 2024 to a tidy downtown space that subtly evokes the burger joints of yore. Juicy smash burgers, whose crispy edges extend well beyond the buns, are made from locally raised K4 Ranch beef, then topped with melting American cheese, pickles, and raw or griddled onions, depending on the order (Double or Classic Double). The waffle fries are first-rate, as is a simple dessert of Strauss’s organic soft serve. Best for: A thumping burger bar vibe and burgers stacked high with pastrami and personality." - McConnell Quinn

Best New Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona, Spring 2025 | Eater Phoenix

"Downtown Phoenix’s burger bar darling has made its debut in Old Town Scottsdale. James “Jimmy” Piazza opened the original Bad Jimmy’s in 2023, bringing delicately smashed and griddled burgers and tattoo-parlor-meets-diner energy to a sleepy stretch of Pierce Street. The Scottsdale sequel sticks to the same playbook: thumping music, red leather booths, a full bar and twirly soft serve finished with olive oil and sea salt. The L.A. Burg flips its top bun and piles on pastrami, while all the beef (and beef bacon) comes from Arizona’s K4 Ranch. Waffle fries, High Life, natural wine, and rotating specials like smoked and fried wings or goat cheese strawberry cheesecake round out the menu. It also signals a shift, as some of Downtown Phoenix’s most exciting names have started to test the waters in Old Town — judging by the daily lines, this one’s already landed." - McConnell Quinn

Bad Jimmy's - Review - Downtown - Phoenix - The Infatuation

"Bad Jimmy’s is basically the tattooed version of your classic American burger joint—a little rebellious, kind of loud, and always fun after dark. The menu at Bad Jimmy’s is tight, which comes in clutch when choosing between the Classic Double or the L.A. Burg after crawling the breweries and bars on Roosevelt. For the sides, you’ll be tempted to go for the criss-cut fries but you should probably give the salad a second look. Like any burger joint worth their salt, Bad Jimmy’s has a soft serve selection perfect for filling your soft spot for chocolate, vanilla, or swirl—just snag your cone on your way out to avoid awkward eye contact with your bartender between licks." - Lauren Topor

Phoenix, Arizona’s Best Restaurant Dishes and Drinks | Eater Phoenix

"Bad Jimmy’s is the new kid on the block, but it’s burgers have quickly become an icon in the local food scene. James Piazza, the mind behind Bad Jimmy’s, is an expert at perfecting the nostalgia of a classic smash burger. He launched Bad Jimmy’s as a pop-up during the pandemic, and its popularity led to a permanent location in downtown Phoenix. Bad Jimmy’s is consistently good, thanks in large part to its two juicy patties made from K4 Ranch premium Arizona beef, topped with American cheese, griddled onions, pickles, and a “secret sauce” (a spin on Thousand Island, but a dang good one), all nestled in a Martin’s potato bun." - McConnell Quinn

Google
Visiting family in Phoenix and Bad Jimmy’s was a MUST. I agree. Order at the counter. Find your spot inside or out. Get the kids settled and enjoy! Let’s talk about the burgers: simply one of the best and the hype about the waffle fries is true.

Google
This place is pretty cool! The vibes were great from the moment we walked in. It had a nice decor and plenty of table, bar and patio seating. The prices are good for the quality of the burgers which we thought were yummy. No frills, good food. They also offer a bar with a selection of drinks and cocktails which we didn’t get to try but will try next time. The service was quick and friendly. We got our food in about 15 minutes but I really liked the atmosphere of this place.

Burgers and drinks are very good. Staff is super friendly. AJ took care of us and made us feel welcomed. Definitely recommend to anyone that’s doubting to go.

Google
Exceptional food in a lively atmosphere, Bad Jimmy's is the best burger joint in Phoenix and possibly the entire state of Arizona. I cannot stress enough how perfect their amazing service and local beef makes for a premium eating experience in such a comfortable setting. There is a bar that also serves beer and alcohol.

Google
We really enjoyed this casual burger spot in Phoenix's Roosevelt Row. It has a retro, quirky burger joint vibe. The menu is small but intriguing. We had the double burger, a slab salad, and some waffle fries. Everything was good, and the prices were reasonable. The place has a bar on the other side, which would be a fun place to sit and have a cocktail with your burger. The salad was overdressed for my preference, but it tasted quite good. We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures of the food! The burger was a double smashburger with American cheese, nice grilled onions, pickles and their not-so-secret sauce. Seating is casual. The music was a little too loud for us to have a comfortable conversation. We would definitely come back here. We split all the food, and it was plenty for two of us.

Google
My friend and I came in to have the all famous Big Jimmys burgers. We both ordered the double with fries and a drink, each spending about $30. There was seating inside, at the bar, and outside. We choose to sit outside. We were so excited to try the burgers because it was hyped so much! First bite we took, we both looked at each other and knew what the other was thinking. The beef had a weird taste and smell to it. We are middle eastern and know when meat smells or taste gamy. By gamy I mean there’s some sort of lamb or lamb oil mixed into it. My friend asked one of the employees if there was lamb in the beef and he said no and it was premium beef from Arizona and there was no lamb in it. He asked if my friend liked it and she said no. He went inside and we didn’t hear from him at all. We were expensing someone from the staff to address our concern but no one came. So we threw out our food and walked out. It was very disappointing because we were very much looking forward to these burgers only to have had very highly priced underrated burgers. Freddys steak burgers taste better than this!

Google
Bad Jimmys makes being bad so good. I loved this place, from the atmosphere to the food it rocked. I got the LA Burger which was great but I’m slightly regretting not going for their double burger, maybe next time. Fries were hot and crisp and the not so secret sauce was great. Highly recommend making your way here.

Google
This place is amazing. Food is unique and oh-so-good. The people that work here are pretty awesome too. This is one of the very best places I have EVER been to downtown. Very clean- cool groovy music. I’ve got nothing negative to say about this secret little spot. I would absolutely recommend to anybody.

Yelp
Bad Jimmy's has a super simple menu, making it easy to order without overthinking. We came in as a group of 10 and were impressed with how quickly everyone got their food. While the space can feel a bit cramped on a busy day, we were lucky enough to snag the seating area right in front of the ordering counter. I went with the One LA Burger, and wow--it was packed with flavor and loaded with pastrami! Yes, it was messy, but absolutely worth it. Every bite was fire, and I'd definitely order it again if I'm in the area. If you're nearby, I highly recommend checking this place out--it's worth a visit!

Yelp
Fantastic burgers. Definitely hit the spot for what I was looking for in terms of smash burgers. Where this place falls flat is in their service. Most of the workers there don't look like they want to be there nor do they care to be bothered by your business. My other issue is this place is not kid friendly. The music is blasting and every other verse is an f bomb,

Yelp
I didn't like this place and felt very uncomfortable. Stopped by on Friday night and it was so packed. The music was playing very loudly and it was hard to even order our food. Finding a table was also hard and we had to wait for people to leave to get a spot. A lot of the people that were sitting didn't even have food, they were just hanging out. The burgers were not all that. The meat was smashed down to basically nothing and our waffle fries were cold. Someone was smoking nearby causing the area to smell like marijuana. The music was way too loud - this should be a club instead.

Yelp
This place was weird and definitely not my vibe. My sister and I stopped by on Friday after a Sun's game (around 10pm). There was a gaggle of people standing outside which made us think that was the line to get in. We asked and they said no. We walked inside and there was another gaggle of people just standing in front of the registers. We had no idea who was in line, who was waiting, and or what was going on. The music was BLARING LOUDLY. It was overwhelming and we felt SO awkward not knowing who was going to order next as we all just looked at each other. I made eye contact with the cashier and she gave me a slight smile. I figured that was my queue to approach her so I did. I had no idea what she was asking me as the music was LOUDDDDDDDD so I just nodded my head and screamed her our order.... We ordered: One burger with everything One plain cheeseburger One order of fries One fountain drink TOTAL: $40 Walking to the soda machine was another challenge. People were in the way dancing, eating, and not moving in this tight ol space. Screaming out excuse me did not work so tapping them was the trick... I'm wanting to believe that they also could not hear thanks to the music. The big table by the soda machine had a birthday cake on it so I think there was a birthday party going on? IDK WEIRD. My sister then filled up our cup and then some guy elbowed her and she spilled soda on her shoes. He did say sorry but that's just how uncomfortably tight this space was... We found a spot in the corner right as a couple left. We sat down and the same friendly cashier who took our order brought us our food. We then began eating. The burgers basically felt like they had no meat. The meat is smashed down to like a paper thin consistency... They were flavorful but I've come to realize that smash burgers are not my thing. The fries were very cold, but seasoned well. We were halfway through our burgers when someone decided to smoke inside. I cant stand the smell of weed while im eating so I ended up throwing away the rest of my burger as my stomach began to hurt. This place definitely has more of a club vibe then that of a food place and just not it for me. I left wishing I had gone to In N Out instead.

Yelp
It's Always a Great Time and OUTSTANDING Service and Food! The Waffle Fries are a Must with your Smash Burger.

Yelp
What a smash hit of a smashburger. Sauce was great, patties were crispy, cheese was melted but the best part was the bun. It was one solid piece holding this work of art together like a hot dog bun decided to start bulking. It was literally the perfect bun. Texture was great, it was airy. But the absolute best part was how because it was basically a hot dog bun hybrid, nothing was lost. Nothing fell out of the burger and I wasn't left with a greasy mess. ALL of the sauce was contained. What great bun choice. Fries were pretty mid.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while and it did not disappoint! The menu is pretty short and sweet like a traditional burger place, basically a double double with all the toppings, or a plain one. I got the the double double and it was super good! I was nervous at first because that sounds like a lot of food. But the staff was super helpful and explained that they are actual smash burgers. So the meat is super super thin like paper thin. So a double is perfect! And the fries were 10/10! The vibe was giving neighborhood hipster bar it was very chill, no frills! I'll definitely be back, to try the soft serve and a cocktail! Would be a great place to take out of town people for a quick bite!
google avatar

Kyndra K.

Yelp
Really good burgers. I will definitely be coming back if I am in the area! Their not-so-secret sauce reminded me of a spicy canes sauce and it is so good. Fries were great as well. The workers are so kind and there's a little bit of seating inside and a good amount on their enclosed patio.

Yelp
Good vibes & quality burgers! Whenever I go to LA I love to get a colossal burger. This definitely made me feel like I was in Cali ! The music and decor is very chill old school Cali diner vibes! It was so cute. The LA burger did NOT skimp on the pastrami and the meat was very good quality. The waffle fries were well seasoned and fried to perfection. The service was amazing and the food came out so fast!

Yelp
I have heard that Bad Jimmy's makes some of the best burgers in Phoenix and stopped in to try them this past weekend. The restaurant has a very unique vibe. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you but there is also a full bar inside of the restaurant which is a great area to hangout with friends, eat, and listen to music! They do have some outdoor seating as well. The burger was delicious and had super crisp edges to it but held a ton of flavor. They had a great house sauce on the burger paired with onions and lettuce that tied the burger together well. The fries were crispy and to die for, if you're a ranch lover you MUST get the house ranch. One of the better ranch's I've had.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
I've never had a smash burger before and it was bomb. I saw this place on TikTok and thought to give it a try. I love that the menu is simple and it reminds me of an old school diner. We had the classic double burger with cheese and fries. The patty was so crispy but not too heavy or light. Paired with the bread and cheese it was mouthwatering. The service was great and is a great day or night spot for a casual meal.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Good...but not good enough that I would go out of my way, on a long drive from Mesa to Phoenix to have a burger here. The menu had less variety than expected, so I stuck with a double burger and fries. Both were tasty! The double burger tasted like a typical smash burger and the fries were average, well alittle above average because they were seasoned well. I didn't try any drinks but the bar area was cute.
google avatar

Taric W.

Yelp
I will only ever refer to this place as Mid Jimmy's. If you're a real burger snob (I am not proud of it, but you're reading this so you are too) you'd think a place with an incredibly brief menu that really focuses on just one thing would be knocking it out of the park. But while I appreciate the quality of the ingredients, like perfect buns, I really thought the execution was just OK. I don't like the sauce. The patties are made with decent stuff, but they're deliberately too thick, which makes them hard to cook all the way through or give the savory, crispy edges a real smashburger should have. The seasoned waffle fries are perfect. Counter seating is awkward but you can brave it for a quick dinner. And yeah, I know there are cocktails, but what kind of sicko would get them in a place like this?
google avatar

Amber A.

Yelp
Pretty satisfying. Burger was tasty, ingredients fresh. Wait time was long during peak hours. Price is reasonable for the quality.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
Now that was a delicious hamburger. Double burger was quite tasty. As was the classic. Both would be ordered again. Waffle fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the in. Just wish they had bottles of ketchup. Salad was quite good too. All would be ordered again. Service was fast and friendly. Diner/Instragram vibe at the same time. I would come back for sure.

Yelp
Finally tried this place cuz a friend of ours kept saying how good it was. Definitely, hyped. 6:45pm on a Saturday. Luckily, the line to order was short at the time. Tables were pretty packed though. I saw a few but by the time we finished ordering, people who walked in after us had already grabbed the tables. The bar side had a few open spots at the corner and window so we grabbed those. My friend and I ordered while the other two went to the bar. Small place so tough to find a spot when it's busy. Music was playing. It seems from others reviews that they play different genres from time to time. I liked the music they were playing on this day and didn't mind the loudness at all. Our orders: - Double burger with fries - Double burger + raw onions & red cream soda float Pros: - liked that the patties were smashed and the edges were crispy - soft buns Cons: - Not being told there was an additional $1 charge for onions. The double burger comes with grilled onions but I had asked to add in raw onions as well - the raw onions were never added - only had a few grilled onions in my burger - the Not so Secret Sauce was very little to non-existent. I had to dip my burger in ketchup - patty lacked flavor - a small container of ranch is $2! - red cream float wasn't bad but wasn't worth $8 It was just okayyyyy to me. There just wasn't enough onions and sauce in my burger. My total was a little over $27 with tip. Chose the wrong tip option but it was still overpriced. And paid for extra stuff for nothing.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
Hands down the best burger you can get in AZ. I got the Double Burger with Bacon and a side of their fries. The burger is exactly what I want every burger to taste like. It was tasty, juicy, cheesy, and well perfect! I usually don't like bacon on my burgers, but this was the perfect addition. The bacon was crispy, didn't take away from the burger at all, and was not too salty! The fries are waffle cut, but taste like curly fries!! So delicious dipped in their "not so secret sauce". I'm seriously still thinking about this burger and I can't wait to go back! The total for the 2 burgers (both with bacon) and a side of fries was around $40, so kind of expensive. However, 100% worth it to me.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best smashburgers I've ever had. I ordered the double burger because of the not-so-secret sauce, it came out fast, was a bit greasy, and the edges were extra crispy - perfection. My friend had the LA burg and said it was super good, he tore it up fast. I went with a group of 8 on a Monday night and not even 10 mins after we got in the door there was a growing line. This place isn't very big but there's lots of cool neon lights and it gives off a "this is the place to be" vibe. The runners did an excellent job bringing food out. Definitely gonna visit again sometime!
google avatar

Emma N.

Yelp
This food was incredible! So simple but soo good! I got the classic burger, or maybe it was the double. But it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The staff were nice and the decor was old school diner themed. The bar area looked really cool, but I didn't have time for drinks.
google avatar

Sophie K.

Yelp
Finally got to try the famous Bad Jimmy's! I liked how retro and cool they are, lightings and stuff, it was so cool. There weren't many places to sit inside, but there were seatings outside! Ordered double burger with fries, it was good. Patty was so flat and fresh, it was well seasoned and yummy. And the waffle fries were good as well. It was interesting and different, yet yummy :)
google avatar

Benjamin F.

Yelp
Saw a TikTok about this place and have really been craving a smash-burger. I walked in and it definitely had a cool ambiance with an old diner / burger shop vibe. The menu is basic and the food is fresh! The burger had caramelized onions and I ordered some diced peppers in there! The fries were super fresh and crunchy! The patties are super thin, as a smash burger should be with nice crunchy sides. The staff was friendly and welcoming giving us a run down of the menu! Will definitely recommend!

Fat Man Reviews K.

Yelp
The Fat Man and his wife traveled west to Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun. While there, we hit a burger joint called Bad Jimmy's. Bad Jimmy's is a casual restaurant serving cheeseburgers and other comfort foods paired with beer, natural wine, and cocktails. We both had the Classic Double; I added bacon and an order of fries. The burger was a Double Patty of K4 Ranch premium Arizona beef, American Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard, Diced Onion, and Pickles on Martin's Potato Bun. The burger had a good smash and crust while also being juicy. The bacon was crispy and salty and offered a good chew. The bun was soft and fresh; the veggies offered texture while the mustard hit the back of your mouth and cut through the saltiness of the creamy, gooey American cheese. When you ask for a smash burger, this is what it is supposed to be. They serve Waffle Fries. They were cooked perfectly with good seasoning on all of the fries. They had a great crunch on the outside with a soft chew on the inside. Jimmy's gives you a pretty big order of fries with your order as well. Jimmy's has a small menu, offering only six burgers, four sides, and soft-serve ice cream. They have a full bar and canned beer, plus soft drinks. The staff was genuinely friendly, and the food came up quickly. They have two locations in Phoenix. The Fat Man says that Bad Jimmy's is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Yelp
First time at Bad Jimmy's. We arrived at 12:15 on a Friday afternoon and it was full, so we ponied up with the manager who was on a break. I ordered a Double Burger, fries and a soft drink for $21.85 and my son-in-law got the same. The burgers ran about $12, but the fries were overpriced at $5. Our meals arrived in about 10 mins, despite many tables seated right before our arrival. They smash the patties as they cook, giving them a great crust. Topped with gooey American cheese, savory grilled onions and creamy thousand island dressing on a pillowy potato bun, each bite was a perfect blend of soft, crunchy, savory, salty, sweet and gooey richness. The potatoes were cross-cut and cooked to a yummy crispiness but many were clumped together in both orders, making them not as attractive. The flavor of our meals was excellent, despite the spud-fest going on. I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The best burger spot in Phoenix! Not to mention the customer service here is always up to par they definitely treat you well and always take care of you. Plus the best photo op is inside the restaurant! Love Bad jimmy's!

Yelp
Thanks to Bad Jimmy's for giving out free burgers on Mother's Day! We stopped by for the first time and looking forward to coming back. The double burger was delicious, flavorful, juicy; hands down one of the best I've had. The onions were sautéed and sweet and the bun had a nice crunch to it from being toasted. The fries were awesome, asked for extra crispy and they fully delivered. Downsides: Music is wayyyy too loud inside. We came with our baby and we couldn't even sit inside so we had to sit outside in the heat. It was over 95 degrees with no umbrellas for shade- super uncomfortable. We would literally have to order to go next time because it's not a baby friendly environment. Otherwise there should be some shade offered in the back so people are able to sit down. Multiple people came into the back and after they saw every seat sitting right in the sun, they walked back in. We also had a red soda float, don't remember the exact name but I would skip it. Nothing special for $9. They put the float in a to go soda cup, even if you are staying to eat. Very cheap presentation for a $9 drink. A fountain soda is $3, so you are paying $6 for a scoop of ice cream... next!

Yelp
Probably my favorite burger in phoenix. I used to think bad jimmy's was overrated but I'm a convert now--I love everything they do. The burgers are very thin and griddled with a delicious crust. You can add bacon for extra if you like. There are two styles (in n out style with special sauce or mustard and ketchup). Fries are waffle with some kind of delicious seasoning. The bar is totally optional but their drinks are really tasty, best I've had so far is probably the sexyy red. Service is always nice and fast. I expected hipster-ass bullshit and the music is always loud but no one ever has ever made me feel unwelcome. In fact, they've been super accommodating.

Yelp
Love love love Bad Jimmy's. Perfect late night burger spot on Roosevelt row that has ALL the flavor. If smash burgers are your vibe you NEED to check them out. We went on a busy Friday night before a show and the line wasn't awful, nor the wait for the food. The menu is simplistic but ADD chilis for a little kick The double double is preferable. Two juicy smash burger with American cheese, grilled onion, pickle and a delicious tangy, creamy sauce. The edges of the burger are crispy and so inviting. I had the lil Jon because I didn't want a huge commitment and it was equally good, but the second patty really ups the juiciness factor. Can we all agree waffle fries are superior? They know what they are doing here because these fries are gas. They have those little crunchies on the outside that keep you coming back for more. So good! Price wise it can be a little steep, but I think it's worth it. Again, you get what you pay for. We had 3 burgers, 2 fries, and one soft drink and spent 50$. The inside of this place is so cute too and they have a full bar. Great place to start or stop when hitting Roosevelt row.

Yelp
I had the best burger I've ever had at Bad Jimmy's. WOW. Everything was perfect. I ordered their double burger and added bacon. The soft potato bun that isn't fully cut was amazing. I love the fact that the bun isn't cut all the way through so your burger isn't sliding around. The fries were some of the best I've ever had. Their special sauce added the perfect touch to the burger and fries. I love that they have a puppy patty on their menu. My baby loved the puppy patty. I will be recommending Bad Jimmy's to everyone!
google avatar

Brisa M.

Yelp
Bad Jimmy's is my favorite burger spot in the downtown area. The quality of food and service is consistent and I haven't found a smash burger spot that compares. A double burger (add bacon) finished with some of their amazing vanilla custard - add olive oil and sea salt - is the go-to. Don't think twice about this spot, you won't regret it! The only downside is that they don't do online orders so we always have to wait for our food and I usually get it to go. Otherwise, I love this spot.
google avatar

Molly W.

Yelp
Simple, great burger. Fries were okay. Ambiance is fun, but it's a small place, tough to get a seat and too hot to be outside in the summer. Will be a better option when the patio is functional, but still a great meal.
google avatar

Joann B.

Yelp
I don't recall having a good smash burger and heard Bad Jimmy's was super popular, so I had to give them a try. The restaurant is small, there's some counter seating, maybe 1 or 2 tables that could seat four people and the rest were small two seater tables. I'm sure you could push the tables together if you have a larger group. There's also a bar to the left. I didn't get to see if they offered any specialty drinks, but there is a bar for adult drinks if you don't want water or fountain soda. I ordered the classic double with no cheese. The burger was pretty plain, as were the criss cut fries. I appreciated the finely diced onions on the burger, but the rest was ok. I'm sure the burger is probably better with cheese, but Bad Jimmy's did not become a favorite of mine.

Liz M.

Yelp
Wow that was delicious! Ordered an old fashioned cocktail and a smash burger. So good. Sat at the bar. Service was good. Cute place. Will return.

Yelp
Smash burgers are the rage now and so we had to try them here. So good! I was really impressed and loved the burger. Also got a plain patty for my dog and she was equally as thrilled. The place is small and we were lucky to snag a seat, but worth the wait. Food came out pretty quickly. Great addition to Phoenix's fabulous food scene.

John F.

Yelp
The food is a hit, 10/10 would recommend. The lackluster "i don't care" hipster service from some of the staff is a definite miss. Do with that what you will.

Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Vibes:10/10 Came here on a Friday afternoon and got a double and a single. Both were sooo good. The flavors were so delicious and the fries were even tasty and crispy. The employee were all super nice and helpful. We sat at the bar and also got shots. The drinks were soo delicious. I've been dying to come back.

Yelp
Don't even know where to begin with this one! Our Bad Jimmy's experience was anything but bad! It was my birthday and I had been hearing buzz about/wanting to go here for a while. I came with 4 friends and had the best time. The service was incredible from the start. Every server felt like we were their friend. So kind and laid back. The food was unreal. Soooooo good. We all got different burgers and fries. The fries were incredible (and obviously so was the burger). Also random but probably the best ranch I've ever had?? We also tried the house made root beer and I've never had anything like it. It was incredible. We ended up staying and hanging out for a while and decided to get the vanilla soft serve with olive oil and salt. My sister said she was so mad because she lives out of town and is going to be constantly thinking about getting that ice cream again and won't be able to. It was SO GOOD. We talked to the chef all about the ingredients he uses and he was just so kind and wonderful to us. We got there around 6:30 and it was already super good vibes. They had fun music playing loudly and their branding and ambiance is 10/10. BAD JIMMY'S was a GOOD NIGHT. Definitely going back.

Yelp
I think this place is pretty okay! I love the decor, I love the ambiance, I love all the attention to detail in design. I'd give the interior and vibes 5 stars if it had its own category. I went here because I saw someone proudly proclaiming this was one of the best burgers in Phoenix. It's... good, pretty okay to me. I just can't justify paying almost 20 dollars for a burger, fries, and no drink. I will say, the fries SLAPPED. Yum. If you've got the cash for it and the want for it, then sure! This is definitely more of a place to hang out with your bros and catch up with burgers and drinks. Maybe not for the individual experience of finding the best burger in Phoenix.

Yelp
Honestly best smash burger I've ever had. Friend forced me to try this hidden little spot that you'd miss if you walked by. Inside is super old school with a fun bar. Seating is pretty tight inside but that have a back patio. I had the double burger and the salad. It was awesome. Great sauce, good patty, just a good burger. Salad is heavy on the sauce and cheese but somehow it just works given you're at an old diner style burger joint. Service is not the quickest but all super nice. Definitely will go again

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint! Definitely the best burger I've had in Phoenix so far. The crust they develop is truly next level. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
A friend told us to check out Bad Jimmy's for the best smash burgers and we were not disappointed. You order at the counter and then find a table. Seating is a little limited, but they do have tables outside as well. We were able to grab a table and got our food pretty fast. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and lively. We did notice the line getting pretty long just after 7:45pm. The food arrived and we happily took our first bites. The burgers were so tender and delicious! These burgers are definitely on our list as some of the best we've had in Phoenix. The fries were yummy as well! They had a good amount of seasoning. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Hands down one of the top burger spots in all of Phoenix! Handmade smash burgers made to order with a side of waffle fries - absolutely delicious! Restaurant is small and intimate and can get crowded pretty quick. This picture of food cost $34 dollars and although it was great, a bit pricey in my opinion, but hey Definitely a nice place for a first date if you happen to be in that area of downtown.

Yelp
Rolled through Bad Jimmys late on a Monday night. You'd never know it was a Monday inside. 90s hip hop, pink neon lights, a true retro feel. The place was popping. I ordered the slim. Nothing fancy, but deliciousness doesn't always need to be fancy. The burger was smashed, pressed, and crispy. It was awesome. Thought about getting soft serve ice cream- will definitely next time. The vibe inside is unique. Local legend chef Rene of Bacanora was chillin there. Jimmy was super cool, chatted with us for a bit and was so appreciate of the support. Lots to love about Bad Jimmyz. An easy 5 star review.

Yelp
Oh how I love a great burger! Bad Jimmy's has a great vibe. Kind of old-school Happy Days feeling. Sat at the bar, we ordered double burger, fries, and a cocktail. The burger was amazing. I have never had a smashed burger that was so tasty and crispy. Both my husband and I have been thinking about this burger since we left bad Jimmy's a few weeks ago. The cocktail menu definitely needs to be worked on maybe add some basic drinks. The fries were super good as well as great service. See you soon Bad Jimmy's!

Yelp
The food was bomb, the staff were friendly, the vibes were chill with the 2000's hip hop music playing. Will def be back!

Yelp
Best burger spot in Phoenix hands down. Amazing vibe, good music and even better food. Would be cute for a date night or even hang out with friends. Will be back to sit at the bar and try some cocktails!

Yelp
This spot is such a gem. Cool, relaxed interior that gives futuristic old school diner vibes. I had the special which was a hatch chile burger that was absolutely delicious. Fries were seasoned to perfection and perfectly delicious. A little pricey for a smash burger which is why I did 4 instead of 5 stars but you can always expect that in downtown Phoenix. Service was quick and polite. I'll be back :)

Yelp
So happy to see another local restaurant open up a brick-and-mortar right in DTPHX! We went in and each ordered a burger, I got the double burger and my partner got the veggie (Where's the beef?) burger. We got an order of fries and the wedge salad for the sides to share. My burger was delicious, but my partner mentioned how their veggie burger left some to be desired. The fries were great and the wedge salad was something I could 100% see myself coming back and ordering with just fries and living a great life. The restaurant itself it a really fun concept - bar meets diner vibes. Everyone is laid back and wants to make sure you get great food and great service. I'll definitely be coming back as they continue to shake off their new restaurant nerves.

Yelp
Bad Jimmy's is convenient and fast place to get your burger fix. Burgers were moist and flavorful. It hits the spot. The cross cut fries were really yummy! Nice and crunchy and soft. The employees were very friendly. Highly recommend!!
