Badmaash blends vibrant Indian flavors with playful twists in a lively gastropub vibe—think chicken tikka poutine and chili cheese naan in a hip setting.
"Badmaash is one of the most popular Indian restaurants in LA and it’s easy to see why - the food is fantastic. With a menu that features dishes like chicken tikka poutine, chili cheese naan, and masala potato fries, this isn’t traditional Indian food by any means, but it’s also pretty different than anything else you can get around town. The Fairfax dining room is fun, casual, and a great spot for a last-minute dinner that has the potential to get rowdy." - brant cox, sylvio martins
"Guest: Joel Kim Booster “I've been looking for a place that serves really great Indian food. I think with Badmaash, I found my place. It was so delicious. It felt very punk rock. There are spins on things that are extremely interesting. They lead with heat. Joel wanted to try the ghost pepper vindaloo. Vindaloo is my favorite dish to get in an Indian restaurant, and it always makes me sweat so much. This was no exception. They cook it down enough that the heat is there, but it doesn't hit you in the face like a ghost pepper would. It's a simmering heat. When I think of ghost peppers, I think about those challenges that people do when they're, you know, snorting them up their nose and then vomiting later. That's where my mind goes. This was done with a lot of finesse.”" - brennan carley
"Badmaash is LA’s original Indian gastropub, a place best known for more-is-more fusion dishes like chicken tikka poutine and chili cheese naan. There’s two locations—one in DTLA and the other on Fairfax—where you can have a fun group dinner and fill up on some of the most unique Indian food you can get around town. Don’t skip the Punjabi fish fry coated in dried mango dust, or the ghost chili lamb vindaloo that's been braised in a spicy curry. Although this place is popular, you can still casually walk right in on a weeknight and be seated without much of a wait." - nikko duren, brant cox
"Name a hot restaurant and I bet they’ve done a collab: Funke and Badmaash." - Jaya Saxena
"At Badmaash, brothers Nakul and Arjun Mahendro tap into their father Pawan’s recipes to showcase dishes from his home state of Punjab, India, as well as other regional specialties including sweet and sour Goan pork curry, Madras-style coconut curry clams, and dahi poori stuffed with chickpeas, mint, and tamarind. There are also plenty of modern, playful takes like chicken tikka poutine, which recalls the Mahendros' Toronto upbringing and a wicked selection of natural wines and sake that play well with the Indian fare.." - Hugh Garvey, Celeste Moure, Krista Simmons
