Maybe I am being a super steakhouse snob after traveling and living in cities like Boston, Chicago, Miami, Brooklyn, New York, Manhattan, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Detroit, and LA, but I think this place is mad mad mad overrated... And way way way over priced for something that I could make just as well at home (although I'm a Great Cook!) I have been here for happy hour and also for dinner. I can see what they are trying to do and being innovated and different however, the execution of the dishes lack so much. For example, the Caesar Royale, while it has ingredients and the flavors that necessitate a great salad, it is impossible and stupid to eat. Also, it is a small portion. One Romain lettuce leaf with parmesan cheese and the other fixings that make it a "caesar salad"... I spent more time trying to cut it to eat it than enjoying it. For $14. And once I actually had a few bites after wrestling the ingredients on the plate? Disappointing especially for the price. Also, why is bread $14 with butter?
The steaks yes, are good quality and decent. However, you can get just as great of steaks at Pittsburgh blue or another steakhouse, even outback steakhouse. Yes, I said it. Outback steakhouse. Although, you will pay at least three times the price here. And why? For the name? I do not know why.
One of the times that I came here, I got the cheapest steak entrée, the chimichurri hanger steak for $38. It came on the baguette with the sauce, a.k.a. chimichurri, which was not plentiful, and instead just soaked into the bread, so it did not accompany the flavor of the steak, which would have been refreshing with a chimichurri sauce. Instead, I was left with grilled piece of hanger steak and a piece of bread coated (because the sauce was not plentiful enough to be soaked or even decently saturated in the bread) with chimichurri sauce. Again, I could make such a dish 1 million times better at home for a fifth of the price.
Just... Buy the ingredients for a third of the price and make them at home which will probably be just as great, or even better, or go to another restaurant that is a steakhouse, even the supposedly pricey places in downtown Minneapolis, which actually execute great stakes with accoutrements that make the price worthwhile. This place is a freaking joke.
Actually, I originally rated this restaurant three stars, however, after reflecting, and writing the review, I demoted the ranking to two stars.
And I am sorry, but the "wagyu" burger, supposedly wagyu (改良和牛, kairyō wagyū), with four patties for $28? Stupid. I promise you that it is not real wagyu, as wagyu comes from a very specific region in Japan and the cows are massaged.
Just... Save yourself, the headache, and go somewhere where the money actually reflects the quality and quantity of the food. This place is kind of like that knock off 20th rated product that is trying to present itself as the top of the line... it is not.
