The mushroom ravioli was amazing! The spinach artichoke dip was very different. It was almost like Alfredo sauce with a few pieces of spinach and fewer artichokes. The bread that came with it wasn’t even toasted. Overall I would go back I just would not order the dip at all. My husband got the Greek pasta not a lot of feta and flavor was very mild.

The new building is great. Artwork inside is good too. Food is fantastic like it has always been. The prices may make it the best value in town. Great restaurant!

Everything was great other then 3 things. 1. My fettuccine was very bland. Like it was hot at least. But I had to season it with my own salt and pepper. 2. My best friend's salad wasn't chopped up very good. Mine was perfect but there's was not cut up very well and they still had like big pieces of lettuce in it. And 3. I don't know if it's something that's not done/practiced by the restaurant but every other one I've been to they at least have the bread warmed up. The bread was like just cold bread. But other then that everything was good. Just wish my pasta had more flavor. My best friend's salad better chopped up and maybe have the bread be warmer if that's a thing that you y'all do? I have no idea?

We visit here very often, it was a great experience! Also, it was a huge staffing improvement compared to before the remodel/reopening! Our server was the best we’ve ever had at Bambino’s (name in attached photo of bill)! Great job!

My boyfriend and I have eaten at the one on Battlefield before and saw that this one was open, so we decided to try it. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Had local craft beer, and it was only around $5 a pint, which is very reasonable. And it's closer to our house and to church, so it makes for a great after church lunch spot for us! Will definitely eat here again!

Google
What a cozy little place, just off the beaten path. As some other reviewers have stated, parking is a little bit of a struggle and during peak hours the wait is slightly long. Otherwise, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and above expectations as far as flavor! Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a unique experience and great Italian food.

Went out for dinner with my husband for my 30th birthday, we were really curious to try an Italian restaurant, since i am italian, the waitress that served us and another that helped us later on, were extremely nice and friendly and so helpful, we did have to call them most times, but it was pretty busy so that's understandable. We got bruschetta as an appetizer, and it was not really what i was expecting, usually that is one of my favorite things to eat, especially in summer, the bread was nice and toasted and garlicky, but the tomatoes were what they should've been? You do not get actual chopped up tomatoes, you get a can of pealed tomatoes with some oregano thrown in there, which was just not it. The pasta is pre-cooked which for me is a no, cause i hate overcooked pasta, overall the taste was fine, but my first plate of pasta had a lovely fly inside, which can happen, the place had many inside, and the waitress we called to get me a new plate, was so nice and so mortified, she took my dish out of the bill, which was really appreciated, i can tell you that the tiramisú was absolutely delicious, not my preference on some things, but those are absolutely personal, the overall taste was almost perfection.

Google
Limited parking, but I look past that because the building is small. Only 1 boy and 1 girl bathroom. (The bathroom was nice) very clean place. Servers were very nice, friendly, and helpful. Found this place while on vacation. Food was fantastic. I loved it. If I lived close I would come here quite often!

Yelp
I was very excited to dine here. Went to the location off Battlefield. I was told the bread was great. It was cold, hard ( not Italian at all) the appetizer we ordered was the artichoke and spinach and it was soupy, the main course that I ordered was fried ravioli, it was greasy. I had made reservations, not knowing what to expect, and they placed us by the kitchen door, and the restaurant was not busy .. the staff was very young, but very friendly. I was so disappointed as I have relocated back from Dallas and looking for good restaurants. I will try it again as maybe they were having an off night.

Yelp
I love this place. Fun, family-friendly atmosphere, with good and friendly service, in a unique neighborhood-based location. It's a neighborhood favorite. I love the bread they bring out--its a weakness for me, eating too much bread dipped in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan cheese. The pasta meals are delicious, and the salads are excellent. These aren't authentic Michelin-star Italian dishes, mind you--but for what they are, they're five-star. This is the kind of place you can take the kids and enjoy any night for dinner. I can't wait for the main location's grand re-opening after the remodel is complete--I'll be walking here often with the family.

Yelp
Food Service Ambiance Happy plates for hubs and I. This is our second time to plan a trip around delicious Springfield eats. Bambinos is always fantastic-food, service-ALL of the things. See ya next time, deliciousness!

Yelp
Service and Experience; I've been to Bambino's a few times and had excellent food and coffee. Everyone was very nice. Great presentation.i hope I can go back there soon.

Yelp
We were the last people seated in one of the rooms and were given the table right outside the bathroom and kitchen. We asked if there was a table in the other room available but not sure if the host ever checked. I would recommend eating by the bar or waiting for another table. We were really hungry tho so we stayed there. Things started out great with fresh bread and oil, vinegar, butter and fresh garlic. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered the pasta of the day which was onions and peppers with chicken, tomatoes and gluten free noodles. We both had the dinner salads which were very fresh and the balsamic vinegar was amazing. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious and a nice portion. My dish was flavorless. I usually love pasta dishes but it was plain and there was hardly any chicken in it, and the chicken was also flavorless. It was mostly noodles. I tried to pick out the chicken, and than ordered a meatball, but left most of the dish on the plate. We ordered some Tiramisu which was very good. Because my dish was one of the worst Italian dishes I have ever had, I can't give more than a 3. Prices are very reasonable, many entrees are only $12 and I was able to fry a glass of Chianti for $6.

Yelp
You can't beat this café for its ambience... If you're a long time in Springfield, resident, you know that it originally was the second location McSalty's Pizza. But I wanted to say something positive about their house salad. I have had it many times and it never disappoints. Fresh ingredients are the key especially the delicious peppercini peppers. And I've never had poor service there. The serving staff always bends over backwards to help accommodate their clientele. This restaurant is one of Springfield's best.

Yelp
In a neighborhood so it kinda reminded me of The Hill in St. Louis the way it was among 1920-30s houses. The food was incredible! Wish I had taken pictures but you can find plenty on Yelp. I seriously couldn't stop thinking about how good the food was several days after eating here. My husband had the Maria (meatballs with angel hair spaghetti); sauce was bright, not too sweet, a nice bite, noodles al dente, meatballs large and tender. I had the Ziti; traditional baked ziti filled with nice tender chunks pot roast in a creamy red wine tomato sauce. The roast beef was so tender. The meal came with bread. We both had the house salad. SO MUCH FOOD! I can eat a lot but we ended up taking it home and split into two more meals! The ziti reheated well in the oven. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being too much. I love this location! The ambiance of being in this old established neighborhood, the rooms have hard wood floor. It feels homey. One of the rooms opens up to outside There's outdoor seating as well. This place will be a regular!

Yelp
What a find! Recommended by a co-worker. Incredible selections of fresh pasta bursting with flavors and healthy portions. The bread was fresh and an excellent selection of beers and wines as well. Service was warm and friendly. Atmosphere was nice and homey. I will definitely be back when I'm in town and hopefully will take some to go to share with the family in Cali!!!

Yelp
Great service & really good food! Lovely little restaurant, little house in a quiet neighborhood, in addition to a patio eating area. A must go!

Yelp
I have family that live out if town. When they visit, they always want to go to Bambino's. Very accommodating to dietary needs too! Both locations have great but different vibes. I prefer the Lone Pine, my daughter likes the location off National. Food is great at both!

Yelp
If you've never had their portobello ravioli you are missing a truly great meal. Good option as well for vegetarians and vegans.

Yelp
Restaurant is situated in a cute neighborhood as if it's been there for 70 years! Three adults for Friday dinner- no wait... yeah!! Wait staff super friendly. Food timely arrival to table. I ordered The Poppa........ it lacked Italian sausage and mushrooms. LOTS of pasta and sauce but where was the sausage and mushrooms? The few itty bitty pieces of sausage & mushroom constitutes false advertising. Flavor of sauce was excellent. Wouldn't order Poppa again but willing to give Bambino's another try when I'm back in town and I can see the ingredients Spaghetti was a healthy portion. House salad was good. My mom had a Mediterranean pasta dish which she enjoyed.
google avatar

Shannah H.

Yelp
Pretty nice neighborhood Italian fare. The fried ravioli were terrific!! I also enjoyed my Greek pasta, though it would have been better with rough chopped kalamata olives rather than whole. It's great to have the option to order lunch size portions at dinner, because the dinner size is quite large - perfect if you want leftovers. Parking is a huge challenge, so plan to eat early to grab one of the few street spots.

Sheri P.

Yelp
This is by far some of the best Italian food I've ever had! Service was excellent. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend the Nonna and the Spinach Asparagus dip. There was enough food for three meals!

Yelp
I thought Google maps was taking me in the wrong direction when it turned me into a dimly lit residential neighborhood at night but sure enough it led me to the correct place, which was just before the street dead ended in the same residential neighborhood. I furtively picked up my to go order which was handed to me out of the window on the side of a converted house, placed high up so you couldn't see into the building beyond the copper tiled ceiling above the lady inside who disappeared with may credit card. Feeling like a spy who had just been passed a coded message I scurried back to my vehicle with my precious cargo of The Papa, tiramisu and chicken Alfredo. I then had to sit and wait for what seemed like forever as this young girl did a 200 point turn to back out of her parking space to drive off. It was painful to witness, and I probably would have been irritated with her but after awhile I became emotionally invested with her struggle and just had to know how it would turn out. Would she make it? Would she quit and take the bus? We just had to know. Finally safe back inside my own private hideaway we tucked into our first bites of Bambinos food. Zap! Pow! Bang! Right on the kisser! I have had a lot of great Italian food in a lot of places that weren't Springfield, and let me tell you this ain't your Moma's Italian Garden baby. The flavors just overwhelmed the senses, and there was no doubt that the Alfredo sauce was homemade. Sauce that good just doesn't come out of a jar. The tiramisu was of so soft and sweet, and you could tell the lady fingers were well dipped in liqueur. I must stop my review now before I short out my computer while drooling over the memories, but you can bet that this is my hot spot Italian go to place in Springfield from now on.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in the door you know you made the right decision. The service was great acknowledged me as soon as I walked in. my soda never got less then half full. The food was delicious I had the Greek. The bread was perfect with the fresh garlic I recommend this place 100 percent I will definitely come back

Yelp
When you talk about Italian food in Springfield, there are some great places. However, while the others may have fancy restaurants and high quality food, nothing gets in the way of Bambino's wonderfully small size, warm, friendly staff, and a feeling of being hugged when you get your favorite meal. It has beautiful salads and superb pasta dishes. The free garlic bread is almost always great (I've had a single time where it seemed to be a little dry). This is a fantastic restaurant that should be on your list of places to eat.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Bambino's is a small cottage restaurant in a residential area just off the southeast corner of MSU. You'll want to seek it out for its fine Italian menu. For dinner you'll have a variety of standard Italian items, apps, and 10" pizzas to choose from. I chose the Pasta Diana--fettuccine in a thick Alfredo sauce with mushrooms and shrimp. Though the shrimp were abundant the mushrooms were harder to find. Bread is served alongside with minced raw garlic to create your own dipping sauce with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. Arrive early: there are only a few parking spaces next to the restaurant aside from some open spots on the street.

Yelp
The best pizza I've had in Springfield, and the best spinach artichoke dip I've had, maybe, ever. Not sure how this little place escaped my attention before now, but all's well that ends well, and we know about it now! The crusts are ideally thin and crispy. The gluten free cauliflower crust is the best we've had at a restaurant. Unlike many (most?) gluten free crusts, you could eat this by accident and not know. We ordered three personal pizza: - Olive & Onion, - Mushroom, Onion, & Artichoke Hearts, and - Gluten Free Pepperoni We also added an antipasto salad and spinach and artichoke dip. Everything was delicious, without reservation. Plenty of toppings, and everything was delivered hot. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Yelp
This place was a very pleasant surprise. Came here for my daughter's birthday dinner in early December; at her request. So happy that we obliged that request. We found a gem! The atmosphere was so comfortable. The food was great, the service was very attentive. Fast forward 4 weeks. We went back this last Saturday night, and I'm very pleased to say that the experience was a duplicate of the first. The Toasted Ravioli and the Cheesy bread were fantastic appetizers. We had the Momma, the Poppa, the ziti, and the house salad. Salad had a muted, but very tasty vinaigrette and super-fresh greens. The dishes were piping hot, and loaded with quality flavor. The pastas were perfectly cooked. Our server's name was Emma. She was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The service and atmosphere were once again outstanding. Go early and avoid the waits that others have described. We got right in at 5:30pm on a Saturday. We cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Great service and great food! I sometimes just grab carry out, but have dined in with friends several times. Love the free bread before your dish comes out.

Yelp
Love Bambino's! I used to order from the university. I have introduced several people to the wonderful meals at Bambinos!

Yelp
Dang. Long wait but totally worth it. Didn't think we would need a reservation on a Tuesday night, wrong. Service, food, and drinks were awesome. Right-sized portions.

Yelp
Visited 1/16/23. Delicious, comforting, fresh and homemade-tasting food in a cozy atmosphere. The service was great and with just the right amount of attentiveness- not ignoring us and not pestering us. The ziti is amazing! Definitely my new favorite restaurant in Springfield. Come early as parking is very limited. This quaint little gem is located in a residential area within walking distance of SWMU.

Yelp
A little neighborhood Italian cafe Was fantastic! Actually in a neighborhood off of any major arteries. Pleasant and friendly staff.

Yelp
The place is fantastic ALL dishes are served with huge portions it's simply a can't miss... super fresh change from the fast food at the same price!!!

Yelp
We Enjoyed Our Dinner We usually stop and eat dinner here when passing through. Located in a neighborhood residential area and most definitely off the beaten path. A very small Italian style place with locals and university students. Atmosphere is definitely casual and at first look a dump. There is a small outside patio. But place was clean and service friendly. In fact our waitress Morgan was extra helpful. Menu items were mostly pasta and pizza. I had the Dianne creamy Pasta with Broccoli and Shrimp, My Spouse had the Greek Pasta. We got the small portions and still had plenty to eat. Food was delicious. When busy parking could be a problem as on street parking is for resident with permits. There is a small parking lot on the side and in back.
google avatar

Yelp
The Greek pasta is fresh and taste great. Service was friendly and prompt. No wait at 11:15 am on a Saturday. We got our food in under 10 minutes. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Fantastic experience here for a late lunch this past Saturday. We tried the spinach artichoke dip, which is creamy and heavenly with fresh spinach. I ordered The "Fredo" which has to be the BEST fettuccine Alfredo I have ever had. Great service and very relaxing ambience. Will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu!!

Yelp
If ever you are visiting Springfield, MO or passing through be sure to make a stop at this hidden gem of a restaurant. Tucked away in between al brick bungalow homes within walking distance of campus, Bambino's, a tiny, family owned restaurant was introduced to me by a dear friend in college (2005) that knows his way around the kitchen & since then has become that a venue I be sure to support each time I'm in town. Morgan was a very attentive, explanatory, & good server. You would love it too.

Yelp
While on my baby's 4 year old birthday getaway to Springfield, we asked the front desk agent for restaurant ideas. She gave us a literal sheet of paper with restaurants. But this one wasn't on it. She told us about it, on the side. IN SECRECY. Lol I'm jk. But the Food was pretty good! The restaurant itself had an odor that was unpleasant, and where we sat, in a back patio lounge type area, was a lil... Blah. While we were being Sat, an employee setting up for a large party kinda (rudely) insinuated that if we sat back there, a large party was coming in and they might be lots of noise. She clearly had not met my babies.... BUT I DIGRESS. The spinach artichoke dip as an app, was kinda like a cheese soup with some spinach thrown in. It wasn't bad at all, just different from what I'm used too. I ordered the Greek pasta. Sooooo good. Basic, but delish. Penne, chicken, olives, artichoke, etc. I asked for onion to be added and drew asked for tomato to be removed from his panini, but both requests were ignored. *eye roll* but Drew told me to ignore it, so I did.... Drew's sandwich came with some chips that seemed homemade. They were good. My babies just ate off of us and enjoyed a for bowl as well. Our server was a nice young lady too.

Yelp
One of the best little bistros in town. Absolutely phenomenal food. My family eats here about once or twice a week. Amazing service and even better ambiance. The whole place is chill and great to spend a couple hours catching up with friends. 10/10 would recommend.

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
Always amazing food and service! Can't go wrong choosing this place! Fresh, hot and friendly!

Yelp
I had a hankering for a Greek salad and they delivered. I also got bread with it and it was so yummy! Would totally go back just to try their food.

Yelp
I have eaten at Bambino's several times over the past few years-- even driving an hour just to dine at this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. The food is amazing. My workplace recently had pasta and salad catered in, and I automatically knew it must have been Bambino's because the flavor and quality is unlike any other Italian restaurant I have tried in Springfield. The baked ziti has a rich marinara sauce and high quality meat (red wine braised beef)-- this is my favorite dish that I have tried at Bambino's. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a meal out or for catering-- the flavor and quality will not disappoint!
google avatar

Cat B.

Yelp
I always have a hard time choosing when I order at bambino's. There are SO MANY fantastic meals! Do I get the poppa? The Gorgonzola tortellini? The portobello ravioli? The ziti?? But always start with the bruschetta and Greek salad. Both are so fresh and flavorful, you could do that combo as a meal. But you would be really missing out on the pasta. Springfield is actually blessed with several tasty Italian restaurants but this one always holds a special place in my heart. It's also just so dang cute.

Sarah K.

Yelp
I've been to Bambino's on Battlefield and Lone Pine and it was ok. I had heard about people enjoying the one on Delmar so I ventured there on a Saturday mid-afternoon. It is quite quant and I didn't have any trouble getting a table. I ordered the shrimp alfredo (The Diana) lunch portion and the toasted ravioli. They give you a small loaf of bread with a small plate with lots of chopped garlic in the middle. I put some olive oil and parmesan cheese and it was quite tasty (I paid dearly for it later with acid reflux but that's just how it is:)). The pasta and the ravioli were delicious and I had left overs to take home. I will definitely go back. I loved the atmosphere and the relaxed feeling of this quant little place.

Yelp
We stopped in Springfield, MO on our way to Fort Worth, TX. My wife found this place tucked away in a working class neighborhood. Parking lot was full on a Tuesday evening. Good sign. My wife and I split the baked ziti--tender beef marinated in marinara sauce, cream sauce added, loaded with mozzarella and baked. It was so good! Wife says best baked ziti ever. Desserts are made in house. We carried out chocolate cheesecake and lemon cake. Julian was our very nice server.

Richard J.

Yelp
Good food, disappointing service. Ordered a pickup order (two bowls of soup and a kid's spaghetti) and informed them I was a 25-30 minute drive away; they confirmed the order. I show up and am told they've run out of the soup I ordered and just have one bowl...it's 4 PM. No replacement item, no discount on the ticket for wasting my time with an hour drive, round-trip. The sad part is, they consistently sell out of the item by 4 PM at both locations. I asked why they don't make more, as they consistently sell out early in the day, and was told they just prep one batch in the morning and that I should come at lunch if I want any. The chowder is excellent if you can actually get ahold of it, but the unwillingness to make a second batch of product for dinner combined with the "oh well" attitude was pretty frustrating.
google avatar

Geno P.

Yelp
What an excellent surprise. Came recommended by my wife's friend. Casual, quality Italian. The Portobello Ravioli and gorgonzola tortellini were out of this world good. The bruschetta could not have been better. Cannot wait to return.
google avatar

Patsy H.

Yelp
Were we delighted to discover this Italian restaurant. Soup of the day, summer squash, was warm, well seasoned and tasty. Our server, Andi, was the best; anticipating every request before we asked. House Salads were fresh, leafy, generous. We were served pasta dishes, the Diana and the Fredo perfectly cooked with crispy broccol. Tiramisu was delicious. The coconut was a huge portion of the triple layer cake but it was not fresh and very disappointing. We will be back.
google avatar

Brandon A.

Yelp
That was a completely underwhelming dining experience. On the upside the service was friendly from our server. However, that food was absolutely bland and flavorless. We started with a small plate of roughly chopped garlic with no seasoning to be mixed with olive oil for dipping the flavorless white bread. For dinner I got a dish of linguine with what they called a light Alfredo sauce but actually tasted like a jar of Walmart Alfredo mixed w skim milk. The chicken in the dish had clearly been cooked at least two times before being reheated and tossed with my noodles. The fried ravioli tasted like the discount generic freezer appetizer from the grocery.
google avatar

Annette F.

Yelp
So, it's been years since I've been back to Bambino's. The first experience was lackluster and I've been meaning to come back and give it another try. So glad we made it in tonight! First, we were told 30 minutes wait. Turned out to only be 15. Lucky us! Second, the service was super friendly. Third the options were abundant and all very appealing. Fourth, they are reasonably accommodating. I wanted to order a traditional vegan dish and asked them to add chicken. This was done without issue. Fifth, the food was fresh, piping hot, and so aromatic. Delicious! Overall, just an amazing place to eat and enjoy the evening. We will be back again!
google avatar

Elyse G.

Yelp
I used to live 3 doors down from Bambino's and ate there 3 times a week! I never was disappointed with anything or anyone! Great food, at great prices! I miss my 3 times a week visit!

Angie G.

Yelp
This location is much quieter than the other one. Same menu and better service at Delmar.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Amazing! You need to go eat here and get the bruschetta appetizer for sure! Everything about here is just phenomenal! Also, a great spot that feels very private and kind of dive'

Yelp
In terms of Italian restaurants this one is good at best. I wouldn't say it is amazing but it is by no means disappointing. For starters they offer bread like most Italian restaurants do and this bread in my opinion was not very good. It tasted very doughy and I wish it was toasted instead of served cold. The pasta I ate was decent and for the price it was a nice portion but I didn't taste any pizzazz which leads me to the conclusion that it was just generic Italian food. The one thing that I found was very delicious was the hummus. It was full of flavor and had an array of pita bread and cucumber to dip. It was a very large portion and was perfect for sharing. This hummus was the saving grace of my meal and the only thing I would ever plan on reordering from this restaurant.
