Where To Get A Park Picnic That Isn't Crisps & Hummus - London - The Infatuation

"The Picnic Pick: Chicken and grilled pork special This small Vietnamese shop near Greenwich train station sells bánh mìs that are worth missing your train for. The egg omelette is a great vegetarian option, but the chicken and grilled pork special is a game-changer, bundled into crispy ciabatta with mounds of pickled veg, fresh coriander, and a thick homemade pork liver pâté. The beef stew bánh mì is another standout." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

The Best Bánh Mì In London, Ranked

"Bread-watch: Traditionalists, shield your eyes and mouths now, because we’ve got a ciabatta on the loose. But, it works. Despite its illustrated baguette logo, what separates Banh Mi Leo from the crowd is its choice of ciabatta. The little cafe next to Greenwich station had a supply problem during the pandemic and has stuck with this Italian-French-Vietnamese hybrid ever since. And it works. The special mixes pork liver pâté with grilled chicken and pork slices and, combined with a healthy squirt of sriracha and a few glugs of Maggi sauce, makes for an enjoyably savoury and juicy bite. The vegetables and herbs could be ramped up and there could be less emphasis on lettuce, but overall it’s an excellently balanced sandwich." - jake missing

The 13 Best Restaurants In Greenwich - London - The Infatuation

"This small shop is one of the only places to eat good food near Greenwich train station, located on a back road near one of the entrances. There’s a decent selection of Vietnamese noodles and rice dishes but the bánh mì are worth missing your train for. The egg omelette is a great vegetarian option, but the chicken and grilled pork special is an absolute game-changer, bundled into crispy ciabatta with mounds of pickled veg, fresh coriander, and thick homemade pork liver pâté. The beef stew bánh mì is another standout, but prepare to make a mess and for the bread to disintegrate if it’s not unwrapped instantly. Some seats are available for dine-in, more ideal for the noodle dishes, but it’s fairly cramped and basic." - Jonathan Hatchman

Where to Eat in Greenwich | The Best Restaurants in Greenwich | Eater London

"Hidden on a side street near Greenwich DLR station, Bánh Mì Leo is a tiny Vietnamese space with just a few seats. The menu is displayed above the small kitchen area where dishes are prepared, including the likes of summer rolls, spring rolls, and rice or noodle bowls. The bánh mì are the jewel in the small menu’s crown, however. Warm ciabatta rolls are complete with fillings such as satay prawn, tofu, or — best of all — a combination of grilled chicken and pork, spread with mayonnaise and pate then stuffed with shredded iceberg lettuce, pickled carrot, daikon, cucumber, and a sprig of coriander. The beef stew bánh mì is also worth ordering if planning to either sit in or eat on the move, made to prevent the bread from disintegrating under the weight of its sauce." - Jonathan Hatchman

This is a small Vietnamese place which sells the famous Vietnamese filled baguette (for anyone expecting a sandwich it's not that kind of bread). They also do rice and noodle bowls. Fillings/toppings include five spice grilled chicken, lemongrass grilled pork and prawn satay. There's vegan options too. We got summer rolls with prawns, prawn satay noodle bowl and special chicken and pork banh mi. The total was £24. They take credit cards, including Amex. You can eat in or takeaway. You can also try their Vietnamese coffee. There are juices and a brown sugar bubble tea on offer too. Amazing every time we order on Deliveroo (since last year). Delicious, reliable, fast, fresh and hot. We love the various rolls, rice bowls, and banh mi. Amazing and simple food in filling portions at affordable prices. There is essential allergen information, too. Today we added on some vegan spring rolls to our lemongrass pork bowls, and they were piping hot, audibly crispy, and succulent. The best fried roll is a freshly fried one. Divine!

A nice stop for lunch, very good value for money. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall, so a very good pitstop, but not the place for a long, sit-down lunch. Service was fantastic too! I had the prawn satay bahn mi and the hot Vietnamese brown coffee for £10. It was lovely and very filling. I also tried the prawn summer roll (there were two), which was nice. The sandwich is definitely enough food for one person though. My friend had the special bahn mi and said it was very good as well. Overall I would recommend the sandwiches, and definitely the coffee as well!

Cute little family run place. I had the beef stew rice bowl and prawn summer rolls. Tasty and generous portions. Support this place, it’s worth it.

Just bought a prawn satay baguette - my niece and I really liked it I intended to share the rest but it was so good we ate it all But its a good size sandwich with lots in it so I now feel full I had it as a takeaway but they do have small tables inside and outside

Finally tried this hidden spot, and wow! It’s a small place with a limited menu, but the portions are generous and the prices are great. I got the 5 spice chicken with noodles and the summer rolls, and it’s enough to last me two meals. I hope they’ll introduce some more things on the menu, but this will definitely be my go to spot for prawn summer rolls for now on- will be back for coffee! Please do check these guys out and support a lovely small business!

Yelp
Very good small Vietnamese restaurant/take-away. I had a Banh Mi Special (with roast pork and chicken slices) which I liked a lot and for GBP 5.50 was a very good deal.
