"This moody, dimly lit bar boasts a vast selection of French-inspired cocktails and mocktails, such as their Bourbon Beurre Blanc (made with brown butter bourbon, apple cider bitters, and orange) or the Sans Spritz, a non-alcoholic aperitif with sparkling grapefruit soda. Don’t skip the dessert menu." - Annemarie Dooling, Ernest Owens
"When: Tuesday-Saturday, 4:30-6pm (only at the bar and lounge) The Deal: $5 Beers, $6 Wines, $7 Cocktails, And $5-$7 Snacks Bar Lesieur in Center City may have a below-average dinner menu, but it's still a buzzy place to get some good drinks before a meal elsewhere. Stop by the French spot for a glass of rosé or a passionfruit paloma. And they have small plates like fries if you need a salty snack with your cocktail. " - candis mclean
"A Restaurant Week newcomer, this fast-paced contemporary French restaurant is perfect for large crowds who love the classics with flare. Come here to celebrate a fall birthday or get a dinner party situated for a night of oysters, lamb chops, and lively bar." - Ernest Owens
"The secret ingredient behind the creamiest crème brûlée in Philly is duck eggs. Yes, this memorable dessert’s custard is made with rich duck eggs that gives a very bold texture and taste — a stellar addition to Bar Lesieur’s après dîner treats menu." - Ernest Owens
"Bar Lesieur is the latest concept from the Schulson Collective to take over the space atop Giuseppe & Sons in Center City. It's sceney, but there's not much payoff when it comes to the food. You’ll see friends at the dimly lit bar eating (disappointing) French bistro staples like over salted steak frites, a flavorless dry-aged duck, and tough veal sweetbreads. And, though we haven't had them, we can't help but wonder why Asian dishes like shrimp dumplings and ham báhn mì make an appearance on the menu. Outside of the well-made cocktails and roasted shallot bread in the free bread basket, nothing about the dining experience here is memorable—except for the monkeys drinking vodka on the bathroom wallpaper. The win, ultimately, is the location. Stop by when you’re in the area for a chatty scene before heading to a.kitchen or Amma’s." - Candis R. McLean
