Bar Mercato - Review - Downtown - Boston - The Infatuation

"Bar Mercato is a hotel restaurant downtown that, thankfully, doesn’t feel like a hotel restaurant. It claims it’s a pan-European small plates place, which, based on the menu, seems to be another word for American. If you’re in the neighborhood and want a place for a business lunch that doesn’t make you feel like you’re on the set of Wall Street, or you want drinks and a light bite after work, this is a good option, especially if you start by splitting the pierogis." - Dan Secatore

Bar Mercato Opens Downtown With a European-Minded Menu - Eater Boston

"An all-day restaurant that takes cues from European food halls opens Friday, February 22 in the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall, near the Old State House. Bar Mercato aims to replicate the fluid nature of such food halls, with both dine-in and cafe-style options for guests and menus spanning breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus afternoon snacks." - Dana Hatic

Very beautiful bar with some nice views of Boston’s small streets! Everything that I have tasted here is great! I tried their burger and it was delicious! Their steak was great, Croque Madame is something I go there for at least twice a week! Their music is amazing! Love sitting there and reading a book or simply having a drink! Like this place a lot and will be coming back many more times!

Shashuka was delicious and not too much food. Veggie burger was a bit mealy and fell apart but overall good. Yummy tater tots for sure. Nice waitstaff. It would be a good environment for a date. Nice lighting, furniture and decorations.

Damn was this impressive. I'm still confused if this is a hotel restaurant or not because it's attached to one, the thing is the food certainly doesn't taste like hotel food. This place is a nice hidden gem on my walk home which fortunately I was able to visit recently. Pickled herring? You bet, just add that into an open face BLT with cherry (or grape) tomates and throw a good helping of guac on it and that's enough to blow my mind! The Brat was also nice and juicy already pre cut so I can shove it down as fast as humanly possible. I expect to be back here soon, no doubt there.

Finally open again! The new menu is just delicious. Outdoor dining is available and super cozy and cool. Highly recommended, one of the best in the area!

Tyler our bartender was very personable, informative, and funny. The drinks were awesome! I came for the chicken fried oysters and was disappointed. My friend order the shrimp which were delicious so I decided to order them and they were prepared entirely different. Wasn't happy with the food but the drinks were superb!

Over priced , lackluster service, staff more interested in playing on their phones. Ordered the hash I would give it a six out of 10 with a side of toast , hash was greasy and tasted burnt portion was big , toast was ok and portion was big. Wife ordered chicken club would give that a 5 out of ten. Sandwich was dry and pitifully executed again over priced , came with french fries they were one of two things that were great, good quality and execution. Son ordered burger presentation was good but burger was unseasoned and lack luster would give it a four out of ten. It came with fries again ten out of ten . Daughter ordered chicken soup which was the best thing we ordered it was a ten out of ten. Overall service sucked , due to one server and one bartender but playing on their phones. Had to get up and ask for check , had to get up and ask to order. Drinks were not refilled without asking. Rate over all experience two stars. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Went for a late meal and drink around 8/9 on a Tuesday night after work. We had our choice of bar seating, high tops for two, or tables for 4+ as it wasn't crowded at this time. The drink selection was good and the food was cooked to perfection. The only downside was the price which was a bit high for a dinner and a beer. -- Charged me +$10 in tips on top of the $12+ I signed for. Was originally 4 stars.

First time and Pharma condo and love the ambience and started with a great white burgundy, but went downhill from there. The service was very slow. We ordered the fried artichokes and they didn’t arrive before our meal because they fell on the floor in the kitchen. When they did arrive, they were soggy, not crispy. The salmon burger recommended by the server, was scary fishy and inedible. So, sent it back and ordered a margarita flatbread. The margarita flatbread was good-spicy. I would try this restaurant one more time with the hope that they will read this review and improve.
