Beausoleil - Review - Garden Oaks - Houston - The Infatuation

"Black-and-white reruns of Julia Child play above the bar at Beausoleil, which gives you an idea of the vibe at this Garden Oaks French restaurant: elegant, but not too serious. It’s a study in contrasts, as patrons in flip-flops and shorts join neighbors on the front porch to slurp fresh oysters after their kids’ baseball practice, while couples dressed to impress murmur sweet nothings across white-linen tables while sipping French 77s. Start with the bread service, which comes with butter of the gods, a whipped spread of foie gras, bone marrow, truffle, blue cheese, and Wagyu beef tallow piped directly into a split bone. The main dishes are just as enticing. There’s thick spaghetti with briny sautéed oysters and Spanish chorizo, tangled up in a creamy garlic and white wine sauce. And the dry-aged, bone-in pork chop is drenched in apricot demiglace, a sweet-and-smoky bite that made us close our eyes in delight. With a long bar for extended hangouts and its casual atmosphere, Beausoleil feels like a slightly fancier-than-usual neighborhood spot, but Inner Loopers should still make the trek north of 610 for the butter blessed by the divine alone." - Brianna McClane

Magnifique experience during my first experience at BeauSoleil❣️ I absolutely love the entire staff for their warm welcome, giving me VIP service at the bar while I had a bit of me-time during my birthday weekend! I enjoyed the yummy oysters and delectable crab cakes served on antique French plates. All their foods were served on beautiful wares❣️ I love the quaint feel of the restaurant, where it’s tucked in an adorable Oak Forest neighborhood.

Had an incredible brunch at BeauSoleil! The food and drinks were absolutely amazing—everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The crab cake and shrimp & grits were especially standout dishes. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend.

Finally made it to BeauSoleil and was genuinely impressed! Both of our seafood dishes were incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. We ordered the crab cakes as our starter and they were delicious. I loved the fresh tomato salad & pea shoots on top. The dressing for this salad had the perfect amount of acid to cut through the richness of the crab & the excellent tartar sauce. For our main we had the Bronzino and it was delicious as well. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed dinner or a night out with friends. What really stood out, aside from the food, was the attentive and friendly waitstaff. Service was smooth, knowledgeable, and never rushed. Another pleasant surprise: the wine list. It was refreshingly affordable with a solid range of bottles that paired beautifully with the menu. Definitely a rare find these days. Overall, this place gets high marks for quality, value, and experience. We’ll absolutely be back.

An Epic Birthday Celebration & Culinary Delight! From the moment we stepped into BeauSoleil HTX in Houston, we knew we were in for something special. Our recent birthday celebration for one of our girlfriends was, in a word, epic, and a huge part of that was thanks to the impeccable service and truly exceptional French-American cuisine with a Cajun flair. Our server, Jeremiah, deserves a standing ovation. He was an absolute delight – attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every dish, and possessed a wonderful, friendly demeanor that made us feel right at home. Jeremiah expertly guided us through the menu, offering insightful recommendations that proved to be spot on, and he was always there with a smile to ensure our glasses were full and our spirits were high. His service truly elevated our entire dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food, because BeauSoleil HTX delivered on every single front: We started with oysters, and they were a revelation. Fresh, briny, and perfectly chilled, each oyster was a taste of the Gulf, demonstrating the restaurant's commitment to high-quality seafood. We tried both the raw on the half shell and the Baked Oysters de BeauSoleil, and both were absolute perfection – the baked oysters with their spinach, parmesan, and crispy prosciutto topping were a decadent treat. The crab cakes were another highlight. These weren't your average filler-heavy crab cakes; these were packed with succulent, sweet lump crabmeat, lightly seasoned to let the natural flavors shine. Served with a delicate sauce that complemented rather than overwhelmed, they were a testament to classic preparation done flawlessly. The duck confit was simply divine. Tender, crispy-skinned, and rich with flavor, it was a masterclass in French culinary technique. The accompanying orange sauce and candied kumquats provided a perfect balance of sweetness and tang, cutting through the richness beautifully. A truly memorable dish that left us all wanting more. While we didn't indulge in "Cohen feet" (it seems there might have been a playful misremembering of a dish name or a fun inside joke amongst you girls!), the scallops we did share were utterly exquisite. Perfectly seared to a golden crust with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior, they were a testament to the kitchen's precision. Each scallop was plump and sweet, showcasing the freshness of the seafood. We loved how they were presented, a visual as well as a culinary treat. Every dish was clearly prepared with passion and skill, from the thoughtfully sourced ingredients to the artful presentation. The ambiance of BeauSoleil HTX is also worth noting – it's elegant yet approachable, creating the perfect atmosphere for a special occasion where laughter and good conversation can flow freely. For a simply for an outstanding meal in Houston, BeauSoleil HTX is an absolute must-visit. With phenomenal food, a beautiful setting, and the incredible service of Jeremiah, it's an experience we won't soon forget. We're already planning our next visit! You must go.

Chef David & his team gave us an amazing & memorable birthday dinner! Oysters & accoutrement were DELICIOUS! Bred service was to die for. My branzino was perfectly prepared with an exquisite sauce. To top it off I was surprised with a Chef created surprise birthday dessert! We’ll be back very soon!!!

This might be my new favorite Houston restaurant! The service was perfection - warm, friendly, personable, but also professional and eager to please. The food was amazing! I'm not an oyster girl, though the cute names tempted me, so I was worried I might not be impressed, but I was wrong! The bread service was to die for - must try! The chicken felt like French comfort food, and the branzino was perfect. The desserts were decadent! Try the vanilla shaved cream - so light and fluffy! We sat indoors, which looks like the inside of a boat and is SO cute, due to the heat, but I can't wait to sit on their adorable patio in the fall. My only note is it would feel more fun with a packed house so let's all go and support this new local GOOF gem! I'm a very picky about my restaurants but I will definitely be going back again and again! Tres bien!

Went during their first or second week after opening. Still working out some of the operational kinks which is normal after just opening, but our waitress was wonderful and the food was great! Tried the escargot, pasta, and lamb. Excited to go back and try the catch of the day and the burrata. Cocktails all looked good, tried an old fashioned that was good. And EAST COAST OYSTERS 😍

Exquisite!!! If you're looking for a hidden gem that truly delivers, look no further! I chose Beau Soleil for my birthday dinner with my husband and it DID NOT disappoint. The only disappointment was that I didn't have more room in my stomach to eat more. The service was phenomenal. Our server was attentive, personable, and so knowledgeable about the food. The food was perfection. One of the best meals I've ever had from start to finish. Do not sleep on the bread service! I have dreams of this bone marrow, foie gras, cheese and butter concoction and the bread that pairs with it is equally as delicious. The mussels were so yummy I honestly could have drank the broth. Dinner was 5 stars, the duck breast special was so flavorful and tender and my husband's lamb was cooked perfectly. The vanilla shaved cream for dessert was unique and lite enough that we had just enough room to enjoy it. The cocktails and all the details down to the dainty glasses and decor were truly awesome. This restaurant deserves all the rave reviews and to be booked solid. If you're looking for a memorable date night option or want to wow your friends, this is the place to go!

Yelp
I was recommended this establishment by a friend and was pleasantly impressed by my experience. Although it was raining outside, inside was romantic and cozy with French bistro music playing. There's a bar area, with tables in the front and a larger room in the back. Since it was HH, I ordered a dozen of East Coast oysters (Blue point, from Nova Scotia, and another I don't recall) they were served with a mignonette, a horseradish cream sauce, and a very good cocktail sauce. I also got the shrimp martini, mussels, and escargot to share. The oysters were buttery and plump, tasted so fresh. The shrimp martini was so delicious, jumbo briny shrimp with a tangy and creamy sauce. The escargot was buttery and succulent. If you haven't had it, it's basically like a buttery cooked oyster. The mussels were delectable, and the toast points were so good to soak up the sauce. Their heirloom tomato and burrata salad was awesome. It was served with a raspberry compote and a lemony dressing which complemented the creamy burrata. The bread service was alright. It didn't wow me, the bone marrow with blue cheese was an interesting combination but we enjoyed the bread to dip into the mussel broth. The filet was good. Although it was more on the rare side, we were able to send it back to have it cooked to medium. We also had the vanilla shaved cream for dessert. It was so creamy and the strawberry topping made it so delicious. Jeremiah and Donald were great and provided such attentive service. Will return in the future. Highly recommend!

Yelp
PSA!!! Beausoleil is a GEM in the heart of the Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area. I am beyond thrilled for a more upscale restaurant that I don't have to trek to the other side of town to get to or waste 20-30 minutes driving. Every detail from the glassware to the plates and the decor you can tell was meticulously picked. The wait staff and customer service was nothing less than exceptional. The team and owner went out of their way to ensure our dinner experience was memorable. Some highlights on the food: - order the off the menu items - the scallops were cooked perfectly and had a delicious buttery flavor mixed with the polento - Burrata salad - a perfect blend of tomatoes, true burrata (not mozzarella like some restaurants do) and the blackberry on top truly balanced it - Wagyu filet - cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning - Spanish Oyster Pasta - IMO a tad light on the oysters, but overall another great dish and the sauce on it tied the pasta together perfectly - DESSERT - DO NOT SKIP THIS!!! Holy moly - the vanilla shaved cream is like adult shaved dippin dots and was nothing less than extraordinary. The also gave us the Chocolate Mousse on the house and the lack of description on the menu does it a disservice as the mousse is wonderful and boasts amazing flavors with the fruit compote they blend in Drinks: - Do not overlook the cocktails!! We ordered different cocktails and both were equally delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable on guiding us to the best red wine for what we ordered and to top if off, they gave us complimentary champagne for my friends birthday To top it all off - they have an Airbnb on the second floor!! The owner went out of his way and gave us a tour of the 2 bed, 2 bath and the wrap around porch makes it the perfect staycation getaway. Fabulous restaurant and can't wait to go back for HH and brunch!

Yelp
We came here tonight for dinner and everything was AMAZING. Chef David is truly incredible at what he does. The staff was friendly and attentive. We started with the bread service and the Butter of the Gods is definitely named correctly. It was heavenly. Chef brought us out the baked oysters and crab cake which were both very tasty as well. For our main course I had the pork chop and my bf had the branzino. I will be dreaming of this pork chop until I can have it again. It was so tender and flavorful. We ended with the chocolate mousse which was divine. We will definitely be back for dinner and can't wait to try out the brunch as well!

Yelp
This is probably our 5th time here. T The service is always great and the owners are always attentive to their guests. The inside has such cool woody vibes and although the vibe and food is upscale, it's also a restaurant you can come casual and enjoy their happy hour. hey have an amazing happy hour with great drinks and 1.5 oysters. I would personally recommend their oysters, drinks and their wagyu ribeye that you can cut with a butter knife. Can't wait to try more of their menu items!

Yelp
Went for happy hour drinks and oysters, and was not disappointed. Cocktails were great and the service was fantastic. Right when we walked in the door we were treated with a helpful smile. We sat on the patio and luckily the Houston weather wasn't too bad. Hastily posting this review because we want this place to ourselves.

Yelp
I give this place a 10 out of 10 I really enjoyed the dinner and the drinks are appropriately priced. I think the food quality was pretty high, which match the price and I would definitely come back. I like the way the hip styled the space and I was able to eat on the patio in my own little neighborhood. I think they're figuring out a few kinks, but I felt like this was a really nice fine dining experience. Service was great.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Drinks were fire and the food was absolutely amazing. Mussels, oysters, foie gras and the steak were all phenomenal. Definitely a spot to add to your must try list! Staff and owner are wonderful!

Yelp
Food and service were great. But I could not enjoy anything because the private space assigned to our group was stuffy and so hot and uncomfortable. That was a deal-breaker for me. The ice in my drink melted in no time and the drink tasted like water after. There was no aircon in the space we were in - only a slow ceiling fan. The windows were all closed. Not a great time at all. I wanted to leave 5 mins after sitting down but was with friends so I had no choice. The one thing to note is the restaurant called my friend to confirm the reservation and did not inform her that they are putting us in a room with no aircon. Any restaurant would have brought this up so the patrons can be aware. It's not even outdoor seating with the windows closed. It was just stuffy and not enjoyable - at least outdoors is not stifling.

Yelp
Best experience! Delicious food, great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Cant wait to come back soon!

Yelp
Wonderful food and a staff. It's a smaller neighborhood spot that is making great French food and the staff was super attentive and caring. Follow their recommendations because they won't lead you astray. My only note, maybe turn down the AC a bit, but that's a small note compared to the great experience we had. We'll definitely be back!
