The Best New Brunches in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"This charming, beautiful restaurant in the LGD is a delight — family-owned, friendly, and elegant. It’s also already serving brunch, a rarity for most new restaurants. On Saturday and Sunday, the normally seafood-centric menu gets a mid-day makeover with dishes like stuffed French toast, boneless short ribs with poached eggs, crab meat eggs Benedict, Gulf shrimp salad, pear toast, and a BLT." - Eater Staff

The Best Restaurants and Bars in the Lower Garden District (LGD) | Eater New Orleans

"Yes, Beggars Banquet is inspired by the Stones’ album. It’s also named for chef Mike DiIonno’s first restaurant in his native New Jersey. He and his wife Patty moved to Nola to be closer to daughter Kat, who runs the charming bar and restaurant with them and is the mind behind the creative drink offerings. The polished menu includes an outstanding crabmeat Benedict for brunch and a potato-encrusted gulf fish of the day, served with mushrooms and leeks in a white wine garlic sauce." - Clair Lorell

Google
Best restaurant I have ever been too. The food was to die for. Service was incredible. I loved it so much. Definitely get the mushroom gnocchi because I have dreams about it. I got it as an appetizer. We also got the steak sandwich and fries which was amazing. The redfish as well was delicious.

Google
So happy we came here for our last night in New Orleans! The reviews don’t lie this is a great place with amazing food!! Fav was for sure the short ribs. 100% get that. And the praline bread pudding dessert was out of this world!!! Serving sizes were also HUGE a lot bigger than I expected! Service was great and very very quick!

Randal E.

Google
You must go here. Great food & service (thanks Ann Marie). Started with the crispy calamari served with deliciously hot capers & peppers. For the main, the fresh market fish (drum that day) was absolutely superb, paired expertly with oyster mushrooms in a white wine garlic sauce. Those having the prix fixe raved about the salad (look for the ciabatta croutons that surprisingly heavenly), the black drum, and their desserts. Our resident vegetarian spoke highly of the gnocchi with mushrooms in cream sauce. If you've not been, add it to your list.

Google
Absolutely loved this spot. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and top notch service. Went for brunch and fell in love with all aspects of this quaint gem. Our server, Rita, was friendly, attentive, and took such great care of us. The grilled banana bread is beyond words. The short rib benedict will haunt my dreams in the best possible way. Beggars Banquet easily earned a spot on our "must visit when in NOLA" list. Do yourself a favor and just go.

Google
Food was very underwhelming and pretty pricey. Food is cooked well just isn’t flavorful. I ordered the duck and was a pretty bland plate. Truffle fries had too much of the truffle oil that I wasn’t a fan of and made the fries a little soggy. The crudo was the favorite dish of the night though I would remove the mandarin oranges off the plate or blend it in with the sauce. They added sweetness to the dish but the cuts were too big making some bites overly sweet.

Google
If you haven't tried Beggars Banquet, you are missing out on one of the BEST brunch spots in New Orleans!!! I have been to most brunch spots in my city (unless it opened after 2023) because brunch is what I do! Had a great time with my friends celebrating my birthday (plenty of eating and drinking during my trip). The cocktails were just ad tasty as the food. I will be back!

Google
Wonderful find just off St. Charles at the beginning of the Garden District (near downtown). Great ambience/not too loud, with very attentive service. We had brunch and it was amazing. From the grilled banana bread and peach toast to the bananas foster French toast, we all enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend!

Google
Beggars Banquet is the kind of brunch spot that makes you wonder why you ever eat breakfast at home. We met our dear friends here for a Sunday feast, and—pro tip—reservations are your golden ticket. The interior is charmingly whimsical (yes, even the bathrooms deserve a mention), with cozy tables, warm light, and just enough greenery to feel like you’ve stumbled into someone’s stylish living room. The service? Friendly, efficient, and perfectly paced—never a moment of “where’s my coffee?” panic. The menu may be compact, but every dish feels like it’s been dreamed up by someone with a flair for indulgence and a wink toward tradition. Our friends scored the coveted banana bread with maple bacon butter before it sold out (rookie mistake on our part—note to self: arrive early). We started with crispy calamari and fried green tomatoes paired with a luscious slice of burrata—both dangerously snackable. When it came to mains, our table went all in: steak and eggs, a decadent Bananas Foster French toast (seriously, try it before you die so you can go happy), and two takes on eggs Benedict—one crowned with fresh crab, the other with tender brisket. Just because it's New Orleans we had to try the as ago grits which were decadently divine. Every plate was absurdly, unapologetically delicious. Street parking was a breeze, the location is central for the metro area, and I’m already plotting my return. Beggars Banquet isn’t just brunch—it’s a full-on mood, and I’m grateful to have been introduced to this little gem!

Yelp
I chose to dine with Beggars based on their menu offerings for brunch and lunch. I reviewed a few other restaurant's brunch menus and they lacked they "Mmmm" factor. Upon reading Beggar's menu, I immediately found interesting offerings which directed me to make a reservation. Enjoy delicious sweet or savory selections at a price that is very affordable comparable to other restaurants. Additionally, I love the décor. It is causal with a touch of 70s chic in my opinion. Our server was Ethan. He was most attentive and genial. My experience has undoubtedly solidified me as a returning patron.

Yelp
Great service and beautiful and fun interior (although smaller than I anticipated). Parking was very easy on the street as well. I enjoyed the food, but definitely was a bit pricey so just keep that in mind. That being said, we also ordered a lot of food for two people! Mushroom toast-highlight appetizers with a thick piece of toast cut in half, avocado, delicious array of mushrooms Calamari-usually not a fan but tried it since people raved about this. Appreciated that it wasn't a thick fried coating, and the peppers gave it a nice kick Fried green tomatoes-tasty but nothing particularly special compared to others I've had Gnocchi-rich and creamy, large portion, would definitely get again if you're a fan of mushrooms like I am Redfish-also good, but my husband said not necessarily the best he has ever had Bananas foster crème brûlée-don't skip this dessert, so good!

Yelp
Our reservation was early and I was the first of my party to arrive. The staff was super great and sat me right away. As my party rolled in, so did the place fill up rather quickly. Definitely you should make reservations. The whole vibe is so cool, dress up or dress down. I started with a bloody Mary which proved to be really nice, a little bit of spice and a cute pickle assortment. The table ordered Biscuits and Banana bread. The biscuits were their interpretation of biscuits, but more like a biscuit bread which came out in 4 giant squares. I'm not a marmelade fan so I just had butter. Still yummy. I thought it was nice and VERY filling (uh oh), I then could only have a small piece of banana bread. It was delicious. Next came our mains, The whole table ordered the Crabby Benny, even our vegan who asked for it without the crab. I pride myself on being a Benedict connoisseur and when the plate came out I was wowed by the presentation. I always add lemon to my benedicts. The potatoes were perfectly cooked at crispy. delish. I took the plunge. then another bite, something seemed off. I looked at the others in my party and everyone started in. It appeared that there is some sort of sweet relish added. In my opinion it overpowered the crab and completely knocked me off kilter. 3 of us left half, even the vegan. Now is it bad, absolutely not. We just didn't care for the sweet relish and I would absolutely order it again, but without the relish. I still had a wonderful time and there's so much to try on the menu. Looking forward to my return.

Yelp
Me and the gals had a lady's brunch here a couple of months ago. I struggled to find the entrance door to the restaurant. I saw the sign above the door, but the door is basically blank or light designed. After going around to the side and back to the place that I started under the big sign, which logically would be the entrance, I opened it and voila! I was in. The hostess seemed a little perturbed or just plain unamused and I am sure others have done the same. In fact, one of the ladies in my group did the exact same thing as I did - started at the front door, noticed no vivid sign, walked around the side to see if there was a blatantly obvious entrance door with a sign, saw there was not and walked back to original door. ha! There could be a much bigger sign assuring customers of where to enter. Anyway, after the entrance fiasco, we all ordered much needed adult bevies to kick off the weekend. Martini espressos were the main drink of choice. Some also tried the kitten's mittens. All the drinks were tasty, not my fav martini espresso in the city, but a good one. The biscuits were ordered - those were tasty, the pear toast were good, the sriracha cauliflor was possibly the star dish - no pics tho, as was the ahi tuna - same, no pics. For entrees, I ordered the chicken Milanese which was good, but again did not blow me away. I would like to have tried the banana fosters French toast, but I couldn't do such a sweet dish. Maybe the next time. The bathroom decor was amazing. Everything was clean and I enjoyed the uniquness of the layout and decor. Overall, I enjoyed the food, the drinks, and the company. I liked some of the decor as well. The service was good I just think they need more of a sense of humor - I think we annoyed them with our entrance woes. But if I had to choose between serious service that tends to all our needs vs happy jokester service that does not tend to our needs, I prefer the serious service. I wonder how they got the name Beggars Banquet. I forgot to ask. hmm? Good times were had. Thanks for doing what yall do.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I missed this restaurant, which is on my path all the time. It goes to show our rich restaurant scene in New Orleans. BB is located in lower garden district close to the CCC, with a very easy access from all parts of the city. Easy parking on the street. This is a lovely restaurant with a very well appointed full bar. Both the restaurant and the bar are tastefully decorated, tranquil and welcoming. Owner Patty was hostessing. This is place one wants to be. Staff was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. The menu was not extensive and was not anemic. They have the perfect balance of appetizers and entrees. We had the Firecracker calamari and the Rare tuna for appetizers, both very good but I thought the firecracker was a little overdosed. This very well thought out dish would taste even better if it just wasn't painfully good. We also had the steak sandwich with fries, Osso buco, and the fresh Gnocchi with mushrooms. Everything was very good, I thought osso buco could stay in the oven a little longer. Personally, I would also serve it with a little thicker. Their desserts were innovative and not heavy or overwhelming. We had the delicious Bananas foster crème brûlée. This is an excellent restaurant deserves many visits.

Yelp
We came to Beggars Banquet for brunch. It was really good. My two friends had the short ribs and I had the steak and eggs. The service was great, the food was fantastic, and the ambiance is really nice. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Cute brunch spot. I have been here a couple times with friends and the drinks and food are great. Most recently, we arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
the cutest little spot! great atmosphere and energy! love the decor and the vibe! the service is spectacular! Rita was my lovely waitress and she was phenomenal! very attentive and gave great recommendations with a smile on her face the entire time! the food is delicious and carefully prepared, flavors were unique but blended organically for a great balance and tasteful adventure, and the drinks are delicious! a must try! you won't regret!

Yelp
First visited this restaurant while the "Barbie" craze was going on. My friend and I decided to do a cutesy Barbie brunch here. It was lovely! Since then, I've been back more times than I can count. Food is always great, the cauliflower is one of my faves on the menu! Drinks are always on point as well! At the time they carried an espresso crème brûlée, to do for!!!! They've changed the menu but still great items!

Yelp
I visited this place on a Thursday evening and it's smaller inside but cute. So I had an espresso martini which was just okay, nothing spectacular. The mushroom toast was tasty and it was plated super cute. I had seared redfish for dinner and u would not recommend it at all. The corn maque choux was just too greasy and salty for me. The fish was ok and it was seared good. The crabmeat on top was pretty but lacked any true flavors. Overall the dish was pretty in presentation but I was expecting the flavors to come together so much better. I would've rather my fish just been on some potatoes and called it a day. The bathroom also could've used a little TLC. For the price, I'd just expect more. There are better places in the city.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood place done well - the Bar is on the left and they have a nice early happy hour menu and the full restaurant has a door on the right which opens around 5pm. Calamari is some of the best you'll find, it's not over-fried like most - just right yielding a perfect texture and good accompaniments. Mushroom toast is nice, who can argue with excellent Focaccia, top quality ingredients, and great flavors. Entrees are generally large portions so you might want to plan on taking some home, but we've had most items and it's hard to go wrong. Plus the cocktail menu is amazing and the wine list has some nice options so you have great options all around. Service is excellent, with some of the nicest and most genuine people you will find in the industry. If you live in the area or you're in from elsewhere, this is the kind of neighborhood place you want to support. Enjoy!

Belinda J.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant! Food, service, and ambience were above my expectation. If you happen to come to this establishment, please ask for Alex she is very knowledgeable about food. She made great recommendations on the menu. She has a great personality demeanour and she's also beautiful! I love everything about this place - stop in pls you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Linett A.

Yelp
Good food and great service. This place does not disappoint. Seems a bit pricey if you are just browsing the menu online. I can assure you, the quality is there. I had Danielle as a server and she was helpful amazing. Hidden gem here in the lower garden district. On street parking. Come by for dinner or Brunch. Happy hour is 3-5.
google avatar

Nina L.

Yelp
Good food, service and a cute setting. Came here for an early lunch on a Friday afternoon. We had a reservation but it wasn't necessary. I ordered the banh mi sandwich with pork belly and my partner had the steak sandwich. The fries for both were crispy and fresh. They're shoe string fries. Both sandwiches were delicious. A perfect portion that left us plenty full until dinner. A perfect lunch spot near the WWII museum and away from the bustle of the French Quarter.
google avatar

Ella A.

Yelp
We came to check out the happy hour, which is Wednesday through Sunday, 3-5. I ordered off the regular menu and got the espresso martini and a mahi mahi sandwich. I thought every bit of the sandwich was delicious, but I didn't like the espresso martini. The entire reason I came was for the martini, as it had been highly recommended. Maybe it's personal preference, but I like those to be sweeter, darker, and less bitter. The bartender was friendly. And the pics kf the bathroom are just because - wow - there's a lot on those walls.

Yelp
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! Beggars and Banquet is my new spot! The restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood. The restaurant was super chilled. I like the fact it wasn't extremely loud and crowded. Service was thee best! Shoutout to the best server ever Ethan!!! He was super friendly, he made wonderful suggestions, my friend is a woman, so he was nice enough to give us both a little taste of one of the rose. He even gave us a breakdown of the restaurants, history the meaning behind the name. Come to find out it's a Rolling Stone song + family owned restaurant. Everything makes sense because looking at the wall decor throughout the restaurant, it has a pop fill to it. We had the Sriracha cauliflower for our appetizer. I had the short ribs, my friend had the gulf fish (halibut). SOOOOOO freaking delicious!!! I'm a cocktail girl I had the fish house punch. My friend on the other hand who's a true wino had the rose with notes of watermelon, white pepper, etc. The was good! I had the flourless chocolate torte (salted caramel). Our experience at Beggars Banquet was PERFECT!
google avatar

Rhonda M.

Yelp
Yummmm. Is that enough for you? If you don't go, that's fine, it leaves a spot for me to go again and eat the best calamari that I've ever had, washed down by excellent drinks and followed up by amazing short ribs. Service is excellent too!
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I got this order to go. I ordered fried green tomatoes and the tuna tar tar. The fried green tomato came with burrata and a balsamic glaze. I didn't love the burrata, it tasted close to rotten. I appreciated the aestethic of the restaurant. The hostess or whoever gave me my food was nice. The service was quick. The area is decent. They have stickers, don't forget to grab one. The raw tuna fish was also tasty! I would go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Cocktails and appetizers! Redfish dip is amazing and awesome Lemon Drop Martini! Oh and maybe the best espresso martinis in town, they sprinkle sea salt on it !!!
google avatar

Yelp
10/5 stars. Romantic date night decor and table spacing. We tried out a variety of dishes on their menu and were pleased with all. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious and I suggest getting a side of their raspberry sauce to go with it. Our server, Doc, was super cool!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
This place is a solid solid 5!! We chose this establishment the night before Stones Day at JazzFest on a whim!!! It did not disappoint! The cocktails were fabulous and the food equally GREAT. We had the Boneless Short Ribs, the SCHNITZEL, and the Gnocchi. I have to say the Short Ribs and Gnocchi were the best we have ever had! This is a must visit! Good HH too.

Yelp
In just a few visits, Beggars Banquet quickly became one of our favorite fine dining restaurants in the city. We first went on a Saturday evening, grabbing a last minute reservation for a much needed "parents night out." They had ample times available, and the only reason I can imagine is because they are new & still relatively unknown. Each time, I've been taken care of by a wonderful server named Doc. She's attentive, friendly, and frankly, I kind of want to be her friend. I appreciate that the restaurant has spiritless/NA/zero-proof cocktails and beer available, which can be surprisingly neglected in the city. The fried green tomatoes with burrata and balsamic is fresh and wonderful a wonderful alternative for those who have seafood allergies (or dislike seafood). The short ribs are, by far, my favorite entree. They are like eating a warm hug, especially when paired with bread pudding. If you need comfort food, this is the combo! My husband loved his scallops and their hash, which he said he'd eat for breakfast any day. When we brought guests on another trip, they had fish (the gulf and swordfish), my husband had the pork, and I went with the duck. Overall, the duck was my least favorite option (though that could be a side effect of COVID taste buds). His pork tenderloin was fantastic, and the grits are dreamy. Beggars Banquet is on a quiet section of Prytania, where street parking is ample. But make no mistake - it's bright, lively, and filled with great food indoors!

Yelp
Went here for brunch yesterday and it was really great. We ordered an appetizer (calamari) which was absolutely spectacular. The fish was cooked perfectly, tender and a nice crunchy coating. It was served with a relish made of olives, capers and cherry peppers for a briny, salty bite. Really marvelous. Three of us had the crab benedict and one had the short rib benedict. Both pretty straightforward dishes, with a silky smooth and not too rich hollandaise. The sauce was really good. Service was great. All around a lovely time.
google avatar

Chris E.

Yelp
We went with a party of 5 on Saturday night to try a new spot for all 5 of us. Let me tell you that this place is one of my new favorite restaurants in the city, with zero hesitation. Ethan was our waiter and kept our drinks full and the reccomendations he made were incredible. We had the calimari, kale caesar, seared tuna, and fried green tomatoes all of which were delicious, easy 8.5-10s on every single one. For dinner we went with the redfish, steak frites, and the gnocchi. Seriously not only was everything extremely fast out of the kitchen, the steak was the perfect temp, the pasta and fish were delicate and delicious, but the french fries are seriously top two in the city (Delachaise being my other). I will be back, and I will be back with more new people to experience this place.

Kristen B.

Yelp
This is a must try! Off the beaten path a little, but worth a few extra blocks. Great ambiance and service. Went for brunch and the food was absolutely amazing. The pear toast is a must. Got the crab benny and my husband got the short rib Benny and both were SO GOOD!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to Beggers Banquet for Father's Day brunch Great drinks.Food was vey good. Service was excellent. Banana bread appetizer great. Butter maple bacon delicious. Definitely will go back
google avatar

Emily V.

Yelp
I had a work lunch here. The food was amazing! One of the better meals I've had in NOLA lately. I had the steak sandwich and the steak was perfectly cooked and the focaccia it was on was so tender. It was so delicious! Service was great too. I can't wait to come back and try some more dishes!
google avatar

Marigny L.

Yelp
Beggars Banquet is a New American Bar & Bistro in the Lower Garden District! They have craft cocktails, bites, and seafood-centered dishes. Definitely a good spot for dinner or date night!
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
I love reviews, but I don't often write one. This restaurant was worth the time to review. From the hello to the goodbye Beggars stood out in every aspect from the exceptional service provided by Bea, the cute/intimate vibe, to the amazing food and drink options. We honestly couldn't decide what to have and thanks to Bea's suggestion we ordered multiple dishes and shared them family style. Each dish had amazing flavors and it didn't disappoint. The redfish wasn't even on the radar until it was described to us and wow!!! If you are in town this should definitely make your list of places to eat at, as I know I will be back maybe more than once each time I am here!
google avatar

Kristina R.

Yelp
A beautiful new restaurant with some great decor. The bar is exquisite and inviting. We sat down at a cozy table and enjoyed the calamari, cauliflower and mushrooms in cognac. Each dish had a nice presentation but they were not tongue tingling. The mushrooms and cauliflower were bland. The calamari was run of the mill. We did enjoy the coffee martini which was smooth along with the old fashioned.
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
Delicious new spot in the Lower Garden District. We had the calamari and fried green tomatoes for starters - both good but note that the calamari is definitely spicy (in a good way). For entrees, we had the scallops, gnocchi and short ribs with a side of fries. All huge portions! Great service and unique cocktails. A little loud in the dining room but it adds to the ambiance of being a bustling restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

Lindsey H.

Yelp
OMG! Fabulous! Ethan helped us today and this was exactly what we needed! Get the banana bread, get grits, get stuffed French toast and crabby Benny! So good! Excellent service!
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
Food amazing! Service - super friendly! Thanks Doc! This spot won't stay a secret for long! Lamb, halibut mushrooms app all are fantastic! But, the Gnocchi is to die for!
google avatar

Yelp
Just an excellent meal. The short rib was one of the best I've had. Also love the gnocchi.

Yelp
Always excellent service and food in this cozy local restaurant. Much appreciated addition to the LGD.

Yelp
We LOVE this place. The food is awesome and the staff are fabulous humans. Great place for Sunday brunch, weekday lunch and meeting a friend for happy hour.

Keyley M.

Yelp
Never heard of this restaurant. My friend brought me here after the first place we went didn't work out. I'm soooo grateful for that! The food options were appealing, the food was fresh and amazing and the service matched. Can't wait to visit again and bring some friends.
google avatar

Pilar H.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was amazing! Seared scallops with crab hash was my choice of the evening. Would definitely order this again. We also ordered the short ribs. Omg melt in your mouth.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
A much welcome addition to the neighborhood. Good food, good coctails, and good value. Sriracha Cauliflower and Calimari were standouts as was fish entree.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
So excited to have this gem in our neighborhood! If you are a calamari fan, or even if you're not, your should go tonight and order the calamari. Hands down the best in town. Steak sandwich called "Tangled Up In Blue" was also a delight and the thin, crispy fries are what you've always wanted fries to be. They also have great cocktails and an approachable and eclectic wine list. Can't wait to go back and try more!
google avatar

Zakiya P.

Yelp
I was very pleased with this beautiful restaurant! It was an amazing and new experience! I would recommend to anyone to try! Once you try it once you gone once you are going to want to go back! Gluten free friendly!!
google avatar

Mark T W.

Yelp
While the food was fresh, it was served lukewarm. Brunch choice written as rémolade sauce was served as hollandaise sauce. I mentioned this to waitress who assured me it was hollandaise sauce with rémolade under the poached eggs. This place is a step above most breakfast diners in atmosphere, service, and preparation, but needs more attention to details.

Yelp
Beggars Banquet is a solid new restaurant. It's in the lower garden district across the street from the Green Fork. It has an intimate setting with modern American style food with New Orleans influences. We started with the ahi tuna and the fried green tomato appetizer, both of which were very good. My husband had a fish special entree that he really liked and I had the duck confit, which is a delicious dish. We skipped dessert because we were full, but I will certainly return to this restaurant.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Beggars Banquet was suggested to us by a local on the first day of our trip. This was the best meal we had while in New Orleans. The atmosphere was perfect for what we were looking for. Our waiter had the best recommendations and was very knowledgeable. Food and Drinks were all phenomenal.

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely-- very hip and done well. The drinks were also creative and delicious. The service was great. This next part is going to be snobby, but then I think this restaurant invites a snobby take because the twee bespoke interior suggested a certain taste level with the food. My problem was with the food. It was out of pace with the rest of the vibe. It was like a time traveller from an airport "gastropub" in 2008 opened a wormhole in the kitchen. The food came on square white plates with ENORMOUS parsley garnishes. It's giving Copelands. Cheesecake Bistro. The cauliflower app with the cucumber slice garnish was out of a Walk Ons picture menu. Beyond looks-- the cauliflower was undercooked. The puff pastry under the cognac mushrooms was white-- no color-- so it was mushy and didn't contrast with the mushy mushrooms. The fried green tomatoes were like shoe leather (that one was truly confusing-- never dealt with a tomato with that issue before). The steak had not a grain of salt on it. The duck leg confit was gamey and dry, and the hash it sat on was soft and textureless. I'm a dessert monster but the bananas foster creme brulee wasn't worth the risk. These are nit-picky complaints, and if I had been with my granny in a fancy restaurant in Ohio or a mall or something, I never would have given the meal a second thought. It was surprising in this atmosphere (like the current NOLA food scene and also in that particular room) to be served food that really didn't measure up in terms of creativity, presentation, or execution.

Yelp
We had an early lunch/brunch on a week day and the food was delicious! We were the first customers of the day. We were greeted by a gracious host who kindly sat us at a dining table in the bar area since we did not have a reservation. The food and cocktails/mocktails were delicious! We had Crab Bisque, Crispy Chicken sandwich, BLT, steak sandwich and mahi mahi sandwich, all of which were generous portions of very high quality ingredients. And the fries, oh the fries! We were told that they cook them in rice oil which is not uncommon these days, but the preparation and seasoning made them taste so wonderful...and fries are not typically my preferred choice of potato. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners of Beggars Banquet as we were leaving and she had delightful restaurant stories to tell us! Hospitality extraordinaire! Also, check out the restroom decor before you leave!

Yelp
Perfect evening out for dinner and drinks. The staff was all very welcoming and really created an ambiance that exemplified the best of 'southern hospitality'. The food was amazing (the scallops were my favorite - best I've ever had). Will definitely be returning to Beggars Banquet on my next trip to New Orleans. Can't wait :)

Yelp
This is not really a review, but a thank you letter from NJ. We were lucky to eat many times at one of Chef Mike's restaurants in NJ: Good Mojo in East Hanover. Amazing food and ambiance. We will miss him and his wife, but one man's loss is another man's gain. So good luck to you in New Orleans , Chef Mike and family. Your food is the best!
