"Picture a small diner with big leather booths serving bacon and eggs right alongside stew beef and oxtail—that’s essentially the deal at Belizean Paradise Cuisine. It’s possible you’ve never grabbed a meal at this Mid-City spot, since it’s tucked off of La Brea Avenue and closes at 3:30pm. The dining room is always calm, but know that the mixed bag of dishes on their menu are worth driving out of your way for. Their weekend-only breakfast menu in particular features a dizzying array of standouts, from meat pies and coconut tarts to cheesy garnaches and chicken tamales wrapped in banana leaves." - Nikko Duren

"Where else can you get fall-off-the-bone tender pigtails with split peas north of the 10? At Yvonne Myvette’s Belizean kitchen, there’s escabeche, a special, tart chicken, that goes into an vinegary onion soup topped with the chicken and hard boiled eggs. The whole thing is stewed in black recado, a spice paste, called chimole, that’s rare to enjoy outside South LA. Belize’s national filling dish, rice and beans, are cooked in coconut milk and spices, and come with standard stew chicken, or stew beef, not to mention several other proteins like fried fish." - Bill Esparza

So, this place was bought from another Belizean family... And I Miss Flackas and the Pariente service... The food was very good, and they were extremely friendly. These new belizean owners..whoever they are, and rude and and have NO customer service skills what so ever. The man that serviced me was rather offsetting, and I seemed as if he didn't even want to be there. I was asking him questions about the menu about the panadas that he had,his whole demeanor was as if he didn't have time to explain to me hurry up in order what you want so I gave him my card and he just passed me my car looking at another direction and telling me 15 to 20 minutes so I decided just to stand outside. As far as the food is concerned it's no good The Bryson beans were still white there was no coloring and had no taste no flavor the meat that they gave me I ordered stew beef very very little meat in the container and the pinatas were not good at all. I know not to go to this place ever again. There's much better places to go there's Tracy's there's Mars you have to drive a little bit further but if you want good quality Belizean food this would not be the place to go they're fooling you and the prices are way too high. But if you know Nothing about Belizean food or how the quality taste should be..this slop you will like. I found to have wasted my money on this food. Which I threw away🤢🤮. I o had my family members try it as well who are Belizean..they felt the same way. Our thoughts were how are they staying in business. As I stated before there are much better restaurants you can go to and get quality food and better tasting food. On a side note about their quality service there was a group of people before me that ordered a lot of food this man the same one that didn't have time to talk to me or explain anything to me he packed the bags so high he put the potato salad two containers of potato salad all the way at the top which wasn't even in the bag when he passed the bag to the man. The man was struggling to carry the bag while walking out the potato salad fell out the bag and on the floor the man didn't even offer to change out or give him a new one he just laughed and said oh be careful and have him napkin to clean up the mess. So go places where you're treated right and treated with respect for the money that you're spending there this is not the place.💀👎🏾

The explosion of flavors, oh my the Oxtails and the dark meat chicken rice beans and potatoe salad was more than I can explain or expected from this tiny little hole in the wall. I think I fell into a Caribbean comatose state and the dr was in the kitchen... I say yes fight the traffic and come see the world go by in this little place this the owner Kennrick calls home...

Love this place! Its local to me and always very vibrant. The food has NEVER been anything less than fresh and amazing. The panades are as authentic as your belizean grandmother making them. Authentic belizean food is harder to find on this side of town so this place is a gem! It's also ridiculously affordable. I try to stop by at least once a week just to please my taste buds.

Before the food, I must commend the service. They went above and beyond to correct the order. The food was excellent! The oxtail was tender, the rice and potato salad was on point! Y'all got a lifelong customer in me. Cheers!

Second time coming here from Colorado, wouldn’t choose any other Caribbean food restaurant. This place never disappoints I’ll continue to come back when visiting California. I got the Oxtail, amazing! Also tried the chicken and beef, very tender and delicious! Owner I believe, treated us with a bun that’s was delicious!

Came down to Caribbean Paradise to get the lunch special. One of the best restaurants in the city. I only review the spots that I like. This is a top one.

The service was great. They didn't have any seafood the day I went, so I ordered the oxtails (which was dinner only this was at 2 something on Monday). Okay no problem, I was hungry and wanted something delicious what I got was a huge plate of Rice and beans (best thing), plantains that were disgustingly hard, not fresh and not hot. I can tell they had been sitting out. The oxtails all 5 that was placed in a side dish was not what I was expecting, the flavor was off to me. It wasn't worth the $23 dollars I paid for it.
