18 Essential Restaurants to Savor in Savannah

"Bella’s Italian Cafe in Habersham Village is named after the owner’s Italian grandmother who was known for her manicotti and pasta fagiola in Brooklyn. Both dishes are on Bella’s menu now, and the family takes great pride in getting the recipe as close to hers as they can. Though popular with locals for takeout, especially pizza, be advised to eat in, so the little fried breadsticks served with dill-infused butter and marinara keep coming." - Elizabeth Bowers

Great fires of London! I can't believe Bella's Café is real! (Only people who have seen the Welsh show Fireman Sam will get that reference.) All joking aside, this is a really good place. The food is super expensive, even for a single person, but it's very much worth it. They seem to use either fresh tomatoes (when in season) or San Marzano canned tomatoes, which are the caviar of tomatoes, in their sauces, as well as fresh pasta. I definitely recommend this place if you have the money to go there.

A Hidden Italian Gem Worth the Hype! 🇮🇹🍷 Stopped by this charming Italian spot and let me just say—they understood the assignment. The place opens right at 5 PM, and there was already a line forming outside. That should've been my first clue that I was in for a treat. I started with the antipasto salad, and let me tell you, it stole the entire show. So good, I ordered another one to go—yes, it was that serious. The caprese was fresh and classic, and the bean and pasta soup—which I honestly didn’t expect much from—turned out to be one of the best surprises of the night. Warm, comforting, and packed with flavor. Now, let’s talk about the eggplant Parmesan. Listen... I’ve had my fair share over the years, and this was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly breaded, layered with rich sauce and cheese—it hit all the marks. My friend ordered the fettuccine with chicken, mushrooms, and spinach, and couldn’t stop raving about it. Rich, creamy, and comforting without being too heavy. The breadsticks deserve their own paragraph. These weren’t your average breadsticks—they were more like light, fluffy fried doughnuts served with herb butter and marinara. My only complaint? I wanted more of them. A lot more. To wash it all down, I sipped on strawberry and pineapple sangria—refreshing, fruity, and not too sweet. I ordered a half pitcher and drank 2 glasses. And I more left over. So, they packed the rest to go 🥂 By 5:44 PM, we had our full meal in front of us. The service was unbelievably fast, and every server we encountered was warm, helpful, and attentive. ⭐️ 10/10. Highly recommend. Come hungry and maybe bring a to-go box—you’re going to need it.

Perfect Birthday Celebration Dinner. Service was awesome, went above and beyond. Server took a Polaroid photo and provided a birthday card with the photo of my sparkling Tiramisu! Freshness and finesse of culinary perfection! Breadsticks are immaculate!

Google
Delicious and wonderful. The food is incredibly good the bread comes out fresh from the oven. Highly recommend this place, but it is dimly lit at night, so be ready to use your phone to read the menu (but it’s good date-night lighting).

Google
Food was delicious.. a little on the pricier side for what you get but nonetheless good. Now service - HORRIBLE. Worst I’ve had in a while. We had a party of 9 and had a reservation. Some of our party was sat so we asked the host where they were and was met with a rude attitude “I’m not sure there’s a lot of parties and more I need to seat so please move aside” So we went and found our party. I understand it was busy and it’s a small space at the host stand so we gave them grace and brushed the interaction off. Then our server was not friendly or warm but short, angry, and sometimes flustered. We would say thank you and please when interacting and she wouldn’t respond or just “mhm”. No refills, smug looks, no pre-bussing so we sat in a mess the entire time. It just made everything uncomfortable and the service honestly ruined the celebration dinner. Again, food was good but not good enough to endure the prices and bad service. Would return on a slower night and with less people to see if they can accommodate and if it was maybe just an off night.

My finance and I wanted to try a local Italian restaurant and decided to try this based on the reviews. Our experience was not great. Service was the best thing we had, the food was not good and the starting bread they give you was the best thing we ate. Here is the break down. When we first walked in the place smelt bad. It was a musty smell but the booths looked old so it could have been from that but over all not pleasant. We started off with a couple of sprites and the sprite tasted terrible so I ended up switching to water. The complementary bread was good and they serve with marinara sauce which was tasty and a garlic herb butter which was good as well. Both of our appetizers were tomato cream soup and this where things started to go south. Even though the soup was hot the taste was ok. It just didn’t taste that good and we both did not finish the soup. Now onto our main dishes. My fiancé got fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and I got Cannelloni which was stuffed with a few different cheeses and surrounded by fettuccine sauce. The fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp to me tasted like it was straight from a microwave dinner. Sauce was a little watery and barely had flavor. We do not know if the shrimp was supposed to be cooked or not but if it was it had a fishy taste to it as if it was undercooked. Now the Cannelloni was terrible. The fettuccine sauce that the dish was swimming in was not flavorful and the ricotta cheese inside tasted old/not fresh. It seemed like this was frozen and then reheated and it was watery and a little sour. I did not touch it after 2 bites. Maybe our experience tonight was different or something was going on but it really was a big disappointment. From our experience I suggest not going here or maybe try something else like a pizza.

Google
We had the best Italian food in my life here. They 100% live up to their awards, and are worth the trip here. I had the cannelloni and my friend had the chicken parmesan with the bread sticks, side salad, and ended with the tiramisu. We were in heaven the entire time! Our servers name was Kevin, and he was so kind and patient even during a busy dinner service. Would recommend him if you go!

Google
Visiting Savannah, we had ‘tourist’ Italian food one night downtown, regretted it, and found Bella’s to make up for it. Boy did it! The only downside to Bella’s is that they do not have a full bar; just wine and beer. The food was excellent. Our server made us feel welcomed. We will definitely go back!

Steve D.

Yelp
Food was ok but the service lack something to be desired. Restaurant was clean and welcoming.

Yelp
Us 4, my Mom (93), her friend (82), my Wife (65), and I (68), visited Bella's yesterday, 5/6/2024, at 6 PM to celebrate an early Mother's Day. Mom's usual go-to is Cary Hilliard's on Skidaway. Every time we visit from our home in Rock Hill, SC we always get takeout from Hilliards. For a change i thought we'd go to Bella's. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Mom ordered the Lemon Rosemary Roast Chicken 1/4 dark. She loved how tender and juicy the chicken was and finished her dish completely, something she rarely does. My wife and Mom's friend had the eggplant parmesan leaving only a little sauce on their plates. This is also unusual as my petite Wife is normally very light diner (even more-so since she'd had one breadstick, butter, & salad before the eggplant was served). I had the Manicotti with a glass of Lambrusco. After recently re-watching an episode of the Soprano's, I just had to try the manicotti They have it in almost every episode when eating. Ha ha. Bella's food is no joke however. It was beyond delicious. The noodles in the baked manicotti had just the right crispness on the edges. The combination of the 3 creamy cheeses and red sauce was heavenly. It's no mystery why they've been in business for 30+ years. Space and time won't permit me to describe how good the Limoncello Cake was for dessert. Kevin, our kind server, really made our experience perfect. He was patient, attentive, and helpful to all of us seniors. A real pro among pros. Thank you all (Hostess, Kevin, and, Kitchen) for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
The food was not what I remembered. Everything was just off. Seasoning was either over or under seasoned. Service was good but no longer my favorite Italian spot in Savanah.

Christy W.

Yelp
Got a cheese pizza, added pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra cheese along with fresh mozzarella. This is what we received after paying 44 for a pizza. They gave me a 15 dollar gift certificate to make up for it. Horrible

Yelp
Great little restaurant with excellent Italian food. I didn't love the breadsticks but everyone else in our party of nine definitely did! Service was friendly and fast. I don't know what the salad dressing was but it was SO good...I would have bought a bottle to take home. Most of us enjoyed the chicken Parmesan. I had the eggplant parm. Two had the tortellini and there was nothing left in their dish! Sadly no one wanted dessert so I can't speak to that. The side dishes of pasta with the chicken and eggplant were quite small and nothing special. Honestly not even necessary as the main entrees were so good! Warning that parking is quite a challenge....side street parking is the only option if you don't get lucky with a spot in front. We will definitely return when we are back in Savannah.

Yelp
Plenty of Parking across the street. Great food Great sangria Amazing service Nice atmosphere One of my favs!

Yelp
The chicken parm and my gfs Alfredo pasta was delicious. Our server Kevin was amazing and funny. Will def go back. Great wine as well.

Yelp
First-time customer looking for a decent pizza (domiciled in New England living part of the year in Savannah). First of all, the overhead lighting consisted of spot lights directed in the faces of customers. Group of four seated next to me moved tables because the light was directly in one couple's eyes. Ordered a pepperoni pizza with a small house salad. Lettuce was brown .....didn't expect much in terms of the pizza (tough to find good pizza south of the Mason-Dixon line) but their version really was not good. Proprietors obviously don't know that pizza is not made with spaghetti sauce. Crust was ok but nothing special. Pepperoni topping was ample and standard. Waitress was very attentive. Place was busy on a Tuesday night in early March. Maybe their Italian dishes are tasty but their pizza certainly isn't.

Yelp
The service was great and fast. Restaurant overall has a great ambience. The Alfredo is amazing and very creamy. The salad is also very refreshing. We were not impressed with the bean soup or lasagna however. Portions are big and leave you w enough to take home!

Jenn S.

Yelp
service is awful. Manager is rude. With so many amazing options in Savannah, do not waste your time with Bella's. Terrible

Yelp
Delicious! Great Service! Popular place, glad we got there when they opened for dinner.

Yelp
This family owned business is one of the best Italian places I have eaten. Homemade recipes by the owners grandmother. These delicious recipes have been used for decades! That's how you know the food here is fantastic! My husband and I went on our anniversary weekend and decided to order too much food, lol! But absolutely percent worth it! Everything we had was superb! We ordered a sampler appetizer, eggplant parmesan, steak, salad, soup, and sangria. And can't forget the bread they served when we first arrived. The sauce served with bread fully of chunky juicy tomatoes! And not to mention the bread itself, such soft pillowy cloud like fluff. The main meals so very delightful! Such blissful satisfying flavors all on one bite! Savoring every moment while taking bite after bite! Never getting tired of the taste of Italy. What a satisfying dinner it was. Unfortunately, we were unable to finish all the food we ordered but that just ment we got to have seconds when we got home. I can not wait to return to Savannah, Georgia to go to my favorite Italian place there. What's 4 hrs?! Definitely worth the 4 hour trip for excellent food.

Robert R.

Yelp
Stumbled on this out of the way restaurant and it did not disappoint. I had the baked ziti special and my wife had the baked eggplant. Both dishes were excellent. Almost forgot to mention, the meal started out with awesome breadsticks that were served with a nice garlic butter and an and awesome marinara sauce.

Erin W.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We got seated right away at dinner which seemed impossible. Breadsticks were amazing and never ending! Everything we ordered was perfect and service was prompt. Must visit spot!

Yelp
Wonderful Italian restaurant in Savannah. Second visit. Opens at 5. We were first table but restaurant filled fast. Served delicious Italian bread rolls which were bite-size served with garlic butter and two marinara sauces. They were warm and delicious. Our waitress took our drink order immediately and we ordered a bottle of Chianti. It was very good. We were also served ice water as our order was taken within a few minutes of sitting. There were five of us and we ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich, Italian sausage sandwich, the meatball sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine. The meatballs were so tender absolutely delicious. The chicken parmesan was very flavorful as for the pastas. We also enjoyed side salads with a Italian vinaigrette salad dressing and one order of french fries. The bread on the sandwiches was toasted perfectly soft on the inside nice crusty exterior. For dessert we had the limoncello cake with blueberry sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious and definitely will return to this establishment.

Yelp
We had made a reservation at the Habersham location in Savannah on January 10, 2024. The reservation was made earlier in the day for a party of 25 after my father's funeral earlier in the day. We were told we could be accommodated with two tables next to each other. When we arrived we were told that the tables were separated by an adjoining wall. The restaurant was pretty empty but we were refused our request for a seating adjustment and told to sit down so a beverage order could be taken. We asked again for a seating arrangement and were then refused service in its entirety and asked to leave the restaurant. As we left the restaurant, admittedly angry from the horrible treatment, we were treated to rude comments from either the management or seating hostess. My immediate family had enjoyed Bella's on multiple occasions and it was our favorite Italian restaurant in Savannah. I can't describe the feelings of disappointment regarding the inexcusable behavior expressed by Bella's. I hope that if they go to a restaurant after they experience a family trauma they are met with basic human courtesy and respect.....but they don't deserve it.

Yelp
I have heard alot of good things about this place and it did not disappoint. I had the clams with angel hair and white sauce and my guest had the lasagna. They were both delish. We also got a slice of chocolate cake to go and it was incredible. Highly recommend. there was a bit of a wait to get in but it was worth it.

Linda E.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant on my recent visit! The food was amazing and the complimentary bread was to die for! The service was excellent and the dinner experience was fun and very enjoyable! I will definitely be back!

Julie W.

Yelp
Ambiance was relaxed although very distracting with everyone walking through the middle of the restaurant to pick up pizza orders to go, not a big deal but just distracting. food wise, i've had better italian at Olive Garden (the 2 times i had to go there)(not by choice), save ya pennies and make slag bowl at the house. service was good. won't be going again or recommending to anyone.

Yelp
Have wanted to try this locale for a while now and finally went yesterday. I will say this, get there early or prepare for a wait. Got there right when they opened and was able to get sat, but watched the line grow and grow for people waiting to dine. It was a great thing and shows the draw this place has. Their service is wonderful and the food is very flavorful and encompasses all tastes for Italian foods. We got their antipasto salad appetizer and if you get it, do not get salads with your main course meals. It won't be needed as that appetizer salad is very filling and tasty. I got their spaghetti with clams in a red sauce and it was very delicious. We had their pizza with just pepperoni and it was thin crust and definitely well made. Also had their seafood wine/Alfredo linguine dish and the amount of seafood (shrimp and scallops) was well proportioned. It was a great meal. If you get the chance to dine here you will not regret it at all.

Yelp
Excellent lasagna and salad. Service was Amazing! Kevin, our server was a delight! Atmosphere was nice and relaxing! I'm from California and will definitely be back to Bella's.

Robert O.

Yelp
Excellent as always. Great service, great bread w tomato sauce, sweet sausage & wine list. What more do you need

Stacie S.

Yelp
The owner is the most rude and disrespectful person I've ever encountered at a restaurant. I'd never recommend anyone coming here for any reason. We made a reservation for 25 people after a funeral and were denied service because she refused to sit us together in one room when there was ample space to accommodate us.
google avatar

Carlo B.

Yelp
Bella's is a nice little Italian Restaurant with big flavor. From the salad with homemade creamy Italian dressing to the baked ravioli and lasagna you will not be disappointed. We're heading back for the pizza that looked awesome!

Yelp
Our favorite Italian restaurant in town. We come here several times a month and our go to orders are the spaghetti and meatball for me and the chicken Parmesan for my husband. They have the absolute best bread and marinara. I can bathe in that stuff. Give it a try :) oh, Cameron is our go to server. She is just a ray of sunshine and just the sweetest server we've ever met.

Mary Ellen J.

Yelp
A few years, my family went to Bealla's around the holidays to eat. When the entrees were being served, my husband's plate fell on the floor. After 20 minutes or so, we called the owner over And told him that he would need to wait because others needed to be served first. His dinner arrived but everyone else's meals were finished. We vowed never to go again but family friends love that place so we gave it one more try. My family and out of town guests (7 in total) went to Bella's on a few weeks ago. The server accidentally lost control of her tray of 5 red wines, which dumped on my husband, plus a friend seated to the left of him and all over the table/floor. Although they mopped up, my husband was covered with sticky wine and returned home to shower and change and my daughter went to her house to get our friend a new top as her's was covered with wine splotches everywhere. The manager arrived sometime later, shared they'd cover the dry cleaning (they were heading home the next day). then a bottle of Oxyclean was placed on the table to spray the top then and there. So after many fits and starts, everyone returned, calm was restored and food arrived. the food was basic at best. The bill was presented without any mention of the chaos from the wine spillage or offered a discount for completely disrupting our visit. They eventually took off a meal after having to ask and remind them of the issue. Bella's is truly off our list and there are many other Savannah places that would like to serve us as valued customers and we're willing to spend our money there.i

Yelp
Some of THE most awful excuse for Italian food Ever! I ordered eggplant parm to go. I grew up with really great Italian food up north. Soooo disappointed when i got it home. one slice of eggplant, very little cheese which was in a clump, and a big mess of a very chunky, foul tasting sauce. For my side I asked for spaghetti with alfredo and it was tasteless with over cooked spaghetti. the bread sticks also had very taste and includes some sort of margarine-oil mixture for a spread. I will never have food from there again! I just can't see why they are always so busy.
google avatar

Bess B.

Yelp
Bella's is a Savannah staple - we always order the chicken Parmesan and love the breadsticks. I also love that the main dishes come with a salad and side of pasta. All of their wine is also very reasonably priced!
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
I was craving some dessert so while googling some options I stumbled on this restaurant/cafe, seeing they had what I was looking for. TIRAMISU. This was one of the best I've tried, perfectly balanced. Loved loved loved! CHOCOLATE CAKE. Moist and not over the top sweet. Good bread to cream ratio! Loved it as well.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
Food has always been amazing but unfortunately, new management isn't running the business as it was ran in years past. Hostess was extremely unprofessional. Then after mentioning her being very rude, she comes back to inform our table that she happens to be the general manager. I hate to see what her mother worked so hard for, being run in such a manner. My entree was shrimp scampi. It was served with ziti and marinara. I did not complain about it, but asked for angel hair. Things just went downhill from there.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Such a great find in Habersham Village! Delicious Italian food and wonderful service made our first time here so enjoyable. We shared their red sangria with an order of fried ravioli and incredible bread sticks. Dinners include a small salad with a tasty Italian vinaigrette dressing. For dinner, I had a steak entree with portobello mushrooms and he had their renowned baked ziti with sausage. Good solid food, a nice atmosphere and attentive service. We will be back!!!
google avatar

Esmeralda A.

Yelp
The ambiance gave it a late 90s early 00's vibes. Which was pretty fun. Our server was very sweet! The food however did not meet expectations. Price point was too high for the quality and portions of the food. Nothing special about it. 22$+ for a small bowl of below average tasting pastas. Wouldn't go here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Had reservations for 6 people at 8:00 pm. Seated in a room with a kids birthday part in progress. Bread sticks (if that 's what they were) were soft amd mushy. Or server could not remember what kind of beer they have . There were only 3 kinds. Salad was DREANCHED in dressing on soft wilted lettuce. Wife's Eggplant Parm was tasty but covered with too much sauce and cheese. My stuffed Spinach and Artichoke Shells had no artichokes that I could find. At about 11:00 pm we noticed that the restaurant was closed . Our server must have wanted to leave ASAP because we were never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Then the tab arrived. Pretty rude we thought. We won't be going back. I was disappointed especially after all the good reviews I've read.

Pete C.

Yelp
Great ambiance, food, and service all around. My wife and I both throughly enjoyed our date night here.

Marjorie B.

Yelp
We made a special trip to Savannah to try out some of the Italian restaurants! Bella's by far outshined the other restaurants! We had the BEST waitress in the place who recommended the super Tuscan bottle of wine. Angie was amazing and her recommendation was fabulous. The dinner special (seafood pasta) was perfect and we topped it off with Tiramisu. The ambiance was great! If this is the type of service and food to expect, I would recommend to all! Ask for Angie! She is great!

Alan P.

Yelp
Positive: Wait staff was phenomenal, especially considering they have to deal with the management full time. Not so bad: Food wasn't spectacular but it always adequate. Negative: Management oils use some management classes as well as anger management classes.

jim s.

Yelp
The very good food. Product quality is stellar. Excellent Italian Cafe. Some things a little pricey but great special occasions.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pizza, good lasagne, so-so spaghetti. Always crowded and wait staff seems harried. They are in a great spot and are an asset to Ardsley Park area.
google avatar

Alfonso M.

Yelp
Ordered eggplant parmigiana. It comes with house salad and ziti pastA in marinara sauce. Food are pretty good. They also serve a complimentary bread sticks and also very good. Excellent service from staff.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Delicious. Not a large place, but comfy atmosphere that feels like a local establishment, not a sterile Italian chain. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. WHATS GOOD (on our first visit) - Bread sticks where delicious. They are warm, soft, and a little greasy, tasting like a donut without sugar. - Cannelloni - Holy Cheeses! Just say that out loud and people will understand what makes it good! Large tubular noodles filled with cheese, spinach and pancetta, and then covered in a cheese sauce. While it is rich in white cheese, the type of cheese is not overpowering in richness. My only complaint is the pancetta was sparse and really made the dish. TIPS - Kids menu didn't list Fettuccine Alfredo but they offered it when asked. May be able to ask for other menu options as well. - Tomato Cream Soup was just ok

Yelp
Simple. Elegant. We'll executed. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Nothing too flashy, but it covers all of the bases for an Italian restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is HORRIBLY inconsistent with their masking policy. I counted 20+ patrons (as evidenced in the photographs) and 2 employees without masks. I have a medical condition that makes it difficult to wear a mask but I try to do so when I need to. I did not mind wearing one in the restaurant but half of the other patrons that were NOT seated and walking around and conversing in the restaurant did not have them on so I did not put one on. The hostess told me to put one on which I didn't mind doing but I simply asking why she was singling me out when literally several other people were loitering next to us without them on. She did not reply about the legitimately 10 other patrons that I had seen without masks on at this point. I told her I had a medical condition which she proceeded to ask me what it was which wasn't any of her business and then mock. She was incredibly rude and singled me out and left me shaking with how taken aback I was from our interaction. She told me I could eat somewhere else and honestly I would have taken my business elsewhere if I had not with two friends that wanted to eat there. The server was nice but I feel bad for her having to work under such a cruel woman. The unmasked man pictured in one of the photographs spoke to the woman who chewed me out about the mask and she said nothing to him and he was allowed to walk around the restaurant maskless. I genuinely understand if the restaurant wants to have a mask policy that is fine I get it. Just be consistent and make everyone wear a mask or none at all because not saying anything to some people and be horribly aggressive to others doesn't do anything at all. Consistency is key honestly. If the hostess had asked me nicely to put on the mask I would not have minded but she was just very rude about it. And also if she had made the other patrons comply as well instead of singling me out. Like she was chit chatting with one maskless guest at the back counter after yelling at me. It is just hypocritical and makes absolutely no sense at all. People have invisible disabilities genuinely and not being kind to people gets you no where. If she had just said I'm sorry about your medical condition but it's restaurant policy would you please mind wearing it for a couple minutes until you sit down we would not have an issue genuinely. Also if she could answer why they allow some maskless patrons and some people have to wear masks. What arbitrary system decides who wears masks and who doesn't?! It wasn't even the mask but the way I was treated honestly. Like even though I have a diagnosed mental health medical condition I am compliant with mask guidelines at dr.'s offices, planes and many other places. And I would have been kindly compliant here if she had been nice and understanding. People have invisible health conditions such as ptsd, claustrophobia, being survivors of severe trauma and rape that make such situations very triggering and difficult. It is not kind to make fun of people with visible or invisible disabilities. You never know what people are going through and a little kindness and consistency with the masking policy would have changed this whole situation. That being said the server was nice and my friends enjoyed their food. I was unable to eat my food since I was so deeply triggered by this horrible woman. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone simply for the fact for how cruel this lady was. I hope other patrons have a better experience than I did and this woman is able to become a kinder more understanding person. ADDENDUM: This is not a ridiculous review. You are cruel hypocrite who makes arbitrary rules that some customers have to follow and others you allow to do whatever they like. You are inconsistent business owner and rude human being.

Yelp
Fantastic food! The breadsticks and herb butter are great. The pitcher of sangria was delicious I had the angelhair and scallops and shrimp and it was very good. The scallops were probably cheap bay scallops but the shrimp was great! We had cake for dessert and it was a crowd pleaser.

Yelp
Long review !!! It's really hard to rate Bella's correctly because of the entire experience .....our server Sabrina was excellent - she got everything right and was kind and attentive . My food was really good and came out hot ! I was with a party of 6 friends celebrating a friends birthday! I am actually still trying to recover from the shock of the treatment my friends and I experienced from the hostess - who I later found out was the General Manager. She gave me her card so it's public knowledge that the GM is Reina Shanks. She did tell me she was the owner also but I am not sure that is correct. My friend and I arrived about 6pm or a little after and asked for a table of 6 and that we would like to sit and get an appetizer and glass of wine . Reina said we needed to wait until the "majority" of our party was there. No problem . Shortly after two other friends arrived so I told her the majority was there and then she said the "complete" party had to be there.....I also told her I found out we had a reservation at 630pm and she said that she would seat us when we were all there at 630pm. Before the last two friends arrived a party of 2 people asked for a table and said their other friends would join soon - Reina showed them to a table. I didn't say a word . Then a party of 10 arrived with only a few there and she sat them .....now I am a little puzzled . I said Ma'am - neither of those tables had all their party here yet you sat them but won't seat us ? She abruptly said - I'm not gonna do this - this is not a competition. I am thinking - Not sure what that meant but I'm just gonna let it go. Once we were all there I told her and she said she would seat us . On the way to seat us I've never seen someone so rude through a smile....she said very sarcastically- are you having a great week ? I said I sure am - and just "let it go". I Didn't mention the rude GM again at the table and enjoyed our dinner - sang with one of the neighboring tables as they were celebrating a birthday too ! Again , SABRINA was excellent ! The bills come and we are all paying and on the bottom of the receipt it ask for a review on service and food and atmosphere and I said all was great but please see my note on the back and there I explained what happened at the beginning of the night . Within just a few minutes Reina came over with my receipt in hand and said - who wrote this ? I said I wrote it. She came right by my chair and asked me what I was trying to accomplish? I said well I wasn't trying to cause a scene or call anyone out but I wanted to let someone know how we were treated . My friend said - I'm not trying to get in the middle but ma'am you are being very aggressive and rude. My other friends let her know how rude she had been as they were finishing paying their bill. I said again - I wasn't trying to cause a scene but you are and then she YELLED at all of us to get out ! I said excuse me - she said loudly - get out ! I said ok - I haven't paid my bill but I can leave - she said you will pay your bill and I said yes I would cause Sabrina was great and none of this was her fault. I told Reina I would leave a lovely review and she said - you are going to threaten me ? Nope - just gonna leave a review. Then she walked off for a moment to tell customers at another table what was going on - as she pointed at us. My friends then walked out ( still dumbfounded) while I was waiting on my card and Reina made sure to walk me out . As I was leaving she gave me her GM card and I asked for the owners name and she said she was the owner. She then said - I hope you have a better life - and I said I have a great life - and I hope you get better and find another business to be in cause you don't need to be in the service business . I have never been treated so poorly when I am the one paying !! I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone in a restaurant. I have never had someone treat myself and friends like "outsiders" in a restaurant in Savannah. Clearly this place caters to many locals and while I used to eat here frequently when I lived in Savannah - ( I live in Rincon ) I don't as much anymore because of the location. This is a tough one for me - I've always loved Bella's but I won't allow someone to treat me and my friends as this GM did. Just really disappointed and shocked but kudos to Sabrina and the kitchen staff who prepared the food ! This happened on 3-20-23.

Yelp
This was a good local Italian restaurant.....with a neighborhood vibe. It's small and has decent to good Italian food. Service is good and menu selections are varied. The restaurant is somewhat crowded at dinner hours. Reservations are a must. The owner is usually present and makes sure everyone is attended to; however, she never smiles or greets people. Makes me wonder why she is so cranky looking. I thought that she would be better out of sight.

Yelp
Alrighty y'all listen up. 1. This is hands down the best Italian place I've ever been to in the United States. 2. There are no reservations so just walk up and they will take your name outside. 3. It is a very small restaurant and they can only seat a party of 4 at any given time. ( so a party of 8 will be split 4 and 4 // and a party of 6 will be split 4 and 2 or 3 and 3). 4. The waiters/waitresses will come around to each table. You DO NOT have one single waiter they are all there to help you and they will get you what you want. 5. You can have any pasta type of any kind with whatever dish you desire. So if you want the Chicken Marsala but want Linguini instead of angel hair you can do that. I've been coming here for the past year at least once a month and they have NEVER let me down.

Yelp
Food was great but they stole my sunglasses I accidentally left at my table. This business is not trustworthy and I regret leaving a tip.
