Belly Fish Coral Gables - Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"Even though Belly Fish operates with the efficiency of a good little Roomba and does a ton of takeout and delivery, it’s still a welcoming place to sit and eat good sushi. There’s plenty of comfortable banquette seating, warm lighting throughout the sunny restaurant, and service is friendly. We like the combinations here, like the belly combo. It comes with six nigiri: three salmon (one regular, one torched, and one salmon belly), plus a tuna, hamachi, and torched hamachi with a roll of your choice for $28. The fish has great texture and the sushi rice is sticky (but not cold or dry). You can also order and pay for everything without ever speaking to a human thanks to the QR code on the table. We’ve ordered delivery from here before, and it was solid. But it’s much better fresh." - Virginia Otazo

Belly Fish Debuts First Brick-and-Mortar Location in Miami | Eater Miami

"I visited the new Coral Gables outpost of Belly Fish, which opened its first brick-and-mortar location on July 20 after growing from a delivery kitchen in Aventura during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanding to three delivery and takeout locations across South Florida. The space has a simple, clean look meant to let the food take center stage; the menu features a variety of nigiri, maki, rotating specials, and their popular handrolls, which are prepared with a disposable film between the seaweed and rice to maintain crispness. Notable dishes include a spicy hamachi tostada topped with yuzu-kosho aioli and Japanese hamachi and an Australian Wagyu Dragon Roll served with house wagyu jus. For omakase lovers there’s an “Omakase Combo” for $49.95 that includes ten pieces of nigiri and a choice of roll, and lunch specials like a sushi-and-tostada combo for $21.95 are geared toward the large midday crowd. Co-founder and chef Rodrigo Bravo, who has worked alongside Joan Roca and Masaharu Morimoto, leads the kitchen. Belly Fish Coral Gables is open for lunch and dinner daily." - Olee Fowler

5 stars Had an awesome lunch at Belly Fish Sushi. The vibe was super chill, music was on point, and the food was legit. I went with the Belly Combo and it totally hit the spot—fresh and super satisfying. Big shoutout to Juan for being super friendly and making the whole experience even better. Finished things off with a sweet little dessert that was the perfect way to wrap it up. Definitely coming back!

Google
Went for the miami spice menu with friends. Total with tax and tip I spent about $50ish? To start, the tostada with scallops was amazing. Seasoned well with tons of flavor. The main entree was a bowl with slices of fish, sushi rice, edamame, avocado etc. it tasted alright but the fish didn’t smell great… definitely was not super fresh. The cheesecake was good but was store bought quality. Overall an ok experience but don’t think I’d ever go back… I feel like other restaurants deliver a much better experience and quality food for a lower price.

Google
We went to the restaurant for Miami Spice and I really enjoyed the whole experience. The food was very tasty. Our server, Manuela, gave us good recommendations on what to try. Overall, they were very accommodating to our needs and the vibe was excellent. I'll definitely come back again.

Google
The food was amazing, service was great. Juan served us and he was very helpful. We went for the Miami Spice deal and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend!

Google
Went for Miami Spice dinner. The food was fine. Fish was super fresh. Service was so bad. Be careful with up charges that they don’t disclose on the MS menu too.

Google
What a cute little spot. The vibe was super chill and the fish was very fresh. We got the omakase and handroll lux along with each crispy rice flavor. Highly recommend if your looking for a casual sushi date.

Google
A nice small restaurant with great food and excellent service. The happy hour menu is just as delicious as the regular dishes, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. If you're planning to visit and can't find a street parking, I recommend parking in the Milams Garage—be sure to park on the 4th floor or higher, as the lower levels are reserved for the Milams store.

Google
Delicious lunch here. I got the two roll combo, which was a spicy salmon and spicy tuna roll. Very fresh fish, tasted so good. Juan was super kind and attentive as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It's a little confusing when you walk in and I've been here before. I had to go to the counter which has a computer but no person. The wall Behind this counter has a hole in it where a window might be. That is where you see an employee. I asked her if I should seat myself; the dining area is off to the left. Sat ourselves and waited a few minutes for server. Started off with the Lychee Nigori sake, a milky nigiri served cold. A bit sweeter than I like my drinks but nice to sip on. We got here right before 2:00 when the lunch special ends so we were able to get lunch special. I ordered the ceviche and tostada $22 I ended up getting the scallop ceviche which raised the price of my lunch special to $27. Great price for what I got. The scallop ceviche was different than any ceviche I've ever had. If it was phenomenal!! The scallops were cut into little squares, avocado mixed with micro greens, tiny crunchie pieces, pomegranates that added the perfect burst of flavor and fun. Love how the yuzu ponzu sauce was poured onto the ceviche in front of me; perfection. Ceviche is served with a bowl of fresh tostadas with just the right amount of crunch. I had the tuna tostada with the ceviche. Second time I order it so it's good!

Yelp
Was feeling FOMO over this place so I made my way to coral gables with my bf to give it a try. I attached a picture of our receipt with everything we ordered. For the price... the sushi was not it. Everything was quarter sized. Flavor was nonexistent. All 3 rolls we ordered tasted the same, mind you one of them was wagyu steak - literally tasted like a crab roll. Their chipotle ponzu sauce tasted like nickels (best way to describe it tbh). I attached a picture with 2 little pieces of sushi - one of them is the Canadian snow crab roll ($16) , the other one is the Spicy Canadian snow crab roll ($14). They advertise the Canadian snow crab roll has double the portion of snow crab for those who love snow crab however, both of these had the same portion lol..... and just overall, I'm disappointed. I'm only giving them 2 stars because the order was ready by the time I arrived, and they packed it correctly. That deserves 2 stars right? But the food, 0 stars.

Yelp
I have been to this place a few times and something that stays constant is the ease and convenience factor while having many options for hand rolls, sushi, nigiri etc. You are able to easily order on your phone when sitting down and the food comes out pretty quickly. Overall the service is very quick and the staff is great. For food I personally am a fan of their handrolls. While I wish there were more options for diverse rolls the options they have are still good and reliable. Overall this is a great spot that I recommend stopping by to try.

Yelp
Bellyfish is hands down one of my favorite sushi spots in Miami! The sushi here is always incredibly fresh and flavorful. I usually go for the Salmon Lovers platter and sometimes add a salmon avocado or tuna avocado roll--everything is consistently delicious. The service is also very fast. Their edamame is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the miso soup is comforting and full of flavor. Whether I'm dining in at the cozy restaurant or getting it delivered, the quality is always top-notch. If you're a sushi lover in Miami, Bellyfish is a must-try!

Yelp
First of all I want to give a shoutout to the staff covering tonight's shift (01.07.24) even though we walked in a little late the attention was fabulous. Thank you to our kind waitress. We love the food here, it's so fresh, not over complicated, flavorful, and respectful each ingredient. We kept ordering take out, but today, we finally dined in and the food was just as good. I recommend trying the Japanese beers they serve (besides Sapporo), I had never seen them before in Miami and was pleasantly surprised. This is a great place for a casual date night or a fun bite. The ambiance favors conversation although we came later in a weekday. We will definitely be back for more delicious sushi.

Yelp
I had major FOMO, i felt like the only person who had not tried Belly Fish, I finally went! Yes! I easily placed my order online for pick-up, I arrived on time and my order was ready! Parking is NOT easy in this area... very limited street parking, you might have to walk a bit.. I ordered the following: Hamachi truffle crudo- spectacular! Crispy rice with spicy hamachi- not spicy at all, they place a mini jalapeno slice on the top. Shrimp tempura roll- avocado was super fresh Torched salmon roll- my favorite Premium Nigiri Combo box- with a spicy salmon roll. Every single piece was beautifully packaged & definitely fresh. I would try it again, im curious about the tostadas, spicy tuna roll, and other combos listed on menu. My only observation would be that the portions are tiny. If you are starving and need a hearty meal- this is not the place. It is very pretty, tasty, fresh sushi, in tiny-bit-polly-pocket-mini- bite -size-portions. I do love the packaging & branding, it's definitely beautiful, makes take out presentable & very well thought of.

Yelp
10/10 recommend. This is fusion food done right. The flavors dance together in your mouth like beautiful dance. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable, explaining the different dishes. I had the tuna tostada and a hand roll with the homemade limeade and the mascarpone cheesecake for dessert. Ugh! My mouth is watering just recalling each item of the meal. This is a nice place for date night, catch up with friends or just have a little "me" time. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Ordered delivery, which was delivered warm ...driver didn't have a cooler Pretty and tasted good even though warm Disappointed when i asked for extra wasabi and didn't get any ...plus no soy sauce Would try again

Yelp
Truth be told, I am obsessed with Belly Fish. They recently opened a brick and mortar location in the Gables near the new Milam on US one and it is fabulous. I'm always looking for a new spot to grab sushi and Belly Fish has answered all my prayers, including my new favorite place to get hand rolls. What I loved about Belly Fish when I ordered from Uber Eats was how fresh the fish was and the variety of affordable combos they had to offer. What I love about Belly Fish IRL - the menu seems to be a bit bigger, you can enjoy a variety of amazing eats, and the quality is still there. I highly recommend the hand rolls. They come served with removable plastic wrap to preserve the freshness of the seaweed. Have you ever had a handroll where the seaweed was a bit chewy? That's because if you don't eat them right away, the seaweed can lose its freshness. Not at Belly Fish tho, they figured the art of freshness out perfectly! I love that they have so many combos to choose from - from hand roll samplers, to sushi combos its the perfect menu for the indecisive eater that wants to try it all (aka me). The Nigri is also delicious. One of the most unique things they offer are tostadas. This is made with the same fresh fish that they use for the sushi, but gives it a little bit of Latin flare. You must try the snow crab tostada - it is one of my favorites along with the hamachi. They also offer some refreshing lemonades. My favorite has been the raspberry. I have been to this location three times in the last two weeks to give you an idea of how obsessed I am. Service is friendly and they are always down to help with ordering ideas. This spot is also amazing for a group - since they have an ordering system from the phone where you can start group orders with ease. PSA parking can be a bit tricky. There is street parking, including curbside pickup if you're doing takeout, but regular street parking is limited. HOWEVER, you can park in the garage that is part of the Milam's building starting on the 4th floor and it is pay by phone. Welcome to the Gables, Belly Fish. I love you.

Yelp
I've ordered here twice already and each time, I've become more and more obsessed with Belly Fish. To me, this spot is perfect to indulge in excellent sushi (nigiri, hand rolls, maki etc.) while being at the comfort of your home. Their fish is always incredibly good, and the rolls are never overpowering, everything I order is rather simple yet filled with flavor and so delicious. My favorites are the; premium nigiri box, scallop nigiri, spicy salmon roll, and the hamachi roll -- wow, honestly the definition of a 5 star take-out spot!

Yelp
First off, love anywhere that's super-accessible by public transport - this Belly Fish location was less than a 5 min walk from the Douglas Road metro stop! Super easy to get to coming from Brickell. The atmosphere was clean, bright and friendly but still super inviting. Loved all the wooden accents and the pillows they had on the bench seating was a nice touch. Manuela was super friendly and walked me through the menu. She was very helpful to answer our questions and checked in on us, very friendly service! We were started off with some complimentary pickles, which were so yummy and a nice palate cleanser. I had their homemade limeade, which was also a nice palate cleanser! Very tart but so refreshing. I had the bowl + hand roll combo. The nori in the hand rolls was tasty and crunchy, the signs of a quality handroll. The bowl was a great portion with super fresh ingredients, lettuce was crispy and fresh so you know their ingredients haven't been sitting. My husband had the belly combo and a few pieces of crispy rice, which were delicious. For dessert, we had the matcha rice crispie and the cheesecake. I was skeptical of the cheesecake at first because it kind of looked mass produced from the picture, so I was wondering about the quality. But when they mentioned it had a homemade raspberry sauce, I was convinced and had no regrets - so good! The homemade rice crispy also was amazing. I'm not usually a matcha fan, but the flavor was nice and light and it was a good consistency. Definitely recommend Belly Fish and will be back!

Yelp
Love Belly Fish! I ordered from here once and was impressed at how fresh the fish tasted for a more casual sushi spot. I recently dined in and had an even more positive experience. I opted for the bowl plus roll option which ended up being a good pick! The tuna bowl I got was a good size, enough to get you full but not overkill. The toppings are just so much more fresh than other places! The salmon roll I got was yummy as well. For dessert I had the Nutella banana croissant. Omg! This was delicious. I wasn't even hungry at this point but I couldn't stop eating it. My waiter was very friendly and patient with me. Overall a good spot!

Yelp
Absolutely fell in love with this spot! If you like Japanese's style hand rolls, sushi, and raw bites you will absolutely love this place too. Everything we tried was delicious. Phenomenally exquisite with every bite. I don't think there's anything on the menu that I would be opposed to trying. The cocktails were prepared to perfection. We tried Sake Mojito & Granada... highly recommend either or. Both were super refreshing. The whole concept of a la carte is just beautiful. You can order as go. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. The ambience in here was super chill. Very spacious for large groups and the service doesn't miss a beat. They're pretty quick with the orders. Our very hand rolls were the crispy rice varieties. You can choose regular rice or crispy rice hand rolls. They have a sushi roll menu as well. The miso soup didn't miss either. Can't wait to tell my friends and family about Belly Fish! I will be returning very soon, and for anyone reading this review I highly suggest you to not overthink it and give Belly Fish a try.

Yelp
I'm always skeptical when ordering sushi for delivery, but you needn't worry with Belly Fish ! The fish arrived fresh as ever and their rolls are well crafted. I especially loved the Salmon Lovers combo where I added a bit of truffle oil. Excellent choice : 1. Salmon Lover combo, 2. Salmon Crispy Rice
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Stopped by here for dinner on the way to UM and really enjoyed our dinner! Service was fast and friendly--Manuela did a great job orienting us to the menu. I got the Belly combo which was a good way to sample a bunch of nigiri, as well as a crispy rice dish and a tasty pistachio rice krispy which was the perfect way to end the meal. Vibes were chill and easy going--I dug the music and overall ambiance. Would go back!

Yelp
Should have known better when my gf told me about the next IG/Tik Tok hyped place but i gave it a fair shot. When she brought the bag i asked where is the rest? She said its all in one box. Needless to say, the pictures shown does not represent what you are actually getting. If youre looking for mid bite size sushi from a kids menu, this is your spot. They also charge you 50 cents just to add avocado, cucumber or sesame seed to each specific roll or sashimi, which was already a red flag. The taste was okay, i couldn't tell much difference between one roll and the other, just lacking so much. It was tough to get excited about eating this. Its more for that coral gables/brickell type of life style. No bias, just honesty.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
This is their first dine-in location. I love what they've done with the space. The menu is huge, ranging from ceviches and tostadas to hand rolls and nigiri. Everything was so good that we finished it all -- and we ordered SO much. The hamachi tiradito was my fave. The only annoyance was some pesky little bugs flying around, one of which ended up in our sake (they replaced it).

Cristian C.

Yelp
My order was incorrect, terrible service, and a mandatory 18% tip when we were left unattended for extended periods of time with only 2 tables including us seated. Food was ok though even though i didnt order half of it lol.
google avatar

Angelina D.

Yelp
The food was great! We had it delivered to our apartment and everything was neat, clean and at the correct temperature.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
I ordered takeout for the first time and it was so good!!! I wish the rolls were bigger or there were more in quantity but the quality is amazing. My friend told me Omakai was better, but I feel like this sushi is my new favorite. I ordered the tuna roll and yellowtail (my fav).
google avatar

Shirene T.

Yelp
What a great experience! Such a cute indoor space and very nicely decorated. From being greeted at the door to our waiter Frank, I definitely had one of the best experiences. You order from the QR code. They give you complimentary spicy pickles. I got the homemade limeade, roll (spicy salmon) and tostada (yellowfin tuna), edamame, torched salmon roll, and matcha cheesecake. Oh boy where do I even start! The food was absolutely soooo fresh, melted like butter and delicious. The tuna tostada which is their signatures dish, was so tasteful on the palate with crispy onions that topped it off. And the matcha cheesecake had a perfect balance between matcha sprinkled on top, not too much sweetness and the presentation was gorgeous. Service was amazing and they were very attentive. Thanks Frank for making this experience wonderful, will definitely be back to try more things on the menu and at their other locations!

Yelp
Had a great tie ordering from Bellyfish and taking my food to-go on a monday night. ALL of the food and sushi I had here was top notch! So fresh, and SO DELICIOUS! The ambience was casual for sure but I believe the restaurant just renovated their dining room (was previously take out only). The decor is chic. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff was very nice. I have celiacs and they were able to accomodate my meal gluten free without any issues, which was a plus! I got the belly combo which came with 6 lovely pieces of sashimi, a hamachi roll, and a side of seaweed salad. A surprising favorite of mine was actually the matcha pistachio rice Krispy which was perfectly balanced.
google avatar

Karina A.

Yelp
My favorite quick to go sushi spot! There are always buy-one-get-one deals on Uber Eats which I love! I have ordered on Uber Eats as well as picked up in person. When I've picked up in person the staff is so nice & always makes sure to get my food to me as quickly as possible. I have two go to orders, one order is the tuna crispy rice, tuna tataki and side of white rice. My other order is the Premium Combo which comes with 10 nigiri pieces + a roll! Both are great orders, you honestly can't go wrong with anything you order here. All of the nigiri's are amazing and super fresh but if I had to pick a favorite I'd say the hamachi! I absolutely love this place, I'm so glad they are opening up locations all over Miami and will continue to order from them!
google avatar

Gianfranco G.

Yelp
Incredible as always. Fresh, high quality yet affordable sushi. Their quality is consistent throughout their locations with excellent catering and delivery options as well. First time at their full service restaurant: excellent service with a casual yet modern decor.
google avatar

Hugo M.

Yelp
Good environment, good quality and reasonable priced sushi. Service a little slow, but nothing too extreme. We will be coming back for sure.
google avatar

TRACIE D.

Yelp
Here from California. This place was presented as a delivery option without a dine in option so I took a chance and ordered quite a bit based on the reviews. The fish was previously frozen and looks nothing like the pictures nor did it taste exceptionally fresh. Was disappointed.
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
I ordered the Salome large box. You can really tell that the fish is really fresh. Everything was really good. I only wish the prices were cheaper and the portion were a little bigger.
google avatar

Isabella K.

Yelp
This sushi is amazingly fresh and delicious. I tried nigiri, the salmon and tuna rolls as well as the edamame and hibachi. The quality of the fish is amazing, it literally melts in your mouth. You can order for the delivery and the presentation is super appetizing and aesthetically pleasing. You HAVE to order the Nutella and banana bread pudding croissant for dessert. I'm normally not big on sweets but this one is to die for.
google avatar

Ambar C.

Yelp
Super fresh and delicious. I have only experienced take out but every time it has been seamless and exceptional service experience. I love the paper packaging instead of plastic. Everything is beautifully arranged in the box, almost color coordinated. The fish is super fresh and the rice is tender. The sauces are amazing... my fave is the yuzu soy but spicy smoky soy is also really good. I love the salmon with truffle oil...just the perfect amount and so fragrant. The place is nice but meant for take out only. Bright and clean and you can see the kitchen In the back. It's in the ground floor of a condo by the metro Douglas station. They do have plans for a restaurant which I'm looking forward to. Everything I've had has been delicious, will be on my take out rotation for sure.
google avatar

Sia K.

Yelp
This place is so delicious! The quality is fire. Better than a lot of places that I have been. There are slow to prepare your order so order ahead if your in a rush but you definitely need to try their fish. It's so delicious!
google avatar

Fernanda G.

Yelp
I ordered Belly Fish for delivery for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! I wasn't expecting much from delivered sushi, but the fish was much tastier and fresher than I had expected! The value was great as well, got a lot of sushi for a great price! It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but will definitely be ordering from here again.
google avatar

Neil D.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice , Solid sushi spot haven't had a bad meal yet I've been 5 times , it's not cheap but quality is good . Wish they would remove the tricky second tip option after the 18% mandatory tip.
google avatar

Landy G.

Yelp
This place is the reason I love nigiri. Everything they make is delicious. The boxes can be pricey but they are so worth it. Great customer service and friendly staff. Been waiting for them to open for dine in since it's only to go orders at the moment. I love this place.
google avatar

Cristin R.

Yelp
I ordered the tuna bowl that comes with two hand rolls and found the price to be great but the freshness to be not great. In retrospect, it explains the price. If your belly can handle stinky fish, then belly fish may be your go to. Try the sushi inside of MIA market in the design district.
google avatar

Flora H.

Yelp
I read the reviews of many sushi spots before settling on Belly Fish for dinner, and was unfortunately disappointed by it. The rainbow roll had too much mayonnaise, not enough fish, and was very small for the price. The two handrolls (toro and eel) were better, but also small for the price. The fish did seem fresh, though.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
My partner and I have ordered takeout twice from Belly Fish and neither time were we disappointed.we order one of their combo nigiri/roll and extra rolls. All of the fish was fresh and the torched hamachi with truffle oil was so tasty. All of the food comes in sustainable eco friendly containers. Sushi comes with ample ginger and wasabi as well as soy sauce. We have not dined at this establishment but it seems more of a take out place. We will continue to order from this consistently delicious sushi restaurant.
google avatar

Itzak H.

Yelp
Belly fish is both a blessing and a curse for me. It's ease of ordering both online and on a tablet in a relaxed friendly store make it really easy to figure out what you want and make changes to the order. The wait is usually pretty quick unless you come at the 7pm dinner rush. But the proximity to me and the good foot always make it a tempting option for when I'm feeling just a little too lazy to cook The food is good. I usually get the eggplant bowl and it never disappoints leaving me satiated and satisfied. I've also tried some of their other dishes like the salmon avocado roll, and the tuna tostada. Both are good and well priced which is great but not the best sushi I've ever had but still very good. Come for the fish stay for the amount of time it takes to prepare your order (ten mins) and enjoy!
google avatar

Christopher D.

Yelp
First, no outdoor seating They are expanding next door. So right now, it's just takeout and 3 stools That being said, staff was very nice and we decided to stay. It's touchscreen to order and self pay, pretty smooth. Did I say that service was awesome? Food came quickly and was fresh. Looking forward to their expansion
google avatar

Tracey P.

Yelp
My first order from Belly Fish and everything was delicious! The snow crab in the rolls is a FAB upgrade from the fake stuff. And the blue fin tuna roll was amazing. Immediate add to my favorites

Maria M.

Yelp
The food was to die for! High quality for a great price! The scallop ceviche is a must! Also the sashimis and todtadas
google avatar

Corey G.

Yelp
I am giving this 4 stars and not 5 because it's a tad overpriced and you can't sit there and eat. It's almost like a fast food sushi place but better quality than a fast food place. I can't speak on the ambiance because you walk in order get your food and leave but the service was good and quick. They did give a lot of tuna in the "poke bowl" and it was delicious but that's also because I got the large which was $26.

Kathy I.

Yelp
We recently dined at Belly Fish and were thoroughly impressed by the experience. The freshness of the fish was outstanding, setting the standard for sushi in the area. The ambience of the restaurant was also delightful, providing a perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Our favorites were the Salmon Tostada and the Tuna Watermelon. Both dishes were incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The Nigiris were also top-notch, showcasing the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Belly Fish has quickly become one of our favorite sushi spots. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience.

Lani K.

Yelp
An amazing dining experience. The sashimi is the freshest and silkiest that I have ever tasted, and the tostadas are flavor-packed sensations. There is a cheerful but quiet ambiance at the restaurant, and the staff is cordial and efficient. I cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Arturo B.

Yelp
I came across Belly Fish via UberEats. What a gem. Their combos are terrific value and as a sushi enthusiast, I compliment with some rolls. Premium Combo Handroll Combo Ikura Handroll Avocado Handroll Torched Salmon and Avocado Roll Tuna Roll Hamachi and Scallions Roll These are offered with a variety of sauces which complement them beautifully. House Soy, House Ponzu, Smoked, and Yuzu. Give them a try in person or via delivery. You wont be disappointed!
google avatar

Claudia A.

Yelp
This sushi spot is overall okay. The ambiance is a pick up and go. The service was good. While the food was acceptable, the small portions left me wanting more, especially considering the price. The flavors were decent, but the overall value seemed a bit lacking. It might be a suitable choice for those seeking a light meal, but those with heartier appetites might find it less fulfilling.

Jessica S.

Yelp
While my first experience with Belly Fish was unfortunate, their customer service and responsiveness was on point and I was convinced to give them another try. I'm glad I did! This time I ordered the premium combo (10 Nigiri Pieces plus a Salmon Roll) and the 3 roll combo - making sure I stuck to items that only included fish and rice. The quality of the fish was pretty solid and the salmon and hamachi nigiri with truffle oil were yummy. Plus these combos both offered pretty good value for the $$$. I should also add that the restaurant investigated my initial complaint from my first order and circled back with me to say they confirmed my issues were valid and had made adjustments to that specific menu item. Kudos to the management team for how they handled issues! Now Belly Fish is officially back on my list for a quick carry-out sushi spot in the Gables.

Yelp
Delicious mix of Japanese and Latin tastes, focused around fresh fish: think sushi rolls, ceviche bowls, tostadas and bento boxes. There are a lot of customization options but even the uninitiated won't have a problem putting together a tasty set. Price is reasonable for Miami and quite good for the quality (meaning you can get cheaper, but you'll immediately taste the difference). Belly fish is set up as a takeout place. Easy parking for pickup and easy console tablets for ordering. You can eat in, but ambiance is .... Takeout.

Yelp
Another corporate, overpriced sushi spot that will likely succeed based on its location and the lack of mom and pop sushi in the area. The food isn't bad per say, but there are better lunch specials and even better quality elsewhere. I ordered the ceviche and tostada lunch special and the fish was fresh and I was mostly satisfied. $20 for a lunch "special" that doesn't leave me full is a little bit of a disappointment however. Everyone knows that it's worth driving an extra few minutes for Matsuri.
