"This agreeable East Side pizzeria offers a larger dining room than most and a sunny southern exposure. The slices are about average in thickness and crispness, with a tomato sauce rich and herbal but not sweet. Its forte is unexpected combinations of ingredients, including a great pepperoni and black olive slice that turns out to be fantastic. Plus, it's open at 8 a.m., seven days a week — in case you'd like a slice for breakfast." - Robert Sietsema

Google
It's not as cheap as most dollar slice places and there are better overall choices literally within a block in any direction. However, the basic pizzas here are quite good, and there is almost always lots of room to sit to have a quick slice or two. Pass on anything else, however, especially the pasta that is honestly not very good. Service is fine and so is delivery, but again, stick to pizza!

Google
Great stuff ..!! Compared to other pizza places their slices are huge, totally worth the price. And also this place is very spacious

Zac Primus

Google
Cozy place to eat pizza. A lot of space, good variety, and decent price. You can also personalize your pizza so my vegan sister had options.

George Rosetta

Google
Good cheap slice place and their whole pies are good too. I think that this is a really convenient place for a quick bite because of its location right near so many subway and bus stops. However, the pasta and everything else is really sub-par and not worth having, hence the less than perfect review

Google
Even though it looked so delicious, I wouldn’t say it was delicious. It was kind of undercooked and for that money you can buy better pizza.

Google
Bustling pizzeria with kind, efficient service. Decent pizza, though nothing spectacular: my veggie slice ($4.65) had a mix of broccoli, bell peppers, canned sliced olives & mushrooms covered in non-greasy industrial-grade white cheese. Crust had a slight sweetness, was thin and crunchy, and otherwise unremarkable. Would I go back? Yes, because it's an independent restaurant in a location more so dominated by multinational chains. Yes, because the pizza was good enough and because of its classic NYC atmosphere.

Google
Bland. Drab. Bland. Avoid. Chefs have five opportunities to get flavor into a pizza recipe: The crust, the sauce, the cheese, the toppings and the seasoning. This establishment doesn't make it happen ONCE. Tasteless EVERYTHING. Ketchup on cardboard. And these aren't 99¢ slices with proto-plastic ingredients. Or are they? How an Italian-fared restaurant in New York can drain the life out of PIZZA hurts my brain to think about. So, I won't. I advise you to not also. Atmosphere is cozy though.

Every time I am in NY I have pizza here and it is always so good. The best - the right amount of chew, sauce, cheese - and enough seating to actually eat here. When I live near here, it will be my neighborhood pizza place.

Yelp
Delicious pizza in midtown east. The cheese slice was hot, cheesy, and saucy. The cheese was stringy. Tasty tomato sauce. Great place to sit down and grab a quick bite. I had one slice and then ordered another one because it was delicious. Pizza is delicious. It was $2.95 for a slice. Check this place out!

Yelp
Some of the lower-rated reviews might expect this place to be something it is not. Belmora is not fancy, and it likely needs updating and a renovation. You won't get fancy service or a fancy interior. However, the classic pizza slices are very good. They are tasty and served hot and fresh because this place is popular enough at lunch time to keep making fresh pies. It never takes long to get in and out in a timely fashion, either. Stop in for a quick and tasty slice if you are in the neighborhood. This will not be the place to impress your family when they come to town, but it is a good option for a hungry lunch-goer in Midtown East!

Raphael R.

Yelp
The pizza was not too bad but the place was not very clean. I had a craving for pizza and was too hungry to look for somewhere else.

Shawna S.

Yelp
I pop-in to get a slice 2-4 times a year, when traveling thru Manhattan. I am very finicky, and I do not think there is accuracy to other reviews suggesting this restaurant is dirty. It's mostly an illusion relating to the interior decor being many years past needing renovation. The pizza and staff are predictable. They are concise, and polite, but not chatty. And, the pizza is fresh, hot, classic New York- crispy thin crust, benign mozzarella and a light smear of tomato sauce that is not too salty and not too sweet. A sprinkle of oregano and red crushed pepper and ready to go. It's priced same as every other pizza-by-the-slice location in Manhattan. My summary - good enough for any city dweller to enjoy; and, I'll be back.

Sandra H.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such low ratings. I came on Labor Day and the pizza was great. I am a native New Yorker and a pizza snob. I traveled back from Florida where I live and always pick a place for pizza. I had a slice of the regular and pepperoni. My girlfriend had a slice of pepperoni and the margarita. All of them were fresh out of the oven, good crust thickness, sauce was not too sweet or overpowering. The overall place was clean with lots of seating for a NY restaurant. I would highly recommend eating here.

Glenn C.

Yelp
Note: No bathroom, even for paying customers. Also don't order the Caesar salad. It was drenched. Overpriced in terms of slices but the pies were large. Mushrooms were fine. Cheese was also. Crust was a bit doughy but the middle of the slice was not bad and not too greasy. Service is ok 2.7

Arlene C.

Yelp
Easy on and out order of NY pizza. Value price for Sicilian (pepperoni) nice staff and ability to dine in or take out quick. LARGE slices. Kids came here twice so it made it easy for me to feed them without stress lol.

George M.

Yelp
Awesome pizza. Really hitting above their weight. I think it's sourdough and whole wheat. Only open for delivery.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Visited Belmora Pizza & Restaurant, what an excellent spot. Everything about this place screams quality. Every thing that we have purchased was extremely fresh and flavorful. The staff is incredibly pleasant. I really liked that. Belmora Pizza & Restaurant you make so happy.

Ni N.

Yelp
Don't expect much from here. The pizza was okayish. Nothing great comparing to other pizza places around the NY area. Dropped by here only because it was the closest pizza restaurant near me. Ordered the classic margherita pizza. Came out to almost 5$ which wasn't worth it at all. Tasted like nothing. Pizza sauce tasted like it came from the can. Other than that, The crust was good. Wasn't too thick and thin enough for it to be crispy.

Kyle R.

Yelp
During the Corona Virus pandemic I ordered a slice with mushrooms. The fat Mexican guy reached into a bucket WITH NO GLOVES ON & began to place the mushrooms on my slice. After that he threw the extra mushrooms that weren't used BACK INTO THE BUCKET WITH HIS BARE HAND !!!!! I then inquired as to why he wasn't wearing gloves & he replied "MY HANDS ARE CLEAN" !!!!!!!! His boss then doubled down by insisting his hands are clean !!!!! Needless to say I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN & I WOULD ADVISE YOU NOT TO EITHER !!!!!!!!

Dashawn B.

Yelp
Terrible place they didn't check vaccinated cards or even cared. Now they closed. We'll that's good.

Katie N.

Yelp
Great food and friendly people. Hot, but worth it food so good. NY Italian. Easy to get to. We are doing a pizza test while in town. Salad is great, we got the Greek salad.

David G.

Yelp
Worker was not covering his nose during meal preparation, I left my meal on the counter and walked out.

Chris W.

Yelp
this isn't a pizza place, its a reject from the port authority. As I've said before chain pizza(pizza hut, papa johns, etc ), are gross and have no business existing in NyC! I used to think there was no way to f up a chicken roll, leave it to these guys to prove me wrong. It's time we had a pizza revolution and expunged all the shit pizza joints from our former pizza mecca. we've got tourists visiting from other states, countries, maybe planets(see MIB), we have a duty to show them to what real pizzas looks and tastes like! places like this are a disgrace!

Max H.

Yelp
The pizza is not good, the mealpal launches are not good, it's not really a nice place in terms of atmosphere. I don't understand how they stay in business. If stay pretty far away from this place. It's not terrible for a quick slice but for anything other than that it's pretty horrible.

Monique B.

Yelp
Service was pleasant. Pizza was good but a little Greasy we let it drip out before we ate. But pizza had great flavor. Buffalo wings and friend were tasty too.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing. I went today to just get some marinera sauce and some parmessian chesse that I needed for my lunch. Money wasn't the problem I was going to pay whatever it cost. The problem was the manager. He gave me a nasty attitude when I asked him nicely for what I needed. He also overcharged me for a 4 oz cup of parmessian cheese. I paid $8, so ridiculous. Never going back there again. How does he expect to get customers with that attitude?

Erika H.

Yelp
Isn't the best. Chicken fingers were WEIRD. BUFFALO CHICKEN PIZZA was WEIRD. the thing that was amazing was the Hawaiian to be fair. And to be fair, they make they're good very very fresh, so that deserves some credit.

David R.

Yelp
I ordered an eggplant parmigiana hero and it was tasteless and terrible. I've ordered it before but it's been a while. When I called from my office to mention that the eggplant was breaded and fried, they said that they don't make it that way anymore. However, the sign inside the restaurant clearly lists fried eggplant hero.

Al C.

Yelp
Giving them 1 star is really overrating their rude service and horrible food. I had ordered 1 plain cheese slice ($2.75) & 1 special slice($4.50). They tried to charge me $10 for these 2 slices. When i explained that they over charge me, they yelled at me denying it was right because there was tax. Even with the tax it wouldn't come out to $10. I told them. What they did was charged me for 2 special slces at $4.50 each. After they realized their mistake and gave me the difference back. As he did he made another rude statement and started using foul language. I just ignored him. The 2 slices were horrible. There was not enough sauce and it was burnt on the bottom. I would not recommend or go back to this place ever again.

Danielle F.

Yelp
Delicious and great service!! We were seated immediately and food was really good. Lots of options and kid friendly. Good cocktails too!!

Dominik D.

Yelp
Had a chicken and broccoli slice. It was succulent and crisp. So convenient when you're waiting for the express bus.

Julia S.

Yelp
It has a ghetto feel: it does not feel like a warm professional place. It felt that nobody was responsible for anything. I ordered two meatball heros and it did not resemble italian meatballs in sauce and tasted like that ground meat in school that we called mystery meat. I gagged it was so disgusting. OMG then i refused to eat it and forced them to return it and get my money. I got two pieces of pizza instead. they were fantastic. Hot fresh and delicious. One of the best pizzas I ever had but that meatball hero did not taste like an Italian meatball. My son ordered the baked ziti. It needed spice and sauce. it had a light orange color from not enough sauce. the lighting needs to be brighter and they need to scrub this place top to bottom we saw a gnat flying under the table.

Alberto F.

Yelp
Guys on the phone does not attend. Order our pizza, does not communicate with the kitchen. After everything pizza is burnt.

Karl R.

Yelp
Do not use MealPal. I had a 2:30 pickup, they told me to wait 10 min and 30 min later my meal still isn't ready. Super slow.

Mr L.

Yelp
I've went to this place a few times because it close to work. I've had 4 dishes and each was horrible. Just not good nyc pizza. The workers are not very welc

Friya B.

Yelp
The service is wonderfully fast. I love the people working there. They are so delightful, sweet, and chatty. The food is also delicious. I occasionally go into to get two slices of cheese pizza which are fairly cheap for New York prices. The veggie is also suppose to be pretty good but I love cheese pizza

Natalie D.

Yelp
I have fond memories of belmora as a former student of Hunter college and now as a graduate when I occasionally pay them a visit as I'm waiting for my bus on my way home. Their pizza is pretty good, especially their chicken and brocolli slice. Additionally, their buffalo wings are pretty good. Nice and on the hotter side with fries. Deep fried goodness I'm mostly cutting out due to eating low carb. To accomodate my new way of eating, I lately order their grilled chicken with greek salad which is pretty good. It's on the smaller side from thr outside, but has some decent seating inside. not upscale but Will do for me. The employees have always been friendly with me aside from the occasional pretty long wait. I can't complain because one of them remembers my order. I will return there when I'm in the area. Keep up the good work.

Lindsay Z.

Yelp
I wish I could give zero stars. I tried this place hoping to have a new go to pizza place. I ordered baked ziti chicken parm entree, which comes with pasta, garlic knots and a slice. I asked for an itemized receipt, which they refused to do. Then I got home and realized they gave me a chicken parm hero instead of entree but charged me for the entree. When I called them they basically told me to go fly a kite and refused to deliver me what I ordered and refused to credit my card back. NEVER AGAIN.

Joseph B.

Yelp
I ordered dinner thru Seamless and the order never arrived although I was charged. When I called the following morning to check why and get a credit I was told (a) they were not delivering last night, (b) the person who updates the website hadn't been around for a couple of days, and (c) I'd have to call Seamless to get the refund (they offered to deliver me the order now - RIDICULOUS !!). Given the number of pizza/Italian restaurants you can order from in NYC (even during the crisis) you should pick another one.

Paul K.

Yelp
Far from the best pizza I've had. It is a passable lunch in the pizza wasteland that is Midtown East. At least it is better than Ray Bari (not saying much, I know).

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
We order from here a lot at my office. It's your general pizza place. But today I paid $4 for a mixed green salad and received a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce with a lone tomato slice on top. The mozzarella sticks had a funny taste/smell like the frying oil was not clean.

Catfish H.

Yelp
Solid pizza at a decent price but at lunch during the week when it's crowded they usually don't have plain slices so that you will buy more expensive slices after you wait on the long line. That's a bit annoying.

Joey R.

Yelp
Loose translation of "beautiful love" Great spot for a quick slice of NY's best. Quality actually is pretty good for Midtown East. Im sure caters to many of the large department store employees (i.e. Barneys and Bloomingdales) Prices are great and there is enough stone faced staff to serve you in a swift manner. Slices are pretty big and whole wheat is not an option...sorry boys. In an area of limited options this spot fits the bill if you need to spend your hour break getting a new light fixture at home depot, a pair of skinny jeans at h&m, a bottle of your fav fragrance at bloomies, and a sensible cupcake at sprinkles. Lunch in the form of a slice of pizza...check.

Jeff B.

Yelp
First drop in as it is near my work. Meatball Parm Sub was tasty and large with lots of sauce and cheese and fresh basil tossed on top. Nice Touch. Good roll also. The place is standard old Pizzaria...nothing special. Busy, Loud, Crowded. Lets see where they go from here I will report in on slices and such in short order

Marcel I.

Yelp
Horrible pizza. Expensive and very poor quality. If you what to eat a great pizza, just cross the street and enjoy it at Pizzeria Romana on Lex. The exact address is 690 Lexington Av. Cheers!

Tony W.

Yelp
Just average NYC Pizza. No restrooms, no service, and not particularly comfortable. But our first choice nearby didn't have any seating, so this place was the only option on a very cold December day.

Blond B.

Yelp
Great location ... especially convenient for a lunch mid shopping! Food is nothing special especially for NYC ... they need to step their pizza game up!

Jeff G.

Yelp
I work down the block from this place, have enjoyed the regular pizza many times....here's the thing, the last three times I've gone there for lunch, they have no regular pizza available! How do you not have your staple available between 12 and 2pm, when everyone goes to lunch. The guy that runs the oven is a clown as well. I asked him the last time, how long before a pie comes out, his answer? I don't know. Today , the same deal...again after I said , how do you not have regular pizza at lunch hour, his answer, I don't know. I asked him how long before a pie comes out, his answer...I don't know, maybe 25 minutes...Are they kidding?

Jeff L.

Yelp
Great, friendly place to grab a a few slices of delicious NY pizza. Good selection of other options too. As a family, we have been to all types of restaurants in this part of NY and our experience at this simple little eatery ranks tops among many well known establishments.

Susanna L.

Yelp
It was ok. The plain slices are a bit dry and could use a bit more sauce. For 3 bucks a slice, it could have done a bit better. Lots of seating though during lunch rush.

Ray W.

Yelp
Simple, no frills, and the crust is light. This is not the best pizza, but it's better than a lot modest passes for pizza out there.

Hunter K.

Yelp
I come here often. Ramy is amazing. Super kind, funny and takes care of all his customers. Plus!!! They make a f***king awesome stuffed shells for an equally awesome price. #employeelunchbreak

Matthew V.

Yelp
Not sure why there are so many bad reviews of this place. No this pizza isn't the best in the city, however, it not bad either. If you happen to be in midtown and want 2 standard slices, then this place will most certainly do the trick. Yes they are overpriced for what it is, but at the same time, you can be guaranteed to get 2 great slices of pizza.

Roberto Z.

Yelp
I feel like these guys kinda know how to make pizza, but it tastes somewhat freezer burnt. Display case for food is overs with fake fruit and food and looks sloppy. Good for a quick slice, but not a good example of NY pizza.

Michael E.

Yelp
This place hasn't been updated in a long time, but the pizza is really tasty. My main gripe with this place is the price. But if you get a slice like the meat lovers or penne pasta slice, you're well covered. It's fulfilling but definitely not the best.

Cryslynn C.

Yelp
Personally, enjoy their food. Kind of pricey but its an amazing pizzeria right by my job so I do go very often.

Ron C.

Yelp
I give this spot a 2 star I would give it a 1 but due to the prices are pretty cheap they get an extra kudo! Ha anyways my boys and I walking down lexington ave 9am in the morning and barely anything is opened so this spot caught our eye cuz they were open the menu looked good but the food is not what it looks like in the picture they had in the menu...the food is edible but not good quality if your a baller on a budget lookin to eat cheap food this is the spot for you
