Casual eatery featuring classic Belgian & European dishes with a daily happy hour & 16 tap beers.
"If you’re not feeling the tattoo idea, try Benelux, a casual beer bar that’s named after the union of three European countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg). There are a bunch of tables where you can sit and Google things about the EU, and there’s also a full menu of bar food, in case you have a hanger situation on your hands." - Hannah Albertine
"Anyway, the version of the mitraillette at Benelux features a cut baguette, pickled carrots, roast pork, and good fries (though not twice-cooked ones), with mornay sauce on the side. I found the sandwich rich and tasty, but thought it overpriced at $16." - Robert Sietsema
"Two blocks south of the Morgan Avenue L stop in Bushwick, there’s a corner space with an illuminated sign that may vaguely remind you of 7th grade social studies. The sign says Benelux, which is the name of the union of three European countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg). Whether or not you remember/care about that fact, you should head inside for some drinks and bar food inspired by what’s served in that region. There are some authentic dishes - like a Belgian sandwich stuffed with fries, roasted ham, and mornay sauce - but the best things here are the burger and steak frites. The burger is topped with melted gouda, and the dry-aged steak is covered in a rich butter sauce. There are plenty of tables where you can have a casual meal with a group, and there’s also a bar if you just want some Happy Hour drinks or a burger and a beer." - Matt Tervooren
