A most excellent deli. Must have opened in the 1960s, because that’s the vibe you get from the beautiful decor. Comfortable seating, and absolutely delicious pastrami sandwiches. Served with pickles and coke slaw, of course. And the matzoh ball soup was perfect. I don’t know how the servers deal so pleasantly with the old clientele, because I am older clientele, and believe me it ain’t easy. But they do; the service was delivered with professionalism and a good amount of humor. Accessible ♿️. Huge parking area. Try it.

Iconic Jewish Deli in Bayterrace. Service is awesome food is very good. I love the hotdogs and a good ole round (baked) knish.

Otillio, the head chef, is wonderful as is the entire staff. We have special programs in the back room where we are treated so well and the food is always delicious. Thank you Otillio and Ben’s in Bayside!

I last took out sandwiches 2 years ago. it was fatty and awful so we started going to Greenvale which is usually good. I live near bayside so I tried again and ordered a pastrami sandwich to go. there wasn't a single slice of meat just chopped up pieces of meat and loads of fat. I give my dog better meat. Just awful. becer again.

Man, I wish I tried this place sooner. It’s deceptively big inside and has old school diner vibes. The service is super friendly, the prices are fair and the food is terrific. Fan of pickles and coleslaw? They make their own and they’re superb. Oh, and they’re bottomless too. Puts the gross soggy pickles and coleslaw at Neptune Diner to shame… in fact, everything I’ve tried here puts the Neptune equivalents to shame. The corned beef sandwich is big and great quality. They also offer it extra lean which is a nice option to have, same goes for the pastrami. The french fries here are made fresh and they taste it. Will definitely be making this a mainstay. It may not offer the variety of a diner, but checks so many diner boxes that I can safely say this is an amazing alternative to the lazy Neptune quality just down the street.

A great deli experience in the Bayside area. Ben's has been around for a while and is one of the best spots for some pastrami and corned beef. The staff are friendly and there's not much of a wait for lunch on a weekday. Corned beef and liver is my go-to sandwich here. The matzo ball soup and pickles are absolutely delicious. The matzo ball soup is great during the winter as it comes out piping hot! For others, the coleslaw and hot dogs here are great too.

I enjoyed my first visit to Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen. Oh my goodness, it was my first time eating latkes and they were simply amazing. The kosher hotdogs with various toppings were very delicious as well. Service was exceptional. I’m glad that I was able to try out some menu items. I had a great time. Jaime was really nice and helpful.

I went here today to celebrate my birthday! My family and I enjoyed being at the restaurant. For starters, the restaurant is very clean. We appreciate the waiters, especially Andres! He was our main waiter and very attentive. The food was good, but could’ve been more seasoned according to my mom and sisters. Other then that, not too much to complain about.

All my favorite waitresses weren't working today and the only one here was Maria. I had to write a bad review for her, service was very slow and my friends and I only received 1 extra napkin when we asked for some more. Maria didn't want to serve me today and I was very happy about that. My Waiter was Atilio not sure if he was an actual waiter but he should be he was excellent. My food came out fast as exactly the way that I asked for it. I received a nice amount of napkins this time thankfully. My pastrami was sooo delicious great flavor and flavored to perfection. My square kinish was crunchy just how I asked for. I seriously hope to have Atilio again as a server he was total perfection.

When you enter, you are walking into the 1960s. Same decor, but it looks brand new. That's how clean they keep the place. Plenty of roomy, well spaced tables and excellent, attentive service await. The matzoh ball soup and deli sandwiches are delicious, and there is no shortage of pickles or cole slaw on the side. They do not rush you. Bathrooms are spotless. Huge parking lot out front. We love it!

We had ordered online for pickup. When we picked up the food and brought it home, 2 items were missing. We had called up and the person we spoke with told us to go back to the store and they would have the items ready to go(hot dogs). They were not remorseful during the phone conversation. When we went there, my expectation would have been that the hot dogs would have been packaged and ready to go. They were not. They prepped hot dogs within a few minutes and I had left. Again they were unremorseful. If they had been apologetic to begin with , I would have been more understanding. Patrons, if you do order for pickup, it is your responsibility and best interest to make sure that you have everything that you had ordered.

Cures our colds! No joke...for decades now, anyone in my family gets a cold, in addition to (sometimes instead of) a trip to the drug store, we get a quart or two of Ben's chicken noodle soup. With or without matzo balls, this beautiful hot delicious broth is a wonder drug and definitely has gotten us through the worst times. If we get lucky and can catch it in the early stages of a cold, Ben's as a preventative measure works too! Occasionally even cures the blues. When we are under the weather this is our go-to. Thanks Ben's for curing my family for 30 years!

Food is always fast, hot and delicious. We are fortunate to live close to this gem at the Bayterrace shopping center. A very comprehensive menu.

BKD has a good menu including ethnic and regular American food. I mostly ordered for delivery. Delivery takes a little while, but it's good. This is good pick for when are in the mood for a Kosher Deli food.

I decided to order delivery from Ben's and it was wonderful. I love, love, love the colossal stuffed cabbage. I also had the latke, matzo ball soup and a knish. Everything was so delicious!

Today colleagues and I were in a mood for a different venue, during lunch, we were in Bayside Queens and ended up at the Bay Terrace shopping mall, we found Ben's Diner. Good service and great menu, clean place and quiet spot from all the commotion. The food was fresh and service met our expectations. Definite will come back again.

We had a business meeting at Ben's Bayside for 16 people. THe food was awful. Rib Steak dry, Hanger Steak overcooked, Hamburger tasted old, potato pancakes were over cooked and inedible, french fries tasted old. When we posted on the Ben's site about the poor food the customer service kept trying to tell me we were wrong. And then tried to buy me off with a $50 gift on my Ben's card. Do they think I am so cheap when we spent over $600. I felt it was somewhat a insult to my Jewishness how they offered it to me. I further told them that we have been eating at Ben's, usually greenvale location and carle place location for decades, not their bayside deli. I also told them I would never ever eat at a Ben's ever again.VERY VERY SAD AT HOW BEN'S HAS DETERIORATED.

I got two soups, one chicken noodle and one mushroom barley. They are both very good but I'm a little disappointed in the chicken noddle soup. There is no chicken at all in it and there is supposed to also be carrots but not carrots either. Just wish they called it noodle soup if that's what it is. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I'll def order from her again but maybe rethink the chicken soup.

We have been going to the different locations for many years and the food is consistently very good and the service as well. Love the prime rib special on Sundays!

There's nothing like a Ben's hot pastrami on rye, but I really love the pickles and the bottomless coleslaw. Surprised this is actually less expensive than Deli in Florida. Andres our waiter was so quick & lunch was so good.

Ben's has been here a long time, and although the neighborhood has changed substantially, I was pleased to see recently on a weekday night that the dining room was full and there were plenty of takeout orders being prepared. I had a craving for some Jewish deli food and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The standout for me was the perfectly prepared roast beef sandwich on rye, which was fresh, and the roast beef itself was warm and exactly as I ordered it (medium). While deceptively simple, getting that simplicity right to produce a delicious outcome requires effort, and that was apparent. Along with that I enjoyed a matzoh ball soup, which was standard fare and a side of stuffed derma. Everything was what I was hoping for and the service was efficient and pleasant. I was happy to have visited again and will be back.

I was feeling under the weather and a search for "matzo ball soup" led me to Ben's Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant at Bay Terrace Shopping Center. We placed our order over the phone and unfortunately the order was inaccurate. I think part of the problem is that the restaurant has several different menus (dining menu, takeout menu, catering menu, and other menus floating around online) and multiple menus lead to a greater risk of messing up the order. The franchise can benefit from simplifying the menu (keep it simple!). Apparently there are 2 different types of chicken soup listed on the menu (Ronnie's vs. Grandma's). On Wednesdays they serve "maybe Lentil" or "maybe Lima bean," and on Fridays they serve "maybe Potato" or "maybe Cabbage" - maybe everything is Chef's Choice? Life is like a box of chocolates and who knows what you might get when you place an order over the phone? The soups for instance can be ordered by the "portion" or "quart" with additional matzo balls (priced per ball) - it's confusing. Just do what other restaurants do: "cup vs. bowl" or "pint vs. quart." Make the quart have 2 matzo balls and pint have 1 matzo ball. The End. Sometimes you have to sacrifice customization for accuracy. The Positives (what Ben is doing right!): 1) Matzo ball soup was terrific, great flavor and texture. It's on the plain side (no carrots, celery, or dill), but the matzo ball itself is delicious. *chef's kiss* 2) Potato knish (square) was delicious. Perfect texture of slightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. 3) Rye bread is excellent. Areas of Improvement (step up your game Ben!): 1) Menu simplification - there's too much going on, which leaves a lot of room for error. We ordered the "soup and salad" and the person on the phone asked if I wanted the "double dip" (I guess that's a sandwich and soup? I didn't see this on the menu I was looking at). I ordered a Caesar salad and we received a house salad with Thousand Island dressing. Maybe it was a Chef's Choice Salad? Haha 2) Order Accuracy - we ordered a chicken and rice soup, and didn't receive this at all. We were charged for chicken soup (on the receipt), but received a quart of soup with noodles, 1 matzo ball, and no chicken. 3) Salad - there was a piece of lettuce in the salad that was very wilted. My wife spent time picking out the wilted lettuce, which dematerialized into other parts of her salad. The lettuce and vegetables just didn't seem very fresh. Reminded me of a sad, cafeteria salad from elementary school. Come to think of it, my elementary school also used to put Thousand Island dressing on everything. To sum it all up, I would come back to Ben's for their matzo ball soup and knishes. I would skip their salad.

I bought two quarts of chicken soup with noodles to go as my better half was sick and I figured this would be of help to her. ($10.99 each). I get home, she wakes up a little while later and has some soup. There is NO CHICKEN in the chicken noodle soup. I call and tell them there is NO CHICKEN in my chicken noodle soup. They tell me the regular chicken soup (listed on the menu as Old Fashioned) HAS NO CHICKEN, but their Grandma's soup does. Nowhere on their menu does it say that the Old Fashioned chicken soup has NO CHICKEN. GTFOOH. I won't ever be back.

I'm a fan of Ben's , love there food , but the sandwich had hardly any meat on it , the guy who answers on Yelp , is saying sanwich is six oz of meat , it's not! Can't lie to me , just raise the price , but I went home and ate something , it's short on meat , maybe your staff or scale is off !

What's better than dining in sweatpants? - Dining in pajamas, of course. And very recently Ben's K.D.R. & Caterers (in the Bay Terrace location) was the venue my family and I choose to fulfill our lazy carnal desires. Yes... we got delivery from Ben's. This time around we utilized Caviar for delivery and everything went smoothly. On Ben's part there were no mistakes in the order, and the food items were carefully, even thoughtfully packed. Not only were things put together in orderly fashion, and leak-proof; Ben's tried to put foods with similar temperatures together. Also, the extras (freebies!) in the order like the rye and pickles were appreciated- thank you The evening that my group and I got Ben's we could not hold back. Hence, our order included : Pastrami Sandwiches, Stuffed Cabbage, Potato Pancakes, Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls, and a whole slew of different kinds of Deli Salads. Our libation of choice were the refreshing Dr.Brown sodas (there's not a bad flavor in the mix; diet included). Due to societal pressures we did order lean pastrami sandwiches. BUT, they were still good with the deli mustard (Ben's added to the side), and my favorite- hot sauerkraut. All these things added moisture to the properly lean meat. With this delivery, I also discovered that the White Horseradish Sauce Ben's offers goes pretty well with the pastrami (indeed I am a gentile). The sauce was a bit watery, but sill creamy, and not too heavy-handed in the heat or sharpness department. The stuffed cabbage we ordered was satisfying as well. The meat in the roll was fork tender, and not overly mixed with rice. Additionally, the tomato based sauce that accompanied the roll was delicious-; savory with just the right amount of sweetness despite how raisins (golden ones too!) were added in the sauce. Not surprisingly, we all enjoyed the chicken noodle soup (with no chicken & veggies) from Ben's. The soup was not only delicious, but felt nourishing with each spoonful. I usually love getting their chicken soup with a big ole' matzo ball, and this time was no exception. The matzo ball was light and fluffy, but still held up well in the broth without it getting too mushy. You would think from all the hearty food previously mentioned, I would be too full to eat anything else, but I still managed to try (okay, enthusiastically consume) most of the other things we ordered too. I particularly enjoyed the potato based sides. Ben's potato pancakes are pure comfort food, and slathered with apple sauce- they're the best. Also, their potato salad was creamy, but delightfully tangy cutting through the richness. I believe the potatoes in the salad (at least some) were red bliss which is a big plus for me too. Like this review, the meal at home was big and long, but throughly enjoyed. Also, it was nice not fighting traffic, wearing shoes, or weirding out other diners with certain discussions (we're just interesting). But, I suppose at times the fam and I will actually dine in person at Ben's. It's a fun, zany place with a professional staff. Still, I'm glad for now Ben's can accommodate those pajama days ...

I ordered take-out the past two weekends.. the soup, knishes, and chicken pot pie are outstanding. The service was also very accommodating and professional. The space was clean and orderly... however.. ... this past weekend, I ordered a tongue sandwich and corned beef sandwich.. both of which were very dry.. honestly, almost editable.. not worth the money. I expected more.

What a ripoff. I ordered a quart of ronnie's old fashion chicken soup with noodles. It should be renamed salt water with noodles b/c there was not a single piece of chicken in it. Charging $12 for this is highway robbery. Never again.

This was by far the worst dining experience I had in a very long time. Top begin, the service was slow and did not get my order correct, omitting a side dish that was to go with my sandwich. The coffee and sodas took 15 minutes and when the waiter came, he forgot one of the sodas. My brother and I ordered turkey sandwiches and we received incredibly small, tasteless sandwiches for which they charge nearly 17.00 each (3 slices of turkey folded over to appear larger). The turkey was throat-chokingly dry with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Along with that, you get pickles and coleslaw, which are no consolation. My friend ordered the avocado toast, which came on one slice of bread!! Usually we have a good time here and everything is acceptable at the very least-not today. Today was appalling and they should be embarrassed by what they offered as a meal and the price they charged for it.

When I don't feel like going to the city to Katz deli, I come here. While the pastrami sandwich isn't nearly as big, it's still good. The pastrami is not fatty. The fries and onion rings are made fresh and nice and crispy.

Love the service and food brings me back to childhood memories. Wish it was closer to home have to travel to enjoy the great sandwich cornbeef

Heaven on earth (as an Ashkenazi Jew from an moderate family). Excellent Jewish deli. I could eat a round Potato knish every day for the rest of my life along with matzoh ball soup. Highly recommended.

We came here with Mommy for lunch because she likes a spacious restaurant with a high ceiling. They space out the tables quite good too. Rao was our waiter. Nice of him to be extra nice to Mommy. She will come back for that, lol. Anyway, we ordered quite a lot! I had roasted half spring chicken which I highly recommend. It was perfectly cooked. Hubby had brisket, which was not bad too. We also shared some kreplach soup. It's a chicken dumpling in the soup. Another soup we had was mushroom barley. Both were to die for, but I'll live. Since Mommy likes the kosher hot dog, we ordered her the special with French fries. She could only eat a piece and a half of the hot dog, that's it. We also ordered the prime steak to go for our dinner because at another location. They make the best prime steak with lots of sautéed onion. However, when we took home, there's no sautéed onion. I guess they don't make the same at every location. We liked the food and atmosphere at this location, so we'll come back again. Great service! It

A nice spot for authentic Jewish food but surprised of the lack of quantity of meat on the sandwiches and the type of rye bread. Not so happy but still have the pickles and coleslaw.

I've tried other famous delis that are supposedly "superior" to Ben's, however, I have not found that to be the case. Ben's pickles, coleslaw, matzo balls, and meats are all superior IMO.

Look At That Mound of Meat ! I have to say anytime I order the the brisket it is so juicy and flavorful. With this order I had the brisket served on toasted garlic bread . The pickles and coleslaw they serve is always fresh and yummy. The potato pancakes are also on the money. The service at this location was above and beyond.

While in the neighborhood, I dropped into Ben's Kosher Deli to pick up some pastrami. This is one of the things I miss most after moving out to Long Island. Ambience: There is this big deli counter where I ordered a pound of pastrami (and I asked for extra "marble"), waited a few minutes for the to slice it and give me a ticket. I then had to walk over to the cashier, pay for the ticket, and walk back to the counter to pick up my pastrami. Food: The pastrami is good, but not quite the same as Katz's. But you take what you can get, unless you want to drive into Manhattan.

Thought I would stop by Ben's for some sandwiches before the Yankee game today even though my recent experiences were not very favorable. Today the roast beef sandwich was stringy. Asked for medium and got rare. The pastrami was fatty and the brisket lacked ketchup. What is going on with Ben's? Are they having trouble finding a buyer for all of their locations? The last time I ordered marinaded chicken, tasted like they forgot the marinade.

Best matzoh balls (though lately the soup has been incredibly salty). Love their potato pancakes, knishes and corned beef. The counter staff are dolls but the older lady at the register doesn't say one word when I hand her my check. She NEVER says hello or thank you. I would not be unhappy if the next time I go there if she was replaced. Other from the mean cashier lady, I love Ben's food.

Tried matzo ball soup and Dr. Brown soda for the first time. Heard these are Jewish specialties. They tasted great. The soup reminds me of a cream soup it is not smelly or oily or strong. Light and easy. The Matzo ball was like a dumpling shape but tasted plain just like tofu or flat. The knish I had many times before and it tasted the same. Solid with mustard. Solid.

I ordered an overstuffed hot pastrami sandwich and it came with less than 4 ounces of meat on it. When I called to complain and asked the woman to justify how you could put 4 ounces of meat on a $20 sandwich and she said it was justified. I have been a customer for 30 years and I will never support this establishment ever again.

One in Roslyn. The pastrami beats the corn beef. The cabbage soup on Fridays contains meat and is almost a meal in itself. Also good is the kasha kinish. Coleslaw and pickles are included.

Went to Ben's for dinner Sunday. Believe it or not they had a chicken cacciatore special. I decided to order it. We thought it was just as good as an Italian dinner.

So I did not go to this location to eat but I did order a Pastrami Sandwich on Uber Eats. I must say. That had to be the most disgusting pastrami I've ever had. It had no fat. It was dry. It had the consistency of jerky. I asked for Swiss Cheese and it was not added. I paid $0.50 for mustard and asked for mustard on the side. I small amount was on the sandwich and no side was sent. A lot of reviews say this is the best Pastrami in Queens. If this is what's the best, I would say pass on this place. HORRIBLE FOOD!!!!! I had to force myself to finish the sandwich because my order was $25 and I didn't want to feel as though I wasted my money. Please do not order from this place.

I went here today, as it's been awhile since I've been here. I ordered two hot dogs and one knish. I used a visa gift card to pay for my order. My total was $16.30 and it's clear stated on my receipt. When I went home to check the balance of the visa gift card, I noticed that this establishment added a tip to my balance as I saw charge for $19.56. Wow!! NO one has integrity these days. Unbelievable!! Fortunately for me it was NOT my debit card nor my credit card. I won't go back to this establishment as their employees are thieves and dishonest.

I grew up in Queens and there were many delis in out neighborhood in Bayside and Whitestone. Before I went back to California, I wanted to have a pastrami sandwich. We went to Ben's. This trip was a combination of good food and disappointments. The waiter came over and offered us something to drink. I ordered a can of Dr. Brown's Diet Black Cherry soda. My husband asked for an iced tea. He was told that they didn't have it. My friend asked for sparkling water or Selzer and was told that they didn't have any. How could a Jewish deli exist without having Selzer? A plate was put on the table with Cole slaw and pickles. The Cole slaw was not the same as it used to be at Ben's. I remember the Cole slaw as being creamy and the perfect amount of sweet. This was missing the creamy and was disappointing. It was just a bunch of cabbage with very little holding it together. I had a sour pickle and it was pretty bland. The pastrami sandwich was a mound of pastrami and was very good. The rye bread was fresh and the mustard was the perfect amount of spice.

I love the food and the price. I never had a problem with my dinning experience. The service is good. I love the pickles and coleslaw. They make great matzah ball soup. I love the Pastrami sandwich. I order it extra fatty on rye and its is a great sandwich and a great value. Given the prices of eating out. I appreciate their quality. I rate it a A

Been going to BENS Bayside since I was a young woman. I am old now! Got take out today. Made my usual order (4 sandwiches) with my usual request "extra Russian". When I was given the bag I repeated my order and the extra Russian request. "I gave you two already". I asked for another. And SURPRISE......... the size if the containers have been halved!!! It is approx one inch high and one inch across. AND...... it was only 2/3 full!!! I took a picture but don't know how to include it. CHEAP BENS. And not in a good way. Good bye for me

I've come here the last four times and the food has been consistent and leaves me to crave it every couple weeks. The Pastrami sandwich is amazing as well as the hot dogs. I love the fries and top it off with black cherry soda.

Ordered delivery a number of times and very consistent. The pastrami on rye is good enough when you're craving a hot pastrami sandwich and can't make it to the city. Not a huge sandwich, thus the price. What I really like is their matzoh ball soup. While not normally the biggest fan of matzoh ball, this one is yum: tastes like it soaked up all the salty chicken goodness of the soup and the texture is firm enough so it's not spongey but not super dense. The fries are just okay and the chocolate layer cake is edible but I prefer a moister cake. The potato latke is fine. The cole slaw is a good accompaniment for sandwiches. The cabbage and veggies are very finely sliced and has less of the vinegary "zing" which I appreciate. Maybe skip curbside pick up and self pick up (if possible). While they assured me they would be out in a few minutes I ended up having to go in and seemed like my food had been sitting there for a while because the sandwich bread and fries were sad and soggy.

My husband likes this place and gets their overstuffed pastrami sandwich whenever we're in Bay Terrace shopping center. I like their Matzah ball soup (aka Jewish penicillin) and potato knish. Their apple strudel was a little too sweet for me but worth the try.

Lady in the front was not really friendly and made every one wait line for front door. We're not allowed to stay in the line by the counter, which was all empty. All the people has to squash in a little space and not allowed to sit in the common areas after picking up your order. Lot of attitude. My first time. Not recommending it

This is a hidden spot in Bay Terrace that I have been to on several occasions. I always order the matza ball soup to go, but I finally decided to go inside and eat with the family. Huge fan of matza ball soup. While getting my sons glasses at lens crafters we all decided to give the place a try together. The menu has many choices but we went with the chicken in the pot with matza balls. It was totally worth it. The chicken pot fed my wife, oldest son daughter and myself. We ordered spaghetti from the kids menu for our little boy. The service was really good, and I enjoyed the experience of reviewing a kosher menu. The place was very clean and organized. They had a separate deli section with all the fixen's you need, and on the other side was the restaurant with cozy booths to sit in. The prices are affortable. I highly recommend any doubters to go and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Next time I go I will be ordering the hot pastrami corned beef combo for sure!

I have been coming to Ben's deli for many years. The prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. I guess you could say it's expected in these times that we live in . It was very cold in the dining room, the service was quick! The meat was folded over so it looked like there was more the food is very good. The only complaint I have it took over 10 minutes for me to pay the bill 2 cashiers one on the phone and the other one very slow...

If you've never been to a Ben's deli then you're missing out. Only thing that might be crying is your wallet though. A decent meal will run you over $10 but it is good and worth a splurge once in awhile. Place - located inside the bay terrace center. You'll encounter a line to sit to dine and a line for take out. You'll see a nice spread of knishes, hot dogs and other items. Place has multiple tables in the back and it felt comfortable with a hint of old school. Service - average! Take your order, serve and is around if you need them! Food - got the open faced hot pastrami/corned beef combo with 2 homemade potatoes pancakes. It comes with a gravy sauce and a sweet/sour sauce on the side. I opted to use good old yellow mustard and doused it with some gravy. Delish!. The dish came out fresh and hot and the potato pancakes were massive! The whole dish was a hefty $22, beware!. Nonetheless it was great. I also love their complimentary coleslaw and pickles. Definitely go try out their signature sandwiches and other items.
