Berdena’s in Old Town Scottsdale is my favorite go-to for coffee with outdoor seating. Their coffee is beautifully made, try the flat white or a lavender-honey latte, and the avocado toast is always fresh and flavorful. The canal-front patio feels relaxed and charming, perfect for catching some sun. The staff are warm and efficient, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. A great spot to sip, work, or meet friends!

Great combination of coffee and amazing breakfast/brunch options! You likely will see people standing in line. The staff is super nice and efficient — the line progreses fast. Cute indoor and outdoor seating. Avocado toast was superb! I will be back to taste their pastries :)

There was a long line at this shop as we were looking for places that weren’t so commercial like to get some coffee ☕️ . This spot looked perfect - and so glad we waited ! The line moved pretty decently . Got our cappuccino and a honey latte and a croissant 🥐.. everything was excellent ! Service was great - the coffee was great and so was the croissant ! Definitely worth coming here !

Great coffee and baked goods. Their croissants are buttery, flaky and delicious. The coffee is brewed with attention and care. Only drawback: very few seats inside.

Nice little cafe, we tried out while in Phoenix and decided not to have coffee at the hotel where we were staying instead, try out a new cafe everyday. This one is at Scottsdale downtown. Seating outside and inside. As it was a warm sunny day, decided to enjoy coffee and some food outside with family. They also have some food to grab.

This is our to go to spot whenever we’re in town! Great coffee and even better bites! The sandwich is filling and delicious. This place does get busy with the line out the door but it goes by quick. Staff is super friendly and always provide great recommendations!

I tried out this café after work and was not disappointed. I love a café that has macadamia nut milk. I also noticed they had some good avocado toast and other food options on their menu. The service was really friendly. I will definitely be back because this is a nice strong cup of coffee. This is a great spot for locals and tourists alike in historical downtown Scottsdale. There are parking spots along the street in front of the store. It is adjacent to a roundabout with a beautiful large fountain, displaying statues of stallions. There is seating inside and also patio seating at the front, along the side, and further on into a breezeway that is connected to other stores with lots of shade. today I ordered: - Hot Honey Lavender Latte with Macadamia Nut Milk

What a great way to start your Saturday morning. I came 10 after 8 when they open and there were only two people in line but all the tables were full. Much better than last Sundays preopening line. Fast and friendly service. I always get the avocado toast with a fried egg hold the aioli which is a little too strong for my taste. Excellent honey lavender lattes good balance of coffee and milk if you get them for here in their glass mugs. The rose cardamon latte is too floral for me. Very popular tourist destination as it is located in the heart of at t of Oldtown. Very cute Christmas decorations. Great pastries as well. I have enjoyed the blueberry scone, berry danish, breakfast cookie and cinnamon roll.

Close by the mall, my husband and I came here for a quick pick me up during our shopping. Located downtown Scottsdale. This is a small cafe with only a few tables. Not good for big crowds. I got a cortado with a splash of vanilla syrup. Great top foam and bold flavors. I think I'll get this again.

The staff was all super friendly and I love the location. They have different events which makes it for a great shopping experience. The drinks were good a bit on the pricier side but still very well made. Would recommend giving them a try

Ended up here because of TikTok, and it's quite a cute place. The downside: pretty big line already at 9-10am, so food was a little bit of a wait. Other than that, it was a really good breakfast. The poptart was one of the better bakery-made poptarts that I've had!

It's always a must for us to stop here when visiting and it continues to be a hit every time. Whether you're getting coffee, pastries or any food item you can't choose wrongly. Coffees: cold brew, cardamom latte and cortado Food: parfait and breakfast burrito Juice: fresh squeezed OJ I'm usually not a fan of bacon in my breakfast burrito but this was crispy and not fatty so this was a plus! The salsa was also amazing.

Found Berdena's while looking for a good breakfast sandwich. Found it here! Wasn't a huge fan of the Espresso Tonic that I ordered, but the sandwich was really good. It was a good size sandwich on a perfectly soft brioche and I enjoyed it. Customer service was okay and parking wasn't too bad. No parking lot but plenty of spaces in front of the shops. Would return for the sandwich and another espresso or coffee drink.

Coffee was okay, nothing too special. It was PACKED and very hard to get in and out of the building.

One of my favorite coffee places in old town! The croissants and bacon and chive scones are so good! Staff is always friendly. Lines are typically out the door on the weekend.

We got lucky and came here before the rush! The perfect combo of coffee and pastries! What a way to start the day!!! One of the best croissants we tried and did not expect it to be in Scottsdale! I got three lattes here, to go, on a Wednesday morning. Everything was hot, tasty, and made pretty quickly - and there was only one person running the till and making the coffees, and one doing the food. the total with tip was $17.xx. Pretty typical, especially for Scottsdale. I didn't get to select my size (I think it was a 10 or 12 oz cup?); I think they should offer gigantic sizes is because the latte was SO DARN GOOD. I got the cardamom rose, which is always a gamble because it could taste like soap or lotion. It paid off because the rose was just a hint, and it was absolutely perfect. My hotel was 0.3 miles away and I drank the whole thing before I even got back (again, def need a bigger size!). It was also not all that crowded, only a few people ahead of me. We actually left a different place down the road because it was insanely crowded, and this was a nice surprise, especially because we had to get back to jump on a call. Next time I'm in town, I'm definitely coming here for my morning jump start.

Terribly cute coffee shops with delectable pastries and delightful coffee and tea. Staff is wonderful and our family loves a lazy coffee date in the mornings. Thanks for being amazing Berdenas!

Went here since I had some extra time to myself to try a coffee. There was a small line out the door but I didn't think anything of it, waited about 10 minutes to get to the register. Only to wait another 5 at the register since the cashier decided it was a good time to do back stock, instead of giving it to another employee. Additionally, they weren't keeping track of what drinks were next. I ended up waiting 35 minutes for a small coffee. I ordered a small hot mocha which was lukewarm, with pretty bland tasting espresso. Barely any seating on the inside. They seem to work really slow, and some employees were on their phone behind the bar. Would be better if they figured out how to have a faster system. Other than that, be prepared for a bit of a wait.

I hate to write a review like this but this was our first time here. We waited in a long line, got an iced vanilla latte and it was sour! We kindly asked them why it's sour, which is a bad shot. They offered to remake it and literally remade it in under 30 seconds later and still wasn't good.

Such a good local coffee shop- the only thing I wish both of their locations were a bit bigger it is very difficult to find an empty table and there is not much room to sit. It's very popular and gets crowded! You have to go earlier to get the best pastries! I really enjoy their coffee and food. I also love it is a female owned business!

Keep coming back when in Scottsdale. Espresso tonic, matcha, breakfast sandwich excellent and some good but small seating outdoors and indoors. I dinged Sip bc their avocado is a cold pre mashed ingredient. This is real avocado and everything fresh and delicious.

Charming little coffee shop, ideal for a quick coffee and chat with a friend or coworker. I tried the lavender latte, but it was disappointingly small and lacked lavender flavor. The raspberry/mixed berry puff pastry was just average, nothing memorable. The cashier appeared annoyed while taking our order, though they were friendlier with other customers. Spending $26 for two lattes and two pastries felt overpriced--unfortunately, not worth a return visit.

Stopped by here to try the avocado toast. It was delicious and I would def come back for it. I ordered a vanilla iced latte, which was just okay. I couldn't really taste the espresso, so maybe too much milk. The customer service was good and quick. The vibes in here are cute, but super small so hard to find a seat on the weekend! Will be back to try the blueberry scone!

This is a really popular spot near downtown Scottsdale. We ordered two drinks - a pumpkin latte and a chai. Both were yummy, but the chi stole the show. We try a chai and a coffee in every new coffee shop/city we are in, and the chai was top tier here! Service was quick and kind, and barista greeted us after we grabbed our drinks. It was a busy Saturday morning and there was a line, however this quaint, modern coffee shop made me want o stay a bit longer. Really chill ambiance and would love to try the food menu next time we stop by here

Really cute, quaint spot in Old Town! The associates working here were friendly and conversational with customers during my visit, which was nice to see. I ordered the cardamom rose iced latte to drink and the smashed avocado toast with fried egg to eat and it was very yummy! The bread was lightly grilled, which yielded a nice crunch to what would have otherwise been mushy. They were super generous with their avocado spread and it seemed like they might have combined a smooth spread with coarsely chopped avocado, something I liked. The egg on top had a perfectly runny yolk, too! The shop might consider not serving on top of the parchment paper because as I ate and cut bites, pieces of the paper were making their way into my food. The plasticware also didn't seem quite sturdy enough, or maybe I was just being overzealous with my cutting! At any rate, the plastic ware broke, so I just ate the rest by hand - no big deal!

This was a nice cafe- a bit small in size but the pastries looked amazing. The lattes were tasty! I got the lavender latte and it was exactly what I needed when I was walking around the square shopping.

Very popular on a Saturday morning. The place is small with 4 tables, a counter, and not much standing room. There are cafe tables outside and benches on the sidewalk. There were tempting baked goods but we just ordered special drinks: honey lavender latte, cardamom rose oat latte to go. The wait was very long and my latte could've been stronger. I did like the cardamom rose flavor. Only street parking available and we had to circle a bit to find a good spot

Love this place, the coffee is delicious. The food and avocado toast are delectable, location is great. I do wish they would open earlier in the morning, but otherwise totally recommend it and love getting to meet people at the community table there. I only wish all of the chairs had backs because the stools can be uncomfortable to sit on and very loud when dragged.

The raspberry pastry was delicious! Honey lavender latte was delightful as was the avocado toast! Waited around and was able to get a place to sit which was nice!! Everyone seemed very happy and served with a positive attitude, so it was a great atmosphere

The pastries and coffee/teas are amazing at Berdena's. I had the perfect opportunity to arrive at a time they brought freshly made out of the oven. This is the best chocolate croissant in all of Scottsdale. The blueberry cornmeal scone is a must try! Texture is phenomenal and I couldn't believe how delicious it tasted! Staff is nice and ambiance is fresh and inviting.

Came here and got the seasonal "sweater weather" drink with oat milk and was pleasantly surprised! The mixture of cardamom and star anise were a great combo with the latte. Their extensive menu is sure to have something for everyone. The staff is quick and knowledgeable. The interior is super cute with lots of seating inside and outside. Personally, an 8.50 seasonal latte is a little bit more than I'd like to spend but a special occasion is always worth it.

Great location in Scottsdale. I have had the avocado toast in the past and was disappointed on this visit that they ran out of avocados but had a breakfast sandwich instead which was also really good. Chocolate chip cookies are fantastic. Small shop with some outdoor seating.

From Chicago, first time at Berdena's, located in downtown Scottsdale. We came in around 10am on a Saturday morning, the place was popping! It took north of 20 minutes for us to get our 2 coffees. While we waited we saw avocado toast and cinnamon rolls come out--looked delicious! Great vibe, younger crowd, many teens and early 20's. Highly recommended!

Glad we stumbled upon this place in old Town. Coffees were very fresh, light and clean tasting. Syrups were not too sweet or overly strong. Food was excellent.. breakfast burrito was the perfect size and combination of avacado, egg, bacon, black beans, corn and a very good salsa. My wife's avacado toast looked fantastic and she put it in her top three shortly after the first bite. Worth the stop!

I saw that this place was getting a lot of hype over social media, and by 9AM on a Monday, there was already a line out the door. I wished there was more seating inside but luckily it wasn't too hot yet in April where we could sit outside with our coffees. I ordered the cardamon rose latte and I thought it was decent, not amazing.

Cute coffee shop in Old Town. Love the simple, clean, minimalist esthetic of of this spot. There is some indoor seating and a few outdoor tables, as well. When we stopped in, there were only a couple people ahead of us in ordering but a much longer line of people waiting for their orders. Not long after we ordered, there were more people lining up out the door. My husband and I each ordered a honey lavender latte with oatmilk and a cinnamon roll. Both were delicious! We got the cinnamon rolls warmed up and the cream cheese frosting made it extra decadent and tasty. It did take a little while to get our order and the cinnamon rolls were ready way before our lattes were. It would have been nice if they were done at the same time. But overall, loved the vibe and drinks and food were great.

Love coming here on a Sunday morning and sitting outside with my partner. She loves their matcha and we can't get enough of their breakfast burritos... each bite is full of flavor and their smoky salsa is the perfect pairing. Staff is always friendly and the pastries never miss!

I was a fan! I would wait 20 minutes in line and look at all the beautiful people getting their six dollar coffees and I became one of them. They had one vegetarian option, the cookie, which will prompt me to go home, and actually re-create. The straw.... The one that broke the camels back was when a person in front of me was chitchatting with the employee, ( that obnoxious over flirt about nothing/zilch/nunca/nada and when they were done, grabbed his coffee and cut right in front of me while I was standing at the counter. I mean intrusively in front of me. I made a hand of motion as in "what the fuck" type of motion and the bf/fella flirter didn't react. I knew that moment i wasn't a pretty boy and i was not a person in his eyes. I was simply a $20 bill and a $4 tip (cash not credit) .... I was.... One of "those people". Look. I take those starbucks surveys where it asks " did your barista make an effort to know you "? Mine here at pretentious palace ( and i like pretentious places) did NOT make an effort to know us or acknowledge our coffee loving existence! I looked at my wife who was already ordering and said i don't want to drink or eat here any more. We walked out and went to Cartel, the better competition place. Thanks for forcing me out of my comfort zoning and saving me $20 plus a day!

Berdena's is always an upbeat morning go to. Baristas are always polite and make each drink to perfection. Today I enjoyed a hot oat-milk honey latte. Finished with "latte love" and tasted amazing. Will always recommend and stop by for my morning coffee run.

So this review is long overdue. I ended up at Berdena's AFTER trying to visit another coffee shop near by. That other shop's customer service was awful. Felt as if I wasn't welcomed - anywho I didn't waste time trying to find another location to grab some coffee before taking off on my flight back to Houston. This is where Berdena's comes into play. Just searching shops near me & they were less than a few miles away. Pulled up, plenty of parking & it's a lovely location & scene as you walk in. Immediately I was welcomed & greeted by Kendrick. We spoke briefly & his welcome embraced me. He didn't know about the experience I just had but his welcome made me appreciate him more than he knew. Needless to say great customer service, an awesome vibe in the shop, coffee & bites were amazing. Just what I needed before my flight. I was able to get a little work down also & the view from inside the shop out to the courtyard was peaceful. Love the touches right out front. 5 star all the way around!

I've bean thinking about Berdena's a latte! This adorable coffee shop not only serves coffee and tea, they also serve breakfast items and pastries. I ordered two lattes; lavender honey with oat milk for my friend and cinnamon honey with oat milk for myself. Both drinks were delicious and had the perfect amount of flavor (I accidentally took a sip of my friend's drink, oops!). I came in with the intention of just getting the lattes. However, when I saw the delectable looking cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting, I couldn't help myself and had to get one, too. It was the best decision I've made in a while! This roll was pretty big, good for sharing, if you don't inhale all in one sitting. The frosting was simply irresistible. I literally cannot wait until I'm back in the area to get another cinnamon honey latte and cinnamon roll!

We came here with a large group (10 girls) after a long morning walk. They were PACKED! We waited in line for a bit but the line moved pretty fast, which was nice. Some of the girls ordered food while most just ordered drinks. My chai latte was pretty good. The reason this place gets 5 stars is because their breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito were AMAZING!!! The girls who got food shared bites with everyone because they wanted the share the joy of their delicious food. Collectively we agreed their food was amazing and outshined the drinks. I would 100% go back and get breakfast!! If you go here, make sure to go on a hungry stomach and get the food because you won't be disappointed.

Went for coffee and a simple breakfast sandwich. I've been wanting to swing by again. I had a latte that was excellent. The breakfast sandwich was fantastic. One of the best egg sandwiches I've had. Service was quick and friendly. Next time I'm in town I'll go back. I sat outside at one of the tables. Great little restaurant.

PSA, if you are person of color or minority do not go to this establishment because they will make you feel uncomfortable and speak ill about you and then deny it. Additionally, coffee is burnt. Save yourself the trip. There are safer and more welcoming establishments to go to in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Visited from out of town and saw this place trending on TikTok. Popular place with line out the door early Sunday morning. Solid choice for coffee, but wish they had more specialities. I appreciate how they measure out the ingredients on a scale to ensure consistency. Some seats indoors and outdoors. 3 stars only because it was honestly just okay. Nothing to rave about.
