I recently visited Berlin Diner in New York, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. I had high hopes based on the reviews and its reputation, but my experience fell short. The menu looked promising, offering a mix of classic diner dishes with a German-inspired twist, but the food itself didn’t quite deliver.
I ordered a schnitzel platter and a side of potato pancakes, which sounded delicious. However, the schnitzel was overly greasy, and the potato pancakes were undercooked and lacked the crispiness I was expecting. To make matters worse, I ended up with an upset stomach later that evening, which was disappointing considering I was looking forward to a hearty and satisfying meal.
The service, on the other hand, was quite good. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to bring out our orders, which I really appreciated. The diner itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a meal.
While my experience with the food wasn’t ideal, I can tell they put effort into creating a unique concept. Hopefully, with a few tweaks in the kitchen, Berlin Diner can reach its full potential. I’d be willing to give it another try in the future!
