"Bevri had the distinction of being the first Georgian restaurant in the Bay Area, and it’s hard to resist the khachapuri, bread shaped like a canoe and filled with melted cheese, let alone the plump khinkali dumplings. Don’t miss the wine list — Georgian wines are having a moment, but as the restaurant points out, the tradition goes back 8,000 years." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri, Becky Duffett

"The headliner at the Georgian spot Bevri on University Ave. is the khachapuri—the boat-like bread filled with a Wisconsin basement’s worth of cheese deserves its own statue in the Rodin Sculpture Garden. You should also order some of the fist-sized khinkali for the table, and the chicken kebabs you could cut with a spoon. This upscale-ish spot has a great outdoor seating situation for an al fresco lunch date, or you can hang out next to some VCs under the Georgian flag hanging inside. " - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez

IM STUFFED BUT IT WAS AMAZING🤩 It’s super good you better take your time here if you want a good place to eat. Lots of carbohydrates but it’s totally worth it, the cheese is really good and the bread too. Lots of Georgian dishes and they have quite a few alcoholic beverages. I drink water because I do not ever want to drink alcohol. (At least, anytime soon.) Restrooms are easy to find and I love that! Would go to this place again definitely. 💯

We love the Palo Alto neighbourhood because it's so cute and lively throughout the day and decided to stop at Bevri after a long day. We saw a lot of videos online about their cheese bread and boy was it delicious! The cheese was super hot and mixed with the butter it tasted soo good. It was a little hard to eat because some prices were just drenched in cheese but still delicious. We also got their dumplings which were super yummy but the dough was a bit thick to our liking (we would've preferred more meat). As for our main we got the pork ribs which came with rolls. The rolls were amazing, they came with this delicious and sweet sauce and the rolls had a tiny kick to it if you're sensitive to spice. The pork ribs were delicious and were pretty tender. Bevri is a cute place to eat but a little pricey for the quality.

I dined at Bevri yesterday and had an amazing experience. The traditional menu was executed beautifully. The Kharcho soup was flavorful and comforting, and their famous Khachapury was rich and delicious. The Georgian rolls were especially memorable, melting in the mouth with a wonderful traditional taste. The service was top-notch, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a taste of authentic Georgian cuisine.

Wow The cheese bread was so cheesy and buttery !although serving size is big . It was a-lot for 2 people so we took some home ! Beer was fresh and nice ! For starters we had pkhali sampler and it’s definitely a dish to go for !! We enjoyed our time there and strongly recommend!

Google
Nice food to try, especially khachapuri was delicious, but do feel it is a bit expensive. Currently all costs included in the bill (no tips, prices on the menu). Ordered the chalaghaji but server didn't ask if we wanted the bread or vegetables so we ended up with a lot of bread. The caramel pudding was good but very small. It was a bit awkward as we sat for a bit trying to pay but our server, although very nice, did not come by later and our table and another table flagged down someone else to pay.

Spent a beautiful evening at Bevri. We sat outside with the most perfect weather. Got a few drinks - dream catcher & hidden oasis. Loved both of them! For food, we ordered Kachapuri Adjaruli and didn't know what to expect. It was a lot of cheese inside a boat shaped bread which was pretty good. But couldn't finish the entire thing. Would love to go back to try more on their menu

Google
We were there for dinner in a party of 5. My overall experience was really good. I have had Georgian food in Tbilisi and I have to say it was not that far from it here. We ordered khachapuri with egg and dumplings as appetizers. The Khachapuri was amazing. You have to try it. The dumplings? I will not order them again if I go there. There were sooo under average compared to other dishes. And also they did bring the appetizers with the main dishes although we mentioned twice that we want them as appetizers and before the main dish. The chicken was soooo delicious and also those earmeat things that I can’t remember the name.

Google
It’s great to have a Georgian restaurant in Palo Alto, but I wouldn’t say the food was amazing. The Khinkali tasted like it was store-bought—good, but not great. There was no juice inside, and the dough was quite thick. The pork skewers were also dry inside. Overall, it’s a good experience, but more of a strong 4 than a 5.

Svetlana S.

Yelp
The food was good but not as good as it was in 2022. The quality definitely got worse. My beef dish was barely warm when I got it. The cheese in the Khachapuri was more stringy rather than runny. The point of this dish is to dip the bread into the cheesy sauce. The service was alright, we were served our dish and never asked about how it was. Now about the "authentic" Georgian lemonade, a complete scam! The ingredients didn't even include the herb used for this drink, which is tarragon leaves. This drink instead was filled with sugar, food coloring and natural flavors. Very disappointing.

Srinath S.

Yelp
Amazing place , great food and very refreshing to hear that they don't work for tips !! It's European style and there is no tip ! Don't equate that to bad service , because the service was great and I genuinely wanted to tip but was sold -- nope , we get paid a decent wage , don't need your pittance !!! So refreshing !! Oh the food .. kacahapuri is awesome but too big for one person , I would say 2-3 can share , don't forget to get their spicy sauce ! The momos/dumplings are ok and one item I did not like was the tarragon soda :)

Yelp
When asked if I wanted to go here, it was an automatic yes. This place has always been delicious, and we haven't tried the new location yet. The restaurant was beautiful, with a clean interior. The food was delicious, to say the least. Our favorite dish was the platter with bread, beet and spinach. Our only complaint was that the trout came out 35 minutes late, and they only really acknowledged the request when we asked where it was after 20 minutes with no new dish. Although the dishes were absolutely extravagant, we were a bit bummed about the wait time for the trout. They did however, give us flan to make up for the wait time, which was personally mine favorite dish. Overall; 3.8, and I will be revisiting if posed with the opportunity.

Cindy L.

Yelp
- Pkhali appetizer sampler: eggplant 4 soft & slightly sweet, spinach spread 3, beet spread 3 not flavorful - Kharcho soup 4 beef short ribs tomato soup - Khinkali beef dumplings 4 soupy, skin too thick - Khachapuri adjaruli 4 baked flatbread w/ cheese & egg in the middle - Chalaghaji w/ Adjika 3 pork rib w/ tomato sauce, not flavorful - Chicken Mtsvadi 4 grilled cubes, tender, chewy, juicy, onions, spices, potato cubes, salad, flavorful - Kalmakhi 4 grilled trout, juicy, stuffed w/ walnuts, spices, salad, medium flavorful - Drink: House-made compote 4 sweet berry mix

Andrea K.

Yelp
If you like bread you'll love Bevri! The khachapuri adjaruli is out of this world--order one per 2-3 people. It's super rich, piping hot with gooey cheese and melted butter, the bread itself is super soft with a beautiful crust ugh I want to go back! The other stuff on the menu is good but doesn't stand out as much as this amazing bread. I tried the dumplings and the chicken and they were both pretty good as well :)

Julia C.

Yelp
First, I love that this place has such ample and charming outdoor dining. Second, I like that they switch up the menu all the time. There's always new items when I come. Also, the presentation (as you can see from the photographs) is excellent, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Here's what we got: 1) Chicken liver pate: delicious, exactly as advertised 2) Badrijani salad: my favorite item. super tasty eggplant with so much flavor from the tarragon. truly stunning. 3) Mtsvadi: It's a good, even excellent version of what it is, which is tender, grilled chicken. 4) Kebab: Again, a delicious version of what it is, but not very different from other kebabs I've had. 5) Winter Pear desert. The pear and ice cream were refreshing. Portion sizes are rather small, so expect to order an appetizer and main per person. I've also had their Khinkali Dumplings and Khachapuri Adjaruli bread, and both were quite good. Definitely try their dumplings and bread if you haven't before, because they are classic Georgian food.

Aida R.

Yelp
Dropped in for a quick evening bite and thoroughly enjoyed it! I've come across mixed review about Bevri's kebabs and dumplings, but I can attest that they're undeniably good at making all things cheesy. I made a same-day reservation online for a Monday evening and was seated right away. (They don't seem to pay attention to special occasions listed in the reservation, so if you want to make sure a certain someone feels celebrated, do give your waiter a nudge about it when you check in!) A friend and I enjoyed the... Fried Artichokes (?): I can't recall the exact name of this starter, but it was served over a bed of mashed potatoes that produced a glorious cheese-pull with every forkful. The tarragon sauce drizzled overtop was also lovely. It's an herb you don't come across often, and I love that it makes various appearances throughout the menu. Mkhlovana: I get the sense this one's heavily slept on. As much as I love a classic Khachapuri Adjaruli and its buttery, eggy goodness, the Mkhlovana is a refreshing twist I haven't seen elsewhere. The chard, tarragon, cilantro and green onion on their classic cheese bread base is a gorgeous pairing. The tarragon flavor definitely comes front and center. Highly recommend! Agave Black Tea Mocktail (?): Not too sweet and pineapple-forward in flavor, this was such a refreshing pairing for the cheesy dishes on the table! Again, can't recall the exact name, but I'd definitely order it again. For a restaurant that can easily run you upwards of $40 per person, the ambience left something to be desired. The plain, homey aesthetic makes you forget you're embarking on somewhat of a finer dining experience in the middle of Downtown Palo Alto. This could come down to personal preference, though. Excited to take more friends here for a low-key outing. I'd pick a good Khachapuri over a pizza just about any day, and Bevri makes me all the more confident about that.

Swetha K.

Yelp
My first time trying Georgian food and it did not disappoint! As vegetarians, here are our tops picks - The Pkhali sampler, Georgian Salad, Grilled Rosemary bread and their Khachapuri Imeruli. Their teas are decent, and the Tarragon Soda was a refreshing change to regular sodas. Service was quick and highly recommend the food. Prices are a little steep, but that's expected from fine dining restaurants in Palo Alto. Also, an fyi that a 20% mandatory gratuity is added to every bill, irrespective of party size.

raz g.

Yelp
Great food like always . My favorite is the cheesecake with the vanilla ice cream. I also like the service

Kate A.

Yelp
I love Georgian food and this restaurant is a must try, especially it you are looking for khachapuri and khinkali. This food has a lot of cheese, meat and really delicious dough! It is quite pricey plus 20% gratuity is already included to the bill but at the same time it is very authentic and fresh. Location is great - it's in the middle of downtown Palo Alto among other great restaurants. Street parking is limited but there is a parking garage next by.

Denise G.

Yelp
Interesting food! Dishes were Small in serving but very tasty and palatable! The ambiance was chill too.

Samantha C.

Yelp
When I saw that a Georgian restaurant opened in Palo Alto I was so excited to try it! I knew I'd be orderings the Khachapuri Adjaruli and the Khinkali - both staples of Georgian cuisine. The Khachapuri Adjaruli came out and you could smell the bread. It was so delicious and cheesy. The only thing to note with this dish is to eat is while it's hot as the cheese hardens and it becomes a little more difficult to eat. Perfect dish to share! The khinklai (dumplings) were pretty good. I think without the juices they get a little dry but had good flavor. I also got the chicken mtsvadi - I thought this was really flavorful and fresh. The potatoes were awesome! Would be a great dish for a lunch!

Amy L.

Yelp
First time trying Georgian food! The restaurant was cute and semi busy on a Friday night. We ordered the Adjaruli Khachapuri (bread boat) and the chicken Mtsvadi for two people. The bread was incredibly soft and warm but the cheese and butter were definitely overwhelming. At the end, we were practically scraping the cheese off to just eat the bread part. Maybe better suited to heavy cheese lovers... The chicken was uniquely flavored (a bit like Indian food?), paired with a sour sauce and crispy potatoes but the portion was extremely small for the price! We were barely full at the end and most of it was probably from the cheese. Also note that they will automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill without saying anything.

Erich L.

Yelp
I never tried Georgian cuisine before this place is unique in the Bay Area. Tried the cheesy bread that had plenty of cheese. The lamb kabobs were good too. I like the spiral dumplings that are a lot like potstickers and very filling. Everything went well with a good beer. They have Georgian wine and I will try that next time. I will definitely go back and try some of the other things. European style service and they leave you alone. Everything is digital and you can tap to pay on the tablet. Note they automatically add a 20 percent service charge to your bill. The food is quite filling and heavy so go hungry. It's a little pricey.

Regina B.

Yelp
What went well? Beqa, our bartender went well. Not only did he educate us about Georgian cuisine and how to eat the dumplings properly- but, he also boasted about the Georgian wine. He was great conversation as well as a great cocktail maker. His attention to detail was supreme. We have the their dumplings and they were absolutely amazing. Bring cash for tips and dive into their carbs, great cocktails, and converse with their staff. WILL come again.

Max K.

Yelp
Foods are good and have special flavors like pomegranate sauce, regional spices and herbs to make them delicious. Khachapuri is heavy bread and cheese and easily spoil your appetite unless have it as a meal. Usually good for appetizer to share or brunch. Inside is small and could easily get crossed and loud. Could be kids friendly outside. Has indoor and outdoor seating. It's a casual place with mandatory 20% service charge despite minimal interaction with waiters! It was worth a try but not sure if I want to go back though.

Sharon C.

Yelp
First time trying Georgian food. Didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good! Ordered a bunch of dishes to share. Meat is flavorful and tender. As everyone else has stated, the Khachapuri (cheese bread) was delicious. Ooey gooey melty cheese and butter on a just-baked bread -- you cannot go wrong with that. Couple of things to knock off a star -- the trio appetizer was meh. With a table of 4, it was like a small ice cream scoop of each thing and we still didn't finish it because it was so salty. Food portions were kind of small for the price. Food took awhile to come out even though there were only 2-3 tables at the time. Otherwise, definitely need to give it a try!

Darwin N.

Yelp
A beautiful area to eat dinner. Bevri served Georgian food, something you don't see too often. Khachapuri Adjaruli: We came here after seeing so many people eat the Khachapuri Adjaruli online, showcasing how stretchy the cheese is. It lives up to its cheesy reputation and tastes exactly what it looks like: bread and cheese. It's not something I personally would crave after seeing the hype online, but if you love cheese and bread you'll go to town on it. It reminds me of cheese stuffed pizza, but much better. Khinkali: Essentially a giant soup dumpling that you can have with lamb. Be sure to flip these upside and take a small bite to let the steam escape, and then drink some of the soup inside. The top of these dumplings were really thick, and will 100% fill you up. We came as a party of 2 and ended up home with leftovers. Don't let these appetizers trick you into ordering a lot, they're very filling!

Alayna K.

Yelp
Highlight and must try: khachapuri!! Dumplings were juicy and had great filling and soup. The appetizer was missing more bread but the bread itself was toasted well. The beet scoop was great but the spinach one had a more flavored after taste.

Pedram B.

Yelp
I've never had Georgian food before and wow I'm impressed! This place definitely delivered. The place was nice and the service was very attentive. Definitely recommend going with a group to enhance the experience.

Valeriia T.

Yelp
The food is terrible. I ordered the chicken kebab, which consists of 99% spices. The dumplings are dry, they should have been soupy. The Khachapuri was ok. However, I am here to write more about their service. I would give it 0 out of 10. They came to us only twice: once to take our order and once to bring the check. Since a 20% tip is automatically included, the waiters don't care at all about the service. We ordered $240 worth of food and they automatically charged $60 for tips. I would have left a maximum of $10 for such service. Never recommend visiting this place, try to find other Georgian restaurants.

Wincy Y.

Yelp
I've seen Bevri all over social media, so decided to go try them out when I passed by for a weekend lunch. I didn't realize that this isn't a casual lunch place as I previously thought--quite pricey and higher end than I expected. I didn't have a reservation, but the place was quiet for a weekend lunch, which was a bit surprising. Nevertheless, the service was a bit lacking; the server had an attitude and was very inattentive and never checked on us. For the 20% gratuity added to ALL checks, I was expecting much better service. The drinks were good--the Georgian soda was very unique, and the pear soda was also very refreshing. I would get some if I could find them at the market. The cheese boat, which is their signature dish, is good when it's hot. You have to mix the butter and cheese well, and it's great for cheese lovers. However, once the dish cools down, the cheese hardens and it's heavy to finish. The Georgian dumplings were unique, but the tops were very thick and not meant to be eaten. I wish that the dumplings came with some sort of sauce, as it got a bit dry to eat. The chicken mtsvadi (grilled chicken with some vegetables) was not really up my alley, as the chicken was quite dry (fortunately they provided sauce). Overall, service was very lacking for the "high end" style they're going for, prices were high in addition to the gratuity, and food was a bit underwhelming. I think it's worth a try for the unique experience since Georgian food is not common in the area, but it's not really an everyday lunch option.

Nat P.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Georgian food is always such. Great comfort food and am so happy they have a couple spots in bay area. I loved every dish I had, starting with their Khachapuri Adjaruli which is their known boat shaped bread with cheese, butter, and egg. Oh my goodness it's so delicious and so cheesy! You would be missing out if you don't order this. Also had their Georgian salad which was so light but so fresh. Great start as appetizers! Not to mention their chicken liver pate. YUM! Definitely need more of the bread that comes with it because the pate is so good! Lastly, ordered their pork mtsvadi which was amazing. There's so many great selections to try such as their Khinkali (dumplings) and any of their meat dishes. You cannot go wrong with ordering anything. It's really good! Service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Great decor. Definitely coming back! Try if you haven't yet! Also, try their location in Los Altos. The place is very cozy and inviting! I love their decor! They also have great and wonderful staff. Plenty of parking too!

Amber L.

Yelp
Unique place in downtown Palo Alto. Thought must be good since 4 yelp stars. Well not do much. Had 2 glasses of wine. Very bland. Sat outside on a nice day + 2 stars. Had the mushroom dumplings and they were less than blah. Service was quick. Definitely won't be back.

Evelina C.

Yelp
Delicious good with amazing service. We tried so many different options and I've included a list of my favorites. The dumplings are 3/5 (reminded me of the Chinese Xiao long bao) The lamb skewer plate 3/5 (really small portions) The cheese bread 5/5 (definitely try it) The ambiance is amazing & the flavor profiles are pretty decent. Definitely a pricey restaurant but it's worth a try

Sara M.

Yelp
I used to like this place a few years ago, but everything we tried tasted strange. Maybe our taste has changed? Service and ambiance were nice.

Zamirbek M.

Yelp
Disappointing Dining Experience Regrettably, my recent visit to Bevri, a Georgian restaurant in Palo Alto, left much to be desired. Despite the initial allure of exploring Georgian cuisine, the experience fell short on multiple fronts, earning it a two-star rating. First and foremost, the service was markedly inconsistent. While neighboring tables received attentive service with staff checking in frequently, my party seemed to be invisible to the waitstaff. Despite our attempts to flag them down, we were often overlooked, resulting in frustrating delays and the need to repeatedly call for assistance. In fact, when it came time to settle the bill, we were left waiting indefinitely, ultimately prompting us to take matters into our own hands by heading inside to pay. While the food at Bevri was passable, it failed to justify the exorbitant prices. While some dishes showcased the distinctive flavors of Georgian cuisine, others fell flat, lacking the depth and complexity expected from such a renowned culinary tradition. Considering the steep prices, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. In conclusion, while Bevri offers a glimpse into Georgian cuisine, the subpar service, combined with inflated prices, detract significantly from the dining experience. Unless substantial improvements are made, I find it difficult to recommend Bevri to others seeking an authentic and enjoyable culinary adventure in Palo Alto.

Konstantin D.

Yelp
The food isn't very good. Specifically, the kharcho and khinkali were not very flavorful. The bread for the khachipuri wasn't especially good quality either, although overall more satisfying than the other dishes. Note - my previous review was removed after being flagged for a sentence that opined on the general state of Georgian and FSU cuisine in the Bay Area. Seemed relevant, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Priyanka L.

Yelp
Georgian food. Delicious. Quick service. Sodas are also very good. Vegetarian friendly.

Eric A.

Yelp
I've visited Bevri in Palo Alto several times and have thoroughly enjoyed their Georgian dishes. The chicken tapaka, trout, and khinkali are definite highlights, showcasing the rich flavors of Georgian cuisine. However, I must note that the service has room for improvement. While the food consistently impresses, the servers occasionally display a less-than-friendly attitude, impacting the overall dining experience. With a bit more attention to customer service, Bevri could easily earn that fifth star.

Victor W.

Yelp
Meat cubes as a description doesn't do the dish justice. Incredibly tender chicken full of flavor. The eggplant salad was also a delight and a unique combo of flavor and texture. Amber wine from Georgia is also something very different and worth trying.

Fiona K.

Yelp
Visited with my family today, and while the food was fine, the service was horrible. We had a reservation & were seated quickly, however we had to wait about 10 min before anyone actually greeted our table and brought us silverware and menus. Then another 10 before our order was taken, and another 10 before we got water lol. About 20 minutes after we got water, half our dishes came out. We got the lamb kebab & dumplings, which were fine but just warm not really hot. A few minutes after we finished these, we finally got our egg / cheese bread which was good but I mean it's pretty hard to mess up cheese bread lol. Ended up wishing that we just got a pizza somewhere else at that point. Overall pretty disappointing.

Jad A.

Yelp
Wow is this place over priced for what they offer. Do not get me wrong, their food is tasty. However, you pay 25 for a kebab plate with one piece of kebab. 23 for the cheese Khachapuri that is way too much money for an item that you buy for half in the US and a quarter globally. Their portions are not matching their prices + service. The server ask us if we wanted dessert 10 min into our meal and our plates are full. It was 7pm so no they weren't closing. Among other lack of attention. Overall, between the service and the portion + prices, we wouldn't recommend. 2 dishes, bread and one beer cost us 100 (with an automatic 20% added for any size table).

Catherine B.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night and was able to be seated right away. The service was good and the ambiance is nice but the mandatory 20% gratuity for any size party was a little steep. We ordered the pkhali sampler, khachapuri adjaruli, and chicken kebab with the Orgo wine. The wine was amazing, so rich and full without being bitter. It paired with the food so well. The food was good but the portions were small for the price. The star of the show for me was the khachapuri - I've had it before at markets but this was so good. Surprisingly big and the hot eggy cheese with the bread was fantastic.

Roxy C.

Yelp
Fish was not fresh, let the server know, but they insisted they tasted it (!) and that it was fresh and still charged me even though I didn't eat it, gave it back right away. Their Los Altos location has better service, hopefully they give some basic customer service training to the Palo Alto servers and manager as well.

Prajakta C.

Yelp
Overrated! 20% mandatory gratuity for any group size for average food and ambience. Pkhali sampler was the only item that we liked. The so called famous Khachapuri Adjaruli was disappointing to say the least, not for me. We were excited for lamb dumplings Khinkhali but they weren't really juicy and lacked flavour. Only highlight is that the place has Georgian cuisine otherwise the expensive for the quality and service.

Naoshad M.

Yelp
Service was extremely poor. They were in a rush to close down and brought our dessert out at the same time as our main course. They should not be taking 8:15pm reservations if they want to close their kitchen down by 8:30 and bring all the food including the desserts to the table by 8:30. The server who brought us the dessert was super arrogant when we told her that we do not want our ice cream to melt while we have our main course. Her response was that I'm not your primary server, so I can't help you. Talk to your server. I definitely did not expect that kind of a response to our concern.

Kristina I.

Yelp
I got a reservation at Bevri a couple weeks in advance for graduation since it tends to book up and I wanted to try it before leaving the Bay Area. We had a lovely meal in the outdoor area (we love summertime in Palo Alto)! The Khachapuri was decadent but incredible, and the rest of the food (lamb, some sort of dumpling, and chicken) was also very good but not as memorable as the Khachapuri. I tried Chama Mamma in NYC and I think I prefer Bevri's Georgian food which is saying a lot!

Berna G.

Yelp
Have you ever had Georgian food?? I hadn't until Bevri and I instantly became a fan! Had an after work dinner here and we loved everything we ordered. We started with both the beef and lamb dumplings which were not only tasty, but huge. These are about two to three times the size of your average soup dumpling, containing a large filling of tender and juicy ground meat. The stars of the table were the cheesy breads, the Khachapuri Adjaruli and Khachapuri Imeruli. These were also huge and perfect for sharing with groups. Think huge slabs of cheese accompanied by an outer layer of bread, kind of like a calzone or sauceless deep dish pizza. For my entree, I ordered the lamb kebab which was also amazing. Juicy, tender, and seasoned perfectly. Like most of the other entrees, it's served with roasted potatoes and a tangy salad. The perfect meal!

Christen D.

Yelp
There is honestly nothing about this restaurant that makes it stand out. We came in on a Wednesday evening and greeting - well, the staff was very awkward. It was like they never spoke to guests before and didn't really know what to do.. On top of that a woman who looked like the manager was treating them very rudely. She was raising their voice at them and I could tell there was no mutual respect between everyone. Sucks! First, I ordered hot water, which took almost 15 minutes to come out. We were the only people in the restaurant. Why would hot water take that long? Lol.. and never got a refill. My friend got the chicken kebab and I got the khachapuri... Both of us were pretty displeased. For $23 you get khachapuri that doesn't have any special flavor to it (I have - yes - tried better khachapuri elsewhere). It tasted and felt very greasy, heavy, and gross. I felt very disgusting after. Tack on a 20% service charge (which is listed on the menu, so at least we're aware of it) for service that was pretty nonexistent... nope! Never coming back or recommending people to come here. Good try, but I understand why nobody ever recommends to eat here when looking at places on University Ave.

Yelp
Not that many Georgian spots in the Bay Area so was looking forward to checking out this place! Cute, upscale vibes and their outdoor area is nicely decorated with heat lamps - would recommend sitting there if weather permits. For the food, Pkhali was the highlight of my meal. Super unique and pleasantly flavorful yet not as heavy as hummus. Also the scoops looked like ice-cream which is my type of aesthetic hehe. Lamb Khinkali tasted too gamey for my liking and you can definitely do without the butter in the Khachapuri Adjurali. The Rainbow Trout was fresh but I wished it had a tad bit more seasoning. Service was average as barely anyone came to check on our table, but at least the food came out fairly quickly! Overall I would come back but try different dishes - with the exception of the Pkhali :)

Yelp
AMAZING APPETIZER 100/10 But sadly that's one of the only vegetarian things I could get. The ingredients were so fresh and I don't even like eggplants but I cleaned the plate UP I don't know what they did to make it so good combination of balsamic glaze with a garlic flavor transformed the flavor. The green and red dips(?) were SOOOO DELICIOUS. Wish I had more. Staff was so friendly and even brought a heat lamp for our convenience. Restaurant has such a warmth vibe to it def somewhere to go for a special occasion The only thing this place lacked was veg options Really would recommend including some plant based dishes such as maybe a veg version of the dumplings or maybe kebab of some sort would help since there are so many veg people in the bay!! Want to try the cheese bread when I go next tho

Yelp
The food at this establishment was great. The atmosphere not so much. When you spend $400 on dinner for 2 people you'd hope there isn't a table of children running around the restaurant and hiding under your chair and table. The restaurant has an obligation to correct this behavior and they didn't. I don't understand why, but motherless...I cannot give another star because of this. Unacceptable behavior. But the food is really good, and I'd recommend this place for that.

Yelp
Wow, this place is incredible! I had never had Georgian food before but it absolutely blew me away. The Khachapuri Adjaruli was unbelievable, unique, and definitely the highlight of the meal. GET IT! The dumplings weren't amazing but they were good. Also highly recommend the chicken mtsvadi. The caramel pudding was good but more like a flan texture-wise. Nice, casual ambiance and really kind service. Also definitely get a glass of Saperavi!

Yelp
Service Service is good. Waiter check with us frequently and they are all friendly. Decoration The interior decoration is simple and elegant. I found the indoor seating a bit cramped, so I ultimately chose a more comfortable spot near the entrance. Dishes Recommendation - Khinkali dumplings 5/6 pcs $23/35 Giant, thick-skinned dumplings - a must-try signature dish! - Khanchapuri Adjaruli $23 A bread with plenty of cheese, baked to perfection - another signature dish. - Kebab Chicken $24 Juicy and tender grilled chicken skewers! Not recommended - Eggplant rolls Too salty, and the side dishes might not suit everyone's taste. - Kharcho soup $18 Beef stew soup. Lacks flavor; you can't really taste the meat and tomato.

Yelp
I thought my experience here was just OK, could have been better. We came here with a party of 6 adults and 2 children for lunch. Overall I felt like the food was on the bland side and very expensive and poor value for what you get. We ordered one Kharcho soup and it was really pricey at $18. The soup was in the shallowest bowl I've ever seen and truly meant for one person. $18 is very steep for a very small bowl of soup. For fun, we had tried to split it but it was not very successful. The menu description said "Slow-cooked beef soup with rice, tomatoes, herbs and Georgian spices." I felt this to be a bit on the bland side and I should have added some salt. We tried the dumplings and I wasn't a huge fan of the flavors. The dough was very thick and I didn't find it particularly tasty (I am wondering if it would have tasted better with thinner skin, similar to xiao long bao from Shanghainese cuisine). The dough at the top was extremely difficult to eat (too hard) but I read that it was supposed to be used to hold as a topper to eat the dumpling so I guess maybe you're not supposed to eat that. We tried the ajapsandali eggplant stew and it also felt kind of lifeless. We were struggling to finish this dish until someone finally polished off the red bell peppers at the very end. The only dish that I felt was pretty decent was the cheese bread one (khachapuri adjaruli) although the dish overall felt like a nice pizza or flatbread. It also felt like a snack / appetizer and not something you would eat as a main meal though. Service was OK. Friendly but kind of distant at the same time.

Yelp
I was thrilled to return to this restaurant for lunch with my family, but I was greatly disappointed. Everything has changed, and not for the better. My favorite Georgian salad was unappetizing, the grilled eggplant was overly oily, and the Kharcho soup lacked flavor and authenticity of Georgian cuisine. The prices were high, and the service was virtually non-existent. This entire experience was extremely frustrating! I do not recommend this restaurant; it's a waste of money and has a bad vibe.

Yelp
Swung by this place for dinner on a Saturday night after buying sheets with the husband. We were happy to be seated immediately without a reservation. This is my first Georgian restaurant, and my overall impression of the food was that it had similarities from its neighboring countries like Russia. The dishes are homey, filling, and something I feel like I would get if I visited my Georgian friend's house. Between the husband and I, we had the: beef + pork khinkali, the chicken mtsvadi, the pork chalaghaji, a dark Czech lager, and a glass of the orgo. Portions are not too big. Being used to Asian dumplings or khinkali was filling and had good flavors but the thick dough was not my preference (but you have to think of the people's lifestyle as well as the climate when you're appreciating cuisines, so I get why they are that way). The pork and chicken entrees was flavorful, and not dry. I love Czech Kozel, so I loved the dark lager. I was pleasantly surprised at how I liked the Georgian wine. It's not as scientifically done as the American wines, but not as rustic and earthy as Italian wines. Somewhere in the middle, but still goes well with its down-to-Earth dishes. The service is very casual (not the friendliest but not the worst either). You can order via your phone, but they come around too.

Yelp
We were excited to try Georgian food for the first time. Pros: It was a nice, clean restaurant with delicious appetizers and wine. We love that you can scan to order and pay online. Cons: Service was not great, server was not knowledgeable about entree recommendations. Food is on the pricier side. We ordered: - Khinkali (beef and pork) was juicy and delicious. - Khachapuri adjaruli was a favorite, warm and soft bread with lots of cheese and perfect egg yolk. We wish there was more of it! - Chicken mtsvadi was okay, not as good as the appetizers. - Winter pear dessert was good, loved the chocolate and vanilla cream but not a fan of the wine poached pear. - Artevani red wine and Tvishi semi-sweet white Marani wine were surprisingly good and not too sweet. Would return just for the appetizers and wine!
