The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$$ After a major pandemic-induced setback, Bhawan opened in 2022 as a way to bring street-food classics to a restaurant setting in Gurgaon, the business district and tech suburb outside Delhi. Usually, “canteen-inspired” restaurants are suspect even if they’re popular (think Dishoom), but the team behind Bhawan — Kainaz Contractor and Rahul Dua bring enthusiasm, experience, and rigor to this spot. It’s a warm, simple choice, with a “something for everyone” vibe. Cocktails are imaginative, like the Kokumsteen (made with gin and kokum, a souring agent used on India’s west coast) and the Bael Trail (featuring gin, wood-apple syrup, and ghost chile tincture). The restaurant’s far-ranging collection of chaats — like karela (bittergourd chips) and kurkuri (crispy okra) — makes it a useful way to “travel” India’s staggering breadth, otherwise quite challenging to do for real. Mains are consistently good, but especially noteworthy are the fish tikka grilled with a smoky Bengali lemon named gondhoraj; the summer koftas; and the tamarind-laced puli-inji prawns. Best for: A gift box of in-house sweets to take home as a souvenir." - Sharanya Deepak

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I read about it last year but didn't have time to try it. This time around, I completely forgot about it and remembered yesterday, just in time😄. I started with a jamun kala katha spritzer, 6 gol guppas with a green chili tamarind water as well as a pomegranate and cumin water. I then ordered a sungta Maria which is a play on the goan prawn toast, a tiramisu rasmali and a South Indian coffee! It has a sort of dishoom (in London) vibe. The spritzer, the gol guppas with the pomegranate water, the rasmali and the coffee were delish. The prawn toast was okay. The shrimp tasted a bit fishy to me and I think it could have been better. Overall a great experience.

Attentive staff serving really yummy dishes well plated and garnished to perfection. This place is an amazing blend of traditional flavours, elegance modern plating and nostalgic atmosphere with the screens playing songs and advertisements from years past.

Bhavan – A Culinary Journey Through India Bhavan beautifully brings together the delicacies of Indian states under one roof, offering a true taste of authentic Indian flavors. Every dish here is a tribute to tradition, capturing the essence of regional cuisines with perfection. One of the most unique finds for me was the Soda Pop—a refreshing, nostalgic drink that I haven’t come across anywhere else. It’s a must-try! And when it comes to food, the Mushroom Haleem stole the show—a vegetarian twist on the classic dish that is pure bliss. The depth of flavors and rich texture make it an absolute delight. From North to South, East to West, every dish stays true to its roots, delivering the same authentic taste you’d find in its home state—just wow! The ambiance is another highlight, transporting you straight to the ‘90s, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a hearty meal with family or friends. For anyone who loves Indian cuisine in its truest form, Bhavan is a highly recommended experience!

Dude, this is totally one of my faves, and it's gotta be the place for modern, experimental Indian food. The service is awesome, the food's incredible, and the drinks are good too. It's a great spot to hit up with friends, family, or even as a date.

I would not rate it 5 because had a lot of expectations considering the Top travellers rating of this restaurant. The Dahi chaat was absolutely standard one, you would recognise the taste with any other chaat you have had, so nothing out of the ordinary. Mutton kebab was good but again pretty ok one. Martaban ka meat gave a totally homemade flavour, it was really good, but not what you would want at a restaurant. Tiramisu Rasmalai was top-notch, interesting flavours there! Overall the experience was good but not what I would expect at a restaurant that has earned a top notch place in a coveted list! You should definitely try it once for sure!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited Bhawan at 32nd Avenue Milestone in Gurgaon after spotting their mouthwatering Palak Patta Chaat on Instagram, and let me tell you—it lived up to the hype! The Palak Patta Chaat was an absolute delight: crispy, thinly fried palak leaves coated in gram flour, paired with a splendid mix of sweet and spicy chutneys that left my taste buds dancing. It was everything I hoped for and more! Next up, I tried their Chole Bhature, and it’s hands-down one of the best in the 32nd Milestone area. The bhature were perfectly fluffy, and the chole had just the right kick of spices. To wrap up, I indulged in their iconic Besan ka Laddu—sweet, rich, and surprisingly wholesome, it was the perfect treat to satisfy my sweet tooth. The retro-styled ambience at Bhawan deserves a special mention. From the thoughtfully designed TV screens to the vibrant menu boards and impeccable color contrasts, every detail added to the charm, making the experience truly memorable. Bhawan is now my go-to spot at 32nd Milestone, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit for another round of that incredible Palak Patta Chaat. Highly recommend!

Yesterday I was taken to this place by my grand daughter, a doctor. This place is one of her most liked food junctions and she visits this place quite often. I found it as a nice place , lively and vibrant with a lot of hustle and bustle around. It seems that 32nd Mile Stone in Gurgaon is turning out to be another preferred foodies hub . Waiting time here at Bhawan may vary, maybe an hour or more. The ambience, inside and outside,is simple and soothing. I and my granddaughter preferred sitting outside which we found little uncomfortable due to heat and sultry weather. Large pedestal fans did no good except throwing watery air on our face and food plates. Very irritating. Staff is courteous and attend the customers well. This chain of Eateries is amongst the top ranking Eateries. We tried their Palak Patta Chat and found it exceptionally tasty, crispy and refreshing. Definitely it's a new variations of Chat. In meals we ordered their signature vegetarian items like Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer, Naan and Roti. Quite tasty. Balanced spices and oil. No after eating problem in stomach. We all enjoyed our evening with a sumptuous meals at Bhawan. Only thing where my granddaughter doesn't agree with me is the high rates in the Menu. While the young doctor has no problem with such higher rates, I personally feel that I can find equally tasty, maybe much better, Dal Makhni and Shahi Paneer elsewhere,at many other places in Gurugram and that too , at much lower rates. But the name and fame of the place also matters a great these days. Overall a nice place worth visting .

Went here last night for dinner. Place is cozy, with both outdoor and indoor sitting. But, food was a bit expensive. We tried keema samosa ( which was a bit oily as if it was not fresh and was fried twice) Then mutton dahi vada - that mutton tiki was not crunchy , it was served inside dahi with meethi chutney Then at the end, Chicken Bharta was pretty average served with Malabar paratha, which again found very oily Overall very decent experience, nothing extraordinary, so not worth your penny
