Bhooke is bringing it with its northern Rajasthani cuisine. They are experts at balancing spices, flavors, and textures. Their dishes stand out due to the amazing flavors that are both bold and nuanced.
Bhooke Special Curry: The curry is served in a snazzy silver dish. The curry is a beige-colored blend of milk, cream, garlic, and onions. It has a pleasing sweet and creamy taste with spices that play harmoniously together. Fox nuts (makhana) are the seeds from water lilies. They are neutral in flavor and once puffed up, their texture is like popcorn or little dough balls softened by the curry. Texture is provided by softened cashews that still have a tiny crunch. Plump golden raisins pop with flavor. Fragrant pink rose petals and green pistachio bits add aroma and color to the top. Scoop it all up with some naan or roti.
Maharaja Thali: The thali is a massive plate made of leaves containing an assortment of delicacies fit for royalty. There is a dry curry of cauliflowers, carrots, and green beans cooked in a curry spice mixture with just enough water so that they are coated with flavor. Lehsun ki chutney is a red paste of garlic and red peppers, which delivers some solid heat. Mirchi ke tipore is a quick pickle made by frying green chilies in spices. The chilies are soft, tender, and very flavorful. Small dishes contain dal (stewed lentils) and curry. Scoop everything up with one of the rotis (wheat, pearl millet, and corn) or with a baati (hard fried bread ball the size of a golf ball). Between dunks in the ghee and dal, take a sip of the cold tangy buttermilk. For dessert, laapsi is a sweet treat made of grain flour, ghee, milk, nuts, and dried fruits. It has a soft, jiggly, almost pudding like texture. There is another dessert, similar to the laapsi. The green, soft, and gooey concoction contains milk, sugar, and cardamom.
Dining Area: The interior is long and spacious with over a dozen tables.
Parking: There is a lot in the back with a handful of spaces that you can park in. Half the spaces are reserved for the neighboring restaurant.
