Had the chance to visit a Michelin one-star restaurant that focuses on Korean cuisine, and honestly—it blew me away. The dishes were crafted with so much care, using ingredients mostly sourced from Korea, and every course felt like a discovery.
It all started with a welcome dish featuring pine noodle gamju—super flavorful and surprisingly comforting. Then came a combo of veggies, mushrooms, and seaweed wrapped in this crispy shell that added the perfect crunch. The ham wrap with spring veggies had a light kimchi vibe, not too strong but a great way to kick things off.
There was a dreamy clam dish with a unique sauce, and prawn balls that were seriously next-level. One of my favorites was raw beef with pear and a house-made sauce—simple but spot on.
Then came deep-fried mugwort greens paired with sea bream—an unexpected but amazing combo. The abalone with scallop paste? Super unique and delicious.
The mains kept the bar high. Sea perch with Korean soybean paste and kimchi was tasty, but the pork jowl skewers really stood out—tender, flavorful, and paired nicely with pickled veggies. Loved the balance.
Before the beef, we got a makgeolli sorbet to cleanse the palate, which was a smart touch. Then came Hanwoo sirloin, marinated in soy sauce and grilled medium-rare—packed with flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tender.
We wrapped up with snapper rice and radish beef soup—comforting and rich. And dessert? A beautifully plated combo of persimmon and plum blossom tea, followed by a traditional yakgwa sweet that honestly made me want to fly back to Korea just for that bite again.
Such a memorable meal—creative, elegant, and deeply rooted in Korean flavors.
