The Hottest Restaurants in Nashville, Delivery Edition | Eater Nashville

"Currently available on Doordash and Uber Eats, the morning meal mecca from Mississippi-based chef John Currence is award-winning for a reason. The breakfast and lunchtime restaurant offers a menu of sweet and savory Southern dishes — house-cured bacon, buttermilk biscuits and stacked-high morning sandwiches sharing tables (at home, currently) with syrup-slathered Belgian waffles." - Delia Jo Ramsey

See Inside Nashville’s First Big Bad Breakfast, Open Today - Eater Nashville

"The Nations scores a new, much loved breakfast mainstay today, when John Currence’s Big Bad Breakfast opens for business in Nashville. The breakfast spot backed by Fresh Hospitality took over the former EiO & the Hive location, at 5304 Charlotte Avenue on the West side of town. Big Bad Breakfast features a menu of sweet and savory Southern dishes — fluffy omelets, house-cured bacon, buttermilk biscuits and stacked-high morning sandwiches, available all day every day. On the drinks side, BBB offers cocktails, including bloody marys, mimosas, and screwdrivers with fresh squeezed juice, plus an Irish Coffee modeled after the original recipe served famously at The Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco. Setting a themed scene for the brand’s first opening in Music City —a large Nashville postcard covers one wall, and there are chicken bodies donning heads of Nashville icons Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. The space offers a mix of booth, table, bar, and outdoor patio seating for 115 guests." - Delia Jo Ramsey

The Service here is excellent! Ashley was sweet, helpful and attentive without overdoing it. I ordered flapjacks with added pecan and bacon crumbles. My husband ordered eggs, spices bacon with BBB'S original grits and white bread. My foster brother ordered juevos rancheros specialty grits bowl. We also ordered 3 coffees. The total was $40.27 and it was all very delicious.

If you’re anywhere near Big Bad Breakfast, do yourself a favor and stop in — you won’t regret it! I ordered The Mother of All Biscuits and it was absolutely delicious — hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I also tried their Bloody Mary, and it was just as amazing — fresh, bold, and the perfect complement to the meal. The atmosphere was great, and the service was friendly and quick. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast/lunch during our first time to Nashville. We wanted something off the beaten path and BBB didn't disappoint. Austin was our server and was absolutely phenomenal. He made us feel right at home and recommended some incredible dishes. My husband had the Screamin Demon and I had the Redneck Benny. Both were cooked to perfection! We loved this place so much, that we went back the next morning too. Of course, we asked for Austin's section and he was just as personable the next day and remembered us from the day before. My husband had the Screamin Demon again and I had Austin's recommended Mother of all Biscuits. Both were delicious again. We will definitely go here again when we visit Nashville! HIGHLY recommend!

We are from out of town. My wife and I were looking for a good southern breakfast. BBB has that for sure. The chiliquiles grits are a well paired combination of southern and south of the border. Any of the biscuits with gravy will fill you up and hit the spot.. Ask for more gravy.

Big Bag Breakfast feels like a country diner and Denny’s had a hip, neighborhood baby. It hits that “good enough” mark across the board—nothing bad, but nothing that’ll leave a lasting impression either. This isn’t a culinary adventure, so if you’re a foodie chasing bold flavors or inventive dishes, you might walk away underwhelmed. But for travelers on the go, especially those without a kitchen in their vacation rental, it’s a solid, convenient option. Prices are about what you’d expect from a sit-down spot, and the operation runs smoothly enough to make it worth a stop if you’re hungry and nearby. All in all, it’s serviceable, predictable, and functional—like comfort food in neutral gear.

Best meal I’ve ever eaten! Best service as well! Shout out to Emy! Thanks for the great experience!

Google
The experience was great, but the table originally didn't have Maple syrup. The manager corrected things and a message to the company is to provide Maple syrup and label things. The Manassas mix acquires a taste and is not as popular as Maple.

Google
There’s was nothing “Big” about this $18+ steak and eggs breakfast. Shaved ribeye steak, bowl of gravy, biscuit and a couple of very runny eggs. Both of us ordered the same meal, both with the same quality - so not a coincedence.

Yelp
First time visiting this establishment based on the recommendation from locals. Enjoyed our experience and the food so much that we returned the next day! First day our server was Corneshia. She has a warm personality, was attentive and patient will all of our requests. Give her a raise! The second day our server was Kevin. He was meh. Almost the complete opposite of Dez (overall customer experience and personality). We ate the same thing both times. Shrimp bowl with andouille sausage (low county skillet) and wheat toast. Eggs, bacon and pancake (BBB plate). The peach jelly was delish! I appreciate Dez finding brown sugar for my coffee. Ended up with cinnamon instead of sugar on day two . We will def return the next time we're in the area and will ask for Dez! Plenty of inside and outside seating. Have outside heaters. Bathrooms were clean. Venue was packed on New Year's Day, but noise level was not loud.

Yelp
I ordered BBB through Uber Eats this morning, and we were not disappointed. This was perhaps the best biscuit I've had in Nashville. It was seasoned well, perfect amount of salt. Unfortunately the sausage gravy I ordered did not arrive with it but the biscuit was still amazing even on its own. I was skeptical of the hashbrown cake, but they were very yummy. You can tell they're freshly made and not mass-made fried hashbrown patties that so many restaurants serve. You get 2 per order. My husband ordered the Yard Works skilled which had eggs, mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peppers, spinach, with avocado and swiss cheese. It was absolutely delicious, but a small portion. Maybe that's because it was an online order, I'm not sure. The orange juice is 100% fresh squeezed and it was delightful. It's rare to find an OJ that tastes so crisp and fresh. I also enjoyed the fruit cup which had blueberries, strawberries, apples, and grapes. I love a fruit cup with berries! I'd like to eat here again, in person and try the gravy. I'd give it a 4.2 (ngl I was really bummed they forgot the gravy).

Yelp
Cool vibes, good food, good service. With Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash roosters adorning the wall to the kitchen you have to know you are in Nashville and that the music will be good. Chicken and waffles were amazing. Chicken was hot and fresh cooked and well seasoned. Real chicken breast here. The waffle was very light and fluffy and the honey on top was the perfect enhancement. We will be back.

Yelp
From start to finish terrible experience. We were sat immediately by a hostess (so far so good). Then we waited over 5 minutes just to be handed menus and we ordered coffee immediately. However, it took 15 minutes before our coffee was served to us. I ordered the Jack Benny which is a form of eggs Benedict. Pretty sure your eggs are not supposed to be over hard. When informed the waitress (who seemed more interested in her break) of the issue she brought me a side order of eggs over easy and was surprised when I sent my food back. When my new order was brought out a different server who I believe was possibly the manager brought out a new order and placed it in front of me and sternly asked "you good?" I replied "yep" and he promptly walked away. When it came time to pay they discounted my meal by $3 and didn't charge me for our 2 coffees. While I appreciate the discount, good service at regular price would have been more appreciative. I don't normally write reviews but I feel this was warranted. What a waste of a good breakfast on a Sunday morning.

Yelp
We arrived just before a Sunday morning rush of people. We had no wait to get seated. I ordered the Make it a Dirty Bird Mother of all Biscuits and a fresh squeezed OJ. The biscuit was light and flaky with a juicy piece of chicken breast topped with cheddar cheese, bacon and honey. I got the Jc's hot sauce in the side for dipping. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros Grit Bowl. We both agreed that it was delicious. We were in and out in an hour or less. The service was friendly and quick and the food was excellent.

Yelp
I liked this place and they have a lot of good options. The service and the waitress were awesome. The flavor of the food was good. The atmosphere was family friendly and the music was versatile. Didn't have to wait long to be seated or to get our food. Everything you order is Big and delicious.

Yelp
Came to Nashville for the weekend and came to this breakfast spot. It was a little busy on a Saturday morning but we were seated right away. I ordered the big bad breakfast with a side of wheat bread. Portion was a little smaller but overall still pretty good.
google avatar

Candice R.

Yelp
I'll have to try it again and give their sweet options a chance. My food was okay. It wasn't bad but it could have been better. The huevos rancheros grit bowl needed more spice and the hangtown style didn't taste seasoned enough. The food was salt and pepper to taste. The biscuit was fine but too dense for my liking. I prefer a fluffy biscuit. It wasn't dry and I was forewarned that it had pepper in it but that didn't bother me. We also had a cappuccino and an Americano, both were also fine. Our waiter, Alyssa, gave us her honest recommendations and was mindful to mention what was popular versus her own preferences. I appreciate her for this and she was nice. The parking lot was before 10:00 Am so this place is popular right now. It was also extremely loud by the time we left. The open floor plan design of most newer places makes it nearly impossible to hear each other and as a result people start talking louder .

Yelp
Great food and good atmosphere. We were pleasantly greeted and seated promptly. Server was great and stayed on top of drink refills and table needs. Food came out perfect and was better than expected.

Yelp
Food was great, lots of options, even though it was crowded and staff was busy Dez did a great job taking canteen of us!

Yelp
I came with my coworkers to Big Bad Breakfast this morning and the food was delicious. I ordered potatoes with cheese, spinach and mushrooms (I forgot the name of the dish) lol and a side pancake. Our waiter was fabulous and very sweet. We all had a great time and The ambiance is casual. I plan to return again !!

Yelp
Food was great, service excellent, was a great choice to visit for a brunch time meal!!

Yelp
We've been to the original location in Oxford, MS and while this had a decidedly different vibe, it was still delicious and professional. The Nashville outpost reminded me of a NY/NJ style diner, which is meant to be a big compliment in my eyes. Service friendly and fast, even when waiting (and there usually is a wait on weekend mornings but it goes quickly). Different options to suit all tastes, from standard breakfast items to those with southern flair. I'm a fan of the Jack Benny, but the french toast is amazing and if you're hungry, check out a skillet meal. If your meal doesn't come with a biscuit, get one on the side. Good coffee options too - nothing beats a cold brew on a warm Nashville morning. Our favorite breakfast spot in town.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant, parking is horrible but outside of that a great experience. Hardly no wait time. The server was good. I believe it was something that began with an A. She was attentive, gave great food opinions and advice. We are pescatarian and she was extremely helpful with navigating the menu. The space and seating in the restaurant was decent. You didn't feel as if you were sitting on top of each other. Being we were in town for a job holiday party with the hospital, this was a nice breakfast spot. Come to find out we have one back home, but they don't have the same menu options??? Crazy! I recommend trying this location out in Nashville. You probably won't be disappointed if our server is there. All great experiences start with a good server!

Yelp
Met out-of-town friends for lunch at another restaurant in the neighborhood but it wasn't open. A quick Yelp check and thought we would try this place. Waitlisted on the app and headed over. Wait was a bit less than predicted and the hosts were very friendly and kind. Ample menu and many options including vegan, gluten-free, etc. One in our party had a restricted diet and, Paris, our waitperson worked closely with our party and the chef to ensure the dietary needs were covered. Paris made a detailed and impressive effort to get the needs covered. Our meals were all great and the biscuits are wonderful. The dining room noise level is a little high so conversation was difficult. Otherwise, the room was clean and inviting.

Yelp
Good food, friendly staff, fair pricing. Unique and interesting stop. Yes I'd go again!

Yelp
1st review "to go order": Very fast service. I came in for a quick pickup breakfast on my way to school and it took them 15 mins from the time I got there, ordering and them handing me my food. Flash couldn't have done it any faster! I was surprised how many people where there already by 8 am. The restaurant is spacious and country modern? I order the "Cathead" chicken biscuit and the BBCB (Big Bad Cold Brew) and I honestly wasn't impressed by either. They were not bad but the items didn't hold up to the Big Bad Breakfast. It screamed the "ok breakfast". I drank it and ate most of it but it was lacking something. 2nd review: I decided to dine in. Justin was my server. He is a very polite and attentive guy. I went with his recommendation of the skillet. I ordered the Big Bad Breakfast that comes with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, potatoes, and topped with cheddar cheese and a side biscuit. It was good but it wasn't "big". It was a regular side meal (I was actually still hungry after eating almost all). I ordered a regular coffee this time around. It was good. Food came fast but not as fast as the to go order.

Yelp
Had a late breakfast This Tuesday morning, stopped into Big Bad Breakfast to give it a try. We had a great server answering ant question we had as it was our first visit. I gad the Creole omelet sub egg whites, it was massive and perfectly executed! My wife had over medium eggs with a biscuit and the chicken also very tasty. The tomato gravy was a first and i would say a must try if you have not had. Nice atmosphere a little noisy as there are a lot of hard surfaces for it to bounce around on.

Yelp
The food and staff were amazing. What a great place to visit... I stumbled on this place by accident and sat at the bar. Rachel greeted me right away and was the best to talk to. Definitely sit at the bar and ask for her if you can (heard she only works on weekends). Cannot recommend this place enough!
google avatar

Diane G.

Yelp
We sat outside and the seating was great with our dog. The cinnamon roll was a little dry but the pancakes were excellent! The staff were very attentive. Would certainly go again!
google avatar

Tijah M.

Yelp
The food here was a pretty good. I also enjoyed a iced coffee that's not pictured. I thought everything tasted decent and the service was also pretty good. There is a lot of cool local decorations around the restaurant, big Johnny cash murals. I went with my family and some people had issues with orders that didn't get corrected, I believe due to how busy they were. Overall it was a pretty good experience though.
google avatar

Warren C.

Yelp
Is there anyone better than Nikky here? I think TF not. Great conversation, tasty food, and the environment was high energy and run like a well oiled machine.
google avatar

Yelp
Wait for the table was too long. Average food. Nothing memorable about this establishment
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
We had a party of 6 adults and 1 infant for breakfast at 10:30 am on Tuesday, 5/2/23. There was a bit of a wait for a table because they had to push two tables together, but it was nothing compared to the wait on the weekends. I've heard the wait can be as long as 2 hours, so if you're able to during the week, that's the time to go! They were so accommodating and gave us a car seat stand for the infant! Here's what we got: - Chicken and Waffle ($14): I wish the chicken had more flavor, but it was good! I wouldn't get this again though. - Yard Work ($13): Good! Not as hash-y as I thought it would be, but still good. The biscuit was *~*chef's kiss*~*. - Veggie Omelet ($14): The omelets come with 2 sides and you can choose any of the sides! We got it with the pancake and crispy hash cake and both were deeeelish!! Super good! Delicious flavors! Very reasonable prices! You get the most bang for your buck with the omelet! We would 100% go back!

Yelp
Alyssa was amazing! She was very sweet and gave my husband and I some SOLID recommendations that did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the whole vibe of the place was awesome. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
A great breakfast joint in Sylvan Park and Charlotte Park area. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun breakfast spot that breaks up the monotony of Waffle House and similar places. Service was very good despite being busy. Parking is smidge difficult.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Restaurant is decorated really cute. We will definitely return. The only challenge here is parking, the lot is tiny.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Excellent service and the food was top notch. Great place for breakfast or brunch in the West Nashville area.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
First time to Nashville and this will be a regular breakfast spot each time we come back. Service was great and the food was amazing. Cute little place that is always crowded, but the wait wasn't bad at all.
google avatar

Larry E.

Yelp
We were seated immediately, I had the Creole Omelet, such a fantastic group of flavors that melted together inside the perfectly folded egg. Wifey got french toast with thick bacon & turkey. It looked so wonderful I ordered my own bacon & turkey. Orange Juice & Tea. I wholeheartedly recommend this place
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Our server was professional, friendly and helpful. Alyssa was phenomenal and made our family experience one to remember. It was are first time in Nashville and the breakfast was a hit.
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
Such a special hidden gem in Nashville!! My husband and I came with our family today and immediately fell in love with this breakfast restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful and our server was awesome. I ordered the Creole Omelet and it was probably the best omelet I've ever had! We'll definitely be back soon. The restaurant was creatively decorated on the inside and the ambiance was super welcoming. We loved everything about this place! There is also a parking lot attached to the building where customers can park for free. If that's full, we found a parking lot to park in right across the street for free. I would definitely recommend trying Big Bad Breakfast if you haven't already!
google avatar

Becca E.

Yelp
We got sat right away. Zero wait to be seated. Upbeat atmosphere. Judy was our server she was absolutely perfect and so very friendly. The food was great, drinks were on point. Sausage patties and the hash cakes are my favorite. My boyfriend got the cathead biscuit and he was pleased with it. We're big on breakfast and trust me we'll be back.

Matt E.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant I had to ask the other servers for coffee, water, and my pancake that sat under the heat lamp for 7 minutes. My server was so bad she would walk by my table and and never even look at it Food was ok but very pricey As far as returning "I don't think so"
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
My wife and I tried Big Bad Breakfast for the first time as we were in the area looking for a new breakfast spot to try. There weren't too many options on the menu so I went with the burger, which was delicious and juicy. My wife got the shrimp omelet and loved it. The staff was super friendly and it was overall a great time. The price is also not too high for being in Nashville and we felt like we got a good portion for the price. The only downside was there wasn't a ton of parking. However, we parked across the street and didn't have any problems with that so it worked out.
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
Love this place! My wife and I have been coming here for years. She loves the pancakes and I am all about the steak and eggs. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and the cappuccino is phenomenal.
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken is perfectly seasoned! The waffle absolutely delicious. Alyssa lady your service is fantastic. Thanks for letting me know about Happy Hour too! The mimosas were spot on. This is my first visit to BBB, but definitely not the last.
google avatar

Corinne W.

Yelp
Alyssa was an incredible waitress!! I got the breakfast burrito and it was a hit. Don't skip out on the bacon or the cat head biscuit with strawberry jelly- a must! The mimosas filled to the brim hit the spot after a canceled flight! 10/10 all around! Hotty toddy!!!
google avatar

Bryan W.

Yelp
They have a really great menu with tons of interesting breakfast items. Don't sleep on the adult beverages either!
google avatar

Vanessa J.

Yelp
Adorable breakfast place. Was greated in short amount of time, the only complaint was the oj machine was down... had the coffee, steak & eggs.... Omg they have these biscuits you must try! The decor is amazing, service very friendly, highly recommend this breakfast spot!

David R.

Yelp
Eureka just stumbled ( not drunk ) into BBB and was blown away by the whole enchilada. Great vibe , great service 5star Alyssa ,and incredible food . I got the Low Country Skillet with their green hot sauce ( bought a bottle to take home ) and got a side of the phenomenal French Toast. Honestly one of my all time favorite versions of it. Coffee was very good quality too. Can't wait to bring some friends and try some of their other locations . Great job whoever curated this place .
google avatar

Alisha B.

Yelp
The food was hot and fresh but lacked flavor. Our server Alyssa was accommodating. My omelette had very little tomato gravy so asked for and was charged for a side. My potato cakes were hard and my margarita was really tart with very little sweetness. I would eat here again but probably get something simple like pancakes. I also didn't like how thin the eggs ares that are used to make the omelette. 3/5
google avatar

Deborah W.

Yelp
I always have a great experience here. Servers ate always super nice. Food is good and fast
google avatar

Halle S.

Yelp
We sat at the bar since the restaurant was pretty busy, and the bar staff was very fun and friendly! We got our food quickly and ALL of it was delicious! They customized the food to our requests and dietary restriction. It was a great time! A cute restaurant with yummy food. I'd recommend!
google avatar

Sherry A.

Yelp
I love their menu and the fact that gluten friendly options are delicious. Modern diner vibe and good service. The bennys are awesome.
google avatar

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Food was good!! I had the Breakfast Crumble (described in the picture). My wife had the BBB Breakfast Plate (described in picture). The server was friendly but not overly. Other servers ensure we had a cup full of coffee. The atmosphere was a lively yet calm and inviting!! I'll come back again!!
google avatar

Yelp
First the breakfast. It was delicious. My 3 kids loved their food, my husband and I also really enjoyed it. We just moved out here from Seattle, so naturally I'm a coffee snob. I absolutely loved the coffee, and purchased a couple bags to go. I wish I could order it online. Second the waitress was very sweet and helpful. We were the difficult table that wanted all the additions and changes made that morning, and she was very patient with us, and laughed along with us as we stumbled over ourselves. Third the food was very prompt. Nothing was missing, even with the above mentioned changes and additions. Now for the part that really made me love this place. After leaving we got in our car to make the long drive home, and for some reason our ignition was all gummed up and we couldn't put our key in. We had just come back from a very awful trip to the West Coast for my father's funeral, and this was not at all what we needed. The kids and I sat in the parking lot for over 2 hours while my poor husband walked to the nearest place that had supplies for ungumming our ignition. Having younger kids I had to make the embarrassing trek into the restaurant 3 times to use their bathroom. Not once did they make us feel uncomfortable, give us a sideways glance, or even judgmentally question why we where coming in over and over. I finally thanked the manager for their patients and she was very sweet and sympathetic to what we were dealing with. They could have turned us away, they could have judged us but they were so sweet. So yes I give this place a huge endorsement and gratitude from my crew.

Yelp
I have not stopped thinking about the BBQ Cobb Salad since I ate here a week ago! I came on a Friday morning with three girlfriends. The service was super fast and our waiter was very kind. We ordered three completely different meals - my salad, a veggie and goat cheese omelette with fries, and biscuits and gravy - and all were delicious! The prices are very reasonable. There's a large parking lot, but it's a little tight and appears to get full quickly. There's street parking available when you turn off of Charlotte.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, but her food is great the service was great and the ambience was just fine... Even the bathrooms were clean and smell just wonderful. I have a couple photos that I will upload, the omelette was mine and the other dish was my lovely wife's! I'm sure we will be back time and again in the future! Thank y'all for a wonderful experience, this is not a fake review neither! I'm attaching three photos: On the plate is there creole omelette which has shrimp andouille sausage onions tomatoes cheddar cheese and topped with tomato gravy and green onions, it was phenomenal! In the bowl is shrimp and grits, creamy grits covered with sautéed gulf shrimp with bacon, tomatoes, tomato broth, red eye gravy and a fried egg, my wife tells me it was fantastic and I thought so myself once I convinced her to give me a bite, lol!
