I was weary of trying this place but I pulled myself to try it, and I was not disappointed. I loved that they answered my questions and gave recommendations. My big boss sandwich was so good, the smallest amount of heat will give you a tingly lip, but you’ll be fine if you are used to spicy food. The fries were not that great, just plain, as expected, but they were too soft. The steak and fried rice combo was a little misleading according to the pictures they have on the menu where you see a big cut of a steak 🥩 compared to what you actually get. Additionally, I didn’t like the rice, but I enjoyed the vegetables.

I read all these amazing reviews and decided to check this out. Thinking it would be good, I convinced my boyfriend to venture there on a rainy day. Maybe I was over hyped about it, but the experience felt off. We both ordered medium big boss chicken sandwiches and the sweet potato fries. The sandwich was alright, the sauce was really good but beyond that I wasn’t into the patty. The sweet potato fries needed some seasoning or salt or something. My cup of water had some specs of dirt floating in the bottom. It was a bummer and I ended up apologizing to my boyfriend for taking him here. I really had high hopes.

From the moment I walked into Big Boss Spicy Fried Chicken, I knew I was in for a treat. The smell of crispy fried chicken wafted through the air, and the staff greeted me with friendly smiles. The menu offered a variety of options, but I decided to go for the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Let me tell you, that sandwich did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked - juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside - and the spice level was just right. The bun was soft and fresh, and the toppings (choice of spice level, onions, coleslaw, jalapenos, butter bun) added a nice balance to the heat. And those waffle fries? We just came back from Nashville not long ago and we had been craving for fried chicken. If you’ve been to Nashville, one of the food you must try is the fried chicken. Anyway, we saw this restaurant has quite good reviews and decided to come and try. We ordered the chicken sandwich and the wings. The chicken sandwich was medium spicy, but it was already very spicy for my husband. We usually have quite spicy food, but medium level was already very spicy for my husband so it means it’s VERY spicy. The chicken wings were mild, and it already had some kicks. I enjoyed this one better. The fried chickens were very tasty, not just the batter only but also the meats. The only thing I didn’t like was the chicken wings were so big, each wing looked like a turkey leg. I wish they were smaller. Overall: Menu: 4stars Service: 5stars Food: 4stars Price: $

Food: I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with medium heat since it was noted to "feel the burn". So, I will start by saying I did commute with this sandwich home. It smelled delicious the whole way home, so I was eager to try it. I will say I wish I had tried it fresh out of the kitchen to give a complete justified review. With that said, the chicken sandwich wasn't as crispy or as crunchy in terms of coating as I had dreamed of. But I blame that partially on me for waiting to eat it until I got home. If anything, the texture of the coating on the chicken was slightly soggy. The slab of chicken used for the sandwich was a nice big portion which was moist even after the commute. The heat on this "mild/medium" was extremely underwhelming. The jalapeno and slaw gave this sandwich a slight boost in terms of a flavor enhancement but not enough to steal the show. With all that said, I would not personally venture out to try this sandwich again. Service: Order at the counter upon walking in. You can order at a small tablet on the counter or through the cashier. She handed me a menu. I ordered. She disappeared into the back. Popped out to tell me I could sit while I waited. Went back. Popped back out with my food in a to-go bag when it was ready. Atmosphere: To begin with, this vibrantly illustrated restaurant front is out on a dingey street corner, cracked sidewalk, right before a viaduct. It's not the most welcoming and appealing spot to be in. On the inside, it's not wildly better. When this place first opened, I can see from past photos that the floors were creatively drawn and written on. Now, however, the floor looks like it has drops of painting everywhere haphazardly. The floor has seen better days I'm sure. Seating is very basic and limited. There were a few customers inside. The place just seemed a little in the run-down side. I didn't have enough time to dine-in but wouldn't have wanted to if I could.

Not exactly the best chicken sandwich. However, it will definitely fill you up. It's a little bit on the greasy side. I think their potato wedges were pretty good and their lemonade was very tasty. In my opinion, I don't think this particular place would hold up with other fast food restaurants like Popeye's or Chick-fil-A. Although, this place is just OK!

The chicken sandwich is tasty, especially the coleslaw. Loved the curly fries! My only issue was the bathroom. It was dirty (toilet seat covered in urine), the seat was loose and the soap was watery. I would eat there again but probably get take out.

Loved everything we got, except the Mac and cheese. It wasn't horrible, just not my favorite item. Hubby and I got the hot chicken sandwich and it has the perfect kick. Oh and the coconut shrimp are bomb!! I also loved their lemonade. The fried potstickers were also good.

I only came here once and it was awhile ago. I got the big boss sandwich with regular spicy level. I loved it. A good amount of spice, meat was juicy, and the sandwich was huge. Price wasn't too bad. It was easy to find free street parking located by that park. I took it to go since the place wasn't big. I'll have to try this again the next time I'm in the area.

So incredibly bland. The cheese dog is first half mozzarella cheese and then half a hot dog. Definitely not enough seasoning in the breading. It was coated with granulated sugar. It was served with a cafeteria-style honey mustard. Their signature large sandwich was also disappointing. The chicken patty is composed of thigh meat. Both meat and breading need a splash of flavor

Usually the service/food is pretty good! However that was not the case when I went with my friends yesterday. Both of them got chicken tenders and reported feeling ill. I got a curry meal box and felt fine. The Thai tea tasted off, I didn't order it but my friends said it wasn't worth finishing. They ended up throwing it out after a couple of sips. We dined in and the inside felt like they haven't turned on any kind of heating for the restaurant and the cashier was noticeably sick. This restaurant should take better care of it's employees. It was so cold we all left our jackets on while we ate.

My goodness, I was seriously not expecting this sando to be so BAD!!! I really should've taken the sticky and unclean window countertop as a sign to leave to begin with. Also what is it with these eateries and their colorful, eclectic graffiti art? I've been to a few others with that same 'hipster' art and food has been either mid or downright nasty. Lesson learned now, I suppose. I am upgrading to 2 stars, mainly due to the cashier's willingness to issue me a refund for the sando which I greatly appreciated. This does not, however, dismiss my sheer disappointment with this sando. Two measly bites and I was done! And I didn't even get to the rest of the toppings. I think you would understand why I couldn't finish the rest of this monstrosity by looking at the insides of it. Like is this really even chicken or what?? The perfectly rectangular shape of my "chicken" resembled that of an elementary school cafeteria style chicken patty, except with somewhat more visually appealing breading. Never have I EVER seen a chicken sando portion from a restaurant shaped like this. I couldn't put my finger on what it was supposed to be: a thigh? Breast? Neck? Gizzards? Liver? Scrap parts all formed together? Yeah, that's likely it. Certainly a red flag in my book! The juices, for the record, came only from the outlying grease of the breading rather than the meat itself. The sliced jalapenos looked fresh but the coleslaw smelled absolutely rancid! Bun was nicely buttered and toasted, but dry as could be. The one American cheese slice I added couldn't have bothered to be melted either! I've been to Nashville so I do believe I know my hot chicken quite well. With that being said, the 'burn' sensation on my lips was there at least, having ordered the highest spice level. And I'm all for internationally inspired hot chicken, but it must be good (meaning fresh and well prepared/seasoned) in order to win over my approval. The waffle fries were clearly frozen, and the oil used for them tasted at least a week old. No dipping sauce could ever have salvaged those lost causes, that's for sure! I do not recommend overall and promise you're far better off going to Dave's or Fry The Coop. Seriously, you'll thank me later!!

This place has good overall reviews which caused me to give them a shot. Upon walking in I was greeted with a filthy, dungeon that was immediately off putting! I thought they specialized in chicken but they sell a ton of Asian food as well which also threw me off. The presentation of the food was gross. It looked burnt & inedible. Then I look at more recent reviews & several people mentioned getting sick & I was mentally checked out then! I took a bite , found it to be overly seasoned but still had no taste. I know that makes no sense but it was gross. I threw it out!

Big boss spicy fried chicken is one of my favorite fried chicken spots in Chicago. This is definitely distinct from Korean Fried Chicken spots- here the fried chicken is more of a blend between Nashville hot and Asian themed flavors. I would highly recommend the spicy fried chicken sandwich- it is absolutely gigantic and less than $10. The sandwich has a little more mayo based sauce than I typically like, but other than that it is great. I would also note that the chicken here gets soggy if you carry out, so for the best texture and taste would recommend dining in!

Got the signature sandwich with medium spice. It was quite yummy, and honestly incredible considering the price. It was one of the few times the chicken was significantly bigger than the bun. Service was a bit slow but I was also a part of a bit crowd - just make sure to hold on to the receipt! Would recommend :)

Woman-owned fried chicken shop in the South Loop area! I was excited to check them out after reading reviews and seeing other news articles. Inside is painted murals across all the walls, similar to the outside, so it really stands out on the street. They have lunch specials during the week that is a great value! We got the chicken sandwich with two drumsticks for around $10. You can only pick one flavor with the combo, which we chose Big Boss Hot (the highest level). She did warn us, but our spice level is pretty high. Chicken Sandwich - large piece of chicken and it was juicy inside with a nice crispy exterior. The accompanied slaw was fresh and dressed well. The flavor was a little sweet when you first bite into it but you can definitely feel the heat as you continue eating. Drumsticks - good sizes and were also nice and crispy. You could definitely feel the heat more in this style (very likely because there's none of the extra stuff). I still really enjoyed the flavor. Would definitely come back!

So I've been here a couple times and what brings me back is the popcorn chicken. It's crispy and they put this powder seasoning over it that has just the right amount of spice. Goes great with any dipping sauce. The sweet potato and curly fries are both solid. The big boss chicken sandwich is a no for me. It's just a giant chicken patty that doesn't ever come out crispy. I've he it twice. After that second time I'm sticking to the popcorn chicken. I've just picked up my food. The interior isn't too inviting. The lady behind the counter seems upset every-time I'm in. I still leave her a tip. Hopefully life gets better for her. Fried chicken is their main attraction here but I'm not crazy about it in general. I enjoy my chicken in sándwich or dipping form.

I was just a guest at a house that had ordered the family tray for pickup and all I can say is wow! I've eaten a lot of fried chicken, but this was so flavorful and juicy and still crispy after arriving home (they smartly poke holes in the foil so it doesn't get steam soggy). I especially appreciated that the meat, not just the skin, had flavor all the way through. They also provided some medium and spicy sauce on the side, but the chicken itself had just a hint of heat without it and I liked that a lot. Chicken pieces are extra large and just a couple are very filling. We will definitely add this to our list of places to go for excellent fried chicken!

Big boss fried chicken has the best lunch special (sandwich plus options which I took 2 tenders hot plus can soda for around $12 with tax) and equally delicious fried chicken sandwich! Who doesn't like a fried tender delicious oversized chicken thigh patty? Seriously need to bite multiple times before getting to the actual bread! This is what I call the best meat to bread ratio. The medium heat was the right amount of heat with their slaw doing the perfect balance to the heat and giving texture. Tenders were delicious and hot was spicy but flavorful. Nothing dry inside!

Good food screams loudly I was recommended by a friend to come here and I wasn't disappointed at all I will come back soon

My coworkers and I decided to get Big Boss for lunch since our office is only 7 minutes away. Three of us really like spicy food. We just got the medium spice level though, because we were scared of it being way too spicy. To me, the medium spicy was perfect (for an office lunchtime meal, if you know what I'm saying ;)). It was creamy, savory, and had just the right amount of kick. One of my coworker who LOVES spicy said she should have went with the highest level of spice but the medium was enough to satisfy her cravings. I would say the only complaint is that we wished the breading was more crunchy. However, we didn't eat it freshly made, so it was still pretty good for the time it spent waiting for us to eat it. The chicken patty itself was juicy and huge! It could definitely be halved and turned into another sandwich. My coworkers agreed that next time, we will definitely be sharing!

This is the best chicken I have ever had. Jumbo wings fried perfectly not greasy. Big Boss sandwich just excellent. Sides very tasty.

We had the friend chicken (spicy), takoyaki, tempura sweet potato and curly fries with cheese. For a place with fried chicken in the name, the fried chicken was pretty underwhelming - a bit dry, a bit too greasy and the sauce was ketchupy thick and weird. Everything else was pretty good - I'd skip the chicken and order Asian if I ordered here again.

We ordered sandwiches and the chicken was horrible - it tasted like the chicken was spoiled.

I love love love Big Boss! Some of the best hot chicken I've ever had. I like the tenders over the traditional pieces which is a little unusual, but they're always cooked so perfectly and the sauces are awesome. They have a bunch of Korean inspired sides and appetizers alongside traditional American ones like fries and macaroni & cheese.

This location is very easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Right off the intersection and across from the gas station you would not expect a restaurant of this quality to be nestled next to an overpass and an apt complex. This is a very no frills restaurant with friendly staff and a very good chicken sandwich. There isn't a big overhead menu so you just read off paper menus but workers are very helpful. I would highly recommend checking out the specials you have available. There aren't that many tables inside and I came on a cold day so the restaurant wasn't the warmest. The food was excellent and made fresh while all having very generous portions. I had the spicy sandwich and tenders on the side and that was a very big meal for the price. There's a lot of other options on the menu left to try and hoping to go back for lunch soon.

I really wanted to like this place. The outside graffiti looks awesome and the boss lady is a boss. However, the multiple times I ordered takeout from there, the chicken was not very crispy anymore after my 5 min drive home - even with me trying to vent it as soon as I got back into the car. The flavors are good & the spicy does have some kick to it - your best bet is to just dine-in and not have to worry about keeping it fresh for the drive home.

I ordered on Grubhub for a couple coworkers and I was raving about the place because of all the reviews I had seen. To my disappointment my order was wrong and not very good at all. I called the restaurant to see if things could be fixed and they were no help at all :( I was so disappointed with my sandwich, it wasn't crispy at all. Maybe it would be better fresh. I did enjoy my fries and drink. The fact that my co workers were not happy with their meal and the bad customer service, I do not recommend this place.

My favorite fried chicken sandwich in the city hands down! Careful, if your tolerance for spiciness is not high, try ordering a level down from the heat. The chicken is juicy and crispy as it should be. Awesome street art, so be sure to capture some snaps on your way in or out.

They are always slammed and could benefit from hiring staff. But the food is great. Have done big and small orders here and am never disappointed.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn't disappoint. We ordered a few things: Big boss chicken sandwich (hot), fried calamari, waffle fries, Mac and cheese, strawberry boba, and a passion fruit drink. Everything was great! The Mac and cheese was truly so good. The chicken sandwich was pretty spicy but just too big, I prefer smaller, thinner pieces of chicken. The inside was nice, pretty small, and the employees were nice as well. The boba was very sweet, I'd recommend not getting 100% sugar and the fried calamari was pretty much perfection.

Very crusty and very spicy. If you're in the neighborhood order for delivery. Not really a place to hang out.

Big Boss Spicy Fried Chicken offers plenty of fried chicken dishes for everywhere. I personally like their fried chicken sandwich for their extra large piece of chicken. It spills over the sandwich! The sandwich is paired with a good amount of chopped sweet onions and house sauce. Very tasty. Don't forget to order a side of cheese fries!

Ridiculously good chicken... can't wait to go back. The chicken wings were so big, now I understand why the food is kinda pricey because your portions are Huge.

I tried it for the first time 2 years ago, my friend and I thought it was amazing for the flavor and the portion of the sandwiches! Went back to try it for the second time 3 months ago m, it tasted greasy and not as good, quiet bland.

I found out about this place on Chicago's best. I am so glad we decided to stop here. Their chicken sandwiches are amazing!!! They are HUGE! I decided to order mine with no sauce and a mild heat, the sandwich comes with jalapeño, onions, spicy mayo and coleslaw for $8. If you want to add cheese it's an extra $1. The sandwich was amazing and it's also on a buttery toasted bun. The chicken was well seasoned, very juicy and cooked to perfection. My fiancé ordered the big boss chicken sandwich, but he got his with medium heat. He says it was very spicy, but he loved it. We both agreed the cheese for $1 was not worth it, so that's the only thing we would probably change

I didn't like the chicken sandwich because it was to fatty and slimy. The cheese fries are the only reason this place get two stars.

Came in to enjoy the spicy chicken that they're known for. it was super spicy! so be careful which one you pick. Corn dog was half cheese and hotdog.. that was so good! fries were good and the lady who served us was good. my drink that i ordered was alright had black seeds inside and pineapple. We ordered the chicken sandwich. wasn't good at all due to the chicken looking weird and old.. so we just threw it away and went on with our day. we're not karen's around here lol

One of my favorite places in Chicago for a fried chicken sandwich. It's so juicy and flavorful. I love the medium spice level as it's the right balance and the portion is a nice size. I never leave hungry! The service was great too. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and craving a fried chicken sandwich!

Taking a s**t was painful after eating their Big Boss xtra xtra spicy sandwich. And that's *exactly* what I wanted. Is that TMI? I don't think so. You need to know. Why the hell else are you reading this? (Also hell flames might be a good analogy) I mean, I'm not sure what my gastroenterologist thinks of this, but I crave the burn. There were moments of time while eating that I couldn't feel my throat. Don't worry, you don't have to order it that hot. you can do mild or medium, hot or even xtra hot. But BIG BOSS HOT is at the top. Spicy chicken for real.

Prior to coming here, I was thinking to myself why they don't name their chicken after Nashville hot chicken since it appears nearly identical, but afterwards there's a big reason why. It's because it's not hot chicken. It's like a hot chicken but with like an Asian twist. When we walked in there was nobody to greet us. Then this lady comes out of her little office and asks us what we wanted to order. When we were still looking at the menu, she got impatient and said she'd be right back and then went back into her office for a couple of minutes. Since I've been tricked before with the "hot" which has a huge kick to it at other Nashville hot chicken joints, I assumed I shouldn't get anything hotter than hot. So I ordered hot. My wife ordered their mild. Neither of them had any kick to it. The interior is a little confusing. It's like they're trying to be hip serving Asian fusion Nashville hot chicken sandwich while playing reggaeton. Not really sure what kind of crowd they're trying to please here. But the whole inside was covered in very colorful graffiti art. The chicken itself was ok. Like stated before, it wasn't really hot, but it was a huge piece of chicken. Yes bigger than Popeyes. The chicken was tender and very juicy so they get a big plus for that, and would probably return for that reason only. You also get a leg and thigh for an additional dollar when you spend $15 or more so we got one and it was crispy and heavily battered, but still tasted great.

Great spot! I came on a Saturday at 3pm and got a big boss spicy chicken sandwhich , macaroni, and passion fruit tea. Food was great! I love the proportions and quality of food especially the chicken. It really beats popeyes and kfc and all of them. Service was great , the lady at the counter was very nice and attentive. Clean bathrooms and overall restraunt, I'll def come again

I don't have the greatest spice tolerance, but when they say it is spicy you best believe it. I would urge you to stay on the cautious side and get less spicy than you think you can handle. You can also ask for sauce on the side, which is what I did. That being said the sauce is SUPER TASTY and I would not recommend just getting the sandwich without the sauce. The chicken itself is also well cooked and moist in addition to being HUGE. Super worth money wise The only thing is Even though we were the only people in the place, we had to ask 3 times for the sauce on the side even though we had asked right when we ordered. By the end though we did get it and it was worth it!

Cheese corn dog and fried dumplings were soo good! Chicken box is crispy. the big boss sandwich is BIG. My friend really loved it & said that they'll never want a Popeyes chicken sandwich ever again lol. Sauce has good flavor and perfect level of spice. Mac and cheese needed a little salt and you may want to ask them to fry the chicken longer if you'd like. The fruit tea was very refreshing and tasty! Overall happy to try this place and will hopefully be back.

4.5 stars. Split a Team Box A between two people. The portions are huge and the spice is real. So tread lightly if you can't handle spice! The cashier was very kind and offered to have us sample the teas before we ordered. Don't be tricked, the Passion Fruit Tea isn't the fruit passionfruit, it's a Fruit Tea...that has passion. Inside, there are seats along the window and 4-5 tables around the middle. The seats along the window aren't super clean and there were flies around, so I moved to a table. Aside from giving you your order, they don't really check on you. There are additional condiments and utensils by the trash can. The restroom there is small, but pretty clean. ALSO you get 20% off when you check in the first time!

Met a friend for lunch. We each had chicken sandwiches...his mild, mine medium. Delicious. The chicken was one and a half- times the size of the bun. after we were done he ordered two sandwiches to go so that he and his wife could have them for dinner. Will return.

Finally made a stop to try the chicken everyone talked about. You can't miss the place the outside is all painted with a big chicken. The inside has painted walls with the same color scheme, a few tables and chairs and counter along the window. Very simple and no frills. The kitchen is behind a door. No window or opening to see into the kitchen. You talk to the hostess at the desk and she goes into the kitchen to get your order. Who doesn't love cheese fries. The cost of the cheese fries is a bit high. But I think because the fries are waffle and curly fries that could be the cost difference between other places. We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. One flavored crispy which was plain and the second sandwich was medium spicy. We ordered 1 of each to split. The plain was exactly plain. It had a little coleslaw and jalapeño slices but that's all the seasoning on the sandwich. I wish there was more of the coleslaw on the sandwich. It was good but not enough. The medium spicy was spicy but it was different. It seemed to be powdered spice. I was hoping for a saucy spice. The spice level was good for me. The sandwiches are nice portion. The chicken on the sandwich was bigger than the bun. It's great if you are eating little to no carbs. I think I would order it without the bun and more coleslaw if possible. Not sure if I'll try the other chicken entrees. The cost for the wings seem a little high. But the sandwich is good. Don't forget your yelp check in discount.

The most disgusting food ! The chicken was raw! I am getting sick from eating it! Avoid at all cost. Only good thing was the corn. Gross undercooked chicken

If you're craving a HUGE fried chicken sandwich, look no further than Big Boss. You can select the spice level- I ordered mine medium spicy. Half of the chicken is contained in the bun, with the other half sticking out. Only go if you're hungry :P

I recently went to Nashville for the 4th time and having tried 6+ "hot chicken" spots there, I always return to Chicago with a hankering for even more spicy chicken-so when I saw this spot had recently opened I had to check them out! The restaurant is small with a impressive street art design, the menu is concise, and the food was delicious! I ordered the Big Boss chicken sandwich since it comes with slaw, jalapeños, raw onion, and butter bun for a nice first visit variety. I ordered Medium spice and found the flavor really good! This is Nashville Hot style chicken with an ever so slight Asian twist-I'll definitely do Hot next time because while Medium has a good(and flavorful!) kick, I was looking for a more masochistic experience. The slaw is your basic chopped creamy slaw, which is great if you're ordering Hot or spicier-and the chicken portion itself was huge and juicy! I was barely able to finish it for dinner. I also ordered their fruit tea which had chunks of strawberry? Kiwi, grapefruit, and grapes in a refreshing passion fruit tea reminiscent of what you can find in nearby Chinatown. My friend also ordered the pickle salad as a side which was a banchan-esque cup of marinated cucumber, carrot, and radish thinly sliced. Compliments the spicy chicken well! Don't sleep on their fried chicken platters that's my next meal there!

I heard about this place from some of my fellow Bridgeport denizens, saying they were kind of in love with this spicy chicken sandwich. I love chicken. I love fried chicken. I enjoy convenience. And I enjoy trying new places. This location being a 5 minute drive from home, this was an easy try for a weekday lunch. I spontaneously drive over during a work from home day, around 1:30 to avoid any crowds. That part was successful. As I parked on Halsted, a party of 4 walked out smiling and looking very full. This already seemed promising. The decor inside and out is colorful graffiti, chicken motifs, and a convenient Instagrammable spot by the cash register. The owner took my order and gave me some recommendations for side dishes. Even though I'm buying take out for 2, my lack of discipline causes me to order for 3.5 to maximize menu spread. She was very helpful with the heat level (I ended up with mild-dry for everything), and she told me they make their own BBQ sauce in house. 1 sandwich, 1 half chicken, 1 quarter dark, 1 order of sweet potato fries. It did take 15 minutes to prep my food, even though I'm the only person in the restaurant. I can't imagine the wait if it's packed there, I think I'll call ahead next time if I'm ordering out. It seems like they were fresh, hand breading everything. Perhaps a tip is to pre-hand bread some items like Church's? It's still fresh but faster? My short drive home was filled with the aroma of freshly fried chicken, I couldn't wait but only managed to devour a piece of well toasted, thick cut white bread. Food: first off, it's hot, spicy hot. Like the mild is a medium for a lot of people. Even my wife who frequently devours spicy food commented on the level of heat. If you like spicy food, this is the place for you. I recommend trying a few different levels to gauge this for yourself. The chicken sandwich is huuuuge. See photo. It's like 2 chicken thigh cutlets combined, which to me is a great value. Tender, juicy, flavorful, great crunch with the tangy, sweet pickles to balance it. Beats the pants off white meat everytims. I'm not sure why certain people always go for white meat, over priced, drier, less flavorful. If you are on a diet, just don't eat it. Why punish yourself. Instead, treat yourself to this sandwich. The rest of the chicken was delicious, very spicy, and crucht batter. The batter itself is thick, thicker than I prefer but still good. The heat slowed me down so I had to savor each bite. Sweet potatoes fries are large slices of sweet potato, more like a sweet potato tempura which is different gives you more heft. I wish they would give you more than two pieces of toast, unless you only get one piece of toast per chicken order, and a little packet of pickles. I would have liked more. Same with the BBQ sauce for $1. I guess we are paying a premium here, but small deductions for value. I still recommend this to people, especially the sandwich. Nice addition to the neighborhood.

I got their chicken sandwich, french toast, and an extra chicken quarter for $1 (a deal they offer if you spend above a certain amount). The chicken sandwich was great! Large and the medium (was not too spicy). One thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that there was an extra charge for cheese but the person taking the order didn't say that. She just rattled off a bunch of toppings (all the others are included) and asked if that was alright. Not the best practice. The french toast was also not the best. It looked better in pictures than it tasted. It was kind of dry. Maybe some more condensed milk as a topping would help. The chicken leg quarter was good. Overall, I'd give this place another chance for the chicken sandwich (without the cheese).

After my first visit here a year ago, I came back to try the same meals again. I am very impressed with the change they made in the food, as it seems the owners listened to the feedback and reviews! This time, the chicken are battered perfectly with the same taste & improved presentation! The chicken sandwich is still big as ever and the hot sauce is fire. The chicken and sandiches are worth the prices (~$8-$13). They also expanded their menu to onclude more combos and other sides. I am really happy to see that the locally owned chicken business is still around, and made great improvements.

If I could give no stars I would. I came here last Friday and ordered the lunch special which consist of chicken sandwich + 2 drumsticks + soda, and I ordered a side of fries. I chose non spicy, no sauce and no slaw. I asked the lady who took my order, who was extremely rude, very short with responses and had a huge attitude. When I asked the young lady, "was all of my order in the bag?" she stated yes, with an attitude, so I did not open my bag, in order to preserve its heat. When I got back to my desk which is at least a 15 minute drive, my order was WRONG. My order came with SAUCE, SLAW and NO DRUMSTICKS. The lunch special is priced at $9.95, plus a side order of fries is $4.25, bringing my total to over $15. So, imagine how PISSED I was when I could not eat my meal. I do not eat spicy food or slaw. My co workers claim the food here is delicious, hands down. I wish I would have had a better experience. I would love to come back to try the food, but yall need some time to get it together. To the rude counter girl, if you don't like your job or hate people.....QUIT. You CANNOT work with the public and be mad or rude when customers order food at a restaurant or modify their orders.

This place is da bomb. Didn't expect too much in the beginning but changed my mind quick. Their chicken is totally different than what you would find at the franchise beginning with a "P". Their sauce is WoW !! That also depends on how you like your heat.

Fantastic! It is like Nashville chicken if a guy from Beijing made it. We ordered the sandwich at the spiciest level, a no sauce chicken quarter, and a box A split 50/50 at medium and spicy. We also ordered the pickles and sweet potatoes. Spiciest level is very spicy and I like spicy things. So beware. Take breaks in between bites spicy. Each spice level is still very flavorful. Medium has a touch of hot, but should be fine for most people. Sandwich is big. Definitely an entree. Pickles are sort of like pickled daikon and sweet cucumbers. Sweet potatoes are tempura style and very good. I would definitely come back.
