"Big Chickie — a fast-casual Peruvian chicken spot in Hillman City that was a local favorite — will close permanently after service this Friday. The restaurant had a five-year run, serving up succulent portions of pollo a la brasa, along with cheesy empanadas and slow-cooked roast pork." - Gabe Guarente

"This Peruvian rotisserie chicken spot keeps things super casual, so it’s an ideal choice if your social circle includes some small children, or you just don’t want to spend a ton of money. There’s a huge patio where you can enjoy your chicken plus great sides like kale apple salads, cheesy potatoes, and yucca fries, not to mention really good dipping sauces (our favorites are the yellow and the creamy spicy). Getting a few rounds of cheesy corn empanadas is pretty much mandatory, and bottles of wine for $20 are difficult to pass up. If you don’t finish things with a homemade chocolate cinnamon brownie, you’ve made a mistake." - Aimee Rizzo

"This former service station in Hillman City is a busy hub of charcoal rotisserie chicken, Peruvian style. On equal footing with the crisp chicken are the sides and salads, like a kale apple salad studded with golden raisins and red cabbage." - Jenise Silva

Great food and you get alot of it!! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Chicken has good flavor on its own, suggest the Orange sauce, not the BBQ so much (sauces are on the side). We got the kale apple salad, beans and rice, plantains, slaw and spicy carrots, they were all really good. We will be back soon.

The best charcoal roasted chicken in Seattle and an excellent selection of sides. The spicy carrots are a delectable treat, and their sangria is excellent. Decent selection of beer if fruity wine isn't your thing. Covered outdoor seating is great in the summer. Bring some friends and share half a chicken, you won't regret it.

It was pretty good, I like the vibe for sure, its a walk up style and there are a lot of choices. I personally found the food to be extremely seasoned for Peruvian food, but it was good. I had the empanadas, beef, which were quite salty, and the collard greens had too much vinegar for a vegetable that has so much alkaline to begin with but they were seasoned nicely. The sweet corn bread was a nice palette break from the salt. Do try the spicy white sauce, it is tasty with the empanadas, as was the verde. Cans and bottled drinks are spendy but the food portion makes up for it, they are outrageously large for the price. Maybe it was just me, maybe it was an off day, I would eat here again though, to find out either way. Very nice staff for certain, helpful smiling faces. :D

Loved the sweet potatoes! There are always a ton of bees surrounding the dining area which is kind of the worst. The food is good and I like that they have a bunch of sauces to choose from.

This little gem along Rainier Ave is quick and pretty tasty. The sauces vary from jalapeno garlic lime to the classic BBQ sauce so any sauce fan will enjoy their selection. The meal is comforting and reminiscent of cafeteria lunches due to the steel trays they use. This is a plus because it's not pretentious. My only gripe is that the chicken lacks a bit of flavor beneath the flavorful skin so it's a little over-reliant on the sauce you pick. Otherwise, if you like rotisserie chicken and filling side dishes then check it out!
