Best Soul Food Southern Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Atlanta native Marcus “Big Daddy” Sabir grew up on the Westside. He worked in butchery for a supermarket in his neighborhood before branching out on his own with a food stand in the grocery’s parking lot decades ago. From there, Sabir grew to have multiple locations, including a cafe on Riverdale Road, a deli on Old National, and now two cafeterias — one in Decatur and one on Campbellton Road. The SWATS (Southwest Atlanta, too strong) location, even for its size and deep parking lot, is easy to miss due to the sprawl in the surrounding area. But, pull up and walk inside for a hearty meal featuring meat, two sides, and a muffin. Standouts include the savory beef tips, baked jerk turkey wings, smothered pork chops, and the juicy pot roast. Big Daddy’s is generous with the side portions, too, like pinto beans, yellow rice, steamed cabbage, okra, and yam souffle." - Mike Jordan

Southwest Atlanta Dining Guide

"Sitting in a standalone building that could have easily been a KFC in a former life, Big Daddy’s (unaffiliated with the Cascade business of the same name) has been a steady soul food option for decades on Campbellton Road. The spacious cafeteria-style eatery’s loyal base loves the big selection (two rows of daily options) and portions so generous you need both hands to carry your plate. We usually go safe and satisfying with fried chicken, yams, and collards on most days. But if we’re wearing our elastic waist pants, we do a massive helping of shredded turkey over rice with a side of black-eyed peas." - demarco williams, nina reeder, jacinta howard

Food was tasty. Beef liver, mac and cheese and corn. All had great flavor. My.children are picky and they killed the friend chicken along with mac and cheese. Only thing i would change was i wish they had unsweet tea. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Had a steady pick up and go business while we dined in.

Only reason the place even gets a star is because an employee helped me bring my food to my car. The meatloaf was over seasoned. The fried turkey wings were pathetic, dried to the point that you might as well call it Jerky turkey the dressing looks and taste like stove top dressing. The price is extremely high for the quality of food being served. I paid over $70 for complete trash. I will never go back to this place. Y'all should check out A-1 sould food the prices are reasonable and they have some of the best soul food in the A.

First time trying the food here and I enjoyed it! The food as seasoned and good. Good service, food, drinks, and a sizable eating area. The menu here is packed with a great selection of food. Many people come here so don’t be surprised to meet a line!

Google
Ill tell you what, from entering the restaurant til you leave, you feel like family. I ordered the Jerk Wing dinner combo with rice bedding, Collard Greens, and mashed potatoes. Took it right back to the house. I ate about half of it and stored the rest. Took a 3 hours nap and then finished my plate finger licking good. I'll be back to try more of what their menu has to offer. Satisfied customer and will return when I'm back in ATL.

My husband and I stopped by Big Daddy's Kitchen on our way from Atlanta visiting my family to head back on the road. We had a taste for something home cooked, with flavor, and with southern charm. This restaurant felt like home and history at the same time.BDK was that and more. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked into the door. We were met with a table full of desserts. The staff behind the counter were nice and patient with us as we were out of towners new to the setup and routine on how to order. Later, the owner or manager came to give us extra items to enjoy our dining experience and shared some good conversations. We also got well more than what I expected for our oxtail meal in portions! The food tasted phenomenal! We later saw other customers come to sit and enjoy which is rare these days because most people get their food and go. The funny thing is we saw this restaurant in passing in looking for another restaurant in wanting to try something new and got a different vibe when we walked in, so we left and remembered BDK on the same road. We will definitely be back to visit. Thanks Big Daddy's Kitchen for the experience! ❤️😍😁🤗

Google
I usually enjoy the food here, which is why I have 4 stars overall but today was a disappointment. My turkey wing was overcooked, dry, and smaller than usual. I could tell it wasn’t fresh—rather than picking one from the top, the server grabbed one from the bottom and put it on my plate. It was very crowded, and I didn’t want to make a fuss, but I should’ve spoken up. Also, the cashier with the short haircut had a terrible attitude—rude and unprofessional. Experiences like that drive customers away. On top of that, I asked for light ice in my lemonade and ended up paying for a full cup of ice. Next time, I’ll be more vocal about my order, but the staff needs to be more attentive and respectful, even during busy times.

Google
This is definitely a "local" place. The line was of people stopping in was almost continuous, and they were consistently needing to make more of the daily special (this is not a bad thing in this case). The style of restaurant is sort of a cafeteria line but willing to make things not on the line if need be. The protein selection definitely had flavor, amazing flavor. I didn't get to try any of the collared greens or vegetables as I was in a carbo load, but a good portion of people where getting that as a side as well. All and all I would definitely go to this place again and recommend it to anyone finding themselves in this part of Atlanta

We went to the Cafe but decided to leave after standing in that line for about 5 mins because we wanted to dine in. So we came to this location where the line was a bit shorter. I got baked turkey wings and dressing with collards and macaroni n cheese. The wings had too much fat under the skin and not enough meat and they were BLAND. The dressing was also a bland cornbread base with bland gravy on top. A little seasoning ain't never hurt nobody. The collards were the texture I like (not overcooked) but they were sitting in oil???? The mac n cheese had way too many hard pieces of pasta and a velveeta taste to it. My husband (greedy) got an oxtail plate with white rice and macaroni n cheese and collards. He ALSO got a beef short rib plate with dressing n gravy along with yams and potato salad. I tasted the oxtails, they were TOUGH as leather. I also tasted the short ribs, they were tender but had too many pieces of fat for the price. The flavor on both were ok AT BEST. He liked the yams, because he was so disappointed in the meals he didn't even want to try the potato salad. Once we got back to my daughter's my son n law did and said it had a “sweet" taste to it which he didn’t like. As we were eating the line got longer so it is the "go to" spot for "soul food" in Atlanta it's just not what a Chicago Girl eats or cooks. For $100 it was not only a waste of time it was $$ down the drain bc that mess went to the trash. I'm learning the locals like bland food that that won't pass in Chicago so I think it's best to stop trying these places and just go to the market, even on my travels.

Yelp
Walked into to see 3 tables of homemade cakes, the servers plus cashier were so helpful in all the choices of food, the restaurant is clean with comfortable booths to sit back, relax and ENJOY every bite full of deliciousness

Shay B.

Yelp
I've ordered online a few times... in my experience, this restaurant can be a hit or miss honestly. Ribs good one day, next day you get a batch with barely any meat on it & bbq sauce just squirted lazily on top. Same for the candied yams, spot on one day, then the next day a batch with a soupy/watery mix that doesn't allow the added sweetness to stick on them. Mac & cheese so far is the most consistent thing I've tried & it's pretty good. Just try it, it may be a good day when you go.

Yelp
First time coming here and it was a bit confusing ordering the food. It was a great experience and the food was delicious. We got 2 smothered pork chops, macaroni, greens, dressing, cornbread and a peach lemonade. I don't really like the restaurants in Atlanta but this one was a hit. FINALLY, food with flavor. Reminded me of home

Yelp
Oxtail over white rice with brown gravy, Beef ribs, turkey wings, homemade desserts, collards with bacon, candied yams, what else do you need!

Yelp
The food was ok. I would not go back. The dressing was salty with heavy sage. The Mac & cheese was dry with heavy pepper taste. The fried pork chop was good. For the price I am disappointed being that the only thing in my meal was the pork chop and muffin. The place is clean and the ladies working the line and register was some what dismissive. Not a great customer service experience. My first and last time visiting this place.

Yelp
We arrived right before the Saturday lunch rush. The staff got everyone thru the line quick and easy. This location is clean and spacious and the food was on point. The smothered pork chops, fried chicken and oxtails were delicious. The sides were also delectable. Big Daddy's gets 5 stars from us!

Alyssa H.

Yelp
I was so disappointed to come in here. I usually don't do bad reviews on Black businesses but after waiting an hour for food that was Luke warm and ight for the most part. The catfish is made to order so I didn't mind the first 20 min and checked on my order after 30 probably when she told me that only to find out no one ever called it back. THATS JUST LAZY. The server should've got off her damn phone and went and checked for the catfish order SHE TOOK. ANYWAYS food wasn't all that 11:11 is definitely better

Yelp
The service was excellent, friendly staff, and food is great . First time visiting family in Atlanta and was looking for southern food this was the first place that popped up that was near. I purchased the lunch special Meatloaf, Mac n cheese, and greens. The flavor in everything is good . Also tried the famous lemonade that comes in a variety of flavors to choose from. Sweet and good. If anyone hasn't traveled to Atl yet, I definitely recommend trying out Big Daddys Kitchen. Good is great

Yelp
Idk what's up with the reviews on this spot but I absolutely loved it. The service was great and the food was delicious. It's a pretty unassuming little place, almost looks buffet style but honestly it was A1.

Yelp
I love big daddies I wasn't able to make it this visit but I've been 3x in the past and the food never disappoints

Yelp
The food is horrible! I used to travel across town to get food. They must have new cooks. Nothing was good except for the collard greens. Don't go!!!

Yelp
Good service, very friendly staff. Very good food. The atmosphere was very welcoming. When I return to Atlanta, I will make sure to stop in and get me some more good soul food.

Yelp
Customer service was absolutely trash ! We walked in and no one greeted us although they were nice and friendly to the people before us but once we walked up the attitudes completely changed and was stale. Black people gotta do better with the customer service... just lost two customers which sucks because this was our first time there and will be our last.food was pretty good I'll give them that

Yelp
Really delicious soul food here. It looks very popular with locals, as I was the only non-black person in here the whole time. Order your food cafeteria style and pay at the cashier. Service was friendly and quick, all the food was awesome. I like that this place is no frills and straight to it.

Aaron M.

Yelp
Experience was terrible and I hate to do my people like this but they've got to get it together over there. I ordered two plates and each were supposed to have came with 2 sides but when I arrived home to my surprise I only had oxtails and a plate of rice and grease , the rice was swimming in grease and oil and the oxtails were overly fatty as if they never cleaned and trimmed them prior to cooking. My second plate was a turkey wings plate with green beans and sweet potato's and the sweet potato's were the best thing on the entire meal. The turkey wings were terrible and rubbery as if they were over cooked and lacked seasoning. The gravy that they were in was real questionable and whoever's cooking back there should be talked to because this was a terrible experience compared to the one I had on old nat. I will not be coming back and I feel like I wasted $42 on some bs

Yelp
I stopped by there last Thursday because I was in the area and decided to give it a try. I wasn't expecting a lot based on some of the prior reviews. However, I was treated so nice and I thought the entire staff was amazing. I had to wait for some chicken wings to cook so they not only offered me a free lemonade, they also offered me a free piece of cake. One wonderful woman even told me to drink down some more of my drink so she could top it off before I left. Everyone had wonderful attitudes and the food was nice and fresh. I got two orders of chicken wings with mac and cheese and yams. For me, I will drive back across town to support them again. One of my friends said that they must have recognized me as a celebrity. I told her that was absolutely not the case. I appreciate them and will definitely be back.

Nileah H.

Yelp
Everything was great! The server was really sweet and let my little brother try the jerk chicken...and then gave him ice lol(no spice tolerance). I got black eyed peas, yams, Mac and cheese, and cabbage. Coleslaw was also really good! I've never been able to eat anybody else Mac and cheese but my momma'sthis one is sooo good. I made a yelp just to leave this rating. Catfish was sooo fluffy and crispy and made fresh. 5 stars!! In and out within 15 minutes. Broccoli and cheddar rice is a must try!

Yelp
Mannnnnnnn I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately I cant. I should have known from the moment I walked in to just leave. Got off my flight and wanted some soul food, but this was not it! This location is straight trash im sorry to say. I couldn't smell why food which was my first sign to say no. It was cafeteria style which I dont mind other locations do it this way. I got a turkey wing with dressing a side of greens and yams with a cornbread muffin. 0/10 the turkey leg was Luke warm very dry with little to no taste. The gravy was not gravy again not hot. The dressing was cardboard. The greens and yams came straight from a can And again not hot! They could have at least doctored them up. I got the jerk chicken with rice a side of greens and mashed potatoes and gravy. The jerk wing was a bit better had good flavor but still Luke warm. The rice was instant and not cooked properly had sole hard grains. The mashed potatoes was instant and Gravy was just ok. The inside of the restaurant was not clean or welcoming. The restroom was gross couldn't even properly wash or dry my hands because they didn't have soap or paper towels. If this was my first time to one of these franchise I would NEVER come back, but I just wont be back to this location! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!! RUN!
google avatar

Yelp
The best jerk kitchen wings lunch plate!! The jerk chicken wing falls off the bones, perfectly cooked and seasoned, super flavorful... spicy and peppery. Your choice of so many sides. We opted for the candied yams and greens! We added peach cobbler to the mix to top off the meal!
google avatar

Karo R.

Yelp
It's a yes for me! Service could be better, but you can not deny the flavors of good ol soul food cooking! Big Daddy's Kitchen is bringing it! At this point I had the turkey wings and Bbq chicken plates with the same mac& cheese and collard greens. The greens are amazing and consistent and they speak to my soul-lol This is happy food, I just wish the service matched the cooking.

Yelp
We always thank our friends at Yelp for providing a platform to share the Voice of the customer. On this beautiful Saturday in Atlanta on the 4th day of March in the year of our Lord, I had been craving soul food. I wasn't feeling like slinging pots and pans so my friend picked up a combo plate from Big Daddy's Kitchen. I trusted his judgment given he knows I like tasty well prepared food and claimed he had eaten there before. Unfortunately, it must have been a very long time because this food was the worse I've had in a long time. The collard greens were soggy, the sweet potato souffle consisted of yams, sugar, and marshmallow, the cornbread muffins were old and the chicken wings were still flying in grease . Just because you are from the south doesn't mean that you can make soul food. This combo plate was lacking Soul. I'm sorry to announce that Big Daddy's Kitchen will not make our 2023 Soul food recommendation list and I should have read the reviews before I attempted to eat this low vibrational plate. I had better food at home.

Sharon G.

Yelp
Prices are ridiculous please help your community by not gouging prices.. I could feed multiple homeless people the amount they charge..
google avatar

Zack W.

Yelp
Excellent smothered pork chop, humongous jerk chicken wing that was delicious, great Mac n cheese, and outstanding candied yams. The red velvet cake was a little dry. But all the food barely cost me anything. Very good price.
google avatar

Milly M.

Yelp
I had smothered pork chop on white rice with collard greens, macaroni and corn bread. It was soooo good. It has so much food I could only eat half. He had meatloaf stuffing with Turkey gravy and collard greens and broccoli & rice with corn bread. He ate almost all his plate! He loved it!! Oh yeah we had peach cobbler to go... it was good a bit too little for my tasting but good.

A S.

Yelp
Went here a few weeks ago after church hoping for some good soul food however was disappointed. WE ordered 3 meals: fried chicken, oxtails, rib tips. My husband said the oxtails were pretty good. We also enjoyed the Mac and cheese, and corn bread. However, the fried chicken was not crispy or seasoned. The dressing was extremely dry and the rib tips were... different and not in a good way.
google avatar

Charli A.

Yelp
The food was so delicious!! I got the ribs with sweet potato soufflé and cabbage. I went back a second time and got Mac n cheese and candied yams. Both times the food was really good. The only thing I will say is that the desserts aren't really that good. I tried the strawberry cake and red velvet cake and they both were dry.

Sandra M.

Yelp
This is the best soul food restaurant period. Not only is the food excellent but the enormous size of the portions served always last us for two days. Thank you Big Daddy's.

Rodney G.

Yelp
Terrible customer wait is excessive also food isn't worth it moreso overpriced I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody honestly
google avatar

Ari B.

Yelp
The food in this place is simply amazing. Pork ribs are my favorite. Had to come back a couple of days later to try more of their dishes. Everybody who works here was also very nice. Looking forward to coming back to Atlanta just to have an excuse to come to this place. If authentic Soul food is what you're craving, you are in for a treat!

Corey P.

Yelp
Went here on Saturday around 4pm. Place was EMPTY!! That should have told me I was gonna get subpar food. Upon arriving...ALL the staff was EXTREMELY nice and welcoming.... I ordered a oxtail plate which comes with rice or potatoes and two sides. My mom wanted only a turkey wing with yellow rice. The sides did not look appetizing to me so I only got the cabbage and mashed potatoes. We get to the cashier (a man)...and he tries to charge my mom $7 for the one turkey wing plus $5 for rice ala carte. I said..."no way are we paying $5 for basic rice!" He proceeds VERY RUDELY to tell the girl to remake my mom food and take out the rice! I THEN say...well MY food was supposed to come with rice, she can have MY rice. I only got the two sides with my oxtails and was supposed to have gotten rice. He tries to argue that they don't normally do that. He finally consents. Oxtails had decent flavor BUT were NOT tender and you only get Three tails (VERY SMALL PORTION for $28.) I added garlic salt to them once I got home and they were FIRE! The cabbage was terrible! No flavor...no salt...no nothing. The mashed potatoes and gravy was probably the BEST I have ever eaten at a restaurant in my life. I would go back JUST for those. The cornbread was terrible! Dry and old, no butter, grainy and hard and crusted! I spit it out! My mom say the rice was cold and she too found the muffin to be terrible! She says her turkey wing needed salt and was NOT tender at all..she ranked it a 7/10 (average). She says it wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. The awesome gravy kinda saved it for her. This place is hit and miss! The stank attitude of the cashier makes me not ever wanna come back here again.

Yelp
Big Daddy's on Old National is the only place I go to for soul food, what can I say. It's always hot, good, with nice portions. The food is constantly being turned over & I don't feel like I'm getting old food. The servers are always nice too.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Great Food and personnel I would definitely recommend this food spot if you're in the area check them out
google avatar

Omar T.

Yelp
Only bonus was the large portions, which is to be expected being that I basically was charged twice what a regular meal should cost for oxtails and 2 sides. The oxtails were nice and tender but flavorless. So was the rice that they rested on. The macaroni was overcooked and the cheese tasted like they basically just melted velvetta over it. The yams were pretty nice. The cornbread was just ok. The lemonade tasted way heavy on the mix and sugar side. If they would have added 20% water to the mix, it would have been palatable. I went out of my way to frequent this place and was so disappointed. I hope they get their act together.
google avatar

Indira P.

Yelp
If you are looking for soul food without the soul then this is the place .. Me and my friend walked in and immediately greeted by staff, that was nice. I ordered a veggie plate & red velvet and sweet tea. Dressing & Gravy Mac & cheese Corn & collards .... the food tasted like broken promises and shattered dreams ! Like I'm not ok this was some of the nastiest food I have ever had !!!!! Where is the seasoning and intention ! 18$ down the drain ... HOW TO EAT DADDYS ON CANDLER ROAD ??? Throw it in the trash !

Mark M.

Yelp
We visited the restaurant on 10/30/22. After waiting an hour in line, we finally reached the counter where I was told they were out of the particular item I desired (fried pork chops). I was further informed there was no ETA on the availability. No apologies or concern for patrons standing & waiting for hours. I ended up NOT eating the food I ordered because it just wasn't good; dressing was gummy/soggy, okra was stringy, squash was gritty, lima beans had a funny/spoiled taste & turkey legs were very dry and severely overcooked. No matter the area or location of any restaurant establishment in the Atlanta area, there needs to be a level of respect for customers owners provide that clearly this business is lacking.

Yelp
I really really hate to post less than stellar reviews, especially for Black businesses, but I would be remiss if I didn't share what happened on my last visit to this restaurant. In all honesty, before my recent visit about a week or so ago, my previous experience had been a very pleasant one. However, that was a post-church visit sometime last summer, in the time before COVID-19. The pros: for the most part, people in line were masked up and social distancing although the new guidelines would dictate folks standing much further apart than they were. I managed with effort to claim 3-5 feet during my time in line, which was brief. The line moved quickly, the restaurant seating area appeared fairly clean, and there was a protocol; you waited at a certain point before being called to proceed to the food line. The crew on duty were only allowing so many people in line at a time. The cashier and one of the guys in line was friendly, the guy plopping food in my container? Not as much. The veggie plate: The greens had a pretty good taste and you can't really mess up Jiffy cornbread style muffins so ... That's pretty much it. The cons: Some of the workers didn't know how to wear their masks properly! Masks do not go under the nose!!! You need to cover ALL of the places that you breathe in and out water droplet particles in order for a mask to be effective! If you are not doing that, it's all for show! And you are serving people food meaning you are breathing on their open containers! Most importantly let's talk about the food. I will mostly let the pics tell the story but it was frankly the saddest soul food I have eaten since I fell for eating at Roosters in Sandy Springs years ago (whole nother topic). The Lima beans were so unrecognizable I asked the guy plopping them into my container if they were indeed Lima beans. And the taste was as bad as the appearance; IF they had any nutrients, all of that had been boiled out and all that was left was a clump of vinegary tasting starch. And yes I said, 'vinegar'; they put vinegar in the Lima beans! Who does that? The dressing was a bit dry and at the same time appeared undercooked and basically underwhelming. The broccoli cheese casserole was salty, tasted of powdered cheese, and had very little broccoli. The sautéed squash was undercooked and rubbery as well as somewhat under seasoned. The greens and the cornbread were perhaps the best out of the whole plate. I didn't finish the food and ended up throwing the remainder out, which was painful considering I spent almost $15, including the new COVID-19 surcharge . FYI - were a lot of people in line and some in the restaurant. I just assume they were ordering meat and not veggie plates.

Yelp
Restaurant gave delivery partner the wrong order so I put in a second order, and the restaurant refused to allow multiple delivery partners to pick up my new order. Even after driving to the restaurant myself to show them their mistake they refused to remake my order, placing the blame on Uber.

Yelp
Great place, great customer service service, very clean. However the food doesn't look good as it seems. Dress taste like cornbread, I know box mac when i take it and you couldn't fool me. The oxtails was awesome i enjoyed every bite.

Sydney C.

Yelp
First of all I spent 68$ here yesterday. My oxtails tasted like nothing but vinegar. Squash wasn't tender at all. Only thing good was the cornbread. Also ordered turkey wings wing had chicken feathers on it just flocking around together like they was still supposed to be on the meat. That is ridiculous. My mom didn't even touch that turkey wing or she would've choked off of a FEATHER. staff is nice but that's the only good thing about the candler rd location. I'm pissed off almost 70$ on something I could've made at home at it would've actually been good... I'm mad because the advertisement makes it seem like the food is bussing but it's not fasho. #FalseAdvertisement #PoorQualityFood #FEATHERS ON TURKEY WINGS.

Yelp
I went to Big Daddy's Kitchen for lunch and as many of the reviews said, there was a line. Everyone except for the one gentleman who looked like the manager/maitre d' wore masks. The place was very clean and the tables were moderately separated. The servers were very courteous as well. The food was great and there was plenty of it. I had the shrimp over yellow rice and it was a mountainous serving! I would absolutely go back.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy my meal but the order taker made a mistake and we were too far to make changes. The pork chops were delicious everything else was subpar. These were no homemade drinks available which makes me believe they are really tasty.

Yelp
If you want a home cooked southern meal this is definitely the place to go. It has a mom and pop feel and the people were kind and funny. The reason behind this 3 star rating is simple. Mac n cheese, which is personally my favorite side dish wasn't done any justice. It tasted like boxed Mac n cheese, specifically the deluxe box you get from Walmart. I feel when making southern home cooked food, baked Mac n cheese is a must. Also the broccoli/ cheese/ rice casserole was ok but had a slight sour taste after a few bites. On another note, my fish was cooked to order and the seasoning was on point and the juice/kool aid taste like diabetes in cup and I loved every second of it. Reminds me of my childhood. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
This review is painful to express, because I am from this community and I use to be a fan of this location. There is another location near Greenbrier Mall, which in my opinion has better tasting food. Unfortunately, it is a bit farther from my home, so I would frequent this location out of convenience but not by preferred choice. To be fair in my review, as stated I use to think this place had decent soul food. I am of African-American heritage, so I think I know and am very familiar with what good Southern soul food taste like, I've ate it all my life!!! But this place is the worst tasting, unflavorfull, cold served piece of crap I have ever had. I have been here two other times recently; in addition, to this review and I have been met with the same disappointment in the quality of the food. I don't know what the problem is?? Maybe they changed cooks, I don't know if they prepare by recipe, because I don't know how two locations, with the same franchise name have two totally different outcomes??? Nevertheless, I am not a fan anymore. I will not be coming back. This location has lost the privilege of earning my hard earned dollar. The last meal that I purchased for me and my family cost $48 dollars; of which, I had to throw into the garbage can. I do not waste food, nor do I waste money !!!!!! But enough is enough.... and I needed to express my discontent. I probably should call management to express my disappointment, because they should be informed and not continue to operate under a false impression that their food is good. There are not many good Southern soul food restaurants and now there are even less. If you have made it this far to my review, thank you. It is sincerely intented to caution you and I hope to inform the establishment to do an independent survey, if they intend on staying in business. Thanks again, for your read. This review was not done with malice, but with sincere concern for a better product in my community. We can do better!! And I hold this location accountable, to do better!!!!!

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE !!!! BAD COSTUMER SERVICE I ordered baked tilapia over rice and when I checked my food I was given fried tilapia with no rice when I called back the lady told me that they don't serve baked tilapia (which is clearly on the menu) and she said "there's a lot of stuff on the menu" then I brought up why don't I have my rice that I paid for and she said "the fish doesn't come with rice then she hung up on me. I don't know what kind of establishment this is but I won't spend another penny here

Yelp
I usually go to the one on Old Nat , I went to this one the other day since it was closer to my house. I got the BBQ Chicken wing dinner , the taste and flavor was good as always. However I was disappointed in the amount of feathers I had on my chicken wings. A few would've been okay (and that's me being nice) but the amount of feathers on that chicken was completely unacceptable makes me think that there was no prep involved at all. I hate that because I do love this place! Maybe just not this location.
