BigEye Sushi Opens in Downtown Brooklyn With ‘Sushi Robots’ - Eater NY

"Bigeye Sushi is a new fast-casual restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn. It utilizes 'sushi robots' to automate parts of the sushi-making process, allowing the restaurant to produce approximately 300 sushi and 400 rolls per hour. Chefs slice the fish by hand, but the machines combine the ingredients and craft the sushi pieces and rolls. This approach aims to provide freshly made sushi in a grab-and-go format, emphasizing expediency in a counter-service setting. Bigeye Sushi also offers bowls and salads." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

If you understand their value prop, then you’ll get this place. They’re using robots to roll sushi, so you get the fresh sushi at near fridge-sushi speed. Taste wise, it’s pretty good. Comparable to most usual sushi restaurants.

Just got the Salmon Sushi Bento which gives you three pieces of salmon and a roll of your choice for $14. For me, the portions were sufficient for lunch and the salmon tasted incredibly fresh. Service was friendly and fairly quick - you place an order with an employee up front and wait for your food on the other side. There are a couple seats, but this is primarily a to-go lunch spot. No cash, cards only.

Robots are making really good sushi and I'm loving it. The restaurant itself is super nice, bright and modern. The sushi was delicious. Rice was very soft although there was a bit too much to my liking. The salmon and avacado were incredible fresh and flavorful will definitely be coming back

The sushi tastes good, the place is cool. The pricing (Pagoda specifically) is way off. What should be a $12-13 combo box (crab roll inside) is $19. Leaves you feeling a bit underwhelmed at first sight. With Tax and tip, we’re in $23 territory. The bowls are a better value.

A new concept brings us to a sushi restaurant where some of the sushi is made with the help of automation! The chef cuts the fish by hand, but then the machines craft sushi pieces and rolles. The atmosphere was casual and friendly and the service was fast. There's some room for improvement, however the sushi did taste good. Will be coming back to see what's new next time I"m in the neighborhood.

So, I think this was some robo sushi place. It’s kinda expensive considering how much they can apparently produce in bulk, but maybe that’s the price for good quality sashimi grade fish. I ordered the lunch special, salmon I think? Rolls had tons of structural integrity, and were decent quality. Don’t think I would come again for some expensive rolls, but it was a nice experience. The service was pretty good, friendly and nice. Food was served quickly.

Best sushi in the neighborhood hands down! Prices are fair, food is delicious and fresh, delivered quickly. I’ve tried several rolls and a poke a bowl. All were excellent! Love the rice cracker crunch too!

Tried this spot for the first time today. I chose the "build your bowl" options so maximize on trying as many items as possible. I was not disappointed! It was fresh, tasty and filling. The bowls come with complimentary miso soup. I tried the half salad and half brown rice option for my bowl. The citrus sauce was a bit high on sodium but it's optional. Very clean location and helpful staff. A must try!
