"Big Sur Bakery, a staple of the Big Sur community, was destroyed in a fire. It had been serving tourists with almond croissants and take-home jars of jam for decades. The fire occurred on May 3, and while there were no injuries, the cause remains unknown. Owner Blaise Godbe Lipman plans to rebuild at the Loma Vista property." - Paolo Bicchieri

"Big Sur Bakery is a Highway 1 road trip must, with an impressive selection of sweet and savory pastries and excellent coffee, as well as a sit-down menu you can order from. If you’re just making a quick stop in the morning, we love the croissants and the blueberry strudel, so be sure to buy a couple to snack on for later. Big Sur Bakery also serves a small selection of brunch and lunch dishes, but dinner is our favorite time to come here for the wood-fired pizzas. No matter what time you go, there is often a long wait, but the wild-strewn flowers, rustic wooden tables, and redwood tree in its patio area will make the time fly by." - team infatuation, allison green

Great place to stop by for some coffee and pastries. We’ve only had breakfast here and it’s really nice place to sit down and have coffee. Haven’t been around for their dinners as we usually stop by during start of a hike. Their pastries are more expensive than most places so heads up on that. We had the bacon bow tie and ham and cheese croissants. Mochas and lattes for coffee. Customer service is okay , parking can get tough during peak periods of the am.

Big Sur Bakery in the early morning is a hidden gem. As the doors open, there’s a peaceful stillness, with the scent of fresh bread and buttery pastries filling the air. The croissants are outstanding flaky and golden, soft on the inside. Pair one with a simple cappuccino or espresso, and you’ve got the perfect quiet start to your day. It’s quaint, cozy, and feels like a retreat from the busy world, making every moment feel special.

Had a fantastic dinner here that included fresh, creative flavours in a cozy and inviting setting. Staff were incredibly attentive and we loved the variety of options. Definitely on the pricier end for dinner but absolutely worth it, as is the wine!

Nestled in the heart of Big Sur, this bakery is a true gem worth discovering. For us it was a quick stop though definitely would recommend to take some time and visit the bakery in peace and enjoy their offerings. They have ample parking spots for guests moving in and out though we realized that after we had parked outside Big Sur Deli (right next door) though it turned out to be a bit of an incline walk to the bakery which was all fun. On the way to the bakery you do see a fully functional Shell gas station (though it can turn out to be a costly tank fill) that features an air and water station as well. As we approached the Big Sur Bakery, we were immediately drawn to its rustic and inviting exterior. The bakery's warm, cozy interior with wooden furnishings and a welcoming fireplace creates a delightful atmosphere. The open kitchen adds a sense of transparency, allowing guests to watch the skilled bakers in action. The staff at Big Sur Bakery were very friendly and definitely helped us with our questions with the menu. We ordered a coffee and and ice-tea since we were trying to do a very quick stop as we had a long day planned ahead of us. Hopefully we get to taste more of their offerings in our next visit. Cheers!!

Google
My friend and I stumbled upon this place only to have one of the best dinners I have ever had in my life (quite possibly the best). The ambience is cozy and magical. Our server was excellent and we had the pleasure of meeting chef Matt who was lovely! 10/10 would recommend and I can't wait to come back!

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in Big Sur. If I am in the area, I stop here every time. Dinners are wonderful and the staff is super friendly and helpful. All of the dishes are made with great care. I had the Salmon with Potato Dumplings and my wife had the Roast Chicken. Both were excellent! No one of the Big Sur "big name" restaurants, but don't miss this place! Recommend making reservations for dinner.

Google
Come for the maple bacon bow, stay for the ambience. While the pastries are pretty good, we had the maple bacon bow and the prosciutto bun the coffee imo was a bit average. And sadly it was an expensive coffee at that! Still, in the middle of nowhere, Big Sur Bakery is a decent stop for breakfast or a quick pit stop.

Don’t be misled by the name here because the dinner menu can have a certain boutique vibe to it. It’s certainly a unique restaurant. Cabin style here. The surrounding area is epic so this restaurant definitely feeds off that. Check out the photos for more.

Yelp
Big Sur Bakery has been a gem for may years and it's truly sad what happened on May 3 of this year. I usually got my Avacado toast and a coconut pineapple tea au lait ( my favorite ) Their variety of pastries were always on point and my kids always loved those egg quiche slides. #missed

Yelp
Ordered some lovely pastries while down in Big Sur on vacation. Our favorite had to be the Maple Bacon Bow so yummy. The location is gorgeous with beautiful landscaping and the staff kind as well. But beware the wild turkeys are no joke. They will attack you or your vehicle.

Yelp
Did I really spend $50+ at this little bakery off the road in Big Sur? Yes, and I don't regret it. We hopped in line Monday late morning after checking out of our camp site. The line was already out the door. After placing your order at the counter, you wait outside for your name to be called. There was ample seating outdoors on the porch. * Cream-filled donut: I'm normally not a fan of filled donuts, but this one was so good! They sell out quickly, and for good reason. The filling was not overly sweet and the dough was fluffy. * Maple bacon twist: Not my fave, but my partner liked this one the most. It is one of the larger pastries. * Almond croissant: Good! Tastes like you would expect. * Vegetable strusel: Ok my friend bought this. I had a bite of hers and I went back to the bakery to buy one for myself because it was that tasty. It's a flaky buttery pastry filled with flavorful mushrooms, peas, onions, and garlic. The pastries aren't the cheapest, but I recommend stopping by if you're camping in the area. I wish they warmed up the pastries for customers. I'm sure that would make them taste even better!

Yelp
It's one of those places you hear about when traveling on HWY 1 on Big Sur as a must stop. Been here a few times and can only speak to picking up pastries to go. I love the banana bread, but missed out on it this time. Instead, got the maple bacon twist and blueberry strudel. Both were delightful. No lines this time, so I was excited about that to say the least. I also got a unique one of a kind mug made by a local artist. Can't resist supporting local businesses and talents. Next time, I think I want to try the coffee and other food at the bakery. Yes, it's still a must stop for me whenever I go to Big Sur!

Yelp
Bookmark this place for a great pick me up before or after a scenic drive on Highway 1. The bakery has quite the array of tasty delicacies satisfying both a sweet or savory desire . I fell in love with the Ginger scone - perfect with a black espresso. I also dined here on a weeknight. Very nice selection of seating inside or out. I recommend the trout dish - it was served with freshly shucked corn in a cream base . Accompanied with fresh green beans. . There feature a vast wine list . One dessert is available, a Plum galette. Do yourself a comfort food favor an try it - so fresh, tasty and topped with a dollop of freshly made whipped cream . The workers in the bakery were friendly . And a big compliment to the service at the restaurant, exceptionally friendly and professional.

Yelp
We always make a stop at Big Sur Bakery for pastries and coffee but have never had a proper meal here before. We stopped by in the AM and I inquired about the dinner desserts which sounded incredible. I opted to pass on pastries in anticipation - we'd have proper birthday dessert tonight. We came for our dinner reservation - patio is dog-friendly - and had to wait quite awhile to get seated even though tables were open and we were certainly the last seating at the end of the night. We waited outside as the night grew colder, although we got to see the sun set. I was excited for the dessert that I'd heard of this morning but heard other patrons sat they'd run out of dessert already so they were trying to buy cookies. Dinner itself was great - I especially enjoyed my trout. Perfectly cooked with unfashionably crispy skin, with corn and morels - killer combo. My partner's steak was good but we just had some pretty unbeatable steak the night before. We shared wings which were finger-licking good too. The server knew we were bummed to not have dessert so whipped up a free dessert for us - a chocolate cake from the bakery cabinet. That was sweet, literally and figuratively. I will say the pastries I've had here have been hit or miss though could be personal preference.

Yelp
Cute little bake shop by Pfeiffer Big Sur SP. The pastries look great but also be prepared for high prices. Like double the prices. Conveniently connected to a shell gas station with also a deli also not too far, this is your go to spot in the area. Super quick service. Other than the prices, the pastries are great. I got a cinnamon bun and a maple bacon bow. That maple bacon bow was worth the $9 bucks I paid. Super tasty with generous amount of bacon and flaky dough. I'm already thing about how to get it again!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this lovely bakery, and I must say, it was a bittersweet experience. Bitter because I know I won't have their delectable pastries at home, and sweet because every moment spent there was pure bliss. The ambiance here exudes a boutique and eclectic atmosphere that instantly draws you in. Inside seating is also quite spacious, there's also a garden area in the back that provides more outdoor seating! Prepare yourself for higher prices, but trust me, it's worth every penny! Here's what I've tried: Almond Croissant $9 (5/5): As an almond croissant connoisseur, I can confidently say that this might just be the best one I've ever tasted! The generous amount of almond flakes on top adds a delightful crunch. The almond paste filling is flavorful, striking the perfect balance of sweetness. The croissant itself is a masterpiece - flaky on the outside, yet light and airy on the inside. For $9, this does hurt my pocket a little hahaha. Bacon Maple Twist $8, (5/5): This creation is to die for! The flakiness of the pastry combined with the perfect pairing of bacon and maple creates a heavenly blend of salty and sweet. My partner couldn't stop raving about it either, and it became an instant hit for us. Mocha Cookie $3.75 (4/5): This cookie left quite an impression. It's large, with a crunchy exterior and a gooey, chocolatey interior. It embodies everything I desire in a cookie - moist, fudgy, and utterly delightful. The only downside was that it leaned slightly towards the sweeter side, but it still came very close to perfection! This bakery truly stands out as a gem in Big Sur, and one of my absolute favorite aspects is their mastery of pastry toasting. Every item we tried was warm, golden, and crispy, as if it had just emerged fresh out of the oven. The attention to detail and the commitment to quality are evident in each bite. Although it's saddening to realize that I won't be able to savor these pastries at home, I highly recommend this bakery to anyone visiting the area!

Yelp
Ate here 3 days in a row during an anniversary trip. I loved it that much. First time was for dinner and I was blown away. We ordered the fresh bread, oysters, heirloom tomato with burrata, trout, and ribeye. The ribeye came with a grilled romaine with buttermilk and crushed nuts seasoned with a middle eastern spice. My tastebuds were exploding with the amazing flavor combo. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium and had buttery crunch exterior. The dinner vibe was cozy by the fire and romantic like I was in a friends living room but when in Big Sur you'l can either dress up or dress down as you may be a camper or resort-er. Service was excellent, it shows in the meals that the staff is passionate about their grub. The waitstaff were kind, personable and knowledgeable of the fare and sights. Such a high class experience, don't be fooled by the "bakery" name! For breakfast, I became obsessed with the chocolate banana strudel, ham & cheese croissant, custard donut, a rose tea au lait and a purple Earl gray au lait another morning. I look forward to returning to Big Sur someday and the bakery will absolutely be part of that visit!

Yelp
A+ in every way. Everything they make has a perfect balance of flavors and the vibe is so cozy. I love getting pastries and coffee at Big Sur Bakery! *the streusel and crossaint crust is heavenly

Yelp
Cute bakery next to a gas station in Big Sur. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the weather and see the beautiful nature. We got: Croissant- can skip Cinnamon Roll - the best one outta everything we tried. Cheese Scone - it's okay. Open face pastrami- highly recommend

Kicking Rocks C.

Yelp
We tried to get here before the lunch to dinner shift in which they close for a few hours but didn't make it. Kind of glad because after watching the sunset at Mcway Falls we decided to stop for dinner and it was so worth it. Fortunately for us, the bar seating was open so that four of us could walk in and seat ourselves otherwise it's by reservation which fills quite fast. The food was amazing. We started with the wood fired sourdough bread and just water after hiking all day. I ordered the steak which came with this crazy good buttery seasoning on top of it. The steak itself had an excellent crunchy outside and melt in your mouth inside. The bar seating also allowed us to watch the chefs prepare all the great entrees.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I've had the cinnamon roll twice, 5 years apart and it's still the best cinnamon roll I've had. They have cafe food like sandwiches, salads etc as well. The line moves quick and everyone is friendly too. Prices are standard for the Big Sur area - on the higher side. There's plenty of outdoor seating, bathrooms to use and shops nearby to browse in as well.

Yelp
Coastal Pastries Nestled in the midst of the gorgeous coastal drive on Highway 1, Big Sur Bakery is known for their nationally renowned cookbook and their weekend long queues that often result in all their baked goods selling out by noon But is Big Sur Bakery actually any good? We woke up early and stopped near opening time to be greeted by a full selection of pastries as well as fellow early birds We tried almost everything and ordered nearly a dozen pastries (the record for a single order is over $400 according to the cashier) We LOVED everything! The savory pastries are as delectable as the sweet delights and having this Big City quality bakery nestled in the woods is as refreshing a surprise as the cool morning air and Pacific Ocean breeze We will definitely stop by again and hopefully beat the morning lines (Big Sur Bakery also serves lunch and dinner) Mocha Cookie $3.75 / Pepperoni Strudel $9.75 / Vegetable Frittata Cup $6 / **Maple Bacon Bow $8 / **Ham & Cheese Croissant $10 / Croissant $5 / Chocolate Croissant $6.75 / **Almond Croissant $9 / **Custard Filled Donut $6 / Pecan Sticky Bun $8 / Chocolate Banana Strudel $8 / Blueberry Strudel $8 Big Sur Bakery (Big Sur, CA) Big Sur Bakery accepts all credit cards and has both limited indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Love this place! It's 5 minutes from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and what a beautiful place. I stopped by twice during my 5 day trip to the area a few weeks ago. During both of my visits, pastries and coffee are good. Coffee may be inconsistent, however, depending which barista is on duty. Service is above average for the cafe. There was a gentleman watering the garden who provided insights on other services such as event venue including yurts (as part of this place.) He went above and beyond in explaining everything offered here and I was impressed. The tables and chairs here appeared to be hand carved and are made of beautiful redwood (maybe.) Overall, I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch if you're visiting Pfeiffer State Park or Andrew Molera Beach.

Reeya C.

Yelp
You must stop here if you're driving along the PCH. It's a great spot for a break, and you must come in the morning right when they open! We wandered in on Saturday morning just before opening. So when they opened their doors, we were among the first people in line. We got first dibs on a fresh selection of mouth-watering pasteries. The inside has a very homey and cozy cottage vibe, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We got the Blueberry Strudel, Vegetable Strudel, Vegetable Frittata, and Ham and Cheese Croissant. The latter three are all great savory options, but the Blueberry Strudel was my favorite. I haven't had a fresh pastry in so long, and this was a real delight. It was flaky, and the blueberry was sweet. It was amazing tasting the fruity filling, and you could even see the blueberries mashed up inside. 10/10 recommend this. This bakery is on the pricer end, but because of its location, you won't be coming here very often, so I say go for it!

Yelp
Out of Chai tea Espresso was ok Mocha cookie and sticky bun were very good Interesting Shell gas station and outhouse looking modern bathrooms

Yelp
Service - 5/5 (Waitress was Becca) Food - 6/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Wow wow wow. Big Sur Bakery is truly exceptional and has easily become one of my favorite restaurants. The level of creativity put into these dishes is one that only comes from a chef who really LOVES food. This was artistry. The meals are familiar combinations but done with excellence and a twist. For example--chocolate citrus cake (citrus being yuzu) & bread and butter (homemade sourdough and softened butter with salt). So when ordering, it doesn't feel outside of your comfort zone, but every dish is experimental. Please note, the dishes are seasonal. Here's what my partner and I shared: Sourdough and Butter - a must. Please do yourself a favor and start by ordering this homemade bread. We saved two pieces to soak up any leftover soup and lamb juices from our next plates. Lamb - insanely delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection and complimented by an eggplant purée, dill and yogurt. Butter squash soup- this had the perfect soup consistency. It wasn't super hot which allowed me to appreciate the flavors better. Loved the crispy bits of bacon and pumpkin seeds in the soup. Chocolate citrus cake with homemade icecream - this was unbelievably good. At this point I was stuffed but literally could not put my spoon down. The cake was a creamy chocolate that was complimented so well by the vanilla icecream. Espresso custard - it was so sweet they brought out a frozen espresso custard for my birthday. I appreciated this so much. I've had espresso cakes and mousses before but nothing ever like this espresso custard. Amazing! I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shoutout to our wonderful server, Becca. She was knowledgeable on the menu and passionate about food. She contributed to our amazing experience by helping us choose what to order.

Nicole I.

Yelp
We came here twice during our visit to Big Sur this weekend- once during brunch service and the other during dinner. Brunch service is a bit more laid back here. You enter and order what you want at the counter. We opted to split a pepperoni pizza and also ordered a cookie from the bakery case as well as some packaged cookies to go. They give you a number and then you bring it your table and they'll bring out your food. When we came back for dinner, there was now a host stand. We didn't have reservations but were able to sit at the bar. The menu didn't have a ton of options and was pretty seafood heavy in my opinion. As someone who doesn't love sea food, I opted to go with the duck. I've never had duck as an entree before so was a bit nervous but I actually loved it. It was served with a side of squash and homemade "squash blossoms" which were breaded pockets stuffed with ricotta and squash- SO good! We finished our meal with an affogato and chocolate tart. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing. Our server at the bar was so friendly and all staff members working came by to chat with us and see how we were enjoying our meal. I will say this food is a bit on the pricy side, but I think that's par for the course in Big Sur. I'd definitely check this place out if you're visiting. It really was a gem.

Mooky C.

Yelp
Great pastries. I hope they rebuild there is not a lot of quality places in this area.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Definitely get here early before they run out of pastries! We came around 9:30 and they were already out of Ham and cheese croissant (which we were really looking forward to). But everything else was really good! The chocolate banana streusel is so soft and gooey. The almond croissant was chefs kiss. And the cranberry walnut scone was not too dry. My partner also really enjoyed his iced latte. The line does get long but the parking lot is a cluster cluck. They should really put up a sign that says one way only because it is impossible to get two cars going, someone has to give. And its so dangerous to turn out from there onto the road if you go the south entrance.

Winnie L.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Go early for a wider selection of their baked goods. Highlights: The ambience is really fun with great indoor and outdoor seating. Lowlights: Parking can be difficult especially if it's crowded. The only items that were left by the time we got there was the cranberry walnut scone and the ginger scone and both were severely dry. I wouldn't recommend the scones.

Emily F.

Yelp
So happy I was finally able to try this place. Last time I came to Big Sur it was closed for an event or haven't arrived during opening hours. We got multiple baked goods. My favorite was the ham and cheese croissant. We also tried the bacon maple twist, blueberry strudel, chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon roll, and breakfast sandwiches for brunch. The sandwiches were huge and the fluffiest eggs. It was about the biggest sandwich ever! The bun was soft, everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfect. The hot sauce was decent but wanted something hotter. The baked goods were all so so good. Don't think anyone could go wrong with any of them. We got there on a Sunday morning around 915 and was starting to get busy. I def recommend stopping in and getting there early. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in the area.

M.A. H.

Yelp
So many hearts broken by the news. Please rebuild! You're so special and so loved! We're all rooting for you.

Sasha M.

Yelp
We went with Big Sur Bakery as our venue to our elopement. The dinner was delicious, our service was even better. We were taken care of without a thought being had. You cannot go wrong going with Big Sur Bakery

Robert C.

Yelp
It's good. We stopped and got a scone and blueberry strudel on our road trip and they were delicious. Nice outdoor bathrooms separate from the bakery making it a great stopping point. I can't quite give them five stars because they push prices to the maximum. I get they have a line and viral demand, but $13 plus a request for tip on a couple of baked goods is a bit ridiculous. At least I didn't need the nearly $8 gas.

Ross R.

Yelp
Been here a bunch! Food is always fresh and delicious. Baked goods are awesome. Service was friendly and straightforward. Coffee is good too. Also, the vibes are just lovely. HIGHLY recommend. This is not the Big Sur Bakery folks fault, and I did have a bad experience when we accidentally parked in the Big Sur Deli parking lot and were accosted by one of their employees who yelled at us, was rude, and lied to us about the location of Big Sur Bakery. So, I'd recommend parking in the right parking lot if you don't wanna have someone yell at you.

Kelly P.

Yelp
Let me begin with... the pizza is WIlDLY delicious. I'm literally obsessed with it because I had so many pizza in the SF Bay Area and nothing beats to this. I'm from Chicago and we are all about the pizza. I just wish this was a lot closer to the Bay Area. Somehow the way they cook their wood fire pizza, the crust was beyond perfect and the cheese and the sauce. It always about the cheese and sauce, it was so good. It's not overly seasoned or salty, or even too sweet. It's so good that I literally don't know how to explain it. Staff was all super friendly, the time we went was during pandemic so there wasn't any outdoor sitting at the time. They had some really cute mugs they were selling. When I think back I wish I could of gotten one and another pizza pie to go. Please please don't ever take away the pizzas. Definitely one back again.

Joey W.

Yelp
Stopped by after a weekend of backpacking. The line wasn't too long but we waited an hour. There was one person at the counter getting your pastries and another person making drinks. Cream filled donut ($6) - the cream was so good. The donut was coated in sugar but the donut was extremely dense. It also did not taste fresh as it was not soft. At the price point, I expected more. My friend got their cheddar and chive scone ($5) and a cream filled donut ($6). The cheddar and chive scone was okay. Overall, baked goods and wait were not worth the stop.

Vy D.

Yelp
The really must-go bakery when you're in Big Sur! Highlights of the menu: 1. Cream filled donut 2. Pumpkin soup 3. Hot chocolate 4. Allagash white beer, Belgium This is a very well-known bakery in Big Sur that is famous for their pizza and bakeries. I tried the cream filled donut and really like it. It's soft and filled fully with the silky soft cream! This place has been here for a very long time and is a great spot to stop by when driving by Big Sur. The pumpkin soup is so delicious when the weather is a little cool. They offer drinks from coffee, hot chocolate to beers. I was so lucky to met Miley Cyrus here!!! I love her songs and truly am a fan girl. She was so humble and nice to take pic with me when I asked. I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling. I met her when she casually picked up drinks at the pick up window. I still can't believe how I recognized her with the mask on and had the gut to ask! This made my day!! The only downside: there was no pizza at the time I went which is one of their most well-known items. I would love to come back next time to try it!

Mikaela G.

Yelp
Absolutely adored our time here. The vibe is so good and the food was even better. So glad we could stop by and am excited for our next visit!

Mary M.

Yelp
burned on May 3rd 2024. total loss sad during time when no road access from outside big sur

T J.

Yelp
I still think about the maple bacon pastry. Go early, expect a line and items to run out. Worth it.

Cherine M.

Yelp
Came here for dinner after we found that Deetjens was closed that night, and we ended up loving it--Food was great, fresh, very flavorful. Staff was friendly. My seared trout was awesome, and my husband loved the carrot soup, bread, and the chicken wings. Sitting outside the weather was great and it was during sunset so the views of the hills was gorgeous. Great atmosphere, great food. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back.

Gohar A.

Yelp
Got to the place at their closing time. Almost all baked goods were sold out. Had plum cake, and it was delicious. Will return some other time to taste other pastries. Staff was very welcoming and cordial.

Gianna M.

Yelp
It burned down two months ago apple maps lies. Nothing there but the gas station now.

Yelp
This restaurant is such a special place! Bakery and coffee stop by day and beautiful dining room at night. It was an intimate dining room with very kind and attentive service. A good wine selection and a fabulous dinner menu. The food had absolutely no business being this good!!!! The other places in Big Sur were no comparison to this dinner experience. The food was gourmet and so fun. The local produce used were the stars of the show. There were many produce I had never gotten to try before and I'm so glad I did! This was one of the best salads I ever had!! Breakfast here is so wonderful. They have a beautiful patio and fantastic coffee baristas. The lattes were top tier and the pastries were no exception. Highly recommend coming for both breakfast and dinner!

Yelp

Yelp
Can't accommodate a walk-in party of ONE with 2 full hours of service remaining and less than a dozen people in the restaurant? Embarrassing. Was looking forward to this meal, but I will not bother trying again.

Yelp
This bakery was definitely a great start to my day. I got the chocolate banana strudel, which was absolutely delicious - good balance of banana and chocolate; however, it is on the pricier side at $8.50. The chai latte was average. The workers were kind and friendly! The atmosphere of the place is lovely; I would recommend eating outside where you are surrounded by beautiful plants. I would visit again, if I was in the area for the atmosphere, kind workers, and a solid pastry.

Yelp
This is my wife's favorite restaurant in the world. It might also be mine, but it's hard to pin that down. Everything here is delicious, unique and local. We had potato dumplings and morels, asparagus and green garbanzo beans, duck with potato cake and trout crudo with strawberry and citrus vinegar. Order something you know you'll love then order something new. Let these chefs teach you things about food you didn't know you didn't know.

Yelp
Woke up early and grabbed pastries and a hot chocolate. Wonderful staff and cream-filled donut!

Yelp
Don't be misled by the name here because the dinner menu can have a certain boutique vibe to it. It's certainly a unique restaurant. Cabin style here. The surrounding area is epic so this restaurant definitely feeds off that. Check out the photos for more.

Yelp
Not impressed. Sunday morning line out the door with walk-up service only, yet crazy prices. $20 for a breakfast sandwich on a plain white hamburger bun. What a joke. Flies everywhere around tables outside. I suggest driving down to the Nepenthe Cafe Kevah where at least the view can justify the prices.

Yelp
Got the almond croissant which was pretty tasty! ! I didn't love the black drip coffee and probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but a GREAT option if you love pastries and maybe get something else asides from the black drip coffee (I think plain black coffee daily and this was just not it).

Yelp
Such a cute place! They have great coffee and the bakery is really good. We came two days in a row and both times everything tasted great and the outdoor seating area was very nice! Very cute place! Oh and there is internet service here!! Lol you'll get to realize there is no service most other places or on the road! Would highly recommend

Yelp
Ooh what a great treat to visit this place after a long drive to see McWay Falls! We arrived pretty late right before dinner at 4pm. Wasn't crowded at all when we first arrived which was nice and then people started trickling in more. Bought the pound cake, mocha brownie cookie, the chives scone and the berry scone. Also ordered the soup and salad. The soup and salad tasted freshly made and very healthy/clean. The baked goods were delicious esp when we airfryed the cookie brownie when we arrived home. Planning to airfry the scones for my breakfast as well!! U especially liked the berry scone which had lots of berries in it and the pound break had unique yummy pink icing on it. We also enjoyed a glass of pinot which was very nice and got to enjoy the scenery. Hopefully will be back again soon!!

Yelp
I came here a few times during my vacation in Big Sur and I always looked forward to their pastries. It is yummy. But the biggest insight I can say about this place is that it has the best vibe I've ever experienced at a bakery. It's really chill, soothing and I just really enjoyed the environment. Beware though, during busy season, the line is out the door. Get there early.
