"With is colourful décor, bright lights and a loud, lively atmosphere, BIGFAN is Big Fun, so start with a cocktail, tick plenty of dishes on the list on your table, tuck in and enjoy. The authentic small plates take their influences from China and Taiwan; so expect dumplings, bao buns and xiao chi all delivering a wonderful freshness and generosity. The traditional 'Couples Beef', for instance, utilising overlooked offal ingredients, uses a brilliantly judged combination of condiments to elevate the produce. It's all excellent value for money and the efficient service team are a delight." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Essential Dublin Restaurants

"A gloriously fun interior with columns of neon light, a hammered gold bar, and a blazing-red ceiling with two black fans indicates what to expect in Robert Hayes and Alex Zhang’s Chinese-inspired restaurant. Creativity, energy, and vibrant flavors are lined up on a tick-the-box menu, which includes lobster and wagyu beef tucked into a squid ink bao, cheeseburger dumplings, corn ribs, and feather blade steak with fermented bean and Urfa pepper. Sip clever cocktails, such as She Sells Sichuan, made with gin, Aperol, lychee, hibiscus, and Sichuan pepper." - Corinna Hardgrave

Had a fantastic experience at Big Fan Bao. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and really on top of things. The food was fresh and flavorful with lots of thoughtful touches that made each dish stand out. My favorites were the She’s Spicy and the enoki mushroom starter – both absolute must-tries. The atmosphere is great as well: upscale casual, stylish, and comfortable. It is tough to get a table, so definitely book ahead. Prices are on the higher end, but very fair for the quality and overall experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious, well-executed meal in a lovely setting.

BIGFAN was probably one of the best places to eat in Dublin. I’ve been there last week with my friend and it was amazing!!!!! The food, environment and the service was excellent, especially Rafaela, Lucas, Tassio and Nicole, they were really patient with us because we were confused about what we could order and they recommended the best dishes. We started with the prawn toast, that was delicious, the pork guioza was really soft and fresh, the chicken with spicy sauce no comments because it was so good, and to finish the best meal that I had, we tried the coconut and mango dessert, absolutely insane!! It was more a food experience to share with friends, it is not expensive, is actually worth it. I will probably come back. Thank you guys!!!!!

Went here yesterday for the first time for lunch around 2pm. I had high expectations as BIGFAN has been listed on Michelin Guides, and guess what? they absolutely deserved it :) Very tasty food, excellent service, good atmosphere, and beautiful presentation. As the waiter suggested to order 5-7 plates for 2 people, we've ordered: - BIGFAN Bao (Dong Po style Pork Bao) - Wu Ya Bao (18hr braised beef - spicy) - Pork Snowflake (Classic pork & chive jiaozi) - Xiao Long Bao (Pork soup dumplings) - Rare Irish Featherblade Steak (Fermented bean sauce) - Sweet & Sourdough Prawn Toast - She's Sweet (Taiwanese fried chicken with honey soy garlic butter sauce) - Dessert: Coconut & Mango Parfait All of the dishes were very tasty, tasted fresh, and presented very well. Our favourites are the Pork Snowflake, Rare Irish Featherblade Steak, and Xiao Long Bao❤️ Very tasty, all were very well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and excellent presentation (and temperature!). We went here to celebrate our new jobs, and it was an excellent place to celebrate. We will definitely come back here :)

My sister and I followed a recommendation and went to BIG FAN. Unfortunately we didn't make a reservation (must!!!), that's why we were seated the only table outside by the street. Since we didn't reservate it was absolutely fine. The nice manager from Brazil came to us to explain what the system due to ordering is about and so we started - we had (one portion of each) the LINGFEN WONTON, JIAZO WAGYU,QINLING LAM, FEATHER BLADE & SHE'S SPICY + two times KIMCHI. My favourite was "She's spicy" - my sister's choice. That's so delicious!!!! You need to consider the sizes and how hungry you are. The dishes don't come out at the same time! So you need to be quite patient 😜 We ordered these "dishes" and we're amazed by the tasteness. While trying each dish we just looked at each other and we're like "OMG". Of course some tapas werde extremely small like the KIMCHI. The only thing I would criticize is the size of the KIMCHI. Since we love kimchi it was great we ordered two of it before knowing how the proportion of it would be. If you're into extravagant and qualitative food - you'd be pleased there. Sure a visit means to leave some money there, but it's absolutely worth it! The waiter from Brazil was very nice and accommodating and had some minutes to chat with me even though business was very busy. We enjoyed the food. First we thought it was a pity we didn't sit inside, but its very noisy and busy inside what causes a bit of a stressful environment, besides it's very crowded inside when the restaurant is full. However we were satisfied and recommend trying out BIG FAN. After this visit we're Big fans indeed! Next time we'll travel to Dublin this restaurant is a must!!!

Couldn't recommend this place more, everything we ate was fantastic, great flavours quick and kind service and a really lovely atmosphere. A great mix of vegetarian and meat options, I would particularly recommend the beyond snowflake but really you can't go wrong!

This was probably the best meal I’ve ever had in Dublin, maybe even anywhere. Tasio, our server, was an absolute gentleman and genuinely one of the best servers I’ve ever had. The whole experience was exceptional, and at around €80 for cocktails, full stomachs, and desserts, it felt incredibly reasonable. Tasio for president

Absolutely incredible food! Every dish we sampled was outstanding. The restaurant is bustling and can get a bit noisy, and the high chairs aren’t the most comfortable, but the fantastic flavors more than make up for it.

I was not expecting to eat Chinese food in Ireland, being half Chinese and coming from a US state with plenty of delicious authentic Asian cuisine; however, this was one of the best rated restaurants in the area so we decided to check it out. I’m so glad we did because it was just what we needed after a long exhaustive day. It was easy in every way and the food came out fast. The food was delicious and a nicely done, unique, Irish-Chinese fusion, the place was good vibes, our waiter (Tassio) was pleasant and professional, and the price was reasonable. The enoki mushrooms were our favorite and the lamb was our least favorite, but everything else was good too. I’d gladly recommend this place to visitors.
