Birrieria Gonzalez Review - Compton - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Birrieria Gonzalez is a family-run truck specializing in goat birria, and while they have multiple locations around town, you can find them parked in front of East Rancho Dominguez Park daily from 8am to 10pm. The cheese in their quesabirria tacos is perfectly-browned on the top layer but still white and gooey as it clings to the consommé-dipped tortilla. The beef birria is also super flavorful, with the spicy consommé still dripping off the shredded meat. Naturally, it’s some of the best birria in LA." - Nikko Duren

Make sure to get cheese! Was not thinking when I ordered, and didn't get cheese, ordered more and they were better. The consome was the star here, meaty and excellent flavor. I will say... They are not the best birria I have had but still yummy and took care of the craving. They are very small but they do fill them up. The salsa also had a solid kick so make sure to taste test before smothering anything.

The red Salsa makes Everton tastes better make sure to get it! Everything sooo expensive!! Consome: a bit salty, good amount of meat and cebolla, lacking cilantro. Tacos: I asked for tacos dorados which I love, but the tortilla was corriosa(not sure how to say it in English) but meaning it was so hard to bite on, I could tell it was previously warmed up then it cooled down and after a while I came and that's what I got, meat was good, not the best but satisfied the craving adding the salsa. Agua fresca horchata: extremely sweet I couldn't finish it, definitely not recommended for diabetics. Service: the cashier was ok, she greeted us but was in a rush. The lady that brought our food to the table had a face that she didn't want to be there so it kind of ruins the moment a bit. The place: it was clean not to busy. Hope this helps!

I’m so torn because the birria is amazing and I’m willing to pay for the food. But the drinks?! I didn’t realize how expensive the drinks were until I got my recipe. 7 bucks for a Jamaica. It’s not even big!!! I guess I’ll just go for the food from now on and get my drinks elsewhere. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Google
Food is decent...but They jacked their prices up. Crazy now three quesatacos and one Jamaica runs you $20!!! 😬... They're no longer the quick quality cost effective meal that they used to be. I won't be returning too many other good options in East LA

The food here was bomb, it’s wayyy bigger inside than I expected, the food came fast. Everything was great. My husband got the quesabirria but realized he needed consomé so he bought some to go with it and was loving it.

The place is spacious and clean and the food is really good however the people that work here are pretty rude and ignore you given the opportunity for no apparent reason. I would like to think it isn't due to the prejudice that I don't speak or appear Spanish, but it really feels that way here. And the fact that 4 of their basic small tacos was 15$? I don't plan on coming back.

The food here was great. We had the birria tacos with a small consome and a agua de pepino. Everything was amazing but what I didn't like are the prices. Each Taco was around $3 which was a bit high because they are small tacos. But what really got me was $7 for a medium size agua de pepino. They are making a killing on their Aguas frescas. I didn't see how much they were till after she told me my total. No sean tan carrero$!!

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten birria tacos and didn’t love them, but I didn’t love these. The tortilla on these were very stale. Secondly, the size of these were that of a small street taco, not a restaurant size, but I still paid restaurant prices, and that’s not even with the consume. Pretty ridiculous actually when I think of it. The meat itself was the only good thing.
