"Bistango is the spot to visit for elevated dining near campus. The restaurant, which opened in 1987, serves upscale French and American cuisine in an expansive space that consists of a bar lounge and a lush outdoor patio – made complete with classy decor. Among the menu’s many options, the seabass, steak, and pasta dishes are the most beloved entrees. Bistango also regularly has live music performers, which is the cherry on top to the experience here." - Cathy Park

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day lunch at Bistango . The food was delicious, the quality was excellent, and the service was top-notch. A special shoutout to Ms. Cristina for her attentive and respectful service, which made our meal truly enjoyable. Highly recommend!

A few of us stopped for an early evening dinner on a Wednesday. We had reservations and were greeted and seated quickly, our server had great recommendations, impeccable timing and a great personality 🙏 Our drink orders came quickly which nice after a long day☺️. Our food was delicious, the Charred Spanish Octopus and the tuna tartar are absolutely irresistible if you are a seafood lover. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Google
Amazing restaurant, food was delicious, service was superb. Restaurant has been open over 30 years. The live music was so good. Not too loud and the atmosphere and ambiance was beautiful.

Google
Wonderful restaurant, quality delicious food, great service! My LEFTOVER beet and avocado salad still tasted as good as when it was served! And the creamed asparagus soup? Scrumptious! That's quality!

We had our business dinner event here, and the food and service are top-notch 👌. Very clean facility and plenty of parking in the parking structure. They validate your parking ticket, so make sure to bring the ticket with you.

Google
The service was EXCELLENT. Maybe that is common, or maybe it was because I was there with people who eat there often. But whatever the reason, the service was top notch. I had a salmon salad, which was very good. The dining room is bright and spacious. You could talk and hear each other without straining or shouting. They have valet parking and validated self parking.

Google
Extremely nice meal!! Knock on the service because they brought the wrong knife out for the chops. Excellent wine list, great wine by the glass selection. There is a live band playing most nights and it is very nice. There is artwork for sale at each station again really a nice touch for local artists. A vast selection on the menu. But get your dessert soufflé in early!!! Totally worth it. I will definitely go back here!

We had the most wonderful experience. The entire staff were very generous with their time and their smiles. Our server, Eddie, was attentive and well acquainted with the menu and bar. He helped guide us through our meal and drink selections and was the perfect gentleman. We started with the tuna tartare, my dinner was the fettuccine pasta, my other half enjoyed the king salmon, dessert was the pumpkin cheesecake. All of it was divine. We particularly enjoyed the appetizer and dessert. Overall, we felt very welcome and hope to be back again soon.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Prices make sense for where you are dinning. I also like the environment but i do feel like it needs a bit of an update in the restaurant. I had the martini which was pretty strong! Overall good experience.

Yelp
You may need to take out a loan if you dine here. Just be aware that reasonable does not apply to this establishment. $62 for a piece of fish? Yes, indeed. Having said that, and knowing that there is something special here, prepare for a culinary and artistic experience unlike any other. If you appreciate modern art, and food with somewhat of an Argentine flair, you'll have a potentially positive experience. Our group of four celebrated Thanksgiving dinner here, and three of us had the price fixe turkey dinner special, one had the sea bass dinner with salad. Portions are very large, and desserts are sinfully good. Service was efficient and professional. In terms of taste, let's just say that pairing Brussels sprouts with cranberry sauce and somewhat soggy stuffing is an unsuccessful endeavor. The turkey portions were large, with an equal amount of dark and white meat. Overall reaction, meh. Total bill for four, including gratuity came to $442. Not your everyday middle of the week type eatery, by any means.

Yelp
Amazing! My girlfriend and I decided to come here for date night after seeing the reviews from others. It lived up to its hype. This was one of my favorite dining experiences in a long time. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were among the most attentive I have ever seen. Our waiter must have stopped by our table at least a dozen times during our meal to refill water and offer more bread and butter. The food was exquisite. Portions are small but my girlfriend and I liked that. I got the Japanese pumpkin ravioli and she got the pan seared scallop Risotto. They were both amazing. For dessert, we got the almond pear tart and profiteroles. We loved both of those as well! The night that we went, there was live music which made the experience even more fun. We will definitely consider coming back here again for another date night in the future!

Yelp
Bistango is a restaurant in Irvine that serves new American cuisine. We decided last minute, on a Saturday night and were lucky to clinch a dinner reservation. The place was packed with diners. The ambiance is classy with art work adourning the surroundings, spacious seating and a live big band music group. The menu is enticing and making the decision of what to have was the difficult task at hand. We started with the sweet garlic soup, lightly creamy with a hint of garlic and fresh crunchy croutons. Two in our party split the Rosemary-Lemon Roasted Chicken Breast. It came with mushrooms, Haricots Verts, onions, potatoes and pan sauce. Absolutely delicious and well prepared. The last main was the Grilled Bacon Wrapped Petites Fillets, cooked medium rare. The dish came as a trio, each fillet covered with green peppercorn sauce (orange in color) sitting on potato puree (picture shows one fillet). A stunning dish, balanced flavors with explosive textures and captivating optics. For dessert, Tiramisu and Grand Marnier Soufflé. Both of these were hits and provided the perfect finish for a memorable dinner. Service was exceptional.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance was awesome. The restaurant is in the business complex but dinner at night is very peaceful and relaxing.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant in Irvine connecting to an office building. Service was good but the server liked to rush us to order. Presentation of food was an and taste was amazing. This is a great for a date night or for a gathering

Von M.

Yelp
I've been coming to this amazing restaurant since they're opened in 1987. I can comfortably say their ambience. The staff the food the presentation is that's good as it was when it opened. I feel this restaurant is arguably the best restaurant in Orange County and I would highly recommend it, if you want to have quality food and ambience or you can actually talk to your friends as well as enjoy a great music

Roger B.

Yelp
I was with a group of friends and this was the first time I was at Bistango. Great atmosphere, nice little trio of musicians etc, The first thing they give you is some bread/rolls and butter. They must have been sitting around for a while...I dunno who makes these rolls but the crust outside is like a thin piece of leather...wow I couldn't believe it but so be It. I ordered the BLT hanburger $38...I thought this must be really some burger...NOT. It was over done, I guess the chef's idea of meadium w/a pink center was not what my idea of that condition of finished burger, the beacon was very flat thin and lifeless, same for the tomato. I didn't want my friends which I had just met, to think I was a trouble maker so I didn't send it back. MY wife's dish of pasta and steak was really good, the meat was cooked just right and we should have that dish and shared it. I am a burger cook and I know if you don't keep a close eye on that paddy and take it off earilier than you think is necessary, if you want a pink center... it's way too done. To say this place is "Pricey" is an understatement, so I know I should have sent it back, but "Say la vie"

Mohamed N.

Yelp
Came here for a business dinner with a big group. The food had a pre-prepared taste to it, steaks were raw and rubbery. Service is questionable and rushing you to place you to order. Wouldn't recommend

Brian R.

Yelp
First time I there I went with my girlfriend we both love it will be back again the food was very delicious the ambiance and the service was on point

CYNTHIA T.

Yelp
I love the live music in the lounge and the gorgeous artwork to admire. The food is amazing I usually order the Sea Bass that's cooked to perfection it is served with Risotto and asparagus. The lamb chops are delicious cooked to perfection. Order the Grand Mariner Soufflé meet when you order your meal they make it fresh. Their Chocolate Martini is the best one I have ever tasted. It's always a great evening out the service is fantastic. Great for a date night.

Patience M.

Yelp
Came in at lunch time, we were seated quickly. Had an espresso martini to start, while it was decent, there wasn't anything special about it. Wedge salad was delicious 5/5 Chicken sandwich was kind of lackluster 4/5 Fries were hit and crisp and seasoned well Overall experience was good but I wouldn't see me coming back at lunch time, maybe the dinner is a better option.

Maureen C.

Yelp
The place is dead. I wait about 30 minutes to get my food and it arrives cold. Not to mention my drink was terrible. Last time here.

Banafsheh G.

Yelp
This place is outstanding, great sitting and beautiful band performance and a full bar. The food is amazing and delicious. Service was super. We cant wait to be back.

Shawna C.

Yelp
Giving this a 3.5, but rounding up to 4 stars based on an amazing experience and a bit of a weird one. Going to go a little vague on my first experience since it has been a while but I know it was an amazing one and I was looking forward to coming back. I had a cocktail the first time (strawberry lychee) as well as the same food items I had the second time (garlic soup and the small lamb chop entree. Amazing!) We also had the regular souffle with vanilla sauce and cream. It was delicious! Service was great. Our server was very kind, on top of everything, and even warned us to order the souffle well in advance because it could take about 35 minutes to prepare. He was great, and made our experience wonderful and all the food was delicious. We went for our second visit last night. I saw that same amazing server but we did not get him this time. I wish I could say the same about this one. He was friendly, but I felt like I had to do part of his job or remember things for him. He immediately offered water in which we said yes to regular water. There were three versions, one being sparking water. I don't like sparkling water but I also know these situations end up in additional costs and I found out they do that too. We also received bread. When it was time to order, he asked if we wanted to see a wine menu in which we said no, but he never asked what we wanted to drink or if we wanted any starters. I ordered the small version of the lamb chop entree again, medium well. Steven ordered a flat iron steak medium well. We both on our own ordered garlic soup for each of us and I let the server know we would both like iced teas. While we waited, we did receive a second piece of bread each. One thing they are on top of is drinks. Every time we drank an inch of water or iced tea, they were back to refilling it. I have been complaining for a while that restaurants rarely offer refills these days and you have to hunt them down, so I can't complain about the excessiveness of these refills, because we finally received them. We waited.... and waited.... and waited. There was an abundance of employees walking around at fast speeds taking plates, refilling drinks, and bringing bread. Definitely the bread. We were getting quite impatient waiting for our food. Three people offered a third piece of bread for us in which we said no thank you to all three. Still waiting for our food.... only one couple was there before us so there was no reason for this. Now many groups were piling in. So our server comes and tells us it will be a few more minutes. Then he actually says its slow because we ordered our food medium well and they cook it fresh. What??? Shouldn't every restaurant, especially high end, be cooking food fresh? What excuse is that if there was only one small group before us? I already knew that after all this, our food would not even be medium well. I assumed medium or less despite all this. Almost an hour in, no food. But, one of the three people we told no to bread to really wanted to get rid of the last of the bread in his basket and plopped the last two pieces of bread on each of our plates and took off. Well now that was wasted because we weren't going to squeeze more bread in our stomachs and said no three times. Finally our food arrives, and it turns out a group of three gentlemen who came after us even received their food right before us. (They had our previous server) As expected, I was half right. My food was well done and Steven's was medium. Also we ordered the chocolate souffle this time and we made sure to let the server know before our food came to get that started before we ended up spending the night there. As soon as you move your dish away or look done, they are quick to take the dishes. One lady even took my plate for my souffle I was waiting on and I had to stop her. The chocolate souffle was also good, but we both liked the original one better and I am a big chocolate fan. They were quick to bring the check at least. Go figure, although I get really mad when we are trapped waiting on the check. All in all I still really enjoy this restaurant. We just had a much better experience our first round. When we eventually return, hopefully it will be more like the first one.

Yelp
Great food. Lovely ambiance. Oven Roasted Chilean Sea Bass (4/5) - Served with a mushroom risotto, asparagus, truffle essence, and concord grape reduction. I don't really recall the truffle essence or the concord grape reduction, but I do know the sea bass was melt-in-your-mouth, flaky and generously portioned. Chocolate souffle (4/5) - Order this before you dig into your entree! These babies require a 30-minute lead time, so let your server know if you're interested so that your dessert will follow promptly after your dinner. The souffle was like a pillowy cloud in the best kind of way. Having the server crack open the top and dress it up with whipped cream and chocolate sauce was a treat. Grand Marnier souffle (5/5) - Same rules apply here - order early if you know you'll be committing to this freshly-baked dessert! I'm a self-proclaimed chocolate fanatic, but truthfully, the Grand Marnier souffle took the cake. It was way more nuanced than its chocolate brethren and was paired with a floral orange liqeuer sauce. It was so good that I forgot to take photos, sigh. For some reason, the souffles aren't on the menu, but do ask your servers about it if interested! My favorite part of the evening (besides the food) was being able to sit in this pseudo-patio space while still being indoors! The space offers modestly upscale vibes, but without the stuffiness. I'll be back for the Grand Marnier souffle!

Yelp
Inside and out, the ambiance is gorgeous. Parking was tricky because we didn't realize it was in a business building. We thought we had the wrong address. Park in the parking structure and take ticket to get validated by hostess. The food was disappointing because the presentation was beautiful! The clam chowder had tortilla strips and some greens on it. I appreciate the fusion but I couldn't taste the clams. Same for the crab cakes. So much watercress on top, I couldn't taste anything but its aftertaste. I HIGHLY recommend you ask fir the dishes plain/traditionally made. There was a special event going on and there was no notice on n our reservation. Our dog scared the crap out of the waiter because he was so anxious with the loud conversations surrounding our table on the patio. It was just weird. We appreciate the accommodations, but it's better to add a message on reservations for such a events. We live 35 minutes away and were disappointed. The staff were wonderful and covered for our waitress (they were busy waiting on special event guests) that disappeared after we ordered our drinks. We won't be going back but it's really because for the price, we were expecting amazing food.

Yelp
Proscuitto, fig, burrata 9.28/10- this was so fire, everything was incredibly fresh. I absolutely loved this combination as it went together perfectly. I really liked how the figs were smaller as it made to craft the perfect bite. I wish there was more balsamic and olive oil as it really added flavor to the dish. Wasn't a huge fan of the arugula as it overpowered the dish Filet mignon 9.63/10- this was so good, the meat was perfectly tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes were also incredible, they had the perfect hint of garlic and melt in your mouth- great complement to the steak Garlic soup 9.68/10- this was so good, their best starter hands down. It's incredibly creamy and made with chives. Comfort food vibes Chocolate soufflé 9.88/10- literally a chocolate lovers dream omg. Incredibly gooey and warm on the inside with the perfect outer edge. The waiter also cracks the top and pours dark chocolate sauce in the middle which seeps through the cake. Grand Mariner Soufflé 1000/10- the absolute best dessert, it's incredible. I'm a huge chocolate fan however this was even more nuanced than the chocolate soufflé, and had a hint of lemon citrus as well as vanilla bean. Literally the best, we ordered 2. Our server cracked the top open and poured an orange licquor sauce that was floral which complemented it perfectly. Icecream Pastry 9.54/10- delicious, they gave this for my moms birthday and it was incredibly good. Tasted like an Icecream cream puff. So good but incomparable to the soufflés. Make sure you order the soufflés while you eat your entree as it takes 30 min for them to make! Absolutely love Bistangos for their remarkable soufflés, changing artwork, and amazing live music that made my moms birthday so special tonight Instagram: @hungrytamale

Yelp
One of the reasons why this place has been here for over 35 years, is the great dishes, ambience and service. You won't be disappointed!

Judy D.

Yelp
If you're looking for an intimate vibe this is the spot. Not your typical steakhouse plating, more of a fine dining plating style. We got a fish plate and lamb chops, the lamb was perfectly cooked still pink inside and not dry. The fish plate was decent needed a tad bit more seasoning. Overall it was a good dining experience, good for date night.

Neeta B.

Yelp
My husband and I love this place for date nights. The food is consistently great. The music and dancing is romantic. And Frankie and the bar staff always provide top notch service. My favorite drink is the Irish-O and my husband likes the old fashioned. Guacamole and chips is a great appetizer. And we usually order the steak and chicken entrees. I am never disappointed at Bistango.

Yelp
Came for New Year's Eve. Even when we arrived, they made us and a lot of other families wait at the front for 20 minutes, even though we had a registration. When seated, service was fine until food was ordered, Around an hour and 10 minutes after getting to the restaurant (possibly about 45?ish minutes after ordering) a server assured us our food was coming. Around 20 minutes later we complain, and the manager comes around and tells us something about our order was switched up and blames it on the staff. Before that day, they had told us we would have to be out by 8, and one of the members of my group was going to leave at 8. At this point it was 8, so they offer to give that member's food to go. We were appalled. The food was good, but it was marred by the member having to eat the food quickly and leave. Dessert was good too, although the only options were extremely light or extremely heavy. They did not give us free drinks of dessert, even though they had made a mistake and completely messed up. Even more, the table next to us had a dish which included lobster. They did not like lobster, so they asked for no lobster and thought they would get a discount. They charged them for the entire meal. The ambiance was ok, because while the main part was super pretty and fully of balloons and even some of the outside area was too, the area squished in the corner I was in was not decorated, We got no balloons. Food was absolutely amazing, service terrible. It is due to this I would NOT recomend.

Yelp
Service excellent, food top notch, ambiance was quiet. Planning to return soon. I even got gift cards for Christmas.

Yelp
I have been a customer at Bistangos for 35+ years. It has always been my favorite adult restaurant. This year I decided to go there for Thanksgiving Dinner with my friend. We ordered the pre fix Thanksgiving menu. The 1st course was a mixed salad. The salad was good but enough for 3 people. The 2nd course consisted of Turkey, Mash Potato, a small serving of Cranberry sauce, and a large portion of stuffing mixed with various vegetables. The stuffing was awful. It was like a stew of some sort in a very dark sauce. Every product was over cooked. The 3rd course was choice of a dessert. I selected the Bread pudding. The pudding was not good. It was full of nuts that were soft and soggy. Nuts go on top of the pudding so they remain crisp. The pudding was actually not edible ruined by the cottony, flavorless nuts. All in all the meal was a disappointment. This is Thanksgiving without the beautiful traditional stuffing and vegetables. No candied yams or green beans, cornbread, and other creative opportunities. We will continue to be a faithful customer and enjoy the great menu, weekend music, and adult atmosphere. Thank you, Stan And Engela beckerstan47@gmail.com

Yelp
We had a party of 9 dine here for lunch which all but one was trying it for the very first time. The restaurant dining area was beautiful! It was decorated beautifully for the Christmas holiday. Our server Eddie was awesome, he tended to our entire table and helped those of us unsure about what to order. My wife ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, and I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. The food was delicious! The restaurant hit all the right points (food*service*ambiance)! There were no leftovers to take home, at least from our orders. It was a great time! Eddie was also just as good a photographer as he was a server. He took several photos of our group, from all angles of the table. Coffee was good, restrooms were clean, food was reasonably priced for the quality, and their parking was plenty. We had no negatives to report. We look forward to dining here again whenever we're in the Irvine area again.

John S.

Yelp
The service is good but not great. The overall style of the restaurant is outdated. It's a gigantic fish bowl feeling which means it's loud. The food quality was bland. The Spanish shrimp entree is what you could make by watching a You Tube video for 5 min. The swordfish was very good which had a mushroom gravy flavor. We ordered two glasses of champagne which was cold and served in chilled glasses. Overall just a mediocre restaurant in an old run down corporate building.

J G.

Yelp
I went for an event so my review is based on that. I ordered the tuna tartare, filet mignon, and tiramisu. None of the food was especially good. The filet was raw. The tiramisu was just lacking something. Just not great. Service was top notch. There was a band playing which was a bit distracting for the event. But would have been great for a nice cocktail.

Sue R.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service, wonderful ambience, and music. What more could you want?

Karen F.

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised with my meal here! It was a business lunch, so no pics and no dessert, but the food was quite good. They offer free parking as well as valet parking with validation, which was nice. The service from all the staff was friendly and efficient, slightly formal, but not obsequious. We arrived at opening for lunch and I expected it to stay empty, but quickly filled up with diners. I will say that the guests, with the exception of us, we're mostly very homogeneous. After getting our drink order, they came by with a bread basket and offered us fresh, hot bread; it was good. We each ordered a fish dish and they were all quite good; each fish was cooked perfectly (salmon, cod, and halibut). The sides accompanying the fish were similar, but each had its own sauce. I will say it was a bit pricey for the food, but given it's filled with folks having a business lunch, the pricing makes sense. I'd definitely go back if I was looking for a place in the area.

Sam S.

Yelp
major rip off! I would give zero starts for the food if I could. Mediocre service, terrible quality ingredients. $90 prefix Christmas dinner gets you A salad or A butternut squash soup which was ok A very chewy New York strip steak, 3 small scallops or a slice of dry salmon For dessert there were no options, just a slice of store bought pecan pie Ordered crab cakes, got one small crab cake. The bill was $450 for 3 people, which in my opinion was ridicules considering the fact that the dishes were Applebee's quality at best. Honestly, that was one of the my worst culinary experiences here in OC.

Haley K.

Yelp
Always love coming here. Used to work in the building and it was always a treat to come here for work lunches. I was able to stop in today and without fail I cannot seem to get myself to order anything but the bacon wrapped shrimp risotto no matter what. It is fantastic. The type of risotto changes on occasion and today it was butternut squash. My personal favorite is the sweet corn risotto but I really enjoyed the butternut squash today. They have fantastic desserts and used to do soufflés for dinner (not sure if still available) and those were fantastic too! My boss loves the octopus salad. Service is always super friendly. The missing star is due to service being slow at times. It was great today but having been here over the years it can be super quick or slow. The missing star would not stop me from recommending!

Stephen G.

Yelp
Live jazz most nights of the week. Extensive wine list and bar list. Separate bar menu.

Steven C.

Yelp
Every couple months or so my wife and I like to go out and splurge on a nice date night type dinner. We have ran across so many places we have loved over the years but are always looking for more and taking suggestions from friends, family members and just reviews in general. This past trip brought us to Bistango which I had never heard of but found through Open Table and quickly snatched up so weekend reservations. Bistango is located at the corner of an industrial style complex and has valet parking onsite or you can use the parking structure around the corner (validation inside for weekdays - weekends appear to be free without validation). Despite the industrial complex vibe outside as soon a you walk in the restaurant changes and you immediately see the upscale ambiance. We had reservations and arrived a few minutes early and were quickly seated at a nearby table. Our server for the evening was tremendous and gave us the rundown on the specials and really stayed on top of things throughout our dining experience. He quickly brought complimentary bread and butter to the table and took our drink order, the strawberry lychee for my wife and the forbidden sour for myself and both were quite strong yet refreshing. For starters, I went with the wedge salad and it was delicious and quite large but at $18 was a tough pill to swallow. My wife went with the sweet garlic soup and seemed to really enjoy it. I had a bite of it as well and it was delicious and something I would definitely go with on a future visit. For our main dishes we went with a half portion of lamb chops and the 12oz Prime Angus New York Steak with green peppercorn sauce. My steak was cooked to perfection for me and the peppercorn sauce was amazingly flavorful and the lamb seemed like a great size portion for my wife as well. We both enjoyed the dishes and also had dessert coming. The server had taken our dessert order of a Grand Marnier Souffle at the same time as our meals to get it into the kitchen as this takes around 30 minutes to prepare and he wanted to have it in early to mitigate any possible wait. The souffle was quite good although not my favorite but definitely something I would opt for again although I would also like to try the chocolate variety as well. Overall this was a pricey but great dining experience for both of us. I almost lowered this to a 4 just due to the pricing as this had also just gone up apparently from the posted website pricing by almost $2 an item from the time I made the reservation to the time we dined in but the taste, service and overall experience more than made up for it. I absolutely enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back again down the road for another date night or special celebration.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time at Bistango for lunch . Let's give it 5 stars . Quality and Ambience

Paul D.

Yelp
Where do I start. Had a reservation for Valentine's Day but I guess reservations don't matter here. Ended up waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time to get seated. They put us in their "private room" which seemed more like a storage space they had to use to seat people because they overbooked. For a preset menu at the price of $125 per person, tax and gratuity not included I was expecting quality food. However, that was not the case. The lobster bisque had a piece of ravioli in it that was the "lobster" part of the soup... this tasted like a canned heated up soup with a piece of ravioli in it, no lobster found. For the main dish I ordered the surf and turf however on the menu it does not clarify what the surf part is. For the price I was paying I was expecting a small lobster tail but nope. Their surf and turf you get 2 pieces of store bought shrimp and a mediocre steak cooked nothing like how you asked for it to be prepared. Worst experience ever. Save your money this place is a legit scam.

Yelp
Bistango never disappoints. You don't go to Bistango to eat only . The very atmosphere of esthetics in everything they do . Art collection on the walls , live music , the presentation of their dishes, service and much more . There is some sort of magical attraction in this place for us . We keep returning here for all the happy events of our lives .

Champagne M.

Yelp
Seated in a room off the main dinning room It looked more like a garage than part of the restaurant Our meal lasted 3 hours not by choice but because we were forgotten Fours arrived after 90 min cold. One member of our party's entree was completely forgotten Without question the worst dinning experience of my life.

Yelp
I invited our dear friends for dinner to celebrate my husband's 45th birthday, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Our waiter Victor was and always has been phenomenal. He took excellent care of our party. Everything at Bistango, from the ambiance to the exceptional food and exemplary service, makes it one of my favorite restaurants. Thanks to everyone for ensuring our evening turned out perfectly.

Yelp
Went here for a holiday party luncheon so had a private room in the back. Room was very spacious and was beautifully decorated. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Since we had a set menu with choices for a soup or salad, entree and dessert it was easy to pick my dishes. The beef fettuccini pasta was creamy without being too heavy and there were hearty portions of beef in the pasta. Overall very good food and great service

Yelp
Went to see the band Old Spice which was listed on Bistango's website (picture posted below). I sat at the bar, the bartender was not attentive. He was busy talking to a regular about cooking. Finally, I flagged down a female bartender and ordered a drink and a wedge salad. I noticed there was a musician setting up but it was not Old Spice. I asked the bartenders which band was playing and they didn't know. I asked the guy who was setting up and he said his French wife was playing jazz. Salad was ok, the tablespoon of dressing was nice and peppery but had to ask for more dressing. Jazz singer was ok but not the vibe I was expecting so I ate my salad and left. Talked to the band leader of Old Spice online and he said Bistango double-booked and cancelled on them at the last minute. Clearly, Bistango BS'd them because if they double-booked, then why wouldn't they go with Old Spice like they had posted on their website??? Also, when my cab driver tried to get out of the gate, it wouldn't let him through. There was no attendant. He had to call several times, the guy told him he was there for more than five minutes so he had to pay even though the sign said there's a 15 minute grace period. He had to get out of the car and flag someone down who finally let us out. It's a very disorganized place all around. What a disappointment, I won't return!

Yelp
This is the second year my boss has treated our small office to lunch at Bistango. We each loved our items from last year, and were pleased to see the same menu offered this year. My Chilean sea bass was exactly as I remembered, deliciously seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Our table also ordered the fettuccine with filet, pasta puttanesca, spaghetti bolognese, and mixed green salads with apples and pears. The food was spectacular. The only issue I had with our experience was with the service. Upon walking into the outside dining area, my boss asked if we could be seated at a booth. The gentleman seating us snootily informed us the booths were only for reservations (which we had) even though it was a Thursday afternoon and there were several booths empty. Also, for a more upscale establishment, I was turned off by my bread plate having visible food remnants on it.

Yelp
Had the best dinner last night. The manager and the staff were very accommodating. The salmon was delicious and the Grand Marnier soufflé was out of this world. Highly recommended it.

Yelp
I took my son to Bistango for his birthday. Outstanding dinner as well as service and ambiance. Classy all the way. I had the flank steak and my son had the rib-eye. I also ordered the wedge salad which was so good and a meal in itself. I asked if they offered any non alcohol drinks and although not listed on the menu, they can make about anything you'd like, and our server suggested a strawberry daiquiri. It was best I've ever had! Very pleasant experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend Bistango.

Yelp
Delicious food! The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare! Not many places get the right temperature for food. The 16oz Rib Eye comes with one side of potatoes, we added one mo re side and it was enough for two people! Previously we had had the wedge salad as an appetizer which I did not take a picture off but it was delicious too. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music, very nice location. Service was very flat and we had to wait a long time to have our order taken but it's definitely a place I would go back for the great food. Parking it's $8 an hour but they validate your ticket at the end which I was not expecting but was very nice.

Yelp
One of the treasures in OC and reasonable price. Their steaks are cooked so well and their soufflés must be the best in town. Grand mariner is amazing.

Yelp
For my Dad's surprise birthday party, I decided on Bistango and the "Studio" area! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made for a surprise event at a restaurant. Professionalism I started speaking with event coordinator Tamara for my dad's birthday and then Karyn took over. Both had excellent communication skills, very informative, and made setting up the event very, very easy! I was so impressed that Karyn even asked me if I wanted a "fake reservation" just in case my Dad got to the restaurant early and found out we had a larger group than he was told would be there. Service We had our own dedicated server named Mike in the "Studio" area. He was the best server I've ever had at a restaurant hands down! All my friends were also impressed with his service. We brought our own wines from Frisby Winery! Mike always made sure our glasses were full and changed out the glasses as we went from one wine to another! Mike did not rush anything! He made sure we finished our appetizers and then made sure we were ready to order dinner when we wanted. We brought two homemade pies which he put the candles on for us and then sliced the pies up after we sang "Happy Birthday" to my Dad. Mike's support staff also did a great job too! The hostesses (Olivia and Delany) were also very friendly. I believe it was Olivia that was aware of the surprise birthday party. While walking us towards the studio she actually to us to different areas of the restaurant to delay the surprise. It worked perfectly. The manager, Ray, was also very professional and made sure everything was to our standards. He checked in often. We all decided to finish the night at the bar and the bartenders were also great! The live music at the bar was a plus! Food The food was amazing! The Octopus for appetizers was very tasty! Everyone loved the Clam Chowder and Sweet Garlic soup. Among the main entrees ordered were the Sea Bass, Filet Mignon, Rib- Eyes, Salmon and the Pork Chops... all were beyond delicious! Studio (Dining Area) Awesome semi-private area of the restaurant. It's perfect for parties under 20 or so. I highly recommend! Hopefully you get Mike! You can see how impressed I was with every aspect of Bistango! Highly recommend!

Yelp
From the valet to walking inside, we felt completely welcomed with our table preference being accommodated for a working lunch. The waitstaff service was top tier with beautiful recommendations from the server. I was easily accommodated without dairy in salad and entree. I started with the octopus salad and had a salmon burger (they make in house) which were both delightful. They feature very tasteful art for sale which sets a beautiful ambience, paired with the open air sails they have a gorgeous venue. I only ate here for a work lunch but it wasn't too loud and my only regret is that I won't be back here for dinner to experience some of their wines/dinner entrees.

Yelp
Top notch! More of a fine dine spot, but great for a business lunch. Menu is full of choices for all preferences. The seating is all indoors, but extends out into the atrium of the building. Decor and shading over atrium area are elegant and fun at the same time. I have been here several times for lunch. In my trips I have had a sandwich, salad, and lunch specials in my visits. The latest king salmon was the best. If looking for a good business lunch spot then this is your place. Stop reading and go on in.

Yelp
So, food was ok. The ambiance was great and the service was good. The food however was a ok. The gnocchi was great but the steaks came out warm almost cold. Not the best quality. The cheesecake was amazing. Drinks were a 4 out of 5. Would I come back. I don't think so.
