Best Restaurants in the Hamptons | Eater NY

"No detail has been overlooked at this hidden gem in Water Mill, where they even age their own beef and spirits. Chef Arie Pavlou does an expert preparation of staples like escargot, or raclette. Tuna dusted with za’atar over fattoush salad is a favorite and pairs well with the famous truffle martinis. There is even a special menu for dogs." - Beth Landman

The 29 Best Restaurants In The Hamptons - New York - The Infatuation

"Located in the back of the Watermill Commons, Bistro Ete serves a mix of delicious French and Mediterranean food. It’s charming, laid-back, and a bit more hidden away, which is the opposite of all other Hamptons restaurants. Go for the tableside raclette, melted by a mini charcoal grill on the table, and served with traditional alpine accoutrements. This spot is also known for its extravagant dog menu—think bacon-wrapped chicken thigh stuffed with spinach and topped with veal sauce plus fresh shaved summer truffles (chased down with a bowl of Evian, of course). So expect some cute, if not spoiled, pups on the patio." - melissa kravitz hoeffner

16 Late Summer Dining Spots in the Hamptons

"Cordon Bleu trained chef Arie Pavlou has been wowing diners with coastal French cuisine ranging from escargot to steak he dry ages himself.  Local striped bass gets a champagne truffle sauce, and zucchini noodles swim in a zesty pomodoro that can be topped with wild shrimp.  Fridays there are specials of foie gras (which comes with a complimentary glass of wine), and charcoal rotisserie chicken, that can also be picked up and enjoyed at home. The Hamptons most pampered pups have a menu of their own here, complete with truffles and peanut butter coconut ice cream." - Beth Landman

Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday evening. Brought both dogs and had amazing experience. It’s not a place I’d frequent (the drive is almost an hour and a half from where we live), but as a once or twice a year event, would absolutely come back. The food prepared for our dogs was something I was actually interested in eating so you can expect some extremely upscale dining options. The stand out was our server though. Kat was fantastic, going above and beyond, telling us the truth about food choices as it relates to our appetite, allergies, and taste preferences. We stuck with her suggestions through most of the meal and were not disappointed at any point. The owner was super kind and our truffle cup run over. She even came over with truffle to ensure dogs got truffle on their food! Some folks complained in these reviews about the stuffed animals inside but we were delighted to see a large plush of Remy the rat from the film Ratatouille sitting at a table just inside the front door. Warmed my heart, so I say keep em! Also, if they have the truffle grilled cheese, you need it in your life. You just do. Get it. Now.

Absolutely incredible dishes, and so very sweet and patient with dogs. Our pup got to enjoy the doggy menu over the weekend, and the staff was so accommodating. Highly recommend

RIDICULOUSLY GOOD STEAK!!!! My husband and I were in the mood for a great steak and had heard so much about Chef Arie’s aged beef. We showed up early and were lucky to secure last minute table. I’m a professional chef- and I will tell you this was one of the most incredible steaks I’ve had in my life! We ordered the NY strip- cooked perfectly, every bite delicious. The chanterelle sauce was an added bonus! Highly, highly recommend!!!!

The space is beautiful, both inside and outside - though the outside could do with a little more decor. Service is also wonderful and warm; the staff members were so sweet to our dog and he loved the house-made doggy biscuits. The drinks were great - well balanced and strong. The raspberry chocolate espresso martini is not to be missed! Unfortunately, the food was a huge let down for us. We were initially excited to see the wide range of vegetarian options, which is unusual at a french restaurant. But the chef did not seem to know how to treat the vegetables; they were unseasoned from the inside and the beans were hard and undercooked. The grandly named potato “poppers” were just… cubes of fried potato with a forgettable aioli. We ordered the mushroom scallops and were shocked at how tasteless they were - setting aside the lack of seasoning, they didn’t even taste much like mushrooms. The one good dish was the brie and mushrooms wrapped in puff pastry but that is also a stunningly simple dish to make. Overall, we were disappointed by the chef’s lack of expertise in cooking vegetables, despite being trained at Le Cordon Bleu. We may be back for drinks and the vibe, but I don’t think we would eat here again.

From the owners to the staff this place is truly special. Amazing food and wonderful cocktails. Top notch and we can’t wait to come back.

Google
Amazing service! Staff was incredibly friendly and treated us—and our dog—with a lot of love. Food was very good but I personally felt not worth the price (though this may just be a product of the location). Would be happy to come back but might be more suited to a special occasion than a typical dinner.

Haven’t had a good dish from this restaurant in the 2 times I’ve went here. The dishes are appealing on the menu but the taste isn’t. The food is mostly bland and texturally unpleasant. The service for the most part was good, but chef Ari was annoying.

Google
The restaurant has a nice style and has a nice outside terrace. The problem is that there are corny teddy bears and stuffed animals all over the entrance of the place. Also the chef, Chef Arie, is an egotistical corny person who is obsessed with himself. He puts his name over everything. He also stuck in a bite of jamon iberico before serving it to our table. He looked around and looked for anyone looking when he stuck it but he didn’t notice us looking. They also served a 500 degree rock with my dry, overcooked steak. They didn’t warn me not to touch the rock so then I tried move the rock out of the way of my steak and it burned my finger.

Yelp
Such a lovely place for dinner in the Hamptons! It's feels very low key and unpretentious, which is hard to find in the Hamptons. My girlfriend and I came here for a birthdays dinner and it was absolutely perfect. They have giant teddy bears you can take pictures with, which is probably a great draw for kids. Food was fantastic! We shared two appetizers and a specialty lobster pasta. It was the perfect amount of food.

Yelp
We chose to dine here after our weekend out East. We had a few drinks which were fine. Our meals were fine. I ordered duck confit which is typically crispy but I think due to the blueberry it became a little soggy. And if we could go based on the meal itself then I would recommend going here. Though the meal wasn't bad we noticed a few inconsistencies on how we were served compared to those around us. I'm historically not someone who will make a big deal out of it but given that there were multiple back to back things happening we decided to leave a note. We were not angry or upset but did want it to be noted because that way staff can be more mindful of this for the next guest. We figured they were small and probably explainable but again, given that it was multiple things we thought leaving a note would be the easiest and discrete way to mention everything. After having left we were contacted by text with a very unprofessional message. I was honestly shocked at how we were approached and vastly disappointed in how the situation was handled. Additionally, we did not leave our number with anyone so not sure how they got our number but I'm assuming they looked up our number based on when we made our reservation. I've worked in service and other jobs and so has my partner. Anytime I've been met with a complaint or someone providing me with advice I've taken it on the chin, if it applied then I'd work on improving and "if it don't apply, I let it fly" I leave it alone. I've NEVER contacted or tried to argue back with anyone trying to bring something to my awareness so I was truly shocked at how they decided to go about this. We should all be open to critique but even beyond that be open to listen to someone else's experience and try to see how this could be handled professionally and with grace instead of aggressively texting your customers.

Yelp
We came here for lunch to celebrate Mother's Day. It's located in a small cute shopping center. We parked in the back and we were able to get outside seating for our party of four. We were happy to see that they had a special menu for puppies. We started off with drinks and an appetizer. I had the truffle martini. It did not disappoint. Presentation was amazing and the drink was strong. All of our food was amazing. I think our puppy felt like we were celebrating his birthday or something. There were a very cute seat for him and an impressive menu. The entire staff was amazing! We felt welcomed and they were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you want to have an amazing meal.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff and a wonderful place to eat. One of the best meal in the Hamptons. Nice seating inside and outside. We chose outside which worked out well in summer

Yelp
The most warm welcoming place in the Hamptons. Liz is the manager and owner and makes you feel welcome. She is also a dog lover and makes you and your furry friend feel welcome. They even have a dog menu and dog beds. The lettuce and pea soup was fantastic. Vegans this is something you will love. The duck wings are very unique. The look of chicken drum sticks with the taste of BBQ and duck mixed together. This chef is a creative genius. Lindsay was our server and took great care of us. The ambiance is nice and this place is great even in the off season. This place makes great espresso martinis. Their scallops are incredible. (Nice and hot ant white all the way through) not to mention extremely tasty. I look forward to going back and recommend this place for everyone (both two legs and four)

Yelp
Had my 1st mediocre experience here, usually they're on top of their game. The escargot were flavorless, no garlicky, parsley flavors to be detected. The beef tartare was half the portion i had last year, and lacked flavor also. Ordered the duck paella, the duck was nice and tender but the rice was overly smoked, felt like i was eating a piece of charcoal. Service was good. Was disappointed as this was one of my favorite spots in the Hamptons.

Mike C.

Yelp
Fine dining experience, wide variety of dishes good service, Never felt rushed, allowed to savored our meal.

Shari O.

Yelp
Best restaurant on the east end! No question. Chef Arie is terrific and incredible mixed drinks.

Malda H.

Yelp
Consistently one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in the Hamptons. Delicious and innovative food served in a homey environment (husband Ari is chef and bartender and wife Liz manages the restaurant). Prices are high, but the food and ambiance are incredibly special.

Yelp
The food was excellent here, but I think the waitress might have been new, which made the meal a little less enjoyable. I wanted to order something with truffles, so we were recommended by the waitress to get the poppers with fresh shaved truffle on top. They were great! We also ordered a salad that was recommended by someone who ate here before. When our main courses came, I was very surprised to see that mine came with the exact same salad we ordered and the exact same potato poppers. Not only had the waitress not told us that we were going to get the same salad, but she was also the one who recommended the poppers. Had we known that we would have wanted to try something else! Throughout the meal, we were checked on a little too frequently than normal where we would be in the middle of a conversation and interrupted. When we were finished, suddenly the opposite happened. We had trouble getting the check! I feel bad because I do think that the waitress was new and probably just trying her best. I would give this place another shot because the food was very good though.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! Took long enough for being a local on the east end of Long Island to get here. My wife and I were warmly greeted by Jake! A Very nice young fellow. We both started with the French onion soup which is the best I've ever had! Especially on such a cold winter night. Brrr!! After the soup we ventured onto our main course in which we shared...The duck paella! Quack! Who knew! We've Never heard of a duck paella before, until coming here. A hearty, flavorful, perfectly balanced dish. This establishment did not miss a beat. Definitely worth a bite! Quack!

Yelp
Stopped in here with my SIL and nieces last week. Understated elegant atmosphere, fantastic service, great wine menu and the food was delicious. Sometimes it's hard to find a restaurant that's elevated without being pretentious-Bistro Ete was an unsuspected gem and really makes you feel at home. Will absolutely be back with my husband and friends!

Yelp
Restaurant, food, staff, owner and family, words can't describe how perfect it all is here! Arguably best restaurant on the island!

Yelp
It was our first time here this evening for a 6 pm reservation. Overall excellent and trendy. We ate outside. We started with mineral water - Perrier of course they served. And we had two Negronis. Patrizia had the bourbon and I had gin. Patrizia likes her drinks sweet! The served bread with whipped butter. The bread was to die for. For appetizers we had the octopus which was delicious. Braised Wild Caught Spanish Octopus Burst Cherry Tomatoes | Gigante Beans. I had to try the French onion soup since the chef is French trained. It didn't disappoint and was fabulous. It will never taste the same again. For dinner Patrizia had the veal ossobuco over lemon risotto with peas. She said it was delicious especially the marrow. The peas she would have liked a little softer but that's her taste. It's a big portion by the way. She didn't finish it. I had the special which was a halibut with Champagne Truffle Sauce served with Potato Puree & Sautéed Spinach....a touch of cream makes this sauce silky & delicate! And it was. They have so many fabulous desserts to select and we were so stuffed. We simply opted for a cookie ice cream sandwich - espresso coffee flavor. They make their own ice cream here. It was ok. Came out hard as a rock and hard to slice. Maybe we should have had the crème brûlée :-) This place is definitely up there in price but very enjoyable. With tax $261. Service was excellent. We left a $55.00 tip. Thanks so much and go check it out. Ciao Sal & Patrizia

Yelp
Now we're getting to the good stuff. I gave this one the nod because it's in the top three of all restaurants we experienced during covid while in the Hamptons. The outside area was among the best we experienced- I even dug the weird globe-like lighting all over the yard. Service was also excellent- nothing like being served by good looking people. It doesn't make the food taste any better, but it doesn't make it taste worst either, if you know what I mean. Luckily, in this case, the food stood on its own. I had a lovely duck and my dining companion really enjoyed his scallops, among other dishes. Drinks were also tasty, so overall a great experience. If I had one tiny nit it would be that the food was somewhat expected- a wee bit more creativity wouldn't hurt. But that's a small thing. We had a great meal here.

Yelp
Great food and service. Owned and operated by husband and wife team. Chef Ari & his wife Liz are the nicest and caring people. Love this place!

Yelp
Liz and Arie are the owners of this establishment and they are an excellent team. The food is outstanding and chef Arie is always there to oversee the food is perfect. Liz manages the bar and the dining room and all ensures you have a wonderful dining experience.

Yelp
Bistro Ete has been our favorite local restaurant since it opened. There are a number of excellent restaurants on the east end and my husband and I enjoy many of them. However, in our opinion, there aren't many restaurants with as gifted a chef and owner as Chef Arie at Bistro Ete. We just finished a delicious dinner. Started with an appetizer of clams a huge delicious pork chop and a tasty fish preparation of hake(which I had never had before). This was accompanied by the best Margaritas we've ever had.(also mixed by the chef) In addition to the exceptional food, Arie and his wife (who runs the restaurant) are friendly and kind people. We have witnessed Arie welcoming and serving a meal to people that clearly don't have the ability to pay for the meal. Dining here is very special.

Yelp
This place is such a little gem! From the beautifully decorated dinning room to the wait staff, the diversity of the menu and the incredible food. I give them an A++++, 10 out of 10!!!! We all had the best meal from start to finish! My son loved the octopus app, i had a hand made pasta with a truffle parm sauce ( so delish), french onion soup for the hubbs and truffle grilled cheese with a califlower mini soup truffle infused to dip into ( this was outstanding!!!!) If you go and this is avail( i think it was a speacial the night we went) you must try it! Dinner my son and i had pom frites with truffle poppers, daughter had roasted chicken and hubbs had a pasta dish. I cant say enough, our server checked on us multiple times and was so attentive , this place will now be on our favs list, cant wait to go back! It is a high end restaurant so prices are not cheap but its worth every penny! Dont pass up a chance for a memorable meal!!

Yelp
What a gem of a place! Celebrated my birthday here last year, which was such a treat! I had to bring my sister here over the summer so she could try it herself too. The restaurant is cozy, colorful, and lively. Indoor and outdoor seating. The service was great, our server was so accommodating and sweet, very descriptive and helpful. As for the food, amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully plated, I could not put my cocktail down, it was so good. Even the ice cubes for the water is refreshingly cute as well. They change their menu often, and they never miss on their specials. Cute for dates, or special occasions. Enjoy!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for dinner and sat outside in early October while it was still warm out and we had a wonderful evening. They have a corkage fee so we brought a nice bottle of wine with us to share. I also ordered a delicious old fashioned cocktail to start. For our food we ordered: Little neck clams, which were perfectly cooked with a fantastic sauce Seared foie gras, which had a excellent sauce Duck confit paella - if you love paella, I highly recommend Brussel sprouts side - they were full of flavor and very complex Steak frites, which had the most delightful butter sauce on top Truffles fries - I wish they were more like French fries than potato slices but still enjoyable For dessert we ordered the the tarte of the day because it was gluten free and it was fantastic. Overall we had a wonderful meal. It would've been much more expensive if we didn't bring our own bottle of wine, but I think because of that it makes it a great place to come and have a great meal without overpaying for alcohol.

Yelp
We visited Bistro Ete for dinner. We made a reservation in advance on OpenTable. We arrived about 15 minutes late and they'd given away our table (they not unreasonably thought we were no-shows) but they sat us by the bar within a few minutes. The food and drinks were just terrific. The menu is "coastal french" and has a great selection of small plates. We split a bunch and enjoyed them all: (1) Burrata (flavors blended well and were rich and savory, with a perfect balance of olive oil and salt); (2) fried olives (well done and came with a great sauce); (3) French onion soup (tasty and had a good base); (4) cacio e pepe (good pasta and sauce, and the portobello was an interesting touch); and (5) baked halloumi (also good). I probably would've gone with one less dish for the two of us, but it was all tasty so I don't regret it. For drinks, I got the spicy margarita and loved it--it's actually spicy! (I got a "7/10," and it had a nice kick, but I could've gone higher.) The only downside here was the service. Our server was quite friendly, but the kitchen took a long time to wrap up our dishes, so we spent a lot of time waiting between our "courses." The seating area for us was also nice enough but not particularly special; perhaps the main room is nicer. Overall, I'd give 5 stars for the food and 4 stars for service, but I'd happily come back!

Yelp
Delicious duck appetizer with large portions. Steak frites was cooked absolutely perfect with crispy potatoes. Ice cream mint had a very unique flavor to it. All in all, top quality food and a great experience. The chef and wife are both extremely friendly and speak to all the guests. Would visit again.

Yelp
What a great place! Came here for a birthday dinner with my daughter and husband. Everybody was very nice and you can tell they get a lot of regulars. The food was delicious as was the service. They were very considerate to put us at a table with enough space for the baby. We ordered Escargot, octopus, Latkes and ducks wings and everything was delicious. Also had chocolate tarts and apple Tatum for desert both were delicious. Will absolutely be back.

Yelp
We have been blessed to celebrate my dad's 99th and 100th birthdays at Bistro Été. Food is always great. Staff is attentive. Chef Arie and his wife Liz run a first class restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Attended a birthday party here, the waitress was extremely attentive to a pretty big table. She had everything out in order and time. The food was delicious, and the ambience was very soothing. We had some serious allergies at our table and she made she everything was free of the allergens. Overall a pleasant experience. Would return.

Yelp
Food is consistently delicious. Small, quiet, perfect for people who want to be able to have conversation and relax. Service is excellent. No rush, low key. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Oui Oui! Walking into a quaint farmhouse decor, I knew we'd be in for a great meal. I had this place bookmarked for a while, I was secretly counting the days until I can bring my French-Canadian wife out east for something comforting. Our cheerful waiter explained the menu offerings. He brought us some bread, I know I'm going to be deep into some escargot so the more bread the better. I ordered a Rose for my wife and a glass of red French wine for myself. Wifee? Loves her wine. My wine wasn't good, I was surprised. It kinda threw off my meal. My Escargot? Perfection on a dimpled plate. Cooked perfectly, this is was a rich and decadent dish that I can have every day of my life. The best part, just slowly sopping up the remains. Mmmm mm! I was craving Steak Frites, I wasn't too happy with this dish because my cut was a little fatty. I understand its the restaurant week menu and I was glad to see the house favorite was offered as a menu choice. I was all set to order it but switched to Steak Frites at the last second. My almond cake? Yummy.. Very decadent as well, the whipped cream was molded and looked nice, it was churned too much for my taste. The mouth feel was off. Overall, enjoyed this restaurant and can't wait to return again.

Yelp
I will say, I had no idea what to expect when walking into this restaurant, but I'm so glad I read the review from fellow yelpers and walked into this restaurant. My husband and I typically have a fancy meal to celebrate an anniversary, and since we decided not to really celebrate it this year in the city, we saved our fancy meal for the Hamptons at Bistro Ete. First off, I was super pumped that this place had vegetarian options. It is extremely rare to find a French style restaurant with vegetarian options. This place had many and it was clear that they try to have a variety of options to be able to serve everyone. My husband and I aren't big drinkers, and I appreciated our server not being turned off by this. He was able to get my husband lemonade instead, and I stuck with water for the evening. He put ice with rosemary, orange, and strawberry in it in our water, turning our water into something fun to drink. For our appetizer, my husband and I shared the Roasted Local Brussel Sprouts with Halloumi, Pomegranate Seeds, Tahini, Grape Must. There aren't enough words to tell you how delicious this was. My husband and I were licking the spoon to taste the sauce. It was just beyond delicious. My husband got the vegan paella, which he found to be delicious. I'm not an olive person, but I tried a bit of his and loved the paella. It was perfect with a nice crispy crust on top. I wasn't that hungry, so I ordered two appetizers for my meal, the spaetzle and the mussolini salad. Both were delicious and I had to have my husband try some of the mussolini salad because it was just delicious. They took such simple ingredients and made them so tasty. We were filling pretty full, but I wanted to take one of the desserts to go because they looked so good. We settled on their season tart, which was the blueberry tart that day. We took it to our B&B and ate it that evening, and it was delicious. When we paid our bill, they gave us a sample of their candied orange, so of course we ended up having to buy some of that to take home as well. Bistro Ete is delicious, and it is one of the better meals that my husband and I have had anywhere. If we're ever back in Eastern Long Island, I definitely think we'll be back.

Yelp
The food had definitely exceeded my expectations. We found this piece of gem after multiple unsuccessful searches around the area, because everywhere was booked. We called in, and the super nice staff offered us a table. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful outside lights, and cozy dim lights on the inside. It has a cute outdoor area, so you can seat under trees or under the patio. We chose indoor seating, and was situated at the end of the dining room inside, far away from other tables. I ordered clams and my friend orders a steak. The clams are SOOOO GOOOD. The broth is rich and creamy. The sausage and peas complimented the overall taste. And the steak was so tender, and it was cooked to perfection. Food overall definitely exceeded my expectations. Love the experience, would come back again if I am in the area

Yelp
Once again Chef Arie has outdone himself. I invited my best friend Mylene out to dinner for my birthday. Mylene is a master chef and I also can cook being Roman so we know excellent food when it's prepared right. We dined well and had an amazing 5 star experience. The pan seared fois Gras delectable. A dish I would have savored twice. The individual fondue which my friend had - delicious. The exotic mushrooms and brie in puff pastry again - exquisite. The braised pork ribs, savored with my fingers, that's what a wet napkin is for my dear! The sea bass with truffle sauce special, light cooked to perfection. The osobuco so delicate right off the bone, so moist full of flavor. The espresso ice cream and homemade chef special mint ice cream - heaven. Chef Arie loves fresh herbs as so do I. Everything cooked with love and full of flavor. Thanks Liz and Arie for making my birthday dinner special. You both can chain me in the kitchen and hold me hostage anytime. Thank you to Mylene for assisting me in this sinful dining experience. Maximilian France

Excellent food, great people! Beautiful outdoor dining! Very nice! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely. The service is perfect. The presentation is phenomenal and the food is amazing The prices are really expensive but this is the Hamptons. At least here at Bistro Ete, its worth it to splurge for a special occasion.

Yelp
We came for a belated Valentine's Day dinner after hearing about the restaurant from a friend. Bistro Ete was everything we were hoping for and more--the atmosphere is not at all stuffy yet it still feels chic. The cocktails were absolutely amazing, hand crafted with an attention to detail in their housemade marinated olives and infusions--even their ice cubes are infused with fresh fruit and herbs. We tried a sampling of appetizers including the duck wings (Chef Arie made a believer out of me, I wasn't a fan of duck prior to coming in), Brie and mushroom in puff pastry and fried olives. I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked and paired with fragrant rice and garnished with pomegranate seeds--the perfect pop of tartness. My husband had the short rib pappardelle which was a spectacular treat. It had the perfect amount of richness without being "too much." Overall this was a truly special experience and perfect for a date night. Liz was incredibly welcoming and friendly and Chef Arie is so talented. We cannot want to come back and eat our way through the menu!

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner here, really enjoyed the fois gras and spaetzle, a pasta and the fluke was out of this world. The service was excellent. I am talking a star off for having a dish called Mussolini on the menu. Seeing a fascist's name on it was such a turn off we were going to walk out of the restaurant without ordering. I get that the chef has a cute story or whatever but in our current socio-political environment with neo-Nazism on the rise and people dying in violent attacks, a fascist's name should not be gracing a menu. Extremely tone-deaf. We got food to go for the folks at home and discovered a piece of glass in the fried artichoke so we tossed the rest of the food away. That was a total bummer. The glass was from a thick piece of glassware, very disturbing but no one got hurt, thankfully. Reducing another star for that though.

Yelp
Amazing experience! We had the truffle grilled cheese, ceviche, and short rib parpadelle - everything was super fresh and delicious. Ambiance was great and service was even better. Hostess or owner was super friendly. Plus, they have a special menu for dogs! Can't wait to be back :)

Yelp
One of our faves! Ete' provides some of the best eats and treats on the East End. Small and personal, the atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, making it a great place for a quiet celebration or date night.

Yelp
My new favorite place in the Hamptons! I have been here 5 times this year and it keeps getting better each time. The staff is incredible, very friendly, warm and inviting. The food is incredible. The striped bass with truffle caviar sauce is out of this world good. Always lots of specials and their desert menu is impressive, highly recommend the Saffron Ice cream or the Afogato. They also have a dog menu if you choose to bring you pup, my dog loves coming here and so do we. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you happen to be in the Hamptons and you're craving an amazing meal, I highly recommend Bistro Été. We were here, staying nearby at the White Fences Inn and read the reviews for the Bistro on Yelp. We arrived shortly after 9pm for a late supper. The place was full, but didn't feel over-crowded. It's got a wonderfully warm and comforting atmosphere. The staff was courteous and had us wait a moment while they set up a table for us. My favorite thing about the menu was the ability to "truffelize" any dish for a fee. I'm a crazy truffle fanatic, so I had to do it!! I ordered the Saffron Scallops and had them truffelized, it was seriously one of the best choices I have made in 2017. The servers told me they've never seen someone truffelize that dish before, but I can tell you, it was made for truffelizing!! SOOOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS!!! I cannot wait to go back! This will from now on be my go-to restaurant when in the Hamptons.

Yelp
I really enjoyed our experience at Bistro Ete. The food was a solid B+ and service an A. We loved the service. Jake was out and we got Lindsay who was equally delightful. Our group had some food allergies and strict guidelines with menu. We found it hard for them but everyone else really enjoyed their dishes. I love the atmosphere (notwithstanding the views of the highway!) but the outdoor is very spacious and tables are far apart.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food, presented beautifully with unusual bowls and pretty china, bursting with fresh herbs and flavor! We've eaten twice and both meals were excellent. Last time I enjoyed the sea scallops with a light curry sauce - fantastic! This time I enjoyed the local Peconic Bay scallop appetizers - offered ceviche with pomegranate seeds or another preparation with a lemongrass broth - we couldn't decide so we ordered both apps - love them both! Great bartender too - my daughter was impressed with her spicy margarita with muddled peppers - Chef Arie's homemade margarita mix is available for sale to take home - awesome! We will be back - warm and inviting atmosphere with delicious food - Chef Arie and his fab wife Liz have created a special restaurant.

Yelp
Very rude staff. Reservation was booked for 5:45. Was ten minutes late and was turned away, hung up on and told "you're not my customer."

Yelp
This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the hamptons and a new favorite of mine. The service is excellent and soo friendly! The cocktails and all the dishes are delicious. They are so dog friendly and have a fabulous dog special menu. The ambiance is lovely and sitting outside under the lights was delightful. You must try this restaurant ASAP!!! 10/10

Yelp
As NYC residents we're quite spoiled when it comes to good restaurants and we've been on a quest to find a go-to in the Hamptons since buying a house out here a few months ago with no luck until tonight. We were blown away by Bistro Été- service, food, everything was impeccable and unpretentious! We ordered the octopus, the escargot, and the pan seared foie gras to start and weren't disappointed. The octopus especially was easily some of the best we've ever eaten, cooked perfectly and served with grilled romaine. For main, we went with the steak frites and the goat cheese salad to share and the steak was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of buttery flavor. We opted for the mint chocolate chip ice cream as our dessert and it was incredible! Our server told us she had only been with the restaurant for about a month but I was quite impressed with her knowledge of the menu and the level of service she provided for being so new to the role. Despite being first-timers, by the end of our meal we felt right at home, and Chef Arie and his wife Liz made a point to stop by our table and chat which really made for a special experience. As an added bonus, they have a special dog menu and we left with a nice treat to take home to our pup- I'm especially appreciative of the kitchen staff for making an exception to prepare this after the kitchen technically closed. We're looking forward to coming back again and again and bringing our family for dinner when they're in town. Thank you to Chef Arie, Liz, and the entire Bistro Été team for a lovely evening!

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem. I believe they first opened last summer, in a spot across the highway from their current location. They're now tucked into the shopping center as you pass through Water Mill. They did a great job creating a cute, cozy space in their new room. Service was very attentive. I love their menu! Diverse veggie and protein options drawing on a bunch of different influences, from local to French to Middle Eastern, etc.. For folks looking for a refined but relaxed meal with family, friends, or a certain someone, and want to get away from the craziness of some of the other over-hyped spots around the Hamptons, this should be one of your go-to spots. (It also makes for a good stop if you're making the trip out to East Hampton, Montauk, etc.. Have some wine and food while you're waiting for the traffic to die down.)

Yelp
Definitely a go to when in the Hamptons. Great food and vibes. Added bonus: my dog loves their biscuit!
