The Latest Atlanta Restaurant Openings, May 2025 | Eater Atlanta

"An Asian-fusion small-plates bar that opened ceremonially with a blessing from Buddhist monks and delivers street-food–inspired dishes such as crispy Thai larb meatballs, wonton noodle soup, and paneer teriyaki. The cocktail program is a focal point — inventive cocktails like an Umami Old Fashioned with shiitake mushrooms, a coconut-oil gin signature, and a sticky-rice–inspired Mango Mango — with meticulous in-house preparation of ingredients and house-made bitters underscoring the craft-forward approach." - Henna Bakshi

I recently checked this place out which I didn’t even know existed and let me say I was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering, you are greeted by hosts who then lead you through this curtain into the dim and eclectic interior. The ambiance gave hip, yet very classy. Service was amazing, and our server Tony was very attentive and gave great recommendations. It is clear that the people here are skilled at their crafts because the drink I had was amazing. Mango sticky rice is the drink I got. Somehow they encapsulated every part of this luscious Thai dessert into their drink; I was also very impressed and even complimented the bartender on how the description was so exact down to the order of how you’d taste things. It was perfectly refreshing and not too sweet. The reason I give the food a 4/5 is because while the chicken sandwich was good, it was described to be served on a brioche, which I felt the bread they served it on was nothing more of a simple toast. It was a nice bite, but not for the price tag of $17. Overall, I will definitely be back here again. This is a great spot for a solo night or a date night.

Google
Black Jack Bar Tapas – 10/10 Experience! Had an amazing time here! The customer service was top-notch, and they validate parking at 1010 Midtown, which is super convenient. The cocktails were refreshing and full of flavor, and the food? Absolutely delicious! We had: 🍽️ Mongolian Beef 🍗 Black Jack Chicken Wings 🍚 Hibachi Chicken Fried Rice 🍣 Crispy Rice Tuna The decor, music, and overall vibe were just incredible — the bar itself looks spectacular. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, great drinks, and even better ambiance in Midtown ATL!

Google
PERFECT date night spot or just dinner in general. The venue is breathtaking, the attention to detail is amazing. The music was great and at the perfect volume that we could still have a conversation. Our server, Wade, was very attentive and friendly. The portions are large as well… I couldn’t even finish my salmon. We got the salmon and the chicken/steak hibachi and both were fantastic. I saw people recommending the beef jerky, it wasn’t my favorite, but it was good. We could also got the double fried chicken wings were 3/5. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Google
This will be a new hot spot in Midtown for light bites and tasty cocktails. When you step into the establishment you immediately notice the cool ambiance and thoughtful interior decorations. I loved the large comfortable egg lounge chairs and wished I was sitting at the bar since that was one of the main focal points of the room. They are still in their soft opening phase so I would give the staff some grace and patience while they get settled in. The servers we had were really nice and very familiar with the menu which was wonderful for a new restaurant. We tried a variety of dishes and really enjoyed the beef jerky, enoki tempura, squid ink pasta (spicy!), shrimp in a pot and salmon crudo. The drinks were amazing my favorites were the Spiced Dragon and Buko Gimlet. I enjoyed the convenient location and in the 1010 Plaza which they also validate 2 hours parking. The owners behind 26 Thai brought this new concept so I am sure we will see inspiring Asian fusion concepts as we see in their restaurants. This is a great addition to the Midtown scene and looking forward to my return visit to try the other drinks and tapas!

Blackjack is a feast for the eyes and the stomach. Pictures don't do it justice - you really have to see this place, which incorporates an exhilarating medley of modern Thai design notes into a cocktail bar that preserves the historic elements of the Irish bar that previously occupied the space. Beyond the visual, the place sounds lovely (fun playlist, not too loud) and exudes a warm, chic vibe. I first had the nigiri cocktail, a drink you really can't get anywhere else; it tasted and smelled like ngiri sushi and was served in a Kikoman soy sauce bottle. It was novel and interesting, savory and served with ginger, probably not the kind of thing I'd have round after round of. But fun to try. The sazorac was quite good. The kimchi fried rice (I got it with chicken and steak) was quite good and filling. Yuzu doughnuts rounded out the meal. Pretty unusual (and delightful) for an energetic cocktail bar to also have good food.

I was walking through the streets when I came across Blackjack Bar Tapas. The menu caught my attention, so I decided to step in—and I’m glad I did. I tried the corn cheese croquettes from the small plates menu, and they were absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside and rich inside, perfectly complemented by a flavorful mango sauce. For the main plate, I had the paneer teriyaki, which was tasty and well-balanced with great texture and flavor. Although I didn’t get a chance to try their cocktails this time, the experience was definitely worth it. I’d recommend a visit, and I’ll certainly be going back to explore more of their menu—especially the drinks!

Google
Enjoyed our first time at Blackjack Bar and Tapas tonight! We ordered the crispy rice tuna, corn cheese croquette, kimchi fried rice, & beef jerky which was my favorite! Their celery sour cocktail was recommended which did not disappoint and their banana meringue dessert was delicious! Loved the ambiance and decor of this restaurant which was so beautiful. Food and service were 10/10. Would highly recommend to check this new bar & tapas out and would come back again! 😄

Google
I love this restaurant. The bartenders and waiters are so kind. I’ve been here 3 times, and thoroughly enjoy the service. This time we were served by Hailey and Victoria 💕💕 who were fantastic and attentive! The cocktails are fabulous! I had the mango sticky rice drink and let me tell you, it is FANTASTIC!! The drink curators really did their thing with this one. I’ll be back!!

Yelp
We really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Blackjack. The food was exquisite and the customer service brought the experience to higher level. Cam, our server, was both welcoming and very knowledgeable with the menu. He always smiled and took time to listen to our preferences. He recommended the crispy rice tuna and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Cam for such a great experience. I will definitely recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Wow! What a great date spot! I went in last night to check out Blackjack and left amazed by their food, killer drinks, and excellent service! I seriously encourage you to get the Mango Sticky Rice to drink, and check out the Enoki Tempura! The manager James made the night all the better with his incredible hospitality. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Blackjack is a new Thai & tapas restaurant in Midtown, Atlanta on the corner of 12th St. NE and Crescent Ave. (in the old RiRa space that's been empty since the Pandemic hit). The space is cozy & comfortably lit. They have a full bar, with bar seating and table seating. I had dinner with friends and ordered the chicken katsu which was very flavorful and crunchy, but the serving size was somewhat small. I also had their lychee martini, with is served very fancy. Service suffered slightly, probably due to the learning curve of a brand new opening. We had many people stop by the table but we weren't quite sure who our server was. Price for an entree, 2 martinis, a shared appetizer, plus tax & 15% tip was $87 per person.

Yelp
Cute spot but wayyyy too expensive! We came as a group for a friend dinner and we loved the ambiance and the chairs (SO COMFY) but we thought the food was alright and too expensive. We shared a couple of dishes since the restaurant markets as an Asian tapas spot. My favorites were the crispy rice tuna and calamari; however, I wasn't a fan of the larb meatball, wontons, or tom yum soup. The drinks were also really good! But for how much I paid, I'm not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
While visiting Atlanta, a group of us decided to try this place out. Although the decorations were nice, the ambiance was not the best. There was our 3 group and another couple in the restaurant when we went as it was a weekday. One of the people in our group suffers from bad migraines and the music was EXTREMELY loud, we requested if it was possible to lower or down a little as we could barely hear ourselves talk and she was starting to get a migraine, we didn't see this as a problem as there was no one else really there. The server said yes, and lowered it however, shortly after it went right back up. The server stated that the manger did not want to lower the music. We decided to stay as we had already ordered our food and didn't want to leave the food there. The food was tasty, but could have been better. The favorite tapa was the fried calamari.

Yelp
The food was good highly recommend the salt and pepper shrimp and the tuna rolls! The lychee drink was nice but the cucumber salad drink unless you love sesame please stay clear. The service was a 8/10. However, the ambiance gives date night. Very cute and highly ig worthy.

Yelp
Newer place and I did enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance a lot. The food also had a lot of good qualities and the drinks are very well made and intriguing. I did find it was a bit expensive for what you are getting, we went with another couple and by the end the bill was 400 bucks and one of us were fully satisfied so caution on that

Yelp
Went here last night for tapas and drinks and this spot did not disappoint. Parking in this area sucks! But no fault of the restaurant. Cute place for date night/ girls night in an intimate setting. Very grown and sexy. I had the basil fried rice and it was everything! My friend had the hibachi and he enjoyed it as well. Our waiter was great. Very nice and accommodating. Checked in on us regularly. It was a Monday night and not very busy at all. I would for sure come back!

Yelp
This spot is off Cresent and 10th Avenue in the Tapa Lounge district of West Midtown. Parking is paid in the lot. No validation! Upon entering it's a small waiting area filled with Asian inspired garden setting. The food score from the Health Department was 100 , so kudos!!!! We waited around 30 minutes it was kinda late around 12:30 when we arrived. We were seated behind a red velvet drape that was a medium size dining area with a bar to the left side. And booths along the window. The appetite came speedy but my entree was quite late so I asked to have it boxed up to go. The portions are small so expect tapa style at entree prices. The cocktails are unique. Probably won't be back but I did check it off on my late night bites list.

Yelp
I feel like this place is a gem in the making! What a cool vibe it gives off with the food also speaking for itself. Is it pricey? Sure, but each thing we ate was impressive and the drinks were great too. It doesn't look like much, but the chicken sandwich I included a picture of was SO good. And the kimchi fried rice (not pictured) was also wow. We will be back and I can wait to see what else they come up with for the menu!

Yelp
This was such a good experience! From the time you walk in the décor is so inviting and well done. Sat at the bar and ordered the Shrimp Wonton, Edamame, Grilled Jumbo Cuttlefish, Crispy Thai Larb Meatballs, and Kimchi Fried Rice to eat and Spiced Dragon to drink. Everything was so tasty, but my faves (if I had to choose) were probably the Spiced Dragon cocktail and the Edamame. Overall, there was nothing I did not like during this visit and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I came here on Mother's Day so it wasn't busy but personally I really like that. Parking is very Atlanta, so I don't really expect much - but they do validate if you park at the deck closest to them. This place has tapas but they also serve big dishes. I personally love a tapas way of eating that way you can try everything. I would highly recommend the Enoki Tempura & Crispy Brie ! All the food was good but those two stood out for me. Not pictured was the Beef Jerky, but it was alright - it didn't feel like jerky as much as it was just cooked beef. I would recommend this as a good date night spot or something lowkey with friends !

Yelp
A friend and I spotted this place en route to another bar and decided to pop in. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated immediately. The space was well appointed and decorated. The ambiance was just right. Music playing, but not so loud that you can't hear each other talk. Our server was Jalen and he was very welcoming. He explained that they are a craft cocktail bar. They have a cocktail menu and you can't make changes to the items on that, but if you want something else they can make it for you. I told him that I wanted a drink that was refreshing, but not too sweet. He suggested the mango sticky rice and it was wonderful! We also had the beef jerky as a nibble and it was really good. James, the GM, also stopped by to check on us and ask about our experience which we appreciated. 5 stars for this hidden gem. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Enjoyed the signature Lychee drink. Also loved the wings, calamari, and shrimp wontons. Very nice staff! Will visit again when in town ! Just beautiful place

Yelp
First time here and oh my! This place is gorgeous. Ambiance is very intimate and sexy. Perfect for a girls dinner or date night. The bar also is a great solo spot. The service was good, we did have to ask for our servicer once but other than that it was great. Food was amazing and this is a place I'd go back too.

Yelp
Newly opened tapas bar! We were looking for a late night meal and came to check this spot. Its pretty inside with all the design birdcage and waterfall. Food is good and tasty. Food came out fast and its midnight except for the kimchi fried rice shrimp that took forever. Only con is where to park on a saturday night but there are nearby parking garage.

Yelp
Our server was great!! The design inside was dope and the food and drinks were good too (besides the lobster tarte). My favorites were the rice and calamari
google avatar

Shani H.

Yelp
Came here for the soft opening. I tried the Umami Old Fashioned. I really like savory cocktails and this one was delicious. I also tried the Lobster Tartlet what was just ok. It was served cold which I didnt love. I did really enjoy the ambiance so I might come back to try more items.

Yelp
Had my Birthday cocktail hour here. I knew it was a new establishment, but didn't know what to expect. Oh my, they didn't disappoint! GM James showed us to our area, and Our servers were top tier. My guest was in love with the ambiance and atmosphere. Drinks were tasty. I wish I could've worn the dripping gold head and necklace piece on the wall

Yelp
I had to leave this review while we're still here. The food is absolutely amazing. Parker was our server, and he was great! Now...we ordered quite a bit The blackjack wings...GET THOSE. They're saucy with a slight spice. Enough to make you fall in love but still have your wits about you. Feel me? Fried calamari: Now I've had calamari at QUITE a few places (including the other tapas bar down the street). This is top 3 favorite calamari, and it isn't number 3. Ok?! Crispy Rice Tuna: I asked the person who ordered it and their response was, "delicious...". So there you have it. Lobster Meatballs: these have a lil kick to them and I enjoyed these. Definitely eat them with the same sauce the calamari comes with. Seaweed salad: I was also told that this was DELICIOUS and a great palate cleanser. Each dish takes you to its own world. Kimchi Fried Rice: hands down was some of the best kimchi fried rice we've experienced. Get. Into. It. Celery Sour: Refreshing, well-rounded, palate cleanser and great to have after eating anything spicy. Not liquor forward and beautifully balanced! It's a well crafted cocktail. (Two of these were ordered by one person so.....)

Yelp
The wonderful owner of 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar is opening a new Asian-fusion street food restaurant and bar called Blackjack Bar Tapas April 21st. This restaurant will be focusing on small plates, tapas, and cocktails. There are a plethora of items. My faves were the shrimp wontons, tom yum noodle, chicken hibachi, and the celery sour cocktail. The drink was absolutely amazing and refreshing! I also heard that the wings were delicious as well.

Renee F.

Yelp
The food and service were good. We went on July 18th, and there was no air conditioning which made the experience unenjoyable. To add insult to injury, the hostess validated our parking upon arrival. Twenty days later I received a parking fine for $102. I contacted the restaurant (manager) who offered no resolution. Bring a personal fan and pay your own parking.

Yelp
Blackjack, the newly opened Thai fusion bar and tapas restaurant in Midtown, boasts an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails and delectable dishes designed to complement each other perfectly. The tranquil and moody ambiance created by the stunning interior decor adds to the overall experience. This spot is sure to become Midtown's newest hotspot; get there before the crowds! Drinks: Buko Gimlet ( #1 Favorite) - The refreshing combination of coconut cordial and Genmaicha perfectly complements the distinct pandan flavor, making this drink truly enjoyable. Celery Sour (pineapple gin, lime, celery, vanilla, yogurt) #2 Favorite - The smooth, refreshing taste of the yogurt and celery combination makes this drink incredibly tasty and dangerously addictive. We could easily drink two or three of them. Umami Old Fashion (bourbon, shitake, sesame, sugar, bitter) - This classic cocktail features a unique Asian twist, with the addition of shitake and sesame flavors. If you enjoy an Old Fashioned, you should try this innovative take on the traditional recipe. Roku Tonic (Coffee Gin, Yuzu tonic, lime) -The presentation with the glowing lantern looks fantastic! The drink is delicious too, and the specialized coffee gin and yuzu tonic create a well-balanced flavor. Food: Beef jerky - The jerky was flavorful and moist, and the tangy Thai jaew sauce complemented it perfectly. The crispy Thai basil and pickled vegetables were a refreshing addition. This is one of my favorite dishes on the menu and a must-try when you visit. Thai Spicy shrimp salad - This dish has a strong citric flavor, complemented by kaffir lime leaf and balanced with shallot and cabbage. It pairs well with drinks and makes a great snack for social drinking. Enoki Tempura - The crispy mushroom dish was fantastic, especially with that chili vinaigrette. And the sauce was definitely a winner. Tuna Crispy Rice -The tuna was fresh and the crispy rice was seasoned perfectly. The portion size was good, and the seasoning on the tuna enhanced its flavor without being overpowering. We really loved this dish. Tum Yum Noodle - Seriously, that seafood broth is amazing. Tons of seafood, and it looks great too. Rich, golden, super umami - all those different seafood flavors really come through. And it goes perfectly with the egg noodles. Dessert: The Banana Meringue was phenomenal - the perfect balance of light and airy meringue and banana bread. We finished with that since the peach mousse was sold out, but we'll definitely be back to try it!

Yelp
Looking for a date night that brings great food, amazing drinks and a sexy atmosphere...look no further! We had the Chicken Katsu & The hibachi steak. For cocktails we had the cucumber salad and the celery sour-both incredibly refreshing. It's hard to find a place that has good service, good food and good ambiance. $107 before tip. They validate parking.

Yelp
Upscale, moody, and social atmosphere, perfect for late-night lounging or intimate gatherings. We orderer so many different tapas. Crispy rice tuna, salt and pepper we ordered twice because it was delicious . Corn cheese croquettes. We sat at the bar, had Lychee mimosas. Shannon was our bartender, she was really good. Made our drinks and helped us order our tapas.
google avatar

Chihyo A.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place! We ordered a variety of small plates including enoki tempura, spicy Thai shrimp salad, blackjack wings, crispy brie, and beef jerky -- and every single dish was delicious. We also had the tom yum noodles and the crispy rice tuna, which were both packed with flavor. Our favorites were definitely the beef jerky, crispy rice tuna, and the enoki tempura -- so flavorful and perfectly cooked! And their signature drinks were not only delicious but also beautifully presented with a clean, modern design. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Wow I LOVE this place! Management and staff are so kind! The food was hot and came out fast!

Shona M.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a cold meal after a long wait, with a manager who moonlights as a professional arguer this is the place to be. I waited over 20 minutes for my food after the rest of my table had already finished their meals, only to be served something that was barely warm. When I very politely sent my cold meal back, the manager decided it was the perfect time for a debate instead of an apology. He was rude, defensive, and somehow convinced this was acceptable food service. If you're craving disappointment with a side of attitude, this is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

Yelp
Service was great drinks were great ambiance was great. Just had drinks but the food smelt great!

Yelp
Blackjack Bar and Tapas in Midtown Atlanta is a hidden gem with an unbeatable vibe. The tapas are creative and packed with flavor--perfect for sharing--and the cocktails are expertly crafted. Me favorite was the Buko Gimlet. Great spot for a casual night with friends and a special date, the warm ambiance, friendly staff (talking about you Chris ), and consistently delicious food make it a must-visit spot in the city. Highly recommend the salmon crudo, lobster tarlet and banana meringue!

Jayme P.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The ambiance was great, and the chairs were so comfortable. The cocktails were incredible! I got the lychee drink and the mango sticky rice, both of which were some of the best in the city. We do a lot of fine dining, and this food was fantastic. It seemed pretty simple from the menu, but the flavors were sooo good. I don't know if I liked the lobster tartlet, tuna rice, or wings best. They were truly all amazing. Service was great, as well. We will definitely be back!!
google avatar

Michele G.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at this new tapas bar! Delicious and creative dishes - Tom Yum soup, edamame and enoki tempura. Attentive and friendly service - Blade was fantastic. I gave very vague direction and got a delightful low ABV amaro cocktail. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Our first time visiting on Mother's Day and we were blown away by how accommodating and friendly the staff was (special thank you Blade and Issa!) The food was incredible as were the cocktails, my only regret is not taking photos of each dish we tried to share here. All around amazing presentation and flavor. If you want somewhere family friendly that truly goes above and beyond for their guests - this place is a must try.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for our 6 month anniversary and everything from the atmosphere, music, drinks, and food was a 10/10. HIGHLY recommend the: -Crispy Rice Tuna (we got 2x) -BlackJack Wings -Chicken Hibachi

Crystal A.

Yelp
The crispy rice & tuna is soooo good! The hibachi rice & chicken was also delicious, drinks are lovely and the atmosphere was very good. The staff is always nice so the service is amazing. I can go everyday for the crispy rice and tuna alone. Prices are decent too for food.

Nikki P.

Yelp
I really love the ambiance of this restaurant. the mango sticky rice drink tastes great. my biggest concern were the portion sizes - the food tasted very good but the portion sizes were very very small. despite us ordering "big plates" they were very small portions. for the price you pay here, i would expect larger portions. i would hope the portion sizes changes so i can bring others here. also i'm not sure if the AC is broken but it is quite warm in here during a summer evening. our service was good too. overall it was a good, tasty experience - portion sizes were oddly small and quite expensive

Kathleen K.

Yelp
What a surprise! Intriguing and a very interesting vibe. The food is not familiar, but very creative and yummy! Service was impeccable!

Samantha M.

Yelp
First of all BIG CAM was amazing, the best sever in the building. We had such an amazing time here and had the best food I've ever had in Atlanta. The service was amazing. This was a great way to start our Atlanta trip!!!!!

Yelp
The food and drinks were delicious! Really like the ambience and style of the restaurant. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Atmosphere and overall vibe of the place was amazing! The service was some of the best in Atlanta. Especially the general manager James, made me and my date feel like we were family! Our Server Izza was phenomenal and had great suggestions with the cocktails! She suggested the Celery sour! Best cocktail I have had in Atlanta!

Nat A.

Yelp
Staff was so attentive and friendly! Had some really unique cocktails and the atmosphere is super cool. Really enjoyed this as someone who isnt used to a whole lot of upscale things!
