"What It Is: A meat-forward restaurant in Shoreditch. Perfect for: Date Night, Affordable Mid-Week Dinner, Sunday Roast We couldn’t find much not to love about Blacklock. But then again, we’re meat lovers. It would almost certainly be a different story for a vegetarian, because there’s not a lot for them to eat here. We had a great pile of chops served in a meat juice drenched flat bread and it only cost us £20 each. Well, it would have only cost us £20 each if we hadn’t gone a bit crazy on the £5 cocktails. Verdict: This is not the best meal you’ll ever eat, but it’s fun, and it’s hard to fault the price. "Beef dripping is very much on brand at Blacklock, where the menu reads like Animal Farm. Crisp without and fluffy within, Midas-hued and perfectly seasoned, the chips cooked in it are justifiably famous. Blacklock is especially worth a visit on ‘Butcher Price Monday’, when the likes of Barnsley chops and tomahawks are up for grabs at cost price – the Soho original’s chips are just as good, but given the patchiness of the Square Mile’s spud coverage, this is where Eater’s hanging its hat." - Emma Hughes

I love the food here, the shared chops and pre chop bites meal with 2 sides is great value for 2 people. The chops were succulent and very well cooked. Couple of nice cocktails too. Waiting team were fine. Only disappointed to be kept waiting around at the door because the host was on the phone, and all the other team (bar and floor) moving around us, just left us to wait for him to finish. Doesn’t make for a great start. Overall this is a good value option in a nice subterranean room with accomplished cooking.

Came here for farewell dinner with a friend on Tuesday after work and had a lovely time overall. The pork t-bone was such a deal, didn’t expect to get this amount of meat for only £7.5. The beef ribeye was £11 per 100g and we went for the minimum amount (i.e., 300g) to share between the two of us. Medium was just about right, but we didn’t manage to finish all 300g at the end as we also ordered quite some other dishes. The Mushroom on Toast was phenomenal and absolutely worth giving it a try. The toast perfectly soaked up all the cream and umami flavor from the mushroom. The white chocolate cheesecake was nice and not too sweet. We actually had it before the mains were served as we were simply starving and the mains took quite some time to arrive. So yup, no complaints except the slightly longer wait time for the food.

With the exception of the egg/anchovy bite which wasn’t my kinda flavour combo, the food was cracking. We ordered the ‘All In’ to share where you can try pork chops, lamb chops, and beef. They put flatbread under it and all the juice collect in it - delicious! Service was excellent too - a nice Spanish lady who I didn’t catch the name of.

Went for the All In Sunday Roast at Blacklock City and it was absolutely outstanding. The meat was cooked to perfection, the roast potatoes were crispy and golden, the sauces were delicious, and everything arrived in great time. The place wasn’t overcrowded, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Special shout-out to our server, Lilli, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. Turns out we were both at the Oasis concert the night before... clearly, she has great taste in music and brought a lovely energy to the table. Highly recommended if you're after one of the best roasts in London — I'll definitely be back!

Definitely the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had! We went for lunch and ordered the "All In" roast for two. It was a generous mix of high-quality beef, lamb, and pork, extremely well-prepared and absolutely delicious. Even though we were completely stuffed after the roast, we still found room for the apple crumble. Great customer service. Dermot was our host and he was incredible - friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Beyond my expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back! Bear in mind - you’ll need to book 2-3 months in advance

My friend and I had the Bone in Sirloin, Lamb Chops, Pork Loin, Sweet Potato, Chips and Gravy. For drinks, we had red wine Primitivo Domus (1 litre) and then I had a Larger Top. The food was amazing!! 😋 I absolutely loved the vibe and we had a great evening 😊 Excellent customer service from Piotr, George, Morgan and Georgia. In fact, every member of staff was very friendly 👌🏽 I will definitely recommend this place 👍🏽

Had a fantastic dinner at Blacklock City! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, offering top-notch service from the moment we arrived. They made us feel welcome and well looked after without being overbearing. The food was the real standout. We ordered the ribeye steak and prime rib — both were absolutely phenomenal. You can tell they take real pride in their meat. If you’re a steak lover, this place is a must-visit. Great service, amazing cuts of meat, and an all-around brilliant dining experience. Highly recommended!

Sunday roast is amazing! Definitely make reservations. We got the lamb, beef, pork combo, so delicious! The cheesecake is the best I've had in years, served family style out of a large dish.

This may be the best service I have had in all my recent travels. We had the Sunday roast and it was spectacular. We did the "all in" and it did not disappoint. I would certainly give this location and team an opportunity.

Food was okay. I expected more, however they only gave me one sheet of menu, where no steak was included. At the same time I saw other customers were having steak. Service: there was barely any service. I went there alone. Not sure if that's a problem, but they didn't even offer me a table. I was seated on the side bar which was very uncomfortable. Probably won't come here again due to the bad experience.

I went for a Sunday Roast in Blacklock Shoreditch and I loved it. However, I was a bit disappointed by this branch. I had a Rump Fillet which was just OK and some Barbecued Baby Gems which were actually really great. Service was just average and a bit slow.

I have eaten here twice now, on two different trips to London. I was surprised to see so few reviews in Yelp. This place is amazing! My group ordered "All In" and a few pitchers of Old Fashioned. We were not disappointed either time. The meat is cooked quite well and served on top of some fresh bread strips that soak up all the tasty juices from the meat. Even if you are avoiding carbs, you will fight for that bread under the pile of meat! The appetizers and sides were all well prepared, presented, and most importantly quite tasty! The pitcher of Old Fashioned was likewise well prepared, presented, and served. I highly recommend the pitcher if you have two or more people in your party who like Old Fashion cocktails. You will not be disappointed!

If you're a foodie and love steak, this is the place for you. But Dine before 7:30 in order to get your choice of cut because when the meat runs out, the meat is out. Great cocktails too!

Wear your stretchy pants and come HUNGRY. service is tops, beer is tops, steak is tops. Almost skipped dessert and that would have been a grave mistake. The cheesecake is so good, you could pop in just for dessert and it's a win.

We had a great meal of prime rib and Brussels sprouts. We tried the pigs head on toast on their recommendation and it was delicious! Meat lovers dream come true. And the waitstaff was super helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the experience.
