Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World: A Side-by-Side Guide

The 38 Best Things to Eat at Disneyland

"Somewhere beneath the batter and powdered sugar is a turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese sandwich that’s the unofficial dish of Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. It’ll put you in a catatonic state, but trying it at least once at Blue Bayou or Café Orleans is a Disneyland rite of passage. For vegetarians, there’s a meatless version at Café Orleans made with Brie, Swiss, and mozzarella cheeses, as well as seasonal preserves for a hint of sweetness." - Carlye Wisel

I was able to secure a reservation for 10:50PM which was late but we really wanted to finally have a meal here to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. We got a table right beside the water which was fun. I heard mixed reviews about the food but our meals were fabulous (ribeye and prime rib). Please let Dan know he was a great server! (Aug 4). We hope to be back for our next trip, a little earlier ;).

Google
The whole Disney package experience. Book early. It opens about two months ahead so be watching for it early and book it first part of your day. It's worth the visit. Great food. Great service. If you're expecting a cheap meal, why are you trying to eat inside of Disneyland at a place that books out two months ahead? The food is worth the price. Well cooked and options for everyone. Gluten free menu has plenty of options. We came in to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was everything we could have wanted.

Google
You pay for the atmosphere at Blue Bayou and it delivers! The scenery makes you feel like you’re truly in New Orleans. The food is pricey for the amount and taste but it’s not extremely overpriced especially since it’s in a theme park. The service is prompt … really no complaints. We did walk up and were able to get in after a 20 minute wait ( even with no reservations remaining for the day)

Google
We were a walk up, standby so we did not get a seat by the water, but that’s OK. Without a reservation, I didn’t expect a better seat. They should, however, tell the servers to not have awkward conversations as they’re going in and out of the kitchen right behind that table. Our server was fantastic, and the food was 90% delicious. We were very happy to get in there even with the table next to the kitchen door. Had I known in advance that I was actually going to Disneyland I would’ve made reservations. The food was delicious, however I do wish they could make a little more effort to have gluten-free/allergy friendly food on the menu here. It does say if you make a reservation, you can request dietary changes, but as we were a walk up they could not accommodate us. The soup was fabulous, definitely worth getting. I thought the potatoes were absolutely spectacular and my broccoli was fine. The prime rib was cooked perfectly. My companion’s broccoli was burnt on top and very al dente on the bottom. It’s worth noting that if you have a Disney credit card you don’t get the Disney discount at this restaurant. Would I go again? Absolutely. Our server went above and beyond, and I felt very well taken care of from that aspect. She really had the Disney magic.

Google
This place of course is inside of Disneyland. Reservations are recommended! My Love and I had the Filet Minion and oh my what a treat it was! It was mouth watering delicious and the steak literally melted in your mouth! Although a bit expensive it is a must at least to try it once! The service was excellent, dinner was delicious and of course the company I was with was marvelous. Love the decor and the feel of this restaurant. It was definitely romantic for me! After a wonderful nice meal, it’s time to hit the park C and have some fun!!

Google
The Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants in Disneyland. It is an upscale restaurant with really cool ambiance. I think that is the main reason to eat here. Our sever was also top notch. They made sure we were taken care of. I got the steak but preferred the prime rib. It was a really big portion size.

Google
Haven't been here in years. My guest and I were lucky enough to get seated without a reservation for a party of two. The food was good, but I think the ambiance is what the biggest draw is.

Google
There is nothing better than experiencing this restaurant when visiting Disneyland! Being able to sit in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is amazing, and great food makes it a worthwhile experience! I've come here several times over the years, and it keeps getting better. The choices for dinner change, and taste great every time we come by. I had the Bayou Surf and Turf, which was a ribeye steak, plus clams, mussels, and shrimp! Tasted amazing! Plus you can get alcohol now, for those that are interested. I will always try to eat at this place, getting reservations is hard. But continue to try!

Yelp
My Mom hadn't been in a bit and I was able to get reservations on the 4th of July. We had a great time. Blue Bayou has a pretty great prefix menu with starter, main, and desert. We opted to go for stuff of the menu though. My daughter and son each got the steak with mashed and veg and my Mom and I got the watermelon salad which was light, full of flavor, and filling. We also ordered the bread, I LOVE my carbs but easily some of the best bread I have had! The premixed drinks are ok, the hurricane and peach tea taste more like punch than anything (which I think happens with premixed drinks everywhere) but they have a great, small wine list available. The best part is the amazing staff and the kick ass view! I mean how many times do you get to dine under the stars and with Pirates? :) There is not a bad seat in the house. IT is a sit down restaurant so the prices are a bit higher but not too bad plus you can use your Magic Key for a discount! Only thing better would be if Captain Jack himself sat at the table with me!

Yelp
blue bayou {disneyland} the food was okay for disneyland, they used to give out free bread but they stopped doing that bc ppl threw them onto the boats. we got the pesto pasta that didn't really taste like anything... and the monte crisco and that was just too much bread and all things fried. i don't think i would come back for okay food at disneyland, i rather just go to an actual restaurant lol. there is also the prime rib but it looked chewy af but didn't get to try it bc my friend is greedy lol. service was slow. and ambiance was okay but we got sat at the hallway where all the food comes out yet we had bad service

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and actually am surprised that I haven't left a review. I'm happy to see plant based vegan options on the menu including an option on the kids menu! Yay! My daughter ordered the marinera pasta (sauce on the side), veggies (broccoli), steamed rice and kids lemonade. The baby picked off her place since she's not eating much these days. Hubby and I shared the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad. It was tasty. The cream they used balanced out all the flavors. It was a little sweet by itself but with everything it reminded me of the old school fruit salad with whipped cream but less sweet and more refreshing. We each ordered the pistacho lemon basil pasta and it was delicious! We enjoyed the plant based vegan options! I ordered a mint Julip and hubby ordered a coke. The service was okay. There were a few times we needed something and could not reach our water. They ended up putting butter (non vegan) on the side instead of marinera, we also were waiting a while to order dessert so we could close our tab. Lastly, the ambiance here is so cool. They make the restaurant look like you're dining outside but you're actually viewing part of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. This is another one of those Disney experiences. Yes, it la pricey but so is everything else at Disney.

Yelp
My husband and I were very excited to get a table at the Blue Bayou. The decor is very pretty and the service was fantastic! The food is basically what we expected- not fine dining but elevated from what you would expect at a theme park. We ended up getting almost all the appetizers. I really enjoyed the crab cakes and my husband loved his gumbo. We had a great time but don't really feel the need to visit again.

Yelp
We had dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant located adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride inside of Disneyland Park. It has been over 30 years since I've dined here. I was surprised to find out that some of the servers had been employed here for 30-40 years. Today we ordered filet mignon with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, prime rib and mashed potatoes and sautéed broccolini, and whole grain pasta with sauce for our baby girl. I also had some chicken gumbo to start. The have great brewed black iced tea that they refilled without us asking. Great service with friendly and helpful suggestions. The bayou type atmosphere is always cool and you can hear people screaming on the ride during the first drop. Overall, for the price and experience, it was fantastic. You will need to make reservations a month in advance when reservations open up on the Disney App.

Yelp
Ambiance: the highlight of this place. Moody and iconic Drinks: the hurricane was a decent drink. Alcohol to drink ratio was lacking but it's Disney Food: didn't live up to expectation given price point. Veggies were over salted. Steak and mash potatoes were good. Service: server friendly . Food came out quickly. Overall impression: it's the best restaurant in Disney

Yelp
One of the places we were most excited to check out was Blue Bayou, and we worked hard to snag a reservation. The place was a bit of a letdown, though. First and foremost, we were seated at the very back of the restaurant by the washrooms. This meant we could only kind of see the heads of Pirates of the Caribbean riders. The ambiance was pretty nice, admittedly, but we were disappointed to be so far away from the main attraction. Anyway, for my starter I got the Chicken Gumbo ("Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage and Peppers with Steamed Rice") and it's really good. It's a small portion, but it's packed with flavor and the spice level is right on point. It got the meal off to a tasty start, but I'll admit I was disappointed by our main, the Roasted Chicken ("Andouille Sausage, Shrimp, Creole Rice and Creole Sauce"). The sausage and shrimp was tasty, but the chicken was quite dry. And that creole sauce was fairly tasteless, and resembled a bland, spice-free tomato sauce. (I should also mention I grabbed a Hurricane ("Light and Dark Rums with Passion Fruit and Citrus Juices, garnished with a Luxardo Cherry and an Orange Wheel") and it was disappointingly weak. The booze was poured in with a very light hand, so it really just tasted like a generic fruit drink. I think Blue Bayou might only be worth it if you can grab one of those waterside tables.

Yelp
Came here Jan '25 and then again in June '25, after a 13 year hiatus. This restaurant still has a great ambiance and exceptional service. I was very lucky to find last minute reservations both times, as I know it does get booked out 2 months ahead. In celebration of Disneyland's 70th anniversary, I ordered the anniversary special, $89.99. It's a 3 course meal. I had the heart salad to start. It had heart shaped cucumbers, hearts of palm and a very tasty dressing. It's very good in my opinion. The entree was the winner. The ribeye steak, although thin, was perfectly cooked to a medium. It was topped with a scoop of herb compound butter, which was hellishly salty. The steak was accompanied by 3 giant pieces of shrimp. For the sides it came with a large loaded baked potato and some asparagus. I skipped my dessert. The merengue shell was too hard, like taffy for me to try. Overall, it was probably one of the best meals I've ever had inside the Disneyland park. I would come back just for the dinner next time.

Yelp
The food was good for the theme park. We didn't have reservations so we went in about 10 minutes to opening and got on their waitlist cause the app didn't work for us. The market fish was decent but for me more lemony. The roasted chicken is Cajun style sauce and it was spicy and lovely. I would not get the brown butter cake. It's stale but the ice cream on top was great. The restaurant is a vibe and good for those that want to rest in the park. Cool and calm!

Yelp
Still can't believe I finally got to eat at the blue bayou - a life long dream and now I don't think I can ever be at Disney and not eat here! Last minute planned trip to Disney just a few days in advance. Looked online for reservations randomly in the days prior, the day before continuously checked and was able to finally find an opening for the next day at dinner. Menu switches from lunch to dinner options right at 4pm FYI! Quickly sat for our 4pm reservation and transported to a beautiful backyard getaway with views of the bayou. Service was exceptional and food and drink were brought out swiftly. Drinks: sweet peach tea with rum, glass of Pinot Grigio, and Louisiana lemonade App: Crab cakes and fig prosciutto salad(part of taste of the bayou pre set menu) Dinner: Filet mignon, Prime rib, and Cajun surf and turf(taste of bayou) Dessert: Brown butter banana cake(taste of bayou) Everything was spectacular and I'm still dreaming of the food. Highly recommend the Taste of the Bayou set menu- a lot of food but good to share. The ambiance was perfect and I could sit there all day if I could, we luckily got a table right along the water. A must for all Disney goers and I hope I will get as lucky with reservations in the future. Until next time Disney!

Yelp
The Baseline: For a sit down Dining experience establishment the food flavors must represent the theme of the environment, there must be unique offerings to the restaurant based on the theme, and the experience must be immersive to the theme park experience. Food: The food at Blue Bayou are a Cajun flavor experience. I always get the gumbo here and because of the ambiance it almost makes it taste better. The entree selection that I ordered actually may have had larger portion sizes that I have been used to than in past visits. We got the Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta (huge), Roasted Chicken (substantial), and the Ribeye Steak and Prawns with Western Butter (Wow!). We had Crab cakes and the Chicken gumbo for starters with two Sweet Peach Teas with Rum and we over ordered with the food quantity. Disney has stepped up the Blue Bayou for the 70th celebration. All the food was great and chocolate chip mousse desert with the Space Mountain shaped Pavlova was the amazing finish to the meal. Service: Incredible service at Blue Bayou and the cast members are incredible here. Make sure to always give a "Cast Compliment" in your Disneyland App along with the tip as these cast members deserve it. Ambiance: You are immersed in the French Quarter architecture overlooking the bayou at night with all the fireflies and Pirates of the Caribbean boats going by. You love being at this restaurant for the felling of the experience. Favorite place to dine at Disneyland.

Yelp
Food was delicious!! We had the rosemary bread, roasted chicken with sausage, rice, and shrimp, and the pesto pasta with shrimp. The chicken dish stole the show by far. The chicken was spiced and seasoned beautifully. Every bite exploded. The shrimp was tender and juicy. The rice had chunks of spicy sausage that had a gumbo flavor to it. And there was a spicy tomato sauce that had made you scrape your plate clean. The price is the only part I cannot justify. Each entree was roughly $40, but felt like they should've been some where around $25-30. Yes, the ambiance of the pirates ride made it a cool place to be, but you can find food from all over the park for a better price. Maybe the quality won't match, but you are spending quite a bit for a meal here. I did enjoy myself and found this to be the highlight of my day at Disney. I am a Southern California resident so I've been to the park many times, but this was a first time experience for me.

Yelp
Honestly this place was a blast for dinner, Im so happy we finally got a reservation. We arrived an hour early to ask the staff if we could sit by the water and the the gladly accommodated. My family had the greatest time watching the Pirates boats go by while we waited for our food. The food was all very delicious, but the portion sizes for the price is a bit extreme, we actually left still hungry! Our waiter was super friendly and very attentive. The ambiance of course was absolutely killer, just love the feeling of being outside under the stars, but actually inside watching the pirates ride go by. This is a once in a lifetime experience for sure that I think everyone should do, but maybe for me it's going to be a one time thing. Still an amazing experience.

Yelp
You really can not beat the ambiance and the service, of course if you make a reservation 60 days ahead of time first thing in the morning. The food though, while pretty good on its own, comes in VERY small portions for the amount of money you spend here. You are paying for the location for sure. Now that I have come I probably won't come again, but everyone should attempt to come here once.
google avatar

Yelp
My daughter had her heart set on eating at Blue Bayou, so we made dinner reservations 60 days in advance. If you don't make reservations, they have a limited number of same day walk ups available. We were lucky to be seated by the water so we could easily see the boats from the Pirates of the Caribbean float by. My daughter is in love with the smell of that ride! It took forever for the beer to arrive. Our waitress told us a few times that she'd bring it as soon as it was ready, so at least we knew she hadn't forgotten. I had pretty low expectations of the food, but it was better than I expected. I got the roasted chicken ($40), which came with three shrimps, rice and Creole sauce. The sauce was slightly spicy, so if you're sensitive to spice, get the sauce on the side. The chicken was moist and the shrimps were cooked perfectly. My husband got the fresh fish ($42), sea bass, which he said was slightly oily, but good. Considering the high prices, the dining experience doesn't feel that high end, but it is a nice break from the craziness of the park. We were here for a special occasion but next time I'll probably stick to the more casual restaurants at Disneyland.

Yelp
This place is of high demand and we were unable to add ourselves to the waitlist but upon walk up they put us at on call basis. Being able to accommodate us was nice. This was my first time and because we did not have reservations they put us in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen doorway where we just heard "corner" every 5 seconds. I don't understand why they don't just take down that old tapestry or open it up more than just 5 squares. My group wanted to try the 70th special plate which looked GINORMOUS! They could not even finish their deserts which got passed to me.. and were this weird marshmallow pile over pavlova? Whatever that is? I had the crab cakes and I should have stopped there or just a side salad. They were incredible chunky crab pieces and a hefty portion. I ordered the Cajun chicken as my entree and this thing was massive (too much food and not a place I want to ask for it to go? Do people actually do this?) The chicken has a dry rub on it which makes it very dry overall and then super spicy. I wish there was more Andouille Sausage and Shrimp in the Creole Rice and Creole Sauce, because it just felt really saucy. Our waiter was super funny and matched our energy well. I just don't know if I can justify paying as much as I did for this kind of food... there are so many better creole places that actually taste like your in nawlins.. the flavor just didn't hit especially for the price.... And I wish I understood the portions.. sooooo much food that you don't want to take into the park.

Yelp
Booked our reservations 60 days out and finally was lucky enough to snag one just in time for our visit. After reading the reviews, I was a bit hesitant to go but also understandable that it is an amusement park establishment so I went in with low expectations and wow, was I happy with our experience! We waited about 10 minutes after our check in time to be seated. Our waiter was very attentive and checked in on us regularly, made sure our water was filled, cleared our table after appetizers and main courses to ensure cleanliness. Felt great! We ordered the surf and turf "taste of the bayou" which came with the fig & prosciutto salad, the bone-in ribeye with shrimp, clams, mussels, and potatoes, and a brown butter cake. We also ordered gumbo, roasted chicken, and the pistachio lemon basil pasta. All were delicious minus the chicken which was a little dry. The gumbo was a shocker for me, well seasoned! Pricing was reasonable for Disney standards and comparable to outside restaurants that are on a similar level to Blue Bayou. All in all, if I wanted to wait another 60 days, I'd go back!

Yelp
I know some people have called this place overrated due to the high demand and high price tag.... But I understand the hype. The service is exceptional and the meal I had was excellent.... The only thing I didn't care for was the Prix fixe dessert... which was chocolate mousse with a very stiff meringue. The vegetable hearts salad was amazing and my baby girl loved the hearts of palm and heart shaped cucumbers. The steak was cooked to perfection.... Seasoned well and tender. The restaurant ambiance is dark, but classy as it's connected to the pirates of the Caribbean ride. Our waitress was super attentive and very patient with my littles. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
***Please note: this rating has 5 stars for 1 reason only and that was for our waitress, Nancy. The resturant and food itself I'm giving a 3 star rating.*** We placed reservations via the Disneyland app literally 60 days previously on the dot and was only able to obtain lunch reservations for the day. Check in itself was a breeze but the amount of people also waiting for no-shows or standby was obnoxious and annoying when they got better tables inside than those who made previous reservations. We ordered the Rosemary Bread for an appetizer, it was only okay, the bread was cold and dense. For lunch we shared the New Orleans Special, which came with a Fig & Prosciutto Salad, Surf & Turf Plate and a Banana Cake desert. The salad was okay, the ratio of lettuce to dressing was sad but we were able to order extra dressing on the Side. The surf & turf - please avoid. It's overpriced and comes with 1 shrimp, I'm not kidding. We asked and they confirmed - 1 shrimp only. ANYWAYS, the meal wasn't hot and the butter that was on top of the meat was from the freezer. The banana cake was only okay, also served cold (which was weird). All and all, I'm disappointed in what the Blue Bayou had to offer but I would ultimately come back just for Nancy. She was 10000/10 - fantastic!

Yelp
It was overall a good experience I guess. It's truly all about the ambiance. The food was just ok. We ordered multiple things and shared: Crab cakes- kinda bland and too fishy, fig and prosciutto salad- meh, prime rib- acceptable, filet mignon- flavorful but not as tender as it should've been, gumbo- pretty basic, batch made chunky type soup. Service was not great, and not the 5 star type service that it once was

Yelp
The food was honestly good, i just don't see what the hype was about. Took me months to get in this restaurant and i am okay with never going back. The restaurant is over priced. The decor was pretty and very amazing. The wait staff was friendly, but the food was just okay.

Yelp
This restaurant is going to be a no for me. I don't even know where to start actually. We had a reservation for 4 people on 5/23/25 at 3:20pm. I wanted to treat my daughter for the last day of school and for making honor roll. I thought she'd love the ambiance at this restaurant because we love the smell of pirates water and Pirates is her favorite ride. I never expected to be sat at the water, but it would have been nice to be. We graciously took the table they gave us and dealt with it. We ordered and the food was taking forever. For as expensive as their mediocre food is you would think that they would provide some sort of bread while you wait, but they don't. Our waiter came to tell us our food would be right out and then a minute later a woman walked up to our table to ask us to exit the restaurant because the fire alarm went off. We left and I'd say about 45 minutes later we were told we could line up to be seated again. We were seated at the same table as before but we noticed that before we were evacuated that a table at the water was open. I asked if we could be seated there instead and we were told no. The table next to us asked if they could be seated there and they were told yes. I'm not sure what it was about me that made them discriminate against us or what made the table next to us better to be given that table. It just made me feel really yucky. Our food came instantly and when I took my first bite I already knew it was the same exact dish that they were about to serve us before the alarm went off. Our plates sat there for about 45 minutes and we knew that because our food was cold. We were so hungry that we decided to eat it anyway. The prime rib here is also not worth the price. I wished they had better or more of a selection here. I'll also mention that our waiter was non existent. We didn't get refills. No one asked us how we were doing. We did have a waiter come tell us that whoever our previous waiter was, he was off. I guess that explained the lack of service. Our server was annoyed with my brother when he asked if they took magic key and if he could split the check in half. Why would we not want a discount on our meal? So I spent $110 on food for myself and my daughter and gave a gracious $20 tip for absolutely no reason because the food was horrible, it was cold, we had bare minimum service, and the part that makes me so mad is that Disney didn't bother to comp us anything for the inconvenience, not even a lightning lane. I love the ambiance here, the spot is perfect for a restaurant, I love smelling pirates water even if I'm not sitting at the water, but I can't imagine ever wanting to dine here ever again. It's so expensive and it just isn't worth it. Disney just doesn't care anymore.

Yelp
Dining at Blue Bayou is pure Disney magic. Tucked inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, this hidden gem lets you escape the crowds and step into a glowing Louisiana evening that is complete with flickering lanterns, fireflies, and the calm ripple of a bayou. It's peaceful, immersive, and the perfect way to unwind after a busy park day. We always plan ahead and book our reservation exactly 60 days out...they fill up fast...it's worth every bit of effort. And if you're visiting during the winter holidays, don't miss the prime rib. It's unbelievably tender, packed with flavor, and easily one of the best meals we've had at the resort. Every dish on the menu is crafted with care, but that prime rib is the star. There's a great kids' menu with generous portions and plenty of options for picky eaters, and the drink menu offers a nice selection of both fun mocktails and adult cocktails. Whether you're celebrating something special or just taking a moment to treat yourself, Blue Bayou delivers on atmosphere, service, and flavor. It's a Disneyland must-do for our family, and once you dine here, you'll understand why.

Yelp
As the "restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean", Blue Bayou needs no introduction. It is always full, expensive, and takes quite a bit of time out of your day to visit. But, for special occasions, it really does impress those that want to visit (kids in our case) and is a very unique experience. We made our reservation for four the first day that advance online bookings could be made and got a lunch. Walk ups day of seemed to be a waste of time. Even with a reservation, expect a wait of 15-20mins for check in. The dining area is famous as it's visible from the Pirates ride. For riders, the dining area looks like a background element of passing a southern dinner party. For diners, the area is decorated to look like a plantation style mansion and is dimly lit. It feels quite like eating outside at night. You do see the ride boats pass by in the water regularly but Disney does a good job hiding the ride entrance and drop; it's quite immersive. For a theme park filled with fast and casual options, the food at Blue Bayou is sit down, full service level. Stick with the red meat options as that's where they put most of their effort. The kids roasted chicken was particularly sad looking and the fig salad was interesting but not very memorable. The Mardi Gras special was the best in terms of food, quality, and quantity. Probably could have served 2 with this 3-course meal and the bone-in ribeye was as good as any outside steakhouse. The servers are also all very attentive and "Disney" level. Blue Bayou is not for everyone but for special occasions, it's worth a visit at least once.

Yelp
I did not have a reservation on July 4th but was determined to get in. I stopped by 5x times and finally got a table for my party of 4. It's a very..very busy restaurant and I feel like everyone is on top of each other. Our party was not so lucky as far as seating. We were just seated at the entrance with no view. Our server was great and helped with recommendations, we had 2 of the 70th anniversary plates and also tried the gumbo. The bill came and to be expected everything is priced high. We gave 2 cards to split and had a big mistake. We both got charged close to $300 each on a $300 bill. What through us off was the amounts were different and could not understand what was our server trying todo. Because we had noticed the mistake and had to bring it to the server attention a 10% discount was applied. This is a place nice to try but for the dollar amount, lack of view and error at the end, I won't be back.

Yelp
Finally tried this place after years of attending Disneyland. The wait was only like 10 minutes which was good because we beat the rush. We were seated in the middle which wasn't much of a view of the ride but I was more interested in the food anyway. It's a nice dark setting inside with a candle light on the table. The lady said something about being able to see a shooting star from time to time but I didn't see any so not sure what that was about. The first waiter was pretty cool and even told a joke but the next waiter wasn't very attentive. I noticed they had booze but I decided to get their Southern Lemonade. It was pretty good. There was this nice lady that was on top of filling our drinks when needed. I ordered the Creole Roasted Chicken and my Fiancé got the Monte Cristo. The chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was very delicious. The rice and sausage were very good as well. They put a pork rind right on top and it was nice and crispy. The monte cristo was amazing! The bread was nice and soft and I really liked the jam you dip it in. The salad on the side was really good too. The dressing was tasty. It came with chips but I preferred the salad. It was a really nice experience that I'm glad I finally got to try.

Yelp
The Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants in Disneyland. It is an upscale restaurant with really cool ambiance. I think that is the main reason to eat here. Our sever was also top notch. They made sure we were taken care of. I got the steak but preferred the prime rib. It was a really big portion size.

Yelp
Excellent Rib Eye! Took the wife to Disneyland, her favorite place on earth. She always tries to book lunch or dinner at the Blue Bayou. We had an 11 AM reservation for lunch and I ordered the 70th anniversary meal package, which was a heart of palm, artichoke salad, 14 ounce bone in ribeye with herb butter, western style, and chocolate mousse for dessert. My wife ordered her usual, the Montecristo sandwich. She was a little disappointed when she asked them to remove the ham, which they always did before, but was told they could not do it. However, her sandwich was good, she got it with the potato chips. For my meal, the salad was plentiful, however, the dressing was a little too weak, there was not enough ranch flavor. On to the steak - it was a perfect medium rare, the western herb butter, added to the seasoning and flavor of the steak. I always request extra seasoning on my steaks, as I have discovered that most restaurants don't add enough salt, it is as if they do not want to overdo it! The ribeye it was juicy, it was tender, it was absolutely delicious, one of the best steaks I have had. I love steaks, I eat them a lot, I love beef. I would put this steak up against the best steaks I've had. I was thoroughly impressed. The steak came with three asparagus that were cooked perfectly. They were also large asparagus, not the small skinny ones. It also came with three jumbo sized shrimp, and the shrimp was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was a nice addition to the ribeye, although, it really didn't need it. It also came with a baked potato, it was fluffy. It was creamy, it was loaded with cheese, bacon, bits, and green onions. The entrée was an absolute hit. As for dessert, the moose was covered with a meringue that was hardened. As you broke it up, the meringue would dissolve in your mouth. The moose had a berry flavor to it. It sat on a river of chocolate sauce. It was a good dessert. Great meal and ambiance and the service was fantastic.

Yelp
Dining here has been a family tradition since I was a child. The adults would stand in line and book a table for lunch and us kids would run off to the rides with the promise to be there or suffer going home early. Heaven forbid! I was worried I would not be able to continue the tradition without having booked early but luckily this time, we got there as they opened and were able to get a walk-in table. We were seated after 15 minutes. The ambiance was still the same which we enjoyed but the menu has definitely been updated. The delicious Mint Julip was an amazing start to our meal. I loved the Rosemary and Sea Salt Brioche, the Chicken Gumbo and the Sunchoke & Pistachio Pesto Pasta. My wife really liked her crab cakes. Our waiter was attentive and entertaining. He stopped by our table often with many Disney jokes. Why could Snow White enter the bar but the Dwarves couldn't? ;-)

Yelp
Visited earlier this year for a birthday lunch. Our waiter and service were extremely nice. They were hospitable, and happily gave recommendations from the seasonal menu when we asked. The food was delicious! I had two appetizers to equate to one entree Fig Proscuitto Salad: 5/5 Chicken Gumbo: 4.5/5 Market fish and prime rib were also fantastic. Make sure to grab a reservation through the Disneyland app if you're able to, as they don't accept many walk-ins. Meals are definitely on the pricier side, but the service + ambiance of the place make it worth for a special disney experience!

Yelp
It has been hard getting a reservation for this place, but I finally got one! My family and I usually dine here every once in a while. It's just a unique atmosphere and the kids love that it is right next to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I'm glad that this time our table was next to the water. Our reservation was for 3:45pm which was towards the end of the restaurant's lunch hour, so we were able to order from the dinner menu. Each staff that we have encountered has been friendly and helpful in helping us order. They were also very good at checking up on us and refilling our water/soda. What we ordered: * Lousiana Lemonade..Very refreshing! Usually comes with a glow cube which we didn't get because they ran out. *Hurricaine (Signature Cocktail) ..A little on the sweeter side. Didn't taste much alcohol. I had originally requested a martini, but my waitress noted that it was from a can (hence the "Ready to Drink" section on the menu) and I definitely did not want that. I am happy that she told me though! *Rosemary and Sea Salt Brioche..Great choice before the big meal. It came with a side of butter and jam. *Oscar-style Filet Mignon (my dish)..I ordered this rare, but I already knew it was going to come out medium rare to medium as this has happened every time we dine here. The filet mignon is topped with lump crab on top of béarnaise sauce and asparagus with a side of arugula salad. The dish overall was enjoyable. *Plant-based Sunchoke and Pistachio Pasta (my daughter's dish)..She stated that it was a bit dry. It had flavor, but not enough for her so we asked for a side of Parmesan cheese which helped to enhance the flavor. *Creole Roasted Chicken..comes with rice which makes it fulfilling after a long day at the park. Everything on the dish was okay. We never have room for dessert unfortunately, but overall dining experience was good. I'd say that the experience was better this time around compared to previous experiences. We'll be back again in a year or so.

Yelp
I booked reservations for exactly 11am when they open. We got to the restaurant's entrance by 10:45am and there were a few parties already waiting to be placed on the walk up list. I immediately checked in through the app. However, it is best to check in again with the cast member once they come out with their iPad since a few other parties started checking in for their reservations and were let inside ahead of me. Once I checked in with the cast member, we were instructed to wait inside their waiting room. The servers started calling people's parties by 11am. The hostess was super friendly and our waitress was nice. My husband and I were seated right by the water which was so lovely! I'm really glad we got to finally experience dining here and it honestly exceeded our expectations. The Hurricane cocktail was definitely better than the peach tea with rum, it was sweet and yummy. The chicken gumbo was by far my favorite thing there, I wish they had a larger size as an entree. Very flavorful. The rosemary sea salt brioche was also good, it was a bit dry on the outside but the inside was more moist. The fresh butter certainly helped. I got the Monte cristo. I tried getting it without ham but our waitress said it's already pre-made with ham. It was good and I liked the housemade potato chips. I do wish I got the prime rib instead for a more elevated dish. My husband really enjoyed his sea bass which was the market fish of the day. The restaurant got super busy really quickly. It is one of the hardest places to get reservations for so make sure to get one 60 days in advance if you can as it is a popular dark dining experience that's part of the ride. My husband and I were able to see all the boats passing along the bayou for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The dimmed lighting makes for a romantic atmosphere but also for a magical one. Really enjoyed our time here. It is expensive so this would be a once in a blue moon dining treat for us!

Yelp
Was really on the fence about this place. Got a last minute reservation the day prior to our visit (someone must have cancelled). The food was pretty good, and it was nice to sit down a while, but...for the cost I would not go again. Could maybe be because we were as close to the door as you can get? It didn't feel as special as I was expecting to justify that price, and portions were quite small. I worried we would need additional food after leaving. But the best part was that my son really thought we were outside. The CUP of gumbo soup was excellent but too small, should def be a bowl. I recommend the veg pasta and the rosemary bread. If you're paying all that money to be in Disneyland, just skip this an enjoy the park. Eat somewhere else.

Yelp
Came here for dinner for four and we had a great time. The filet mignon and prime rib were both tasty and cooked to the perfect medium rare. Service was excellent and ambiance can't be beat. Reservations are hard to come by but I was lucky and managed to snag one a month in advance. Prices are definitely higher but for Disney, it's actually pretty reasonable. Recommended for a nice dinner for special occasions!

Yelp
We tried to come to Blue Bayou every time we visit Disneyland. Since this was a very last minute trip, we were not able to get reservations, as they fill up 60 days in advance. We did luck out by checking back often. We canceled reservations to River Belle Terrace as soon as an opening popped up at Blue Bayou Even if you've never eaten here, you've probably seen it when you've been on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. All the seating is indoors, although it's designed to look like an outdoor evening on the patio in New Orleans. This restaurant is waterside and as you sit in the restaurant you see all the boats passing as they enter. It's a very dark place lit with Campbell on the table and paper lanterns overhead. It's lovely. Like Carthay Circle across the way at California Adventure, if you are the parents that let your children run around in restaurants, this may not be the place for you. It's bit on the higher end for Disneyland, but the food is good. Definitely chef inspired. You do have a choice of a few cocktails, although this does not have a full bar. It was cold so I opted for coffee, but my son ordered a hurricane. Not the strongest hurricane we've ever had, but it was good. Hubby and son both got the Creole chicken with rice, andouille sausage, and shrimp. It was delicious! I chose the market fish, which was sea bass--yum! It was jerk seasoned and was served with a spicy rice and a spicy slaw that was to die for. I highly recommend the Blue Bayou, if for no other reason the relaxing peaceful atmosphere in the midst of a bustling loud day. The food is good and you can get a cocktail as well.

Yelp
Another wonderful afternoon lunch with such wonderful and relaxing ambiance. The order: Gumbo - always so rich and lucious with a hint of heat. Monte Cristo - that wonderful crunch with soft and airy bite of bread. Filled with that savory and cheesy center. Kids Prime Rib - perfectly done and son son almost downed it all, so it must have been good. Our server was prompt, polite, and attentive. They were busy, so food took a little longer than usual. My wife's favorite place to eat in Disney, so we'll be back on future trips.

Yelp
When visiting Disneyland we always make a point to have dinner at Blue Bayou. It truly makes our whole day the best experience. The food is delicious and fresh, even down to the brioche bread. It was served warm with unsalted butter and a fruit jam. It was a wonderful appetizer. We also had the market fresh fish, which was Chilean Sea Bass. It was cooked to perfection with the most amazing sauce. My sister had the Plant-based Sunchoke and Pistachio Pesto Pasta dish and she couldn't stop raving about it, she loved it. The service was impeccable, always checked in on us and answered all our menu questions with a smile. The ambiance was perfect! We love the quietness of it with the Pirates of Caribbean floating boats passing by. It was the first time for my sister and nieces and they absolutely loved it! I do miss the menus with the lit pages though. Would be great to bring them back. Till next time, BB!

Yelp
Food was exquisite! Service was great! Server was very helpful and very interactive! The ambiance was exactly how I expected! The only problem was we were overcharged and thankfully I noticed the overcharge by a large amount which unfortunately was an inconvenience. Problem was fixed. But just having to go through that threw off the experience.

Yelp
Absolute wonderful experience last night at Blue Bayou for Sweetheart's Night! We made a reservation for 10pm. We checked in on the mobile app at 9:45. We were called 5 minutes later and sat inside. Waited about another 10 minutes before officially being seated. The Sweethearts Night event had a lovely, complimentary photo opportunity near the water during the Pirates ride. It was great! Our server Matt was assigned to us for the night. They had 2 drinks exclusively for Sweethearts Night: wine and champagne. And a brownie dessert. All other food items were part of the regular menu. We also received complimentary waters. We ordered the roasted chicken with extra chicken instead of shrimp (shellfish allergy) for my husband. Matt was very knowledgeable and accommodating when it came to the allergy. I ordered the filet mignon. I noticed the restaurant wasn't too packed. Which I enjoyed. The ambiance is very nice and classy. We didn't sit close to the water. But we still felt like we were sitting outside, which is nice. The food was delicious. And the portions were perfectly sized. We were worried we would be too full. And we did get full. I spent $101 in total, not including tip. I highly recommend checking out Blue Bayou. Next time I would swing by just to try the chicken gumbo! Thanks Matt for the amazing service!

Yelp
TBH I was frustrated for the table they gave us.(Close to the service door) but after tasting the food and the great service they provided..... my mind was changed in few mins. Totally recommend this place .

Yelp
This a such a cool dining experience! It really feels like you are outside dining on the bayou! I love the lighting and lanterns, it's a nice escape from the actual Disneyland outside lol. If you plan on going to Disneyland I highly recommend you make a reservation, don't miss out on this experience! The service and food was amazing! We got Crab Cakes, Monte Cristo, and Prime Rib, I wish we had room for dessert.

Yelp
My first time getting to try Blue Bayou! We decided to get passes this year and kept looking for reservations. We finally got one for a Monday night. We checked in and were seated a few minutes later. We weren't right by the water but the tables next to those so we could still see the boats pass by. We all wanted to order the prime rib, but after discussing with the waiter, we decided to get 2 prime ribs and 2 filet mignons. We also ordered the crabs cakes as an appetizer. Everything was really good! Such a fun "fine dining" experience in Disneyland. It's pricey, partly due to the atmosphere I'm sure, but the food was also pretty good. I would order both entrees again! The crab cakes are good but a little small, I wouldn't share with more than 4 people. I want to come back and try the gumbo. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
Didn't Live Up to the Hype!!! Finally I was able to get a reservation, after months of waiting, it was a huge disappointment. Food was average but expensive for the portions. I got it, everything is twice as expensive because it's Disneyland. Service is as ok, I've experienced better at BJs. As for the table, only those that are lucky get to experience the side where the water is at. My table was towards the back with no view of the water and tables were extremely close to each other. The table in back of us kept hitting me in the back. Overall, not worth the buck. Ruth Chris prices at half the portion and half the taste.

Yelp
We booked this months in advance as it gets booked up pretty quickly. We came to celebrate our son's 8th birthday since we've never been before. Such a unique experience given that it's attached to the pirates ride, and our seats were in a cool spot that if you looked up you could see every 12 seconds a shooting star. Our server David was phenomenal. He was telling us jokes left and right and was so candid on what he thought about selections. My daughter has a nut allergy so he quickly said ok you are better off getting desserts outside this place like beignets, or the best chocolate chip cookies at harbor galley. We ordered the monte cristo which had to be shared as it can be a heavier side, the gumbo was delish, not too salty and a good kick of spice. The brioche bread was a hit for us, very soft and with the butter and jam , we could have easily ordered more. Crab cakes were a little dry, but I appreciated how much crab came in the two servings. It was fresh and didn't have a lot of fillers. Overall our time here was well worth it, I'm so glad we took the kids to experience their first "fine dining". As they said at the end "it was so worth it"

Yelp
A Disneyland institution. Because of that, four stars as a Disney fan. Probably closer to three if outside Mickey's walls. Been here at least a dozen times over the years. With kids, without kids. It's a good time. Our recent visit was around lunch time and we walked up, no res. Waited about 15 minutes. We got a couple of apps - fig salad, gumbo...and a glass of 805 Blonde. All very good. Nice little snack to carry us over to dinner. Service was on point as always. Pricing is Disney level if y'know what I mean. The mouse is a money maker. Nice ambience. One of the few joints inside the park that sells booze. Always a plus. If you're a Disney person, it's required.

Yelp
This was the second time eating at the Blue Bayou! The first was our 10th anniversary it was great then and you didn't need to have reservations 90 days in advance (2001). This time we were celebrating our oldest graduating from BYU and our youngest turning 21! Food was very good, service was very good could have been just a touch better! We were pleasantly surprised when our bill came and we didn't need to take a second out in the house to pay for it! We had budgeted it in for nearly double! I would recommend this restaurant for any (very special occasion) it's not black tie level but it is still special! The ambiance very cool.

Yelp
After waking up early for days, I finally was able to make reservations to this coveted restaurant inside Disneyland. If your a fan of the Pirate's of the Caribbean ride, this is the place to go. The place is busy and the staff are polite. The menu wasn't extensive, but the food was surprisingly good! The theme is cajun-creole. As people mentioned, the Chicken Gumbo ($11) was really good. The market fish ($42) was also really good and had a bit of a kick to it. I read some reviews to stay away from the prime rib ($55).......but surprisingly it was the best ! The creme brulee tart ($10) wasn't bad too. It didn't have the crusty top, but it was still tasty. It is on the pricier side, but it is Disney and your paying for the ambiance. I was not disappointed and my little 12 year old self inside me was beyond happy! What we did afterwards? Of course, ride the Pirates of the Caribbean ride :)

Yelp
immediately got on the waitlist, which is usually not likely for Disneyland. Had to wait in the lobby for 20 minutes. Nice scenery, and you have a smell of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The food portions were OK. Slightly overpriced for the taste of it. Kind of mediocre for Disneyland taste but nonetheless still a decent steak. The upside down cake was a little dry, but the ice cream complemented it to make it better. Not sure if I would come back, but still an experience at Disneyland.

Yelp
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS GOING TO DISNEY I FINALLY GOT TO DINE AT BLUE BAYOU. I was going to visit with my friends during my spring break and the night before I kept refreshing and checking the dining reservations available and LO AND BEHOLD, 3 spots open for dinner reservation and I booked immediately through the app. Just know that if you don't cancel before and no show, you'll be charged $10 per person (as per all dining reservations made). Though you do get a 15 minute grace period I believe. You check in with the host, take a seat in their lobby waiting area, and then you'll be called to be seated. Make sure to look up at the sky since there's a shooting star (very small and very quick moving) around every 12 seconds. We were seated a bit closer towards the back and didn't really see the Pirates ride goers, but I still loved the atmosphere. Service here was super welcoming, friendly, and attentive, even by Disney standards. For our party, since I was so excited about finally eating here, got the: 1) Chicken Gumbo: -Love the gumbo that they have at Disney. If you'd give me a vat, I'd eat it all. This was just a small bowl though. -Comes with Tasso ham, Andouille sausage, peppers, and steamed rice. Super flavorful and hearty. 2) A Taste of Bayou: -This is a 3 course pre-fixe menu that has an appetizer, entree, and dessert. -It includes the fig and prosciutto salad (baby greens, Manchego cheese, candied pistachios topped with an herbed vinaigrette), Cajun Surf & Turf (bone-in ribeye with Cajun butter, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn), and the Brown Butter Banana Cake (the cake is soaked in bananas foster sauce, topped with candied walnuts and comes ala mode with a scoop of vanilla ice cream). -The salad was solid with a great mix of textures and tastes from slightly sour, to sweet, and earthy. -Very filling meal with enough seafood that my friend and I were able to share between us. The ribeye is super tender and juicy and the Cajun butter is oh so delicious. Everyone is also a huge fan of the potatoes too, the small roasted kind. Everything was perfect for this entree. -The Brown Butter Banana cake was a huge favorite of the table and it was really hard to split this amongst everyone since it was so good. You can never go wrong with Bananas foster with a cool, creamy vanilla ice cream. Perfect amount of sweetness too. 3) Prime Rib: - This comes with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and some horseradish cream and the prime rib is slathered in peppercorn demi-glace (but it's not Sichuan numbing level). -Another solid entree dish. Prime rib was also tender with some charred fatty bits to it too. Loved all the sauce and cream that came with this dish. Mashed potatoes had nice herb seasoning to it and the veggies were good too. -Also very filling as well. 4) Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta: -We paid a bit extra to get this with chicken, which was just standard white chicken breast meat. Not bad, but adds a bit of protein to this dish. -This was something we chose so we can have a little variety to our order and my friend doesn't eat seafood, so this was a good option. - It's pasta with leeks, spinach, cherry tomatoes, generously covered with pistachio-basil pesto. All the pasta had a nice texture to it and soaked in the pesto quite well. Not bad, but I don't think it's something I'd get again. 5) Creme Brulee Tart: -It's a vanilla bean creme brulee in a tart shell with some berries on top. -Love a good creme brulee, especially the torched sugar layer on top. It's like any other creme brulee you'd order at a restaurant. Not bad but was clearly outshined by the banana cake. 6) Petite Sundae: -It's just a standard scoop of vanilla ice cream, 2 Oreo cookies on top to make a hidden Mickey, whipped cream, and a side of chocolate sauce. Simple for those who'd like it. 7) Louisiana Lemonade: -I don't think you can get this anywhere else in the parks, so I knew I just had to get it. -It's lemonade, Sprite, mango, and raspberry. It's unlimited refills and it's very refreshing. Perfect mixture of sweet and tart. I'd definitely get this again. Of course we also got some mint julep as it's a must when you're at New Orleans Square. Refills come with the order as well, of course! The bathrooms smell super nice and are clean and look quite fancy, matching the theme here. They also take Apple Pay and Disney Magic Key discounts, so everything here wasn't too bad for our group. I can't say I'm the most refined gourmand, but I love eating and I really enjoyed the meal that we had here. Definitely much higher quality in terms of culinary preparation and flavors than anything else you can find, I feel (still need to give Carthay Circle a shot too). Can't wait for the next time I'll be able to dine here, fingers crossed it's for a seasonal menu (Halloween, Christmas, etc.)
