"The team behind Pok Pok Po has opened their newest restaurant, Bol. The casual Indian spot in Midtown serves customizable (you guessed it) bowls. Pick from protein toppings like lamb keema, beef, or “happy chicken” and your choice of spiced avocado or their signature hummus." - brooke viggiano, gianni greene, chelsea thomas

Houston Restaurant Openings to Know Right Now, February 2025 | Eater Houston

"From chef Jassi Bindra and the Kahani Social Group, this fast-casual concept focuses on bowls (also offering wraps and salads). Start with a base such as happy chicken, paneer, lamb keema, beef, or cumin potatoes and add pickled onion, spiced avocado, roasted corn kernels, hummus, and more — all from halal-certified sources. The simple interior is paired with moody neon lighting that gives “clubby” more than “combination Taco Bell/KFC” vibes." - Brittany Britto Garley

Nayeli was great! She was very helpful and patient to me (a first timer). The food was delicious with vibrant Indian flavors. It’s a “chipotle” and “cava” style place with different flavors. Definitely check them out!!

We went to Bol, and it was fantastic! Brandon was kind and super helpful! The beef, kidney beans and masala rice were sooooo good! Highly recommend. 13/10

This place really surprised me. When they say that, it is an Indian chipotle. They’re really mean it. I tried the vegetarian bowl with paneer as my protein, and it was outstanding. I tried the masala rice and then got all the toppings on it. A bit of everything lentil kidney beans, garbanzo, and then top that off with all the fixings and toppings that they have. The sauces are outstanding and I even added a side of papad with what I got. This bowl is definitely can be shared by two people easily, and if it’s one person, getting it. It will make up for two meals. Without a doubt. I also loved the special touch with The dried green chili thingies that they put on the top. Oh my gosh, those were outstanding and super super super hot. So caution. If you’re trying Those. Our server was Sandy and The. A huge shout out to her as she was super patient. This restaurant is also connected to the one next-door, which is called the Indian Chick-fil-A and she was managing boat and holding the fort down like a boss. She made the entire experience, even more outstanding with her recommendations and outstanding customer service. I think I have found a new go to in the Houston Downtown area.

I got Uber eats from them tonight and it was literally so good. I’ve never been here in person, but I will try to go now because the food was literally delicious. This Samosa sauce is perfect and the meat was so tender.

Picked up a bowl here around 2:30 PM. The place was empty, but the guy at the counter was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was just terrible. I took it to-go and ended up throwing more than half of it away. No flavor, no freshness, nothing authentic — it honestly tasted like bland, frozen food. I had to go get something else to eat because it was that bad. Price was around $11, which would’ve been fine if the food was decent — but even that felt like a waste. Don’t fall for the social media hype. The food is nasty, plain and simple. Houston has way better options.

I ordered through Lunchdrop and started already eating before realizing to post a review. The taste was okay but I was disappointed with how skimpy they were on the toppings. They forgot the lentils, barely added any yogurt sauce or veggies, and it ended up being mostly just rice.
