San Francisco’s Most Satisfying Tamales | Eater SF

"Emmanuel Galvan, founder and owner of this testament to the power of corn, has been selling tamales for the holidays since 2020 through his Berkeley-based heirloom masa project. Most of the year, tamale enthusiasts can catch his tent every Thursday between March and November at the Mission Community Market, but this winter, the tamales will be at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market for a few Thursdays and Saturdays, too, leading up to Christmas. Galvan also has additional pickups from his kitchen in Berkeley and Rancho Gordo in Napa, so follow along on Instagram for the full details." - Eater Staff

Google
I’ve been following Bolita since its early days and love it as much as ever. It’s so incredible how much more flavor their masa, tortillas, and masa-based foods have compared to any other masa I’ve tried. It’s truly refreshing to see people so dedicated to their craft and to elevating the importance of heritage, non-industrialized grains. Definitely look for their pop-ups — their prepared dishes are out of this world!

Yelp
Yummy. Had them twice in one week first at the Gilman Fair then first Friday in Gilman district, same location. Had the kids quesadillas both times with chips and salsa and pork tacos. Everything was fresh and tasty. Had to wait a little bit for your food because of the crowds but worth the wait. They have about five or so items on the menu and by the end of the night at first Friday they were running out of items. Popular place. Looking forward to the next time they're back.

Yelp
So delicious! Everything is always fresh, good quality and creative. It is pricey but that's how it goes with a quality pop up.
