24 Excellent Houston Pizzerias

"Team red sauce or white? This River Oaks pizzeria offers options for fans of both bianco or rosse pies. The white sauce-topped shrimp scampi boasts Gulf shrimp with mozzarella and romano cheeses and thinly sliced lemons, while the red-sauced margherita is fragrant with fresh tomatoes and basil. Either choice is a win." - Brittany Britto Garley, Kayla Stewart

18 Essential Upper Kirby Restaurants

"Bollo is known for its variety of Neapolitan-style pizzas prepared using either a red or creamy white sauce for a base. Choose from pies like the shrimp scampi, the pancetta with goat cheese, or the pesto pollo — all baked at 800 degrees in a wood-fired oven, resulting in a crisp golden crust with a doughy bite. Not a pizza person? Bollo has lots of alternatives, including a double-cut pork chop marsala, chicken parmesan, and a baked pepperoni calzone." - Megha McSwain

Reservation were for 745 pm showed up about 10 minutes early. We were seated attended to and served our appetizers by 8pm. Gustavo was great checking in intermittently and the food was amazing. My favorites of the night the Arugula salad. I could eat that errrrrday! (Slow hand clapping)

Google
Such a beautiful place with plenty of seating inside and outside. We sat down quickly for lunch and everyone was attentive. Our orders went smoothly and came out quickly. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, one of my favorite pizzas by far! I definitely want to be back for brunch as well.

Google
Great food, service, and atmosphere. The pizza had great sauce, cheese and crust. Kale salad was great. Hummus was okay. Calamari was incredible! Be careful when adding a tip to the bill. It seems the tip is already added at a default 20%. The waiter never told us and we tipped another 20% on top. We ended up noticing the next day and asking for a refund on the extra 20%.

I had an excellent dining experience at Bollo Woodfired Pizza on West Alabama Street. I came with my friends after our club meeting near the closing time. The wait staff was very attentive. Food was good. I would be back.

I’ve been going to Bollo for years now and it never disappoints. My girlfriends and I celebrated a birthday last night and it was amazing. Our waiter Alejandro was attentive and made the night exceptional. Thank you Bollo for delicious food and a memorable night. Special thank you to Ernesto! You guys are the best pizza place in Houston!!

Google
Came for my bday celebration.Food wasn't what I expected, place always seems to be busy, that's why I decided to eat in here. Appetizers were ok, same stuff you will get anywhere. Fried calamari overcooked and with extra crumbles, mozzarella sticks, taste frozen, like the oil was too old. Buffalo mozzarella it was ok, the Crostinis were soggy and blah... Piza ok, Calzone ok. Pasta Carbonara too much cream. No fish on the menu! Bummer 😕 marinara, blah... The servers were every ten minutes refilling water, that was good, professionals and attentive.

Google
We tried this place while in Houston. The lobster ravioli was the best I've ever had. The lemon drop was good and strong. The server was nice and friendly. I would definitely go back!

Google
Wow. Was not expecting it to be this good but I’m thrilled it was. Gustav was fantastic and really took care of us.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! Their food is fabulous. You must try their woodfired pizza. It's the best I've eaten. Everything on the menu is so good. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The one place that I will eat 3 days in a row without hesitation. Literally just thinking of their cheese makes my mouth water. There is no wrong pizza to get here. simple.as.that.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the Cotto Funghi pizza -- the ingredients were very balanced and the flavor was delicious. The crust was quite tasty (crispy on the outside but soft on the inside) so nothing was discarded. The apps were great as well -- we tried the marinated beets and the beef meatballs -- yum. Finally, the limoncello cake is a must for dessert -- so good! The service was really friendly and efficient. They are quite child-friendly and offer high chairs. Ample parking in the lot.

Yelp
The table service was great. They were child friendly with a nice child's menu. Our waiter kept our drinks filled as soon as they were empty. I mentioned to my wife that the pasta appeared artisan, she then confirmed that they were. The atmosphere was very nice (almost too nice for kids lol). The prices are good and very fair for the quality. We will be back soon. My only critique is that the tip guide should be based on the subtotal and not the taxed total.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing here!! By far probably one of the best in Houston. I'll have to dine in sometime, I usually order it to-go or for delivery and even though, the food arrives fresh and with impeccable taste.

Yelp
Went here with my friends for dinner and drinks. Parking is convenient the lot is a nice size never have an issue finding a spot. Love their $7 Bellini and margaritas on the rocks you even have an option to add a $2 floater to the top. I got to try my friends shrimp scampi pizza, which was actually really good. It did have a little taste of lemon zest to it. I had the shrimp Alfredo, which was good. I do feel like the portion was a little small and I did have to add in some salt to it, but the consistency of the sauce was really good. We had a great wait he took very good care of us. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Ah, Houston in early spring - the air is cleaner, low humidity levels, and pleasant to cool temperatures so dining outside is a pleasure! My wife and I met my 2 nieces who live here and one of them suggested pizza so we were in the mood for a great-tasting pizza, so we met here. Their Margherita pizza was a delicious bite after bite. The shrimp Scampi was even more delicious! There was goodness in every bite. Service was outstanding! Our server was very attentive and our water glasses never went empty. I like to drink beer with pizza so I drank beer. I would have preferred Dos Equis or Heineken but they did not sell them. Just a little hiccup. They had plenty of domestic and local brand names but I'm not a fan of craft beer. Overall, this place is a hit! We will come back here next time we are in Houston and hungry for more delicious woodfired pizza!

Yelp
Parking: Plenty of parking. Ambience: decent There was a decent rush considering it was Monday. The food smelled good so we were glad to that we decided to be at this place. We ordered pasta, pizza, fries and Tiramisu. Pasta was okay but the pizza was delicious. Loved every bit of the pizza. The star of the show was tiramisu. One of best in HTown. Overall it was a good experience. Will surely visit again.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and pasta. I always visit this place when I'm visiting Houston. Their wood fire pizza is perfect! The sauce, the crust, the toppings are everything you'll find in a really good pizza.

Yelp
Always good. Our favorites are: lobster ravioli, arugula salad with shrimp. For pizza margarita is good and carne trio.

Yelp
I've had a favorite Napoletana pizza place in Houston for years, and I was shocked for how much I enjoyed this pizza. I can't say it took the crown, but 100% in the top 3 for me. I came on a weekday during lunch, there was a decent crowd there, the staff were friendly but my waiter honestly didn't seem super knowledgeable about the menu- I wasn't quizzing him or anything but just it was hard to get recommendations. I also struggled for a bit since I saw they use Fabio's as their pasta supplier, which I absolutely adore, but I had to try the pizza! Anyways I ended up getting the Carne trio - it was a bit messy but a flavor explosion! A "meat lovers" style pizza is not what I'd normally get but I thought it was just expertly done, thin cuts of the meats to keep them from being gummy, very fresh, fantastic crust. Every single component just impeccable! I wish I had gotten maybe half a pizza and a salad, the full pizza was an aggressive amount of food but I couldn't take it to go.. and I love food, so I made the sacrifice to feel tired afterwards, but it was worth it. Solid 5/5 for me, I look forward to trying other pizza's from the menu, as well as the pasta sometime soon!

Yelp
I was visiting a dear friend in Katy, TX, and she brought us to this cute restaurant in Houston. The server Carlos was amazing, very friendly, and informative on the different kinds of pizza served there. We started off with the Lemonchino Drop. What a yummy cocktail. We then each ordered individual pizza, my friends, each had Cotto funghi, and I had the Margherita. They were all very tasty, the right size so delicious. Although they were individual pizzas, we all took some back to the hotel. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Houston, Texas.

Yelp
First time visit!!!! Good parking out front. Quick service, kind staff, and clean! Everything tasted so fresh and I loved being able to build my own! There are SO many toppings to choose from and you can choose your sauce!! I'm not big on pizza but this dough was so light and crunchy from the oven! I will for sure be coming more often to bollo!!! They have many options aside from pizza so please check the menu!! The garlic fries and truffle aioli were delicious and I'm a fry girlllll so trust me on that. I believe they used to have some gluten free dough options! Be sure to ask that they still have that I also was so full I had leftover slices and was able to eat the pizza the next day and it heated up perfect in the oven!

Yelp
Hmm.... a great place for special lunch sandwiches. Woodfired pizza is one of fav's and this place was really close to Jeni ice cream where we had the Yelp event going on. Its a really well maintained restaurant cum bar. Anyone would love to watch their favorite team on Tv while gulping down bottles of bear and cheering them together. We ordered the Pesto Polo and the garlic fries. The Pesto Pollo was customized to include jalapeños and spinach which excluding the meat part. I would think since they removed the meat, they should not have charged additionally for atleast for 1 topping but well...its ok The garlic fries, mmm ... it came with truffle aiolli and ketchup and it was super yummy... Service was pretty fast and the guy was very courteous. The idea was to lunch here and go to Jeni's for the dessert. Worked almost perfectly except that when I saw the dessert menu at bollo I was half regretting the decision.. ha ha Don't fall for the $5 mimosa special, its only available on the menu, ideally it should not even be on the table but one side of the menu is still valid so they have continued using that menu card. Their outdoor seating is so tastefully done, all ur missing is a lake beside it! Food is good, staff friendly, great variety to choose from, I would come here again...

Yelp
I recently tried Bollo Pizza, and I have to say, it's a hidden gem! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure my dining experience was top-notch. Now, onto the pizza - WOW! The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside yet delightfully soft on the inside. Margarita was awesome. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends. And to top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes .

Yelp
Usually do take out. But tonight had a friend in town so decided to dine in. What an absolute wonderful time! Carlos was our server, fantastic service. Drinks were spot on! Food was delicious. Loved everything. But my all time favorite are those beets! Oh lord were they good. The restaurant itself was cozy and very inviting. Guess I need to do less "take out" and do more dining in!

Yelp
Bollo Woodfired Pizza is undeniably a popular spot in Montrose, known for its mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas, tantalizing salads, and delectable Italian dishes. Nestled in the Montrose district, the restaurant boasts a cozy and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a satisfying lunch experience. We recently had lunch here with my family after a long day of museum hopping. Let's talk about the star of the show--the pizza. Bollo takes pride in crafting their pizzas with fresh, top-notch ingredients that are cooked to perfection in their wood-fired oven. The thin and crispy crust serves as a delightful canvas for the generous and flavorful toppings. I couldn't resist trying their Margherita pizza, adorned with fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fragrant basil. Each bite of pizza was perfectly soft, crunchy and expertly prepared, leaving me craving more. The caprese salad at Bollo is no slouch either. No all caprese salads are the same and this one was a simple yet delightful dish that showcases the vibrant freshness of its ingredients. From the vine-ripened and juicy tomatoes to the creamy and luscious mozzarella, every component is perfectly balanced. The addition of fragrant basil ties it all together, creating a salad that is both refreshing and satisfying. Yummy! Now, let's indulge in some dessert--the tiramisu. Bollo's rendition of this classic Italian treat is truly a decadent delight. The ladyfingers soaked in espresso impart a robust coffee flavor, while the generous dollop of whipped cream adds a luscious creaminess. Each bite of the tiramisu was an indulgence, providing a rich and satisfying conclusion to my meal. Not sure it was freshly made but we all agreed it tasted like it. While the food at Bollo Woodfired Pizza is undeniably delicious, I must note that the service, while friendly, fell short of exceptional. Our server could benefit from some improvements to elevate the overall dining experience. Meaning he lacked friendliness and patience when explaining the menu. However, this minor setback does not overshadow the culinary delights that await you at Bollo. In conclusion, Bollo Woodfired Pizza is a great choice for pizza enthusiasts in Houston. Their pizzas are crafted with care, the caprese salad is a refreshing delight, and the tiramisu provides a sweet finale. Though the service could use some improvement, the food was enjoyable, and the inviting interior adds to the charm of your experience.

Yelp
Recently, we were here and did not eat pizza or pasta. It was still exceptionally good. How lazy, but other 4-5 star reviewers sum it all up, in their own way. This is one of our constants, for pizza, or their assortment of appetizers, in lieu of a full meal.

Yelp
Came here on a weeknight and was seated immediately! Staff was friendly and quick with service. Order pizza, salad, and fries with some friends. Had beers and cocktails as well. A little on the pricier side but everything was so fresh and delicious. The Caesar salad was nothing special but I couldn't stop eating the fries. The pizza was perfect and the crust was delicious.

Yelp
Overall ending my night frustrated. My dinner options were to either get a Costco hotdog or try out Bollo, and I chose wrong. As advertised they have deep roots in authentic Italian heritage pizza blah blah blah. Everyone says this. They leaned into it hard though so I had some expectations. I ordered the Margherita and the Diavolo along with calamari because I love those little suckers from everywhere. When I arrived to pick up my food the restaurant was classic Italian diner, had a simple rustic vibe with the standard Italian fare decor, and it was packed. Not an intimate pace at all. Immediately at the door the hostess met me with a blank stare gazing at me through her scowl. Not a word said for a moment before I asked where I could go to pickup and online order. Ok, whatever, I have bad days too. Kind of the same happened at checkout though which was odd, but whatever, they were busy so I guess you don't come for the staff. Finally when the food came out I noticed the sizes of the pizzas. Dang... what a ripoff just from first sight. I've traveled from Milan to Amalfi stopping off at every town and city along the way trying as many pizzas as I could. 1. They were never this small, and 2. No one on their right mind should charge $17 for either of those pizzas regardless of the size. This is scam. To be fair the calamari portion was very generous. I wish it wasn't. The calamari to start was plentiful, served with a tzatziki and lemon on the side. The tzatziki was literally just yogurt with nothing else to it. It was gross. The calamari was greasy and really had no flavor. This is the first time I've ever been so bored of eating a food (let alone my favorite food) that I just threw the rest away. The pizzas, beside their shameful size and insane costs, were actually pretty ok. Cooked really well with the wood fire oven it did have that legit taste to it. They were slapped together with no care, but cooked well. For some reason there were like, 4 fat slices of tomato on the margherita and only half got basil. The diavolo was nice, but god... they upped the spice way too much for it. Still edible, but not good. All you taste is the spice which was a bummer. Overall, go get a Costco hotdog. You'll be happier with your purchase. 2/10 would not get again. If you must get pizza and wish to pay a fortune, I'd go to Gypsy Poet or save up to go to Italy and get it for real and not be scammed.

Yelp
We had a party of 5 and they added 18% gratuity. The server didn't point out the added gratuity and there weren't any postings in the restaurant that gratuity would automatically be added to the bill. Standard in the industry is parties of 6 or more to automatically add the gratuity. Anything different customers should be notified. We were managing our crazy kids when we were making the payment so we didn't noticed and tipped on top of the bill and the tip. So I'll own up to some responsibility of not looking at the bill close enough, but I feel scammed. Bollo should change its auto-grat policy or at least post notifications. Great pizza and loved the vegan pizza. Service was OK, not good enough for a 40% tip. I want to go back but only if they change.

Yelp
It wasn't my favorite place, but the server and atmosphere was nice. Went there for a quick girls' wine & chat with my friend. I want to try the Heights location next.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to try this place out after seeing it on TikTok and TikTok did not disappoint! I came here around 5 pm and after a 1 hour drive, I came starving and ready to eat! There is plenty of parking provided in front of the restaurant. It wasn't too busy and the host immediately sat us outside. The patio seating isn't huge but is filled with plenty of seating. The weather, the lights, everything was definitely a vibe outside! The service was amazing, providing by a gentleman whom I didn't get the name of. We had 3 dishes to taste and it was all super delicious! The garlic bread was what I saw on TikTok and the portion was huge. When it first got brought out, the smell was amaaaaazingggg. We also ordered the Margarita pizza and the cheese on the pizza was delicious. I had also ordered a side of fresh jalapeños, which added the perfect kick on the pizza. My friend and I had shared just that appetizer and entree alone and we were stuffed! So this place definitely knows their proportion! And to finish off the meal, the cheesecake provided by the house was super yummy! Overall, I would have to give Bollo a 5/5 and would definitely recommend anyone in the area to stop by because I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Another great visit to Bollo. It has been a while since I have visited, and nothing has changed. It is still amazing. The entire staff is always kind. This visit - our server, Salvador, was very sweet. I opted for the Cotto Funghi (bianco) pizza (fresh mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, capers, crimini mushrooms, oregano, truffle oil). Wow! So good! Light, not heavy. Amazing! Ernesto, the manager, is a gem. Ernesto is ALWAYS there. My friends jokingly mentioned that they recently got engaged and asked if they could have the reception at Bollo with mariachis. Ernesto did not hesitate to expalin the options, space, menu, etc. Sooooo, there might be a Bollo wedding! Haha! Please try Bollo!

Yelp
In regards to the comments from Adina, the business manager, if someone was moving from table to table at the restaurant, that was not us. We were there around lunch time, but there was no lunch rush. There were only a few other tables occupied when we were there. Even if the restaurant had been busy as suggested, that wouldn't justify mediocre food. I hope the restaurant makes the improvements needed to return it to its former glory.

Zhang A.

Yelp
I visited this place a few times, especially when I lived near river oaks. Today I miss its food so I called a delivery. But this is what I got. Bug eggs on the basil, it was so clear and so disgusting. Another pizza was okay, but very salty.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was just ok..Probably won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The restaurant inside was nice/clean, the service was fabulous and our drinks were always full, BUT the food was mediocre at best (especially for the price). We ordered calamari and it was very rubbery and not very flavorful, so for $17 that was pretty disappointing. We didn't even put a dent into it because it was so bad. We got two pizzas and they were okay, nothing to rave about.. but for $20+ each, I absolutely wouldn't recommend coming here, you can get better pizza down the road. Our meal was about $75 after tip, we wish we would've spent that elsewhere.

Yelp
Bollo has a nice vibe with the slightly upscale but warm rustic kitchen feeling. We were sat right away on a Friday night and the servers were attentive at the beginning. However one of the people from my party had to take a phone call and we had to tell the server we weren't ready to order until she came back. This happened twice. When she came back the server was no where to be found! It took forever for us to just order and we had to flag people down to get our server. The food was solid, 4/5. I really liked the pasta we had and the shrimp pizza was unique. The calamari was also tasty as well. It's not the most memorable place but a nice addition to the upper Kirby area.

Yelp
Where do l begin. First off l picked this restaurant because l had to take four football players from Rice University to dinner. Big chance as tough to be assured they would be well fed. Home run great place solid food and service was exceptional.

Yelp
Over five years later.....came back to see if just maybe that Patrick G. Was still here. I've had an incredible craving for a dirty martini. Wow! He is here and still doing an amazing job!!! My martini was just like I wanted it! Delicious! Smooth! Floating ice crystals! His sweet smile and attentive service is just what we needed! Pizza was darn delicious as well! The crisp crust, fresh mozzarella was superb! Love this guy!!! Please give him a bonus!!! Take care of him!!!

Yelp
Good pizza with quality toppings. The main reason I wanted to try this pizza is because it was woodfired. Not sure what type of wood was used but I could have had a little more flavor from the wood. Service and ambience was good, outdoor dining was an option as well.

Yelp
Houston is not a town famous for pizza but I think this place might change it. Apparently they have been rated in the top ten pizza places in Texas and I can see why! All pizzas are made fresh to order. They have few things on the menu but everything tastes great. Their burrata cheese and garlic Parmesan bread would be my top pics for appetizers. With pizza, you can't go wrong with anything. Service is good and servers are polite. They do sell pizza dough for $6 as well!

Yelp
When in Houston I usually eat here at least once. Very good pizza with no bs. It is my current favorite in Houston and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Upon walking in, the place is really quiet and trendy looking. The bartender seems to help to-go customers, while working the bar. I was not greeted at no point. The gentleman looked like it pained him to speak. The first words he spoke was, "Yes" after asking for a lunch menu. He handed it to me and walked off. When he returned to the register, the next words were "Are you ready?". He just walks away after I take my card. So now, I sit and wait for my food low-key annoyed, as I watch him smile and is friendly with other customers who converse with him. The only reason I came here was Fabio's recommended it when I stopped there for lunch. Turns out their food is only for home-prep. I ordered the meatball sub with salad on the lunch menu. He bags my food and bring it to me, barely cracking a smile. Bah humbug. Enough to make me not want to return. The sandwich was very tasty though. Bread slightly toasted, meatball very tasty though lightly seasoned, and the cheese was freshly shaven. I would've preferred the bread toasted a little longer, but it was very good. The salad was fresh, colorful, and crisp. I wasn't offered a Salad Dressing choice but the balsamic vinegar was very tasty. Not too pungent. Customer service matters.

Tam H.

Yelp
Excellent ingredients made this a tasty pizza. We asked for extra crispy and the middle came out soggy and wet. The service was excellent and attentive, keeping our cups filled without even asking. We enjoyed an indoor table as it was hot and muggy outside. The interior is a nice modern feel and it's nice to see Into the kitchen a bit. We will try an outside table when it cools off to see if we can get a less soggy pizza.

Yelp
I mean, I liked it. It was good. But it wasn't cheap. And the tip calculator at the bottom of the check gave a range between 20-30% tip. 30% is like a third of my $70 check. That's rough. Bellini was good. And we liked the carne trio pizza as well. The linguine carbonara was nice and the fettuccine Alfredo kids size was almost the same size.

Yelp
My husband and I took off from Galveston today and drove up to Houston to check out a new restaurant for us: Bollo Woodfired Pizza. It took us about an hour to get there. I had made reservations via YELP but ended up getting there early. Did not have a problem getting in on Sunday noon - light to medium crowd. We ordered Calamari for our appetizer and Calzone for our main meal - split both. The Calamari was delightful - it had a light crispy coating, not oily, and was served with two sauces - one was a ranch dressing; the other was a tomato sauce of some kind. Both were good, but I loved the tomato sauce the best. There was too much to eat so we asked for to-go box. We were provided with a biodegradable pkg, not plastic or foam, which made me happy! For Calzone, we ordered one which had tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, fresh shaved parmesan, and spinach. Again, it was so large we split it. When it arrived, I was delighted to smell the amazing wood fired smoke mixed with the tangy ingredients. The cheeses oozed from inside and can only be described as yummy, oozy gooey goodness! Finally, we ended with a chocolate cake for dessert. The desserts are prepared from scratch, off site. The chocolate cake was moist, creamy, and rich and looked beautiful! This was definitely a 5-star dining experience. Our service was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was delicious. We will definitely go back when we are in Houston.

Yelp
We had a lovely group experience here. I was impressed with the ease and patience with which their waitstaff handles our group of five adults and four young kids. Note to self- they have a fun private-like space in the back with curtains that's perfect for bigger groups. I don't know if they allow special reservations for this table. Our group tried their woodfired pizzas, variety of salads, wine and appetizers. The stand out for me was the truffle burrata served with Cristini. I can still taste the truffle burrata in my mouth as I type this... The woodfired pizzas were also delicious and they offer a kids menu with dishes like spaghetti and meatballs. Overall, a positive experience and I would recommend it to others.

Yelp
Good service. Friendly great pizza. And amazing pork chops ! Enuf to take home for another meal!

Yelp
We stopped in after Boo at the Zoo didn't work out tonight because of traffic and mass event visitor congestion in the Museum District (boooooo!). Our table of 4 shared a shrimp scampi pizza and 2 Salsiccia pizzas, add pepperoni and mushrooms. For dessert the chocolate cake and cheesecake. Both pizzas were great; for dessert we preferred the chocolate cake. Carlos our waiter was outstanding!

Yelp
There was an error on my check, I noticed it the next day. I called and also went in person, they did everything possible not to solve it, obstacles and lies. Disrespectful. They led me to lose patience and raise my voice saying that if they didn't solve it, everyone present would watch what was happening. Responding to the business's reply...That's the problem, you pay them a bad salary and act as if the customers have an obligation to compensate. Pay better salaries to your employees. 20% tip seems little to them. The tip is at the discretion of the client, it is not legal to impose it, much less without letting the client know. Yes, they returned my money, which was an extra tip that I paid by mistake on top of the 20%. They returned it because I raised my voice, I had to insist for someone to resolve it at that moment, I told them that I would file a complaint with the BBB and I did not allow them to continue their game. Nothing gives them the right to be disrespectful, lie and do everything they did.

Yelp
Consistently good food & decent service. Having lived in California for a few years, few places in town have "good" salads in my opinion. When someone wants a good salad, this is one of the places that pop into my head. The lettuce on the arugula salad is always fresh & better than lettuce I buy at the grocery. We also typically get the pizza. It's hot fresh thin crust baked in a pizza oven. Very tasty. We've tried a few things from the lunch menu & have never had something we didn't like. No one we've taken here has either. Wine is decently priced with a good selection. They have a few frozen drinks that are like a dessert. Sweet, cold & yummy. We typically eat outside & sometimes there are noisy children running up & down the patio. Honestly, it's most of the time. Inside is crowded & loud. As long as the weather is good, it's nicer in the parking lot, even with screaming kids. I wish they'd separate patio sides to kids & no kids. It's dog friendly too.

Yelp
We like their calamari, pizza, and quick drink selection! If it's warm enough we love sitting outside.

Yelp
I went to Bollo today and ordered a greek salad. I couldn't believe my eyes when it arrived. There was no lettuce and it was basically a bowl of green peppers, red onions, 2 (unappealing) slabs of feta cheese, a few slices of cucumber, and a few Kalamata olives. It cost $12, which I would not have minded had it been a more generous serving and included lettuce.

Yelp
Wow, what a great find of a restaurant. It's open late so was fantastic to go back multiple times when I was visiting town for 21 says this spring. Any pizza and the greek salad were great...but add goat cheese, so fantastic. The wait staff was great, lots of seating, just a great find in the Montrose/Shepard area of Houston.

Yelp
*****DISCRIMINATION AT ITS FINEST***** I tried to take my senior citizen parents here for happy hour. My dad is in a wheelchair and is an new amputee. It is difficult for him to around so he rarely leaves the house for anything other than doctor appointments. I convinced him to try going to a restaurant in an effort to getting him to be more social. I told him I had heard Bollo had a good happy hour deal so we decided to make a special outing. When we came in, I told the hostess we were there for happy hour. The hostess looked at me stone-faced and told us that happy hour is only at the bar. I pointed to my father and showed her that we would not be able to sit at the bar because of his disability. She then told us we could sit outside. Outside??? At the time I arrived at the restaurant it was 101 degrees outside with a 113 heat index. My dad is a real life human that deserves to be treated as an equal. This year has been hard enough for him to deal with all of these unexpected medical complications that he should not have to deal with being discriminated against when attempting to go to a happy hour. This was his first attempt at going to a restaurant since his surgery. Now I don't know how I will get him to be willing to try it again after this treatment. It is downright cruel to treat someone as if they are a stray dog and that they should be sent outside in the crazy heat simply because they cannot get up on a bar stool. Not only did we have to deal with this waitress being a disgusting person, but there supposedly was no manager on duty. This place really needs to get their act together. Not only was their service rude, made my father feel like complete dog doo, but it was also ILLEGAL.

Yelp
Love their pizza and wine! I like eating here outdoors on a nice day! Best woodfired pizza in Houston!

Yelp
Of the two pizza places that served Neopolitan-style pizzas in Houston that I was most looking forward to, Bollo's definitely came through. Flavors, textures, and pricing (surprisingly giving the location) was on-point. The burrata was super fresh and tasted amazing with the tomato and basil. Two pizzas and the burrata was definitely too much for 2 people, but WORTH it. One thing that did seem 'off' to me was the margherita pizza; normally I don't see sliced tomatoes on it and they seemed more like regular beefsteak tomatoes. Again, the pizzas were still pretty fantastic. Definitely coming here again for my pizza fix.
