It's a pretty cute Shabu Shabu restaurant in koreantown. The facilities look modern and clean, welcoming staff and a fairly good selection of food, veggies, and meat options. The koreantown background music transport you to a k-drama moment. Definitely recommend it, but keep in mind the price is out there compared

So many side entry options to go with their large menu of quality cuts of meat! Their wagyu selection contain over a dozen meat options itself. The service was also very accommodating to add extra flavor to the two selected broths per pot. Overall, not too expensive for an AYCE shabu shabu experience with so many options of meats, sides, and attentive service.

We came with my family for dinner. This is my favorite type of food. The price is 42$ per person. They have huge buffet for the soup and some ready food. Big choice of different broths and meat. Don’t leave anything on your plate. They have fine for it.

First time here. I highly recommend this place. Everything was great from the service to all the meats, really great flavors of the soups from original to spicy one's.

Such a great place for groups with all types of dietary needs. I came on a weeknight and was seated right away. They have reservations for parties of 3 or more. The buffet has so many options you can literally eat a different meal every trip to get more add ins. Don’t forget to bring your ticket from the garage so your parking can get validated. I will absolutely be back, especially with my vegetarian friends!

So. Many. Options. Love a good AYCE spot! They have a great selection at the buffet bar, fresh wagyu, prime meats, veggies, and the space is very clean. Definitely worth checking out with family and friends!

It's great value for lunch. pricey for dinner. if you stay more than 1.5 hours (which is easy based on LA time and with hotpot) parking is 5 dollars, otherwise there is validation (though it's very confusing and requires registration). it's buffet style. the staff doesn't tell you what meat they are giving you so it's bewildering. Great veggie selection. my biggest complaint is their sauce is terrible... watered down and tasteless. broth is also just passable. but it's the price friendlier option in LA.

All you can eat shabu- One of the best bang for your buck if you are craving shabu! They have various soup options to choose from but we picked the sukiyaki and tomato base. Both were delicious! I would order both of these bases again when I come back. There is a nice hot bar with food options such as korea side dishes (vermicelli noodles), pork belly, even sesame balls for dessert. The hot pot sides were all just up for grabs as well. They had carious fish balls, meat balls, veggies, corn, anything you can really think of, they had! Udon noodles, ramen noodles, and rice cakes were also available. I also have to call out that they had various seafoods, more than most places I've been where they put out crab, octopus, shrimp and more. For the meats, you just order with them and they will bring it to you. There are 2 tiers for you to pick from depending on what kind of meats you can order. They are really quick with coming around to your table to take your plates and add any meat orders. Everyone was very friendly and the ambiance inside was spacious and pretty calm (with music playing) since we went on a weekday night. They validate parking so be sure to park in the lot behind the restaurant!

It's a spacious place with tall ceilings with numerous vents installed to air out the constantly boiling room. Broth and meat were okay! but service was a bit inconsistent. Some servers were helpful while others were struggling to keep it tgt. :(

yumm a great AYCE lunch deal! It is $34 during lunch hours and bonus this place also validates parking! They have a wide variety of soup choices (my favorite was the bone broth and tomato) and meats. The meat is thinly sliced and super tender, even though it was the lunch menu they still had one wagyu option! Soup season at its finest! Who doesn't like to pick and choose what they get to put in their broths. For the meats they have 2 different sets to choose from. One is like a regular set and the other is a wagyu set which of course is more expensive. You get to chose two broths and they bring it to your table. And you add all the veggies and seafood or whatever you want. They have a sauce bar that you can choose to make your own customized sauce. There is also an appetizer like area set that you can get things like fried mandu to fried chicken wings. They even have a Cajun shrimp and corn dish too. The service is good. The staff is friendly and fast. Nice thing about this spot is that you can join the waitlist from Yelp! So do that if you can.

Convenient parking nearby, $1 with validation. They have a signature selection for $42 and wagyu selection for $58. I think you can be just fine with the signature menu (includes one wagyu choice) but we splurged! You can also choose two soups, including their original, bone broth, and the traditional sukiyaki. There is an extensive cold bar to get your veggies and seafood items as well as a hot appetizer area including fried chicken, beef bulgolgi, fried rice and sesame balls. At the end of the bar are desserts and sauce bar. Of course the main course are the meats and you can get five at a time for our party of two. We liked all of them, very fresh and tasty but partial actually to the more fatty meats like the pork belly and the wagyu chuck roll. The staff were attentive and brought extra utensils and refilled the soups quickly. This is a good spot to share a meal with great company!

Tagged along with my boyfriend and his friend to Bon Shabu, basically third-wheeling their "date" because they're both obsessed with this spot. For me, it was just okay...decent quality and nothing too remarkable. The best part was the porridge at the end. It's a must after but they didn't have egg or seaweed, which was kind of disappointing. But here's where the boyfriend came through because he actually brought an egg and some seaweed from home so he could make the porridge for me! Definitely a sweet touch that made my night. It's a a solid spot if you're craving shabu..just make sure you bring your own egg and seaweed for porridge!

This was such a good shabu place!! Maybe one of my top locations I've ever been. We were visiting LA for new years and craving hot pot so we just found a random location that had good reviews on yelp. All the tables were full and we had to wait in line for about 30min but it was worth it!! The soup bases were yummy but the real star of the show was the self serve buffet area with all the hot pot fix ins. They had a very wide variety and it was quickly replenished. They even had more appetizer style items like chicken wings, tempura, dumplings, crawfish, etc. they also had dessert and sesame balls! The meat and seafood selection was great as well! We ordered some beers and soju too and it was an amazing meal! The only negative thing about the experience was that the restaurant was SO busy that it was really hard getting service at our table especially because we were seated in the very back corner. We had to waive someone down very often to get drink refills and order more meat. When we were able to get a hold of them we just ordered A TON of meat as they came so infrequently.

Got the shabu with original bone broth and original spicy. The self serve bar was decent but the portion sizes of the meat were small. It was 42$ per person for dinner so somewhat overpriced.

I love hot pot and I love the way Bon Shabu does things. The inside is modern, it's clean, it's large, and the fact that everything is essentially self serve (except meat) is fantastic. Other places have you order what you want and they give you the portion they think you need, but Bon Shabu is like, "grab a plate, fill it with whatever you want, and just eat" and I love that about them. My group of 5 came for dinner on a Friday night and we were quickly seated and set up for success. We chose our broths and got to work right away. The craziest part is that they really do have everything besides the usual items for hot pot - there was fried food, cajun, desserts, I mean... I'm not complaining, but it was definitely a surprise! Staff was very attentive, but granted it wasn't a super busy night when we popped in. They quickly took away the empty meat trays, take our new order, and refill the broths.

I am a big hot pot lover but this place honestly didn't impress me that much. I think it lacked flavor in the broth and the sauces. The meat quality was okay. I really liked the prime top blade aka number 3... it was super tender and soft. The service was good and there is a buffet area to choose your seafood and veggies, they even have cooked food/ appetizers and dessert.

This place was busy during the weekend but we had a great time eating at this place. So many varieties and different flavors which we all like. The beef however could be confusing. We wished there's some sort of way to identify which cut so we know what we're eating. Overall, great experience and we'll come back whenever we are in the area.

The best price to quality/service restaurant for ayce hot pot! There are so many sides that are both high quality and don't make you feel bad that you didn't eat more meat. Also there are many selections of sauces that make the experience very customizable. (Hint: add peanut sauce and nuts to some noodles with a little soup). We make it a tradition to come here for birthdays every time. The parking is also very convenient and they validate parking which can be very difficult to find in Ktown. The meat selection is very good and even the standard tier is very high quality. I love the fact that their broth is also cooked from bone too so feel free to have as much as possible too! There is nothing that I don't like about this business, very clean, well done, and all the sides are conveniently placed.

My favorite hot pot location in Los Angeles! Bon shabu is located in koreatown in downtown LA. Situated in a shopping mall, you can find parking either on the street around the corner or garages on either side. Myself and my friend came around 5 pm and had no problem being seated. The restaurant is a good size which holds plenty of seating for various amounts of party sizes. The hostess was super nice and explained how everything worked to myself and my friend. The options of food is massive at this restaurant! You can start with appetizers at the hot bar after you choose your options for your broth. You receive two options which we chose a spicy option and a ginger based one. The hot bar was delicious and we had pace our stomachs to not get too full considering we were there for the hot pot. For hotpot, you will have two options for food. We chose the selection which gave us more options in terms of meats. Everything was delicious! We really enjoyed having different options for vegetables as well as seafood. Thank you for the great experience!

First time hearing of this place in K town and Im surprised it wasn't as crowded as it deserves to be. We got the signature selection, which was the cheapest (but still felt high end) and all the meats we had included were high quality and just the right amount to not make us feel obnoxiously full! Out of all the broths I enjoyed the Huo Guo the most as it had the most spices. The bar selection was INSANE- on top of a variety of different veggies and seafoods they had seafood boil, fried chicken, egg roll , sweet and sour pork - and they were all solid, esp the fried chicken. The place overall was very nice and spacious , and it was the perfect spot for celebrating my best friends dinner. I wish we knew sooner but if you park at the structure behind this spot, they validate it for you at the restaurant. Service was whatever but I feel like they're all the same at AYCE places. One of the better hot pot places i've been to!!

This is literally my favorite spot. Parking with validation is $1-2 depending on how long you stay. All the food is so good from prepared bulgogi / japchae/ rice cake/ dumplings to the hot pot

Bon Shabu is an AYCE Shabu place located in Koreatown offering Signature and Wagyu cuts of meat For vegetarians, you can also get only veggies It's a buffet style where they offer a huge selection of veggies, seafood, noodles, and hot food items but the meat has to be ordered with the server We decided to go with the Wagyu option since I'm all about the premium The marbling on the meats, texture, and taste was just as I had imagined! It was so yummy and paired perfectly with the veggies and their ponzu and peanut sauce We got their regular and huoguo broths which were both sooo delicious but huoguo is pretty spicy so only get this if you can handle spicy foods The staff were very attentive and friendly and the interior is spacious, modern, and clean making it an exceptional experience dining here We stayed less than two hours and parking was $2 with validation

Very solid shabu/hotpot place. All you can eat with a bar in the middle of the restaurant that has TONS of options (veggies, seafood, noodles, and even other classic korean dishes!) I would say the meat quality is also pretty solid for an all you can eat place. However, the service of the meat coming out to the table was pretty slow. They have an ice cream bar but it costs extra from the all you can eat now:( I wish it was like one limit per customer or something! But overall, solid experience and cravings satisfied

It was my wife's birthday this past Sunday. We drove to Bon Shabu to celebrate her birthday. Bon Shabu is one of her favorite restaurant. We enjoyed a wonderful meal. DJ's rating: 4.75/5.00 Would we come back? Definitely Yes!

I really want to rate this place two stars but I'll give it a three to be nice. Is it bad that I liked the actually side dishes rather than the actually shabu shabu. If I like the side dishes more than the actual thing I came for, I'm left scratching my head. This was my second time having shabu shabu and no, I don't expect to be caudled but it was confusing. No it's not rocket science because you have your soup base and items you want to put in the soup. My friend and I grabbed extra tongs on accident and the server saw and took it off our tray??? Okay... They were really spot on to give us our meats and ask if we wanted more but that was really it. This experience really left me disappointed after weeks of planning to come here because we live 2 hours away. I think most disappointing thing is laying $40 dollars for a meal I didn't even like. What I liked: The Korean fried chicken was great and the possibly gochuchang sauce? covered fried chicken which was amazing. The ttbeoki was great! Ambiance is cute but the cups have a rusted specs on the inside which I know can't be helped but it a little turn off.

A fully decked out Shabu Shabu place, with tons of choices and fix-ins. Seriously, don't sleep on the hot bar. I know you're here to boil some meats, but it didn't hurt to have some options as we waited for our meats to arrive! Really impressed with the seafood selection and though this place is a bit on the pricey side, it makes up for it in variety. The only caution I have to mention that knocked off a star for me was their condiment bar was lacking. The absence of Sa Cha sauce was felt amongst our table--and I'm not sure I can ever truly overlook this, though I'm fully aware of how crazy I sound. But otherwise, stellar experience!

Pretty good hotpot! For the price point, it's a bit expensive, but it's an AYCE with a lot of options. However, I have had better for cheaper. You have to order the meat with your server, but everything else is buffet style. It's a casual, fast-paced place, so once you order your broth and meat, it comes out quickly. However, my one qualm with this restaurant is in its service. I've been twice, and both times we are often forgotten as a table. When we're able to catch our server, we had to make sure we request everything we'd want because otherwise, we'd have to wait a while to get it. Towards the end of the meal, it took a while for the check to even come out, despite it being an empty restaurant. I'd recommend going here if you're craving hotpot in Ktown, but don't have high expectations on good service.

I LOVVV soup/shabu !! Shabu is one of my many weaknesses -- and this hit on this hot day. We opted for the Wagyu meat & the meat was so delicioso paired with the soup. There were soo many side options + deserts. Since we came on a Thursday afternoon, it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the original spicy, and my friend got the sukiyaki soup base. Me being me, I accidentally mixed the spicy sauce into the sukiyaki soup. The staff was incredibly accommodating and kindly replaced our soup for us :')

This place is so good! It's all you can eat, has a lot of seating, has good customer service, and also has fun extra side dishes and desserts available in a buffet style. The inside makes it seem like it's fancier than it is. It's best to come here with friends and family because you can utilize way more of what they have to offer. I'm not even the biggest fan of hot pot, but they really do have something for everyone.

We came around 3:15pm and just missed their lunch specials, but we were able to find streets parking pretty easily. Pro tip, park in the Falafel Corner plaza since it's always really empty! The restaurant is super spacious with a huge self serve bar which included seafood and side dishes. They have a huge variety of sauces and toppings to choose from. I really enjoyed the fried chickens Overall, the service was great, the meat were decent, though we didn't try the wagyu option which might have been really great! We order mostly beef and pork belly, with the tomato base broth and huo guo broth (it was way spicier and overwhelming than I thought, would not order this broth again). We enjoyed the experience, but I personally would only go back if someone else would like to go.

Like any other shabu place. They are all the same. Friendly staff tho. But they were out of a lot of things when we went. But thats ok.

For this being a more of a legit Shabu experience it was pretty nice and fun! We ordered from the wagyu selection for dinner and it was overall delicious. The meat looked very fresh and beautifully thinly sliced. I was not a fan of the lamb at all as it had a little taste/ smell that I'm not a fan of but if you like lamb maybe you'll enjoy it. We had so much toppings to choose from vegetables, sea food, vegetarian options, and so many more. They also have a side for appetizers and some Korean sides. We had the original and organic beef broth and the taste was incredible. Service was also efficient!

This is a very clean and spacious place with a wide selection of meats, vegetables, seafood, noodles, and sauces for shabu shabu along with several hot buffet items. They also offer some dessert mini cake items. We chose the sukiyaki broth which I found to be subtle in flavor. We had a wonderful celebratory lunch and got full pretty fast. Our server was very attentive and promptly brought us whatever we asked for or needed. The validated parking in the rear structure was appreciated although when we arrived, the parking ticket machine lines were very long and the line of cars waiting to leave the structure were very long. When we left, the lines of cars waiting to leave were still very long! The restaurant has a fabulous deal where you can get your meal free if you come on your actual birthday with proof of ID. You must have a minimum of 2 people in your party.

Visited last Saturday around 9:30pm. If you're wanting any other raw proteins the cut off is at 10p an hour before they close. I am pescatarian & my sole purpose of visiting was to try the sea food. I did not like it. Quality was questionable. This place is unique in that they offer a hot bar.

Tricked by this good yelp review. Very disappointed w the visit. Food variety is limited. From Veggies to noodles . The quality is not premium at all. The worst part is the service. There are 2 Korean male servers who dont give much attention to customers at all. They love chit chat among themselves in Korean thou they see plates piling up at customers table. One male server will even dig out some pasta in the middle and eat. No instruction about which meat at all. I really dont know which beef I was having. We came on a wkday dinner, so there were probably less than 8 tables . Service is that poor. I cant even imagine what would happen if they are crowded . The place is clean thou .

My family and I were in the area so stopped by for lunch. Our only basis for comparison is Mikiya which is another chain of AYCE wagyu shabu shabu place that we've been to a few times. I actually think 3 stars would be more appropriate but going with 4 since we went for lunch and had the signature combination. The pros of this place are that there's a wide selection of seafood, vegetables, appetizers and items that you can help yourself to. Also, it was nice for the three of us to try 4 different broths. The cons were that the meat quality was not nearly as good as even the least expensive combination offered at Mikiya. Less marbling and not as tasty. Also, service was not as good. At Mikiya, the waiters are constantly checking up on you and eager to bring you more food. We had to track down the waiters multiple times. Overall, it was a good lunch, but I would go back to Mikiya instead.

It's very big inside and spacious. The service is good because it's very consistent them coming by and cleaning up for you and making sure if you want more or need more you get. The food is great and very fresh. I love the seafood options. The broth was very tasty too.

I had a pretty enjoyable time at Bob Shabu. The staff was really nice especially regarding my allergy. As far as the options go, especially for the price, it's decent. I have been to cheaper places with more options, but this place is worth a try. Their sauce bar could be a bit more extensive, but it was pretty good. I like the options they did have. The soup broths were also really delicious. I don't know if the more expensive meat selection is worth it. The inside of the restaurant is nice, very clean, and it's one big pot for two people but there are dividers, so you can each have a section of you prefer!

First time at Bon Shabu and we came as a family before an aunt was heading back to Korea so it felt a little like ooooh! and I'm glad we chose bon shabu especially because it was cold and the food was solid and the parking was YAY Food: -all you can eat shabu: you order 2 flavors (my partner and I ordered original spicy and the sukiyaki) the soups were pretty good. They weren't particularly WOW or anything but when you're eating/drinking it with everything you cook, I think I prefer it to be more balanced and clean tasting. -Options for food: GOOD! I loveee veggies, I loveeee fish cakes, I loveeee meat too and the meat just kept on coming! They're very quick with it Service: -Service was really good. They were really prompt and things were clean and all. Ambiance: -Busy, but good for groups both big and small. It does get a bit loud though but that's to be expected Overall: -It was good food! And everyone left with warm and full stomachs so I think that's a good sign! Will be back if in the area and/or anyone is craving hotpot. Other than that, I think I can stay more local in the SGV area.

This place is great! Fast and friendly service, vegan/vegetarian options, and a clean buffet. We didn't have a reservation, but only had to wait 10 minutes. We left happy and full

4.5/5 stars I've been looking for good AYCE hotpot places in LA that wouldn't break the bank, and was pleasantly surprised by Bon Shabu! Their Signature Selection lunch menu was $34 per person, and came with good choices of meat (including one wagyu cut). It was good quality meat, served in small stackable plates, and my favorites were the beef belly and beef top blade (which were sliced extremely thin and practically melted in your mouth)!! They have a large selection of veggies, sauces, appetizers, and desserts at their self-serve bar. I particularly enjoyed the House Sauce and their desserts (the mango mousse cake was BOMB). They also validate parking (at the nearby large structure) which is a plus! Instead of $15, you insert the ticket they give you so you only pay $2. The only things I wish were different were the broths and service; I personally wish there was a miso broth option and, while the servers were quick and polite, they weren't the most friendly. Their responses were super short/curt with me and my boyfriend, but they would talk quite a bit (in Korean) to other customers. Besides that though, I would definitely come back.

We walked in and they seated us with menus and gave us a minute and asked what soup and meats we wanted. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink though which was weird. We were also slightly seated away from others which was another thing. Then we ordered Food: The food was amazing and the selection was phenomenal. Soup: We got Beef Bone and Huo Gou and our friends got Huo Gou and sukiyaki. I personally did not enjoy the beef bone as much but it's ok. The other soups were great. Meat: Brisket and Prime Chuck They have good selection of sides in general and stuff to put like fried chicken, shrimp, corn and sooo much other stuff that was self-serve. It was like a buffett style and really tasty. The workers didn't really come to check up on us and honestly felt a bit weird since we were one of the only tables of a different demographic. And when they did come to our table, it was very monotonous. The only workers that seemed to be genuinely friendly were the bussers. The only reason it's a four stars instead of three is because the food was good along with the selection, but i would have given it a five if the service was friendlier and they checked on us more frequently. lastly, the ambience of the place was overall clean and open. The inside was nice and simple. I would come here again because of the food but i really hope the workers change their attitude.

For one of my first hotpot experiences, I am glad I chose Bon Shabu- not just for the AYCE, but for the literal BUFFET of additional things you can put into the hotpot. The "gateway" broths I'd recommend are: definitely the SukiYaki or the original. If you want things to be spicy, they have some great options too. But alas my stomach cannot take it. The staff were a little aloof about checking in but were accommodating when we asked for things. We also brought a 2 year old so who's to say.

This place offers all-you-can-eat shabu shabu hot pots, and they also have hot foods in the buffet area to eat while you cook the meats in the soup. I got their AYCE Signature Selection for $42.00 per person. I definitely recommend this place if you're a meat lover and have a big appetite to try lots of different foods!

The Sukiyaki sings a sweet and savory tune reminiscent of Japan's culinary history. All were great, but not as dense/flavorful as the hot pot broth I've had in Asia. 4/5. In an impressive display of variety, the restaurant offers an array of premium meats, each slice a testament to quality and freshness. The Wagyu beef, tender and marbled, melts in your mouth, releasing a cascade of rich, buttery flavors. The pork, lean and flavorful, offers a delightful contrast, while the duck and fish options add a layer of sophistication to the spread. However, I will note that the service was quite lagging. Unlike some other hot pot places, here, you need to order all the meat every time by waving down a server, which can take time (especially during peak hours), and it didn't help that some of the servers were intentionally avoidant and arguably rude. 3/5. An exploration at Bon Shabu is not complete without considering their self-service vegetable and appetizer bar. Lot of variety of seafood, veggies and like side dishes like gyoza, fried chicken, fried sweet and sour pork, fried squid rings, jappchae etc. Bone Soup was alright. Nothing outstanding. Big place, lots of seating and nice staff.

Came on a Saturday right when they opened and there was no wait. We loved their other self service items, especially the fried chicken, however it was pretty cold. They have a huge selection of other items like vegetables, noodles, and sauces for your hotpot. We tried four different broths, I especially liked the huo guo and spicy beef bone. Their meat quality is great and worth the price! Their service is quick and the self service area is clean.

Food 4/5 - we got the wagyu all you can eat and we loved it. I took a point off because the quality of wagyu wasn't that impressive but was still good. Their ingredient bar was huge with many choices. The original broth was good but after a while the meat tasted a bit oily. Service was 5/5 - whenever we were out of food someone came to check on us and gave us more meat. Ambiance was in a very spacious restaurant and high end decorations. Good for family, friends and even dates. I strongly recommend!

Bon Shabu is a delightful all-you-can-eat (AYCE) Japanese hot pot and buffet restaurant. This hidden gem offers unlimited fresh seafood, Wagyu and prime meat selections, a buffet bar that includes hot dishes like chicken wings, a dessert spread, a DIY sauce bar, and more. We chose the Wagyu beef selection, and I must say, their Wagyu beef and pork belly are incredibly tender. When dipped in your own DIY sauce it's so yummy. The portion sizes on each plate may be small, but since it's AYCE, you can order as much as you need. The soup bases are exceptional, simmered with beef bones for hours, resulting in a fresh and flavorful taste. Their seafood options in the buffet bars are amazing; the shrimp and crawfish taste super fresh and delicious. The decor is fantastic, and the service is top-notch. They also have a lunch special, and the parking ticket gets validated when you dine in.

I've been wanting to try Bon for quite some time now after seeing it on IG. They luckily take reservations and we made reservations for two for lunch on a Sunday. When we arrived we were seated right away and it didn't seem too busy. It took a long ass time for them to come take our order though so I had to walk over to a waiter to get his attention. They were apologetic. Bon does no offer individual pots. They are split pots. They had two different menus. The more pricier one had wagyu. I like that they had plenty of options for broths with no additional charges. We went for the Organic Beef Broth and Huo Guo. Both were pretty spicy but really good. We found their meats to be fresh but the only one I truly liked was the pork. The rest weren't fatty enough. As for the salad bar. They had plenty of options for salads and veggies. They even had sesame leaves which I have never seen before. The hot items included noodles, rice, eggrolls, wings, and other items. For desserts there was mousse, cake, and popsicles. Besides service being really slow in the beginning everything else was fine. Pricing is a little more than other places for shabu but I felt it was fair. The inside of this place is large and spacious. I like that the bar area has two sides so there isn't much of a wait. Parking is in the back in a structure. Even with validation it was $2 for under 2 hours.

Really nice servers, and the ambience of the restaurant was overall nice. Not too loud but had subtle nighttime vibes. The food was really good, but adding the sauce is greatly recommended as the meat can sometimes get tough and flavorless if you don't eat right away or if cooked for too long.
